I can't blame that pregnant person for wanting out. Average hospital bill in the USA for chiildbirth is between 5,000 and 11,000 dollars according to google, and that doesn't include aftercare and pre-natal care. In Canada it's covered by the province.

I’d just like to point out that Canada is part of America.You say you were wanting to find out how Canadians compared living in Canada to living in America. But Canada IS America. I had to take my wife to the hospital because of an eye infection, we had to wait for 8 hours to be seen, the doctor was arrogant and sent us out in 2 mins. We had to travel to USA to get treated. Some can say you don’t have health care completely in Canada, the housing is completely expensive here, govt artificially limits supply of housing and drives up housing cost, the pay is less in Canada compared to USA. The Canadian PM is bigger joker compared to other world leaders.

If you are living in a decent life in your home country and there’s no war you might want to think twice about coming to Canada. If your a skilled professional and you want to work abroad I can tell you theres better options. USA, Switzerland or uae are all better choices. I say this as a born and raised Canadian.

Many people in the USA also leave the country when they get old or retire because after retirement, they not longer can't afford to stay.
