I’m Cuban but moved to Canada when I was 9. Now I am 25. Canada for sure has its issues, and I do want to leave one day, but not because I think Canada is so broken that the only solution is to leave, I just cannot take this cold for the rest of my life. With that being said, so many Canadians have no clue just how good we have it here, it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t complain in hopes to improve, but just to serve as a reminder, that compared to majority of the world, we are so lucky.

Hi Dee, kudos to you for this info. I must say. Does this apply in all provinces in Canada, or its peculiar to specific provinces, besides what jobs would or could be easily gotten according to provinces? I'm an optimistic person, however, I wana believe that specific provinces might not have the luxury of providing some of the jobs you mentioned here owing to certain factors. From a U.K perspective Canada was seen as a paradise in the 90s. A perfect combination of anglo and European culture with non of the negatives of the U.S

Canada is a mess. All they build is luxury condos that most can't afford. Food is sky high, and greedy politicians don't seem to care as long as they keep growing their own bank accounts. The corruption is starting to really show.

Yes , housing price in Canada is high but it is a lot higher in China even in tier 3 cities in China. Employment inequality? Have you looked at the job posts in China? Only people dumb enough to move to Canada are poor 3rd worlders expecting to not end up at timhortans living with 10 other suckerrs in an apartment. Rich or skilled workers avoid this place cause pay is a fraction of what it is in the states.

And, people come to Canada expecting to find a home and a prosperous job, but consider working in the trades, a key element to building homes, is not what they want to do for work. Too many don’t want to do manual labour. They want “easy” jobs because labour is beneath them.

Many Canadians are leaving Canada, most of them highly skilled. Reasons are the expense of living here is astronomical and we have a totalitarian liberal/ndp government ben ton making the country as miserable as possible to live in. More are leaving and not being replaced by the equally skilled, quite the opposite. Good luck finding a house.

I immigrated to Canada in 1992 and I left Canada last year and moved to Spain. The best thing I ever did. Canada has become dictatorship under the Trudeau regime. Too many immigrants abusing the system and trying to make Canada like where they came from, particularly, East Indian and Muslims. They refuse to integrate and adapt to Canada.

I remember Canada from the 50s to now so far. The Trudeau government has destroyed Canada. I have lived long and can see what has happened through out the years.

Canada is awful. Since I moved here 1,5 years ago I’m just struggling with the depression all this time. There is no joy in this country, no feeling of safety. Crime is happening all the time. I don’t feel safe walking on the streets. My salary is low bcz no employer is willing to pay good money to an immigrant. I’m not able to afford a car but the public transport is just terrible! I can barely afford to split the rent with my partner. Barely can save any money. As an immigrant I will never be able to buy a property here. I lived and worked in another country and I was able to save so much money and have a great life, travel, buy food, have fun. Here I am not able to do this.

Canada and Canadian are soooooo boring. USA is much better country to live, I can tell that after living in Montreal for 5 years.

We have about 250,000-300,000 homeless unvetted folks from all around the world sneaking through the U.S. southern border each month. Fact: a couple of hundred people on the terrorist watch list have been caught at the border (and reasonably for every one caught and apprehended, a few more haven't been caught and are setting up sleeper cells as we speak). All the while, we are facing a dire housing shortage, and an explosion of homelessness and lawlessness is hitting every major U.S. city. It's about to get very crowded and even more violent here. Come for the opportunities legally, but always watch your back and be prepared to defend yourself, your home, and your family. A peaceful, quiet cold life in Canada may not be that bad in comparison. It doesn't take long for a lawless country to fall from grace no matter how prosperous it seems. Look at what happened to Venezuela within a single decade.

Let me tell you , the majority may be Indians, but in fact they are not leaving permanently. Only citizens of India or permanent residents are leaving temporarily. They rent their home and live in India with that rent , there they get servants life is luxury if you got money. Second they are the reason for this hike in rent and housing- immigrants are the main reason for high rent and housing market especially greedy ones. Health care in Canada is not accessible even if it is free.
