You think at this age moving abroad to another country to work and settle down is a wise decision. So don't make a wrong move abroad as a married person or as woman to settle down outside Canada, because its the same everywhere. I have known people coming back to Canada as they grew old outside. Remember there is a difference between making money and secure life in the country which gave you identity. You and your parent were lucky you left Ukraine at the right time otherwise you would have been dead there by Russian bombing. So be patient and don't be lured by greed elsewhere as all those glitters are not gold. Problems are now everywhere ?

I have lived in Canada for 50 years, and its important to remember why the TFW (Temp Foreign Workers) were needed in the first place, namely a lot of (wealthy) Fast Food franchise owners were unable to run their businesses due to a shortage of a reliable workforce, the Tim Horton's beside me closed in 2022 due to 100% turnover and poor customer service, and that was the fate of many other franchisees, since White Canadians view the fast food industry as a stepping stone to better jobs, much to the chagrin of millionaire franchisees, and i dont mean that negatively, you have to be rich to buy a franchise licence in the first place, and now they wont even hire White canadians, since they can pay TFWs less than the minimum wage, so it was used as a tool for wage suppression, and the TFWs are viewed as scabs who are helping to keep wages down and that is fueling racism.

Canada is the second largest country in the world in terms of area alone with a VERY small tax paying population. We only have 18 million taxpayers (remember the other half are children or senior citizens living on their pensions). We NEED immigrants to invest in businesses, to pay taxes, to work and do all the jobs we don’t have enough Canadians for. If we didn’t have immigrants, Canada would fall apart as our birth and death rates are low. We need to build more towns and cities or increase incentives for immigrants to move our dying out towns.

I grew up in Canada and I'm white. When I went to high school everyone who I met grew up in the country so it was very easy to socialize and make friends. When I went to college it was a very big culture shock because everyone traveled to Canada from another country mostly India, Korea, China and the Philippines. Most indians/immigrants ive interacted with are insanely smart people. In high school all the native Canadians were a lot less intelligent vaping is a huge issue but everyone was highly social so I was able to fit in easily even though im a pretty unlikeable person. The problem is that in college I couldn't really make any friends because of the cultural differences and since native Canadians are very rare where I was studying the culture was also kinda different. So it kinda makes me feel like im an alien in my own country. But honestly everyone kept to them selves a lot more. There are a bunch of other factors like people hyper focusing on studying but I wish people would just socialize more instead of just doing their own thing.\n\nI still remember back in high school when people used to know about everything that happened if there was something that happened everyone would know about it because everyone would talk about it there were group chats with tons of people in it where people would organize things or share memes. I think people should take inspiration from this and probobly do this more often but now its honestly just very lonely.

Grass is always greener... I lived in Europe (Switzerland and Luxembourg) for about one year just to realize that Canada is what I missed the most cause it is home... You will likely return one year from living abroad and remember my comment...

I grew up in Montreal and left to go to graduate school in California. I have since moved to Las Vegas (California was a dissaster runned by Democrats who screwed up everything) and everything fell into place and I am extremely happy. I make a good living here and I can usually make a same day or next day appointment to see a doctor when I need one. I remember how bad government runned healthcare in Canada was and that it used to take months to make an appointment to see a doctor. The medical system in the USA is top notch as long as you live in a Republican dominated state. I guess that's the difference between Canada's government runned healthcare and the USA's private healthcare. Anytime the government operates a system it is a dissaster. If you're looking to move somewhere I would recommend Las Vegas.

I have been shocked to learn how Canadians have given up r surrended their freedoms to the politicians. Legalizing hard drugs and the permissive application of the law is disturbing. I've always had a high regard for Canada, but giving up the right to protect yourself or your family is too much, too draconian. And the Universal Health Care is great, if you are healthy, but if you are sick or hurt- not so much. Wishing you luck finding a better culture. ( I have been equally shocked at Australia. Yet when the prices of housing was going up, many homeowners loved it, even though it meant that the poor, the actual poor and not you lot, were stacked like firewood into smaller and smaller rooms with no AC so it was hot in the summer and freezing in the winter and the slum lords are having a hey day. \nThe actual first nations people are homeless and being killed daily and are arrested for being poor daily but you lot think you have it bad. \n\nSorry, when non first nations people say that they will leave Canada because its not how they remember it when they were kids and its worse now so they will jump ship to gentrify other nations, I just shake my head and hold open the door as you leave the nation and wonder at your arrogance and egoism.

