New immigrants from India are 100% responsible for this. They are crossing the railway tracks like they do in India. They are urinating in subway stations as if it is their private bathroom. They are defecating on public beaches. They're driving without any regard to public safety. The sooner they are removed from Canadian society we all will have a better quality of life.

First of all great video. As a Canadian to immigrants I have a few things to say. Most Canadians are either first generation Canadian or perhaps second generation. The major gripe I have is my parents came here, respected the culture, contributed very hard while also embracing others. Not to mention didn't break any law. Now the major issue is many immigrants (not just Indians) come here and are infesting our country with what they claim to have hated in their own country. At the end of the day the government has handled the immigration status horribly. A few bad apples do not warrant the rest. You touched on it best. Stereotypes is something all humans do. I know many Indians that truely hate other Indians. \n\nMy only advice to anyone wanting to go to a foreign land is respect the culture. Become a productive contributor, learn the language, embrace the new chapter.

It's to scapegoat the vulnerable for the poor decisions made by those in charge. Birthing tourism, drugs brought into Canada by Asian cartels resulting in soaring housing prices, illegal Asian migrants from USA who cross the Peace Arch border looking like tourists, bring in tens of millions of immigrants who don't meet immigration criteria, build an international school for Japanese students since the 1990s...and when jobs are at a low and you need to speak Mandarin and Cantonese as a job requirement and the housing is bursting at the seams, you blame the new vulnerable immigrants working at fast food restaurants to explain why you need to speak Mandarin and Cantonese for job.

I grew up in Vancouver, Richmond and South Surrey/White Rock. I have white, asian and indian friends. I have the same group of employees for my business. The issue is the new immigrants are not vetted the same way they used to be. Its not that its Indians, Chinese, etc, etc, its about who they are letting in specifically. The standards changed when the Liberals took power again in 2016. Nothing against Indians other than the standard of who we let in. We are letting in the lower grade of individuals than what we did before. My IT guys, who are Indian, agree. They say the government lowered the standard. My opinion is based upon asking my friends and employees what they think and know. They know its a big problem. And it doesnt take a person to be racist to have these observations. You just need to look around and ask questions.

I was never racist or taught to see people of other ethnicities or religions as inferior so I don't hate Indians, nor do I show them disrespect unless warranted but the rampant abuse of our systems has messed up so many things. I know of large families of Indians who came as asylum seekers who'd come over separately while claiming different names so when they all come together some families are getting $30k or more per month just for being here. They drive expensive new luxury vehicles and mostly wear expensive designer clothes and are given homes while at the same time us Canadians born and raised here are struggling to even get to eat well every day or have a home to begin with. It's not entirely the fault of Indians, the blame also needs to be shared by our gov't as well since they opened the borders and have mostly waived the process of vetting who comes into our country. It's never a bad thing to have people who genuinely add to the collective greatness of a country but we have let in too many freeloaders and even criminals, the Indian gangs extorting businesses for millions in BC and Alberta for example. Nothing wrong with Indian immigrants as long as we can balance the needs and safety of everyone involved as well. Right now there is no balance and the results are catastrophic. Canada never used to be host to so much divide and hatred as it is now, we can thank Trudeau and his people for that.

It appears that the huge increase of immigrants to Canada came at the expense of poor screening process by Immigration Canada. It is true that you can't demand higher education for people you expect to perform menial jobs, but no one wants these jobs especially in a country with such high living costs, and such poor outlook of social advancement. Every society on earth have a lower social segment of uneducated and poor individuals. Unfortunately a portion of these lower class Indians landed in Canada, and aren't contributing to their new country, or to India itself. As usual, they generally are single young males; a similar situation can be appreciated in Europe with Muslim and African individuals. I can't say how many times I've received calls or e-mails from scammers from India, Pakistan, Russia, Nigeria, and China. We, in the West as common citizens, are the targets of criminals around the world trying to exploit us. If landed immigrants aren't of any positive influence to Canada, they should be denied citizenship and expelled from the country.

I am West Indian, descendent of India indentured workers. I love my country of birth, Canada where I have lived since 3, and I have much love and pride in my Indian roots. That being said, I have come to feel embarrassed of being taken for East Indian by other Canadian people. I moved to small city outside of Toronto in 2004. I loved it here! People were so welcoming, kind, friendly. I felt no prejudicial treatment from any of my neighbours. \nFast forward, my little city is now overrun with new Indian immigrants. I can’t tell if I am in the heart of Toronto or Brampton or my city of Oshawa. \nThe Indian people I encounter in the grocery store are pushy, have no Canadian manners, speak their language loudly, come to the stores with their entire family which fills up the isles and cause long lines. All the sale items are sold out by the time you get there because Indians are filling their cart with as much as they can purchase of any of the on sale merchandise. This never happened before. \nI am also saddened by being assaulted when an Indian person passes by and wave of body order sickens me. I don’t understand what the cause of that is. Not bathing regularly or not using deodorant. But I notice this everywhere I come in contact with Indians, men and women, young and old. \nI feel like I will be mistaken for East Indian myself which I have been when I went to the hospital. I was treated like I couldn’t speak English lol\nThe worst is the Muslims, they are the rudest the way they fill every available free space, make women feel uncomfortable and are just intrusive and unable to incorporate themselves with other Canadians. They also have a superiority attitude. \nThis is a plan honest list of observations. I hope they learn to integrate with Canadian culture, improve their language skills and learn proper hygiene. Present Canadian govt is dependent on DNP of Jagmeet Singh (Khalistani supporter). He can make Trudeau dance to his tune. The process of assimilation takes a long time and in the meantime there would be some hiccups to which the society will eventually adapt. Every new immigrant group faces hostility from the earlier settled immigrants. It's much harder if the new immigrants don't look like the earlier settled immigrants. This is natural !!!.

