Ones less to worry about freedom India.. good knows what this old bird would have done if she stayed back..

Honestly, I don’t know how to describe and definite my experience. I came to Canada for my university education by the end of 2013 after I finished my high school in my hometown. That was my first time to go abroad, and living in a totally strange country all alone. New surroundings. New friends. New culture. English speaking. Everything is new for me, and I cannot figure out how I feel at that time, because it’s so complex. Both excited and afraid. In the next few years, I traveled among several different cities. Winnipeg. Vancouver. Toronto. I met many people and experienced lots of things. Some were good and warm, and some were not, and the worst thing was I found I cannot get used to my life in Canada. I don’t mean bad, but I still feel I’m an outsider. I cannot get in. Neither my life nor my schoolwork. So much loneliness. I left Canada and go back to my hometown by the August of 2017. There was nothing strange for me at first 2 years. Everything looks normal, but by the flying of time, I found myself cannot stop missing the old days and experience in Canada. Even the worst part looks so beautiful. I have no idea how could that happened.

How discouraging to hear you and even after I read the comments about Canada ,,, I'm French Canadian but have lived in Australia for over 35 yrs , since 1982 ,,, now I'm divorced , and no family here ,, feeling very homesick and missing my family back home ,,, I'm 71 yrs old now ,, and I would like to return to Ottawa to live where I grew up, but listening to all of you ,, and to see how bad Canada became ,, just makes my heart cry ,,, what am I to do ,,, now ,, even though I'm part of a church group ,, but they are not even friends , just acquaintances , ,, and have no family here , my children live in Ottawa as well,, even though I've checked out many things in Ottawa about finances and rentals for seniors , to prepare myself for what I'm up against ,, , and that's another thing , I'm on the pension ,, and my health is starting to make me weaker in many ways ,,, anyway , listening to all these info ,, I really feel scared and so alone ,,, I suppose I could give my life totally to God , and forget about my family and everything ,, since I can see that if I do return to Ottawa ,, my life will be a worse living hell than here ,, ,what would you do knowing all this info ,, where can I go ,, nowhere it would seem ,, God help me ,,, and show me the way ,,, I have nowhere to go,

Boss, i stay in India and life here too is now as complicated as it is in the West, if not more! In today's urban India most of them don't know who their neighbours are/ don't interact with them for years together. Even amongst the neighbours, they keep in touch with each other via mobile phone (predominantly WhatsApp). Children avoid staying with parents and relatives at ALL costs to an extent where they even leave their natives/ immigrate abroad to achieve the objective. Work pressures at the Indian private sector is probably the highest in the world where most employees don't even have time to breathe let alone interact! Btw for those who argue that the Western society is highly depressed and immoral blah blah blah, lemme give you a reality check- India is almost about to become the dubious capital of depression of the world, divorces in Indian society is SO high that it's way too common now to see people who've been divorced/ married second or third time, people fighting marital disputes in courts for years and years and in most cases paying off the girls family hefty and mouth watering out of court settlements to achieve peace of mind......the list is endless......so where does an ordinary 21st century Indian achieve peace of mind and a peaceful life with a quality lifestyle to boot? It's obviously the Americas and Europe (mostly). It may seem ironic to some old timers, but it's the harsh realities of the world today.

In Kenya, For at least half of the day I don't know where my boys are playing, outside or under my neighbors bed, I'll have my old family friends coarse me into doing a BBQ for them, I'll visit my parents once a week, I'll greet everyone on the street, I'll have a deep conversation with my barber and taxi driver, I'll go to church and the pastor will call out my name, I'll find my cousin and she'll join my family to an outing and remember we have our neighbors' kid with us because he couldn't let my son's go alone, then the neighbors husband whose an aquintance will show up at my door uninvited have dinner and talk about my car. Once in a while my cousins will show up with a full band to play loud music! Sometimes I want to be alone so I go to a local coffee shop WITH MY WIFE!!

