I have so much respect for the Canadians! You do what you have to do to protect your country, it used to be the American way too! Not one American can blame you for protecting yourself even if it is going to hurt. Hypocrites are our Canadian politicians and Governments- Provincial and Federal, as they allow Canadian Companies to off shore numerous services and jobs - such as IT (software development) and get no benefit in return, except for big profits to CEOs and shareholders. So a huge number (over 900,000+ - see Kings College report) of young Canadian graduates are unemployed, yet the Federal Govt. keep fast tracking immigrants into Canada. What Trump seems to try to get at most is the unfair act of the USMCA. Most trades benefited Canada, while Canada refused to provide the same fair trades. Sometimes Trump does say things that may have gone off track like fentyl handling on Canada's end and border handling. It seems like our borders at the time were less strict on the American side versus the Canadian side of the border. Trump did state multiple times that most countries like Canada were unfair to USA. Even with the USMCA, America got screwed by Mexico as will. America has been there helping and supporting and submitting to every country. Yet failed to support our own people when we need it, especially to clear up our own debts. Sadly, America is falling behind due to poor handling of Government Democrat corruption. I am neutral as both parties don't always provide the best solution for everyone. You have to pick who can help the American people. Seeing how corrupt the Democrats has ran America and the defacto behind of all the wars and money laundering has surprised me, and I hope the change with Trump will help everyone realize how screwed we all are in correcting those corruption that isn't really needed.

What more can we say about the stupidity of the puppet occupying the White House. His ignorance has been described in so many different (yet accurate) ways. In my eyes there is but one answer and that is that he is working with Russia and China to destabilize the world economy. Our DOJ dropped the ball. Remember when this same fellow froze protesters bank accounts and began collecting peoples weapons? Yet, he has the gull to talk about dictators. Trump actually wants to avoid WWIII and I hope what his administration does will bring an end to the war. Though, I do agree he should be more tough on Putin. That being said, I do agree that the crossings from Canada are not nearly as significant as compared to our southern border. It would be nice to see more from Canada in their investments to secure the border and stop crossings, cartel movements, and drug operations. The US has spent more than 409 billion since 2003 on such operations. Regardless, I feel for you Canadians and it sucks that it has come to this and I hope we keep strong relations in the future. Hopefully we can come to a fair deal soon. Mexico and China are the big players that do not do nearly enough to prevent these crimes. In fact, the Mexican government helps the cartels by not trying to stop them. China's lack of regulation on the ingredients to make fentanyl contribute to a large extent to this tragedy as well.

I thought the fentanyl originates from China, yet Trump's tariffs on China are 10% vs. the 25% on Canada and Mexico. Why is Trump sucking up so hard on Russia and China?

I see a LOT of emotions here in the comments from people who like to tout where they're from for some really weird reason. I imagine to represent the soap box they stand upon. I find it ironic people are giving underhanded insults to Donald Trump by comparing how Trudeau speaks, yet I can almost guarantee those same people brag about how they refuse to listen to a word Donald Trump says. So its a really silly way to try to insult someone. Also just checked some of my stocks daily returns. Up over 2%. So he was wrong within the first 10 minutes. I suspect the market will become more bullish as some of the companies that have made deals to create factories in the US complete them and start churning out products made locally.

This trade war is only going to bring True Americans, Canadians and Mexicans closer together in solidarity against the Trump Regime. Our shared suffering will draw us together and create a unified force against Donald Trump the likes of which no-one has yet seen arrayed against a particular regime since World War 2.

As an American, it pains me to see Canada show such poise and leadership. We're wasting our lives and future hoping that our government will save us, yet it digs us deeper into ignorance and suffering.

Tariffs on Canada would likely reduce real gross domestic product to zero in 2025 if implemented beyond a year and lead to a 2% contraction in 2026 with a peak unemployment rate of more than 8%. Trump told Canada if you did TWO THINGS, there would be no tariffs on Canada. One, stop illegal immigrants from pouring into the USA from Canada. Two, stop illegal drugs from coming into the USA from Canada. Did Trudeau comply with President Trump's request? If so, there must be a lack of communication to verify what has transpired. If not, then Trump imposed tariffs for lack of compliance. Now, if Canada has already complied yet the Trump admin imposed tariffs anyway, then that is a slap in the face to our neighbors to the north and the American people should be outraged and let Trump know it.

Trump isn't listening, he's preoccupied with all that $$$ Money putins giving him for turning against Ukraine and the western alliance, putin has deep pockets and trump will do anything for some of it..\nThe tarrifs, talk about Gaza, Panama, Greenland, his mate Musk and the Billions he's supposedly found, it's merely a Distraction while his deal with putin is established & underway.\nPutin was right in 2022 with talk about a new world order, yet who thought it would turn out this way..

God bless the brave people of Canada for standing up to our unstable president and vice president. I am sad for the country I call home. I am still at a loss and feel very unsettled that Donald Trump was elected president. His presidency is marked by retaliation and actions that are ego boosting for him. Yet, many people don’t see it this way ?‍♀️. I am hoping and praying that other countries remember that not everyone is on board with Donald Trump and his party.
