The social dynamics isn't any easier for us that grew up in the western world. Work place respect is seldom mutual. We learn to cope, and tolerate it. So I can imagine how difficult it is for someone not accustomed to this undignified treatment to manage. I don't think the stress is worth it in Canada (maybe it's better in Quebec?).