Sorry but Germany is a completely unfriendly country for immigrants. They do not even allow you to use your own driving licence and require you to apply for a new one like you are 17 years old. They don't trust you! \n\nYou then start your driving license process but they cannot arrange an exam date for you, because they lack examiners. They allow you to apply to a driving school in your own neighborhood only and you cannot apply to another one even in the next neighborhood a few kilometers away from your home. So if you live in the city center you are dead, you cannot find an empty exam slot. This is my second year in Germany, the officers and my driving schools have made 2 mistakes and 1 cancellation throughout my process and I could not have my practical exam yet after 10 months of endeavour. If I fail I should wait for another 3 months to find a new exam date! This is insane. \n\nSorry but how dare you can steal my so precious time? If you want skilled workers you should treat them as skilled workers not as 17 years old teens.

There is also the tendency to view the situation from the new immigrants pwrspective and in that the perspective of the established generation and the one they gave burth to and the promises made gets left out or highly diluted.

The Canadians have no idea about over crowding of immigrants. Come to Europe and open your eyes to the problems here. The EU which is only slightly larger than Canada (9.9m sq km vs 10.1m sq km) but has had over 30 million immigrants since the 1980s. Canada is a vast empty country compared to any EU Country, there is loads of land there to build new homes, but they don't for some unknown reason.

Why is this even a question that needs to be asked? Even if you ignore the cultural, social integration issues, it's a simple numbers game. Too many people with an infrastructure that cannot support this sudden influx. Immigrants were not betrayed, they were not forced to come to a new country. It is not a guarantee or a given for someone to live in a country that they were not born in.

The main thing is that you can't give new immigrants citizenship in 3-5 years!! They need to be in the country for at least 10 years and speak proper English to qualify for citizenship. \nSame goes for student VISAs!

As a Canadian its clear that immigration has got out of control. We should be accepting 1/10 of the number of incoming indian immigrants. I understand that many immigrants from India are hardworking and are good people but the behaviour of new indians are creating divisions in our society. You people need to realize that the decades of trust and reputation you have built as a collective is now in a gutter and ruined. My neighborhood has a silent agreement in place that we dont rent or sell to immigrants and we have practically 0 crime. Meanwhile other neighborhoods in our city allow immigrants and are much more dangerous.

We have immigrants coming to Canada from all over the world and there are a lot of students too, but there is something terribly wrong with people from India. When coming to a new country, you have to come to a point where you respect that country's law and your values too. You cannot impose your laws and values on them. Freedom is given here but don't abuse it. Lastly, live for a little bit under the sun and stop this race mentality.

I love it how the video conveniently omits the reason why the housing supply is so inadequately low in Canada - real-estate developers and rental agencies lobbying all levels of government to keep zoning laws draconian and to make new construction increadibly difficult. For example, an enormous proportion of Toronto's urban area is still zoned exclusively for single-family housing. The landlords, who are currently extracting record profits from regular people with no sign of decline, are more than happy to shift the blame towards immigrants, and it saddens me to see that respectable media outlets like the Guardian are becoming a part of it.

The reason that the cost of living in greater Vancouver & Toronto is outrageous is simple: a Liberal government long ago enshrined the 'right' of new immigrants to go where they felt like, rather than where the country needed them. Simple supply & demand economics did the rest. They did this to sew up the immigrant vote. I'm bitter about it because I lost my life savings investing in a 27-suite apartment building in Winnipeg and, while Vancouver & Toronto were booming too much, there was actual out-migration from Manitoba, property values fell and I lost my apartment building. (It's very disheartening to pump more money into something when you have negative equity!) Thanks for nothing, Liberals, NDP & Conservatives too (the latter being too chicken to ever mention the issue.. they're all courting the immigrants more than the good of the country).

I have been living in Germany for 7 years now. I am only here because of my husband as he is doctor and he is a german citizen. However, living here has been horrible most of the time. Germans are not the most welcoming nor friendliest. On top that Germans complain why AÜSLANDER are not integrating the language. 1st it is hard and 2nd i think the english which be adopted into schools. Hopefully maybe it will attract more Skilled immigrants. Who has the time to speak a new language if you are looking for a job.