As a 42 year old Canadian (born & raised).. lived in Northeastern Ontario my entire life. Canada is unrecognizable. I miss the country I grew up in. Heck, I'd even take a version of the country I can vividly remember from a mere 20 years ago. With how inflation, homelessness, immigration and leftist/globalist policies have destroyed Canada, my partner and I are doing our research in hopes of finding a better country to live in. Even the US (despite its downsides) is a much better country to live in (financially)..

Leaving may solve your problems but only for very short time, because whatever place you end up in, it may be no better, and good deal worse, since you won't be a citizen there. In Canada they have little toy schoolhouses you can burn down on some holiday (can't remember which) and you can form dykes in your backyard and pour in water in the winter to make your own ice skating rink. We had not communicated in a long time BUT... I think you were surprized how much you enjoyed to exploration of Russia a few years ago but quality of life was very good then but even better now, but retaining the unmatched access to culture, very low cost of living much lower crime rate than Canada/US/Europe, and cost of living about 1/10th of Canada, great health and easy to get a residency and citizenship due to being from Ukraine originally. For your travels, it is a little more complicated due to US sanctions but from here in St Petersburg it is really easy to travel by bus to Estonia and fly anywhere in the world. Estonia is the cheapest cost of living in the Baltic. I have flown to California several times using that route and to London the flight is $50 euros. \nAlthough you explored a lot here there is so much more to see and experience.\nThere is no doubt the western countries that relied on cheap labor and resources from colonies are all in a downward spiral and the east is rising. All the BRICS countries have positive growth in quality life and economic growth and a total of 108 countries have either applied or expressed serious interest in joining the largest trade block in history while the US empire fades at an accellerating rate. I would not go back the the crime, homelessness, anger, poverty of the US but have family business to take care of every 4-5 years. I was born in Montreal in the mid 50s and growing up it truly was a free country with plenty of opportunity. Graduating from Sir George Williams University I was able to purchase a brand new Mustang and live in my own new construction 2 bedroom luxury apt. Food and going to clubs was never an issue and as I had worked during the summers, I had no student debt. Most Canadians back then were from European backgrounds and safety was never an issue. In the year 2000 I left for the United States for good. I worked , lived and retired in a small university town and have a conceal carry permit to protect myself even here. I remember when you didn't even need a passport to go back and forth to Canada . The great replacement has hit Europe the hardest but Canada is a close second. If I were to leave here it would probably be for Thailand or the Philippines where there is a reasonable cost of living and safer conditions. I feel for you as I too can never go home, not the home I came from.

Although I agree Canada is in trouble, don't be fooled to think other countries are doing better. Always remember running from a problem and thinking the grass is greener elsewhere is a good way to end up exhausted and disheartened.

For me i don't think Canada is really bad at all i know everything is becoming expensive but not everything yes the house is expensive but for me right now i am already retired I'm 66 years old my house i already paid off i live in milton just outside of Toronto the only problem is my two sons but both of my son have a good job my oldest son he worked as computer software developer and my youngest son he worked as computer data in downtown Toronto now my plan i want to go back to my birth country Cambodia for my retirement from November to March April I come back to Canada to see my childrens and grandchildrens this is just plan but remember Canada still the best country to live compare to some other countries good luck to you Alina . Canada is so spread out that it is difficult to get anywhere without having a car . The airlines are all fleeing service to the small cities. That is a big problem for people who want to travel internationally. I remember when I lived in Quesnel BC in the 1970’s , there was a PWA Boeing 737 - 200 with daily service to Vancouver. Now there is no longer any flights to Vancouver from Quesnel . Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal are the only options for international travellers.

So sad to see, can remember Canada was the place most wants to emigrate to, democracy has failed spectacularly and there is nothing the normal folks can do about it, the ones with capitol now controls the political parties and MEDIA.
