After a couple of years Trump and co will say, that Canada started a trade war against US. Just like they say, that Ukraine and Zelenskyy started the war with Russia. And now some uf US commentators are saying the same. It’s crazy. And there will be no way to get him to remember the facts. He and all who work for him are liars and half truth tellers. I’m not sure how to deal with this. But it is VERY important for all media outlets to keep reminding the facts. Just tell what happens, so there is a record. I think that could help in the end.\nSo here are my 5p:\nUS started trade war against Canada with 25% tariffs.\nRussia annexed Crimean peninsula and attacked Ukraine in 2022. This has nothing to do with Canada or the Canadian people. This is a pure transactional move because that is how Trump sees things. He needs the money to finance his agenda and he has been told that the money does not exist in terms of what the US Congress can provide. They won't cut military spending and they wouldn't dare touch SS or Medicare. He doesn't need to worry about reelection so he couldn't care less how much pain he is inflicting on the very people who voted for him. Elections have consequences.

All I can say is I am sorry, embarrassed, and ashamed of my broken country's politicians in Washington, D.C. at present. As an American I am so disheartened about things going on at the White House. A lot of us didn’t vote for this mess and their stupidness. I am so unhappy and disgusted. Americans obviously didn’t understand what tariffs are, didn’t get that it’s an import tax which they must pay on goods and products they buy from Canada, a tax which tRump collects from Americans and uses to pay for tax-cuts for the richest citizens. But one more thing Americans don’t get is that before this fateful day an unofficial boycott against ALL US goods has been growing since tRump insulted Canada’s Prime Minister and threatened Canada’s sovereignty—whereas Canada’s official countervails ( which only kicked-in today )only target certain US goods, not ALL of them like ordinary Canadians are doing in growing numbers right now—in fact, the imposition of tRump’s tariffs today has only made the unofficial boycott bigger and more organized. It’s heartening that so many nations have solicited Canada, offering alternative sources for common US exports to Canada —citrus fruits, pharmaceuticals, and other manufactures, to name a few.\n\nI don’t think Canadians even realize how big this unofficial boycott is getting because it’s growing so fast. I’ve never seen a surge in Canadian patriotism like this. Never in my seven decades —which includes the two Referenda on Quebec separation. On top of this there's Tulsi Gabbard who the Ruzzians themselves have publicly stated IS an Agent of theirs for the last Decade. Ah yes, the trade war that Canada will surely lose. I love Canada. Wouldn't trade it for the world, but this is a losing battle by which citizens on both sides will feel the full effect. Trump appeasing Putin is a chess move, that the PM seems to be overlooking. The US can't afford to go to war with Russia, but at the same time, it needs resources within Russia's neighboring region. So the US will do what they always do, and had people listened to what Kissinger had to say, they'd be better prepared for this. Nonetheless, let's stand proud and strong, and come together as Canadians in order to get through this.

There's many reasons not to like Trudeau up here in Canada, many of which are the reason he'll (rightfully) no longer be the PM next week. As a conservative I hated him for SNC-Lavalin (among other scandals), and the fact that his inexperience with the economy Harper left him is probably part of why this trade war is going to hurt more than it could have, and the fact that he's often been kind of a phony more concerned with looking and sounding good for the press cameras. Not this time. Nothing phony here; I've got to give credit to him for capturing the national mood pretty much perfectly with this speech. Good on him. \n\nAnd congratulations as well to Donald for pretty much handing the Liberals their best shot at a fourth term, too. What an absolute idiot. I really want to be a part of Canada. They have the most educated culture and the largest middle class in the world right now. And I respect them as a people. Damn in America, what the hell is wrong with us? Our people are so ignorant that we think that the Richard just took over who very clearly have been doing as harm for 50 years are going to solve our problems by alienating us from the world and costing us more money? And firing us in mass? doesn’t anybody read history? This is not new. This is a classic playbook. It sucks for the general population. Most of us are the general population. That means that the people who are supporting this most of you are dumb. No matter what era that has existed there have always been workers against worker rights and thank God they lost because we would be worse off if they’d won. It sucks as they hold us down while we bring them up every single time. I’m real sick of the naysayers.

In professional wrestling terms, the U.S. has turned “heel,” but the now occupant of the White House, who should’ve never returned, always has been one. I don’t understand his appeal, and why so many Americans have been sucked into his orbit.\nI don’t want this, many tRump voters don’t want this. This’ll adversely affect the world, and will do nothing to reduce the nearly $2 trillion deficit. tRump’s tax cuts for the wealthy, and fElon Musk’s austerity measures will, and already are raising unemployment, and will further increase the divide between the wealthiest and most marginalized among us.\nThe U.S. siding with Russia, the two countries having the biggest nuclear stockpiles, is a threat to the world.\nIf WW3 starts, it won’t be because Zelenskyy won’t act to end a war in which his country was unnecessarily invaded, it’ll be because of Russia’s invasion of it, and the U.S. turning its back on its now former allies.\nThose of us in the states who oppose tRump and his alliance with Putin need to continue to stand up, speak out, and perhaps even do more. We’ve never seen anything like this before. Hate to say it, but this could very well be the beginning of the end of what was once a great nation. Just curious why so many support Canada as Americans? If you look at the spending and trade throughout the world, America and Americans have been footing the bill for a long time. What exactly is wrong with America putting America first and getting a fair deal with the rest of the world we do business with? It's our taxpayer dollars that fund this and we have been overpaying for decades now. Honest question.