I am 85 years old and lived half my working life in Mumbai and another half in Virginia. Please DO NOT get confused with this video. Life in India and particularly in Mumbai has become extremely stressful and tiring with ONLY Negative vibrations. 24/7 is noisy, crowded, filthy, garbage all over the place, most of the neighbors are crook, no playground for children, no place for elders to relax, zero social life because everyone is running after the western lifestyle. I recommend ALL YOUNG PEOPLE TO QUIT INDIA. India is good if you know how to CHEAT, BRIBE, DO FORGERY, LIE, etc. Anyone who wants to have the QUALITY of LIFE SHOULD LEAVE INDIA IMMEDIATELY. K here. You're in an old neighborhood. Not many young people. This does not represent America, which is as large and with various cultures. Nobody I know would move there, in that neighborhood.

When I was a little girl growing up in Belize I ONLY wanted to come to America to be with my mother.. she brought me to America when I was 11 years old by the time I was 14 years old I had so much anger I ask my self, why would she bring me to America? I wanted to know why didn't she just leave me in Belize and take care of me from there. I hate it here, who would do this to their children? why would you take me from Paradise and bring me to hell... I know my mother wanted a better life for me but all I saw was loneliness anger family separated the food is not healthy the air is not healthy the education I care nothing for Meaning what I was being taught in school would not prepare me for the real world... with that being said I truly truly appreciate all the sacrifice that my mother did I love and appreciate America but I can't wait to move back home. ? Living in America is not living ? you are only surviving ?

If you watch any old newsreel films of cities from 100 years ago, the first thing you will probably notice is how many people are outside on the sidewalks, standing outside shops, talking to each other. Then compare that to film of today and the streets of most towns are empty, there is nobody outside, the only time you know people are around is when cars drive by. It's true, life in the U.S. has changed radically, people no longer socialize outside, life is inside and people avoid others.

Pretty good Adam I'd just mention a few of those things are...I don't want to say inaccurate but way more diverse. For instance French. Yes Quebec is the only French province BUT New Brunswick is the only Bilingual province and basically half and half. This is good for things like federal of provincial services because by law they must provide service in both languages but not so basically everywhere else. The problem with this is you can have an almost completely English town almost nobody speaks French and drive 15 minutes and be in a town where nobody speaks English. Research on this might be hard because a town with a French name may not have any French people in and vise versa. Also this problem is multiplied in the fact that if you Do want a French area we don't speak standard French or Quebecois but instead Le Chiac which is a difficult and confusing mix of old French and english (almost exactly like the Cajun dialect). Second part of this is that Montreal is easy to live in if you don't speak French and is so multicultural you are just apt to hear Swahili as French in public. Last part is be very careful where you move on the prairies as they have may isolated towns some that speak French also. Next is tipping I've never had to tip anyone for a haircut outside of the military and all other forms of tipping here on the east coast are purely optional and wait staff don't get upset if you don't leave a tip unless you were a jerk or left them extra work like making a big mess (I worked as cook for a while after I got out of the army and I rarely ever head staff complain) HOWEVER....tip a waitress well and she might accidentally give you 2 pieces of pie lol and tip a taxi driver well and he will not only get you the cheapest fare he will find ANYTHING you may need no questions asked. Lastly on the nice thing....we are nice for sure especially compared to our southern neighbours BUT there is a lot of passive aggressive nice that happens and this also varies greatly. For instance as a city boy of course you answered the way you did but a guy who have lived all over this country in big and small, French and English places who now has retired to a rural town I can say I find the cities quite snobby and the French and the English can be quite snobby to each other and where I live now if you asked a random stranger for 5$ chances are you would get it also driving down the road people you don't know will just wave at you as if you were the closest friends. Canada is certainly a weird place so many extremes and my advice to anyone wanting to move here is do your research and then visit and travel a bit if possible because even us Canadians can be surprised by thing or two across this gigantic country

