I disagree totally. Americans and English Canadians aren’t quite different. Take away gun issues and they seem close enough. French Canadians keep Canada distinct from the USA. It is the major difference

Canada is not a smaller version of the US trying to have the same policies as the US. We are a commonwealth country and align more with New Zealand, and other commonwealth countries who do not bully others.

Why in God’s name would I ever want to do that?! ?? Canada is a civilized country.

Obviously the USA is number one choice. My brother is in robotics. Top of his class, go getter, good connections, etc. $80k canadian a year, moved to america, makes $250k american plus stock options (accounting for the exhange rate that's closer to $60k USD for the job in canada)\n\nCanada is great for mediocrity. America is great for excellence. \n\nIt is better to be bottom in the barrel in canada. It's better to be in the top in the usa. We do have a lot of higher payed unskilled jobs. Tree planting in canada for example can pay $30-60 an hour, whereas in america it's ussually closer to minimum wage (also due to geographical and structural differences within the same job). Whereas all tech and medical jobs will pay drastically higher in the USA.

Only scammers and cars thieves thrive in Canada nowadays. Trudeau immigration policies broke hardworking Canadians.

Another thing enticing Canadian immigrants to move to the US is the high rate of tax that you have to pay in Canada as you earn more. The difference in tax amount is clear as night and day between Canada and the US

Too many immigrants are going to both countries. Both countries can’t accommodate them. Canada will probably have to follow the US soon

Canada also allows more immigration to keep our Realestate market propped up.

When i was getting my Canadian permanent residence around 2015-2016, they didnt just automatically give it to you if you stayed and worked for 3 years after graduating. You had to gain at least one year of work experience in canada at a certain managerial level of seniority in those 3 years in order to qualify for permanent residence, which is very hard to do as a new graduate. I didnt manage to gain that full year in time before my 3 year work permit expired, so had to go through a very stressful experience of getting a temporary work permit for one more year tied to my shitty employer at the time. Only after that was I able to complete that required year as a manager and eventually qualify for PR. If they removed that rule since then, thats awesome

For someone in the high tech industry like me, it's the Great North American Paradox of Canada-vs-USA. Canada needs immigrants and welcomes immigrants but has no high volume of high tech jobs for the highly skilled immigrants. The USA has the biggest volume of high tech jobs for highly skilled immigrants but has a broken immigration system where the highly skilled immigrants are living in a limbo.

To be clear, the moment Trudeau is out of power; most people here expect the amount of immigration, to crash. Canadians want our resources to go into helping true Canadians, people born in Canada; who prefer Canadian rights, culture & history. Trudeau has instead been handing out Canadian wealth out of the country in massive amounts. This is just part of why most Canadians now hate him.

Any trip outside the United States will tell you about how few people would want to move to the US if they could live in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, or Europe instead. Probably a whole lot of other places, too. The United States has too many of its citizens living in fear. That’s a culture whose very admirable democratic and social goals are subverted by worshipping aggression and religious extremism, the very things they say they were fighting against in the Middle East and Afghanistan. I know that many Americans feel that way about their country and their fellow citizens but feel powerless to change it and that the plutocracy (which is largely in day-to-day control) seems to block any progress towards a better way of living.

50,000 canadians leave the country for the United States every year. Canada has become a neoliberal nightmare - We are inclusive and tolerant, however immigrants are primarily here for cheap labour. Your considerable credentials will grant you express entry to these ends, and nothing more. Its a scam.

Lemme skip to the end and take a guess as to what's actually happening.\n\nIndians go to Canada first so they can get to their final destination, America, faster. Once they're Canadian citizens, they can apply for US green card and travel easily to America in the meantime. They can work and bide their time in Canada while working in America only having to return to Canada every six months or so instead of back to India.\nBottom line:\nEvery foreigner who goes through the trouble to become a US citizen (clearly worth all that trouble) should be absolutely against ALL illegal immigrants who just walk across the southern border and demand to stay.

I vote we annex Canada and then take their immigration system for ourselves

Canada is dying by a thousand cuts, so shameful...need conmon sense PP, no joke.

I've heard people say it is much harder to immigrate to Canada than the USA. And the USA takes in the most immigrants in the world.
2023-07-29 1
As a Yank ?? who immigrated to ?? Canada, it was the best move I could have made. As a teacher I had better working conditions, respect, and take home pay. (Oregon spends more per teacher but because health care insurance, the teachers get less money in their pockets. ) An retirement in Canada is even better.

I like how nobody sees an issue with Canada's population being overtaken by immigrants. Immigrants who found a country are not the same as immigrants coming to be parasites on social programs. The leader of the NDP Jagmeet Singh recently stated these policies are failing Indians coming for prosperity, but are sleeping on the streets. I find videos like this extremely alarming in that it promotes this idea that for a country to be good, we have to open our borders and let whoever come. Please go to canada and look for yourself.

canada is growing in population. But its economy and housing supply is shrinking and wages arent rising either.

you forgot that Canada HAS NO JOBS !! ONLY LOW PAY WORK !!
2023-07-29 0
As an international student to the US, it's all so extremely stressful as mentioned by this video. First, after you graduate you have 90 days to find a job before being deported. Then, when you do find a job, you can only work for a year unless you're stem, then you can work for another company for another 2 years. Then there's the H1-B. Suffice to say, the lottery system is completely random. It doesn't matter how smart you are or how talented you are, H1-B is a lottery and you could get screwed over at any moment.\n\nIf you so much as dare to be unemployed (like in the recent tech firings), you have 90 days to find a new job before you're deported. Also h1-B only lasts for 6 years. Also moving companies on H1-B is a really hard ask. \n\nIt's all too cruel. Even I am considering moving to Canada myself.

