As an American, I support Canada 100%. There’s no rationale for these tariffs—only Trump’s ego. Call his bluff. Make it hurt. We need all the help we can get to dislodge Trump from power.

As a European having lived in both Canada and the United States for prolonged times, my view is this: Canadians are basically the same as Americans but with Health Care. It seems sad that it took an action such as the one the US government had to do, to make Canada realize that we should work together as provinces and as people. Canada knew very well that our big brother in the south has been fiscally hurting since years and had been racking up enormous government, corporate and private citizen debt. If this were to continue it would pull down every single country in the world. Let us not forget, that there is also a boycott of travel to the United States which means there are billions of dollars that will not be spent on travel, on accommodation, on the purchase of goods while in the States because there is no longer vacation or travel being done by Canada.
