This country is so in a wrong path and I get it, cost of living is rising everywhere but Canada seems to be bad in all sectors of life, not just for being expensive….what is the point of paying for a place to live pretty much as an animal for 70% of your salary and then go downtown and look around homeless and drug addicts everywhere to interacting superficially with cold people in a weather that’s freezing for more than half a year to never being able to fly anywhere as ticket for a three hour flight costs $1000…..oh and endure all of this for a $40k/annually salary after tax if you’re lucky. Not your first world category type of country but be advertised for what it really is….a 3rd world.

I was always a hard core conservative, actually voted and liked Harper. I left in 2016 and have no regrets. Because there is too many people going after too few jobs. But instead of Canada's Universities lowering tuition fees and accepting more students into business programs, Canada continues to raise tuition fees and reject more and more applicants than ever into Canada's universities business programs. Okay so no 100 k wont' get you that life you dream of, you'll get by in BC, but you can't buy anything. You can rent, you need 200 k now in BC, Kelowna average house is 1.1 m, Vancouver 1 bedroom is 3000 +, nobody wants to live in a jail cell, but maybe some wierdo's do? I don't know. \n\nIf your working and making 100 k in Vancouver, your working likely many hours for that, meaning there is no pay off, no car, rent a small apartment, have little savings.\n\nNow here's the REAL catch. If you make what some think is rich in Canada say 300 k a year. That works out to 182,000 after taxes, pension etc. Now homes in Vancouver, well let's maybe look at small condo's, hmm lets say a 850 sq foot condo sets you back 900 k, monthly mortgage is 6000, that's 72,000 a year, insurance, no car okay can't afford it, maybe a small car, 1000 a month insurance, payments fuel etc, cable, internet phone, etc etc food, another 2000 for a family of 3, wife one child. Thats now 9000 a month, dental, eye glasses, clothes, sports, other, another 1000 a month, 10,000 a month = 120,000 a year to live in a small 2 bedroom condo in Vancouver. Oh and condo fees 500 per month, so 126,000 a year, no extras yet.\n\nmeaning if you make 300 k a year and lets add on JOB expense, usually with high income comes some expenses, lets call it 6000 a year, suits, whatever. Thats 132,000 minus the after tax income of 182 and your left with 50,000 per year for savings and xmas, travel etc.\n\nNow you make 300 k a year and you live in a small 2 bedroom apartment and maybe some day, 10 years down the road you can buy a home. \n\nAnd the max you can afford on 300 k a year is around 1 million after a 100 k deposit.\n\nNow if you make more than that, there is NO reason to live in Canada, in BC they take 48 % of my income and what do I get lol, zilch, bad health care haha fun,

In Canada they have little toy schoolhouses you can burn down on some holiday (can't remember which) and you can form dykes in your backyard and pour in water in the winter to make your own ice skating rink. The thing is we have to voting. Governments that are actually going to do something to make things right agand we now have a world economy. It's not just a Canadian economy. We have to play by their rules. In order to survive, there's a lot of greedy people out there. And we're the ones in the middle. And that's the way it is until we change it ourselves. I'm from Texas. As a young fool I married a Canadian woman in 79. I'm a military man, army strong. So, many deployments all over the world. Oh, wife was also military, Canadian military. Our time together was limited. She left the military in 1990, got sick with cancer in 93, died in 93. I moved to Canada then, to be with the kids. Kids grew up, and I moved away. I recently returned to Canada after roughly 30 years away. I'm also leaving. I can't stand this place. And I've learned that the insanity in Canada is worldwide. I don't recognize the UK, Italy, Poland, Germany. Everything has changed. Right now I'm in Texas panhandle, on the ranch my father and his father ran. Thousands of acres, horses and cattle and dogs. I almost never see the neighbors. I love it.

Took us 2 years to evict my dads tenant. I was shocked to find out that just getting eviction order isn’t the end, you need a final final eviction notice without return to court and straight to sheriff. AND Peel region only has 2 sheriffs to conduct eviction and that can take 10 weeks plus additional costs. Oh don’t forget, if the tenant claims to have cancer that buys them additional time in unit, and if proven they get at least one year free additional. Canada is a SHITSHOW.