It's true that news buzz don't do that justice and sometimes makes us wonder if our crime rate is actually increasing... although it has likely increased all around the world due to stress caused by COVID now that I think about it.\n\nI did not expect us to become number 1 still lol, we have a lack of manpower that makes our healthcare suffer (all of our jobs suffer... we NEED NEW PEOPLE!!) which is enough to make an old senior's house close permanently and because of history and current nationalism, immigration can be a super challenge for people of color. I’m a Canadian Citizen through my parent since age 5 years old and has lived in Canada almost of my life getting tired of how the system worked, deep down it’s like socialism system through the world it’s a greater country to visit but to live and raise your family it’s really a struggle almost in any aspects of area . Even though I’m working as a nursing field I realized Canada it’s really tough on work employment really discrimination etc….I’m here in USA so much freedom and life seems much decent living as long you know how to narrow it and live a peaceful life . I came to Canada when I was 9 years old with my father and sister so in some ways I was young so it was easy in a way for me, but as I got older it hit me being Spanish dominican ?? the culture different it's quite obvious, you're absolutely right people stick together in their own Community or culture, and is kind of hard to make friends, I know Spanish people here in Canada Toronto but they seem to stick to themselves and you were to think because I'm also Spanish that would have been easy for me to talk to them, but is not so sadly, without offending anyone Canada is not for anyone, you gotta be strong, Brave, quick, and smart. I remember when my family immigrated here over 15+ years ago and my brother was only 1 years old. 2 weeks after coming here he slipped on the floor and cut open his forehead on the hinges of our door and he was bleeding everywhere (he later had to get 6 stitches to fix it), my father was out working and we didn't know how to contact the police or hospital because we didn't have a home phone yet. We used our neighbors and the ambulance came and I strictly remember that because we didn't have our health cards yet they wouldn't start work even though my father said he will pay when he gets there. I remember my mother and I feeling helpless while my 1 year old brother was bleeding out (the hospital staff tried to stop the bleeding with cotton ball and bandage) and I distinctly remember that they did not start helping my brother even WHILE my father was paying but only started work after the bill was completed. Even though my family felt helpless at that time and we felt it was unfair, we never blamed Canada because it was their policy and they have every right to follow protocols. So it makes me angry to see people who walked into our country illegally getting far better treatment than my family ever got even though it might not be anything as life threatening as ours was. It makes me angry that our hard earned tax dollars are used to help people who have no motivation to help the country that gave them asylum during war.. It's actually the opposite as a lot of these families call their free housing "disgusting" and compare it to "living like a slave". I'm angry because little girls at my brothers own school are getting shoved and assaulted by refugee boys as young as 6-7 and are let off with a simple "don't do that again" and a meeting with the parents. This is not the Canada my family came to love and call home so I can't imagine the hardships of Canadians who are living here for 3, 4, 5+ generations 😔😔

I don't know what Sharia Law/ Islam is all about to hate it that much. We have Muslims in our country. At least around 20% of the population. Maybe more than Australia... but there are as many different interpretation of Islam and Sharia Law, as the Bible and Christian denominations. What you probably have is the Radical Extremist type.... The type that doesn't accept differences in culture and the population they are in. They are the minority who wants to have the majority rule... We also have problems with Radical Islam and majority of the Muslim population in my country does not accept them that much. There are certainly discrimination against Muslim, but not as much as most western countries does. My advise is to not to generalize Muslims as one type of people. There are people in that community that does not believe in extremist interpretation of the law. Second, deport or watch radical extremist as they are dangerous to any multicultural society, like the white supremacist and Neo- Nazis in the US. Some of them are citizens. Deporting your own citizen to a different country is far-fetched. Third, accept them as part of a sub- culture, having their own ways within their group, yet under the laws of the nation they are living. The way they dress, polygamy, and women's rights are just some issues that Westerners usually cringe about. But there are other religions who practice these as well. Lastly, stop hating each other because your hate will empower extremism. \nReligion is either you are born with it until you are old/ mature enough to choose or an independent choice.

These people heard Trudeau speak about open arms at the height of the Syrian refugee crisis. I don't remember his exact words but I'm sure he didn't mean come one, come all, forever and ever. Every country has immigration restrictions and it's sad that people who are uneducated or don't speak multiple languages don't have the resources to research their best options. This is where international, or bilateral assistance programs between countries need to help each other. Hell, I live in U.S., well educated, 64 yrs old and don't know specifically what our immigration laws are!