For me a Québécois, we missed the boat in 1995. Too bad if you don’t like it but we got screwed by newly arrived immigrants back then and we are being drowned by immigrants now. The difference is that you too in the ROC are being drowned. I am a Quebec nationalist, it’s in my guts. My family has roots going back to New France. Canada has always been an imposition for us just as we to the First Nations I guess. That’s unfortunately neither here nor there at this point in history and I apologize for it. I could blame the Trudeau government but any government in Canada would do the same for neoliberal/conservative ideological reasons. We have a neoconservative government right now in Quebec. They have practically killed our nation from the inside in order to discredit the social democratic and socialist tendencies that did so much to develop this nation. Since for me this place is where I feel the most a part of and have understood long ago that the ROC had done everything to negate us as a people a nation and the dream of an independent country with close ties to the ROC is and probably never was in the cards, I have started hoping for some kind of political union with mother France since it has become painfully clear that Canada as a strong bicultural self respecting truly independent country is a bygone notion. unfortunately there are now thousands of old and new immigrants left, leaving and not coming back coz of hardship in this country, safety is not the concern nowadays but survival on food,hospitalization and cheaper country to live. Is everyone bad at math and economics? If you have too many people in a country….you drive up the costs of housing, food, etc because of “supply and demand”…..then as a result, most people get poorer. Only the very rich benefit. But if you LIMIT immigration numbers…costs for everything is lower and everyone gets a chance to use the extra money to grow and expand the economy that will benefit both the citizens AND the new immigrants. I really believe the globalists have the sinister agenda to erode the middle class and small businesses…to weaken their voters who will have to rely heavily on their government for everything. Can you see where this is going?? This is deliberate!

They started a classic Ponzi Scheme. An immigrant brings in Cash which they have to spend here which gives a boost to the economy ( when you have hundreds of thousands of newcomers coming in). \nBut the fools didn't realize at the beginning that it is a pyramid scheme where you need new people to keep joining and with time you need more and more people to keep that pyramid from falling flat. Now they can't suddenly stop adding more people but the more join (new immigrants), the worse it becomes for everyone in the scheme (Canadian Residents).

I just moved back to the US after 2 years in Berlin. \n\nI spoke a little German, did my best to integrate into the city culture and gave it my best shot.\n\nBerlin is very interesting, food scene and summer scene is great! We loved the city. \n\nWe left because all the “free” services were extremely inconvenient to access, housing is very difficult and very expensive for new immigrants, I experienced quite a bit of racism. \n\nOverall I have lived and worked in several cities in several countries, Germany did not feel friendly towards me in spite of my best efforts. I had the privilege of choice so I left.

Statistics show that half of the new immigrants in the photo op at the end will have voluntarily left Canada within the next 5 -10 years. Many to the US, and most of the rest back to their home countries, as they will find that Canada is not a place to come to to get ahead. Canada is over-hyped for sure. I know, I came to Canada and then left after 10 years to the US, where opportunities are far, far better. Save yourselves a decade of wasted time and come to the US straight away.

Couple that with a low-interest rate policy post GFC and leave rates for that low for that long and you are going to witness an epic housing crisis. But not just that - these new immigrants become fodder of cheap labor that pushes out our very own Canadian citizens from these positions, with the more marginalized ones ending up on the streets. \n \nThere is a Motel 6 in my neighborhood that has been taken over by the Canadian government and converted to temporary housing for new immigrants. All paid for by Canadian taxpayers. I’m not Muslim but I can understand some of these reasons why you’d want to leave Canada…Canadas not merely diverse anymore it’s diluted, money & bills culturalism is the real identity…it’s hard then ever to acquire personal wealth in the socialist nation. Still one of the cleanest & safest though…isolated crimes yes, bigoted & discriminatory somewhat but the irony is it’s mostly from the new immigrants that bring it from their own war torn etc countries. I don’t thing anybody loves the cold.

You can't build an economy through population growth when the government decides to bring in 3% of the population per year in low skill, temporary students and workers to help inefficient businesses suppress wages for low skill work.\nYou can't build housing when the fees and taxes on each new build are equivalent to 30 years of property taxes. \nYou can't build housing when zoning only makes highrises with 400-500 sqft units financially viable, which are then bought by wealthy homeowners to rent out for profit. \n\nThese policies are designed to benefit wealthy incumbents (mostly boomers and seniors) and are targeted to transfer labour and income from younger people and new entrants (immigrants) to the wealthiest people at the top. \n\nThe people who benefit represent a large voting bloc and most politicians are from this class of people who are making out like bandits. \n\nThis is why nothing is changing.

Canada is caught in a trap. We need new immigrants because our demographic is shrinking, Canada's birth rate is only 1.33. But we haven't kept up with public services and housing to meet the demands of the new people. This causes unsustainable house price, healthcare and infrastructure issues.

I am an immigrant who moved to Canada about two decades ago, worked day and night now I can't even rent a bachelor room and my fridge is empty since few years, while new immigrants gets all the luxury and 15k credit card, living in Canada is like dying every minute not to be able to support my child and his activities.

If immigration were economically beneficial then GDP per capita would be rising. It is not. GDP per capita is falling. This means that new immigrants contribute, on average, less than the people already here. That's just math.