I love Canada

As a first gen Chinese American, and to be fair to the US, please remember (1) US has a border with Mexico, which means illegal immigration is so much bigger than legal ones that it sucks up much of the government immigration resources. (2l when the US population is as small as Canada's today, US was not only letting in people from all over the world but also giving them free land (google the homestead acts).

Only immigrants which have a Medical PROVEN disability should be allowed to to immigrate into Canada !! PERIOD SHUT OUR DOOR TO ALL OTHERS including the last 8 yrs. SEND ALL OTHERS BACK TO CUBA OR IRAN TRUDEAUS HOME BASE!!

I think Canada is overrated country according to perspective and experiences of most of the people

It’s time to give the Federal Conservatives a chance to improve the overall situation in Canada. I believe there’s a strong likelihood they will do better than the Liberals who appear to have exhausted their ideas, skills and ability to deal with Canadian needs. Just sayin’?‍♂️.

Canadians aren't patriotic like Americans are. We aren't going to stay here just because it's Canada, but we also respect ourselves more than to move to a fourth world country like the US. (Because calling it a third world country is an insult to most developing nations)

The Government of Canada recently issued a 'travel advisory' for the United States travel because of random acts of violence with no pretense that you can protect yourself. I've heard of 'travel advisories' for certain States, but this is the first time I've heard it for the entire U.S. anywhere. In answer to the question: No. Too many guns, too many gun owners, too much religion pumping out hate and bigotry and too much arrogance.

Scam!!! This dude has done it decades ago. I challenge him to start from scratch & purchase even 1 home in Canada at exorbitant prices.

They are naive if they think Canada is better than Australia. It is on its way to become like Aus.??

You want to go to the US? Go! No one in Canada is stopping you. Apply for a Green Card, and go! Your complaints are those of shallow, superficial people who are never satisfied.

Well, despite many of the answers here, there are more Canadians emigrating to the US than Americans immigrating here. Considering the population difference, the disparity is huge. To make things worse, most of the emigrants are highly educated in specialized industries. Often, it's for economical reasons as income in some industries is ridiculously higher in the US than anywhere else in the world, Canada included. This brain drain is one of the reasons cited for the expected poor economic growth for Canada in the coming decade, at least compared to other developed nations. The one saving grace here is that there are a lot more qualified immigrants coming in from other countries than Canadian emigrants.

I once lived in a neighbourhood in Canada with rats, bedbugs, roaches, pigeons, seagulls, crows, drunks, hobos, criminals, drug addicts, trash, fires, violence, theft, etc \n\nI would choose that neighbourhood over the best neighbourhood in the USA every time and I hated it there

The truth is that medical and other costs are exorbitant in Canada . Also medical facilities in India are very advanced now. However the most important factor is that there is no country on the planet like India. And now with a modern booming India who would want to leave its shores. Finally, the education system in India is far far superior to Canada. For seniors Canada can be a living nightmare.

Uk born and bred move to Canada 1978…never ever would live in the States.\nWhile over there one day a man asked me what did I think about America..deep breath I said never met an American I didn’t like but….Americans do not know what is going on in the outside world, they think they are the b all and end all yet they nothing about their own country hell they don’t know what is going in the next state to them.\nI asked did you ever think about the fact that the reason that in the constitution to bare arms was because of invasion, enemies invading your country and property because why the hell are you all armed…Oh he has never thought about that.\nAfter watching Jamal aka Jamal trying to watch teenagers in the states being asked very basic questions about the USA the answers were cringeworthy ..\nYour education stinks ,your healthcare is a money grabbing system..yes beautiful places to go to visit and that’s it..?

American health care is way way better. In Canada you are treated like a number and major inconvenience in the healthcare system

The number 1 cause of death in children in Canada is accidents (e.g. car accidents).\nThe number 1 cause of death in children in the US is from firearms.\nThat is why many of the Canadian comments focused on kids, guns, and school.

Also, total no. I love spending weekends in Boston, it's a great city with a good mix of sport and culture. I know some urban centers are more liberal, but as many mentioned I cannot live in a place that gives so much importance to guns, religion, moral conservatism and Marjorie Taylor Green. We do have nut jobs in Canadian politic, but nothing remotely close. Also, I did find an article from May 26, 2023 that said there were 200 mass shootings across the US so far this year. I also hate the culture war in the US where everything become political (like LGBT rights, climate change or even biking). Worst part is that I'm considered conservative in Canada. I understand that there are nice people everywhere, even in the bible belt, and I would enjoy sharing a BBQ with them, but do I really want to raise children around people that believe that the Bible is more important than human rights and women freedom of choice with their body?

Having a baby costs 11 GRAND in Arizona - FREE in Canada. Our alcohol sales are controlled by each province. I work in a retail government liquor store and our stores provide over a billion dollars a year for our hospitals.

Thing is Tyler, your argument that the USA is a safe place to live if you pick your location right is deeply flawed. Canada’s most violent neighbourhoods are basically just as peaceful as your small town! I’m barely exaggerating here.
