Hospital wait times in Canada are a nightmare because EVERYONE goes to the ER for EVERYTHING and ANYTHING. \n We don’t have “Urgent care clinics” like you have in the USA. \nWe have walk in clinics (basically just family physicians who don’t actually take on patients on a permanent basis and close by like 4pm \nYour kid has a cold - emergency room\nLittle scrape falling off a swing set - emergency room\nStung by a bee? - emergency room\n\nNo one has any idea how to care for themselves here. Can’t bring down a fever with Tylenol, can’t clean a wound that doesn’t require medical intervention, can’t do anything because we’ve been so coddled with “free medical care”

My husband and I lived in Columbus, Ohio for 12 years. During that time we had two babies, but we had insurance so the price tag wasn't too bad, overall. We made good friends there, all different political views but we got along well and it was great. We lived in Ohio both pre and post 9-11. I definitely noticed a difference in the growing patriotism around us. Even pre-9-11 there was a higher level of overt patriotism than I was used to in Canada. For instance, more people had flags in their yards or America-themed bumper stickers than I was used to in Canada. But post 9-11 patriotism grew immensely, and we started to feel like political views were starting to have an effect on friendships. Also, Ohio passed a conceal carry law (firearms), and I found my awareness that anyone around me might have a concealed weapon unsettling. In Canada the only guns anyone I knew owned were hunting rifles, locked up. But suddenly I had to worry about if there were guns in the houses that my children were visiting. As a Canadian, I just wasn't used to the idea of everyone having guns around. Anyway, we overall enjoyed living in Ohio. The cost of living there was reasonable, the people were friendly, and we only moved when the real estate bubble burst and my husband lost his job. We went back to Canada and, honestly, I've been relieved to be back as I watch the news and see how divided the American people have become. Even some of the friends that I had in Ohio have changed and become a lot less accepting of different opinions. It makes me scared for the future of the US, and the effect it all will have on the rest of the world.

Your insurance costs are absolutely insane, the whole system is corrupt. It sadly drives up the costs exponentially for everyone, especially us Canadians who have to import from US them $12000 (yes 12K) US custom manual wheelchairs ? or 900$ wheelchair cushions, 800$ rigid carbon back, or 900 feeding tubes (that’s not even accounting for bags, syringes, adapters, sterile stuff galore). Err, you get my drift! ? That’s like a several 100s of % mark-up, costs are insanely inflated just because they’re considered medical devices, and regulated by FDA and Health ?? intensely (makes importing some brands is a nightmare, I mean fun time). There are workarounds and exchange groups, so you never know.

I do not need job benefits for a doctor or surgery everyone in ontario is put on the OHIP plan we all have an OHIP card.

if you are rich person, developing countries are better, since poor people are exploited and you cannot exploit poor in Canada for example you can have servants and drivers next to nothing, but they are also humans too,, IF not Canada is better since everyone have equal opportunity. but there are people who will also complain if they reach heaven too

I used to think we were very much the same and I wanted to live in the US for the weather. But as we go often I have found the atmosphere and attitude has changed greatly in the last few years. People we used to be friends with don’t speak to me anymore as I called them on their awful beliefs. I know it’s not everyone but those beliefs have become way more common. The US used to be more global but now has become way more worried about themselves. \nYou can not talk about politics in a way that’s just a calm exchange, the hate is palpable. I went to an event the morning after a mass shooting and was visibly upset, not one person there talked about it or really thought about it. I asked someone about their thoughts and said “I don’t know why we have so many shootings here in the US” \nEducation is my next thing. The people I talk to know nothing about Canada and that’s not such a surprise but I know more about the US than most Americans I’ve talked to.\nI agree with a comment previously 26:29 that the north east is better educated and less dangerous.\nI feel bad for you as this is harsh but even on the news when Americans talk about being the greatest country etc on earth it feels arrogant. Maybe some years ago but now….. not so much.\nI’m afraid for your Democracy and I think so many people are just not listening

Listening to you talk about the health care,I’ll say our health care is not perfect but when I had cancer my treatment was amazing and costs me nothing.This treatment is available to everyone no matter your income level.I find it insane that people don’t care that not everyone can afford healthcare.

We all know how our Justice system works; Suspect get created by assumptions and then encounter. Sajjan Kumar is one of the master mind behind Sikh genocide, he was sentenced life imprisonment by Delhi high court in 2018, but he’s out of jail now-why? In 1978 Bholanath pandey and Devendra pandey hijacked airline to release Indra Gandhi from jail. Both of these guys were not arrested/encountered nor called terrorist instead they were given MLA seats; Is this our justices system?

I lived in Texas for 10 years and I met wonderful people. But I was absolutely thrilled to get back to Canada and it's a cultural thing. I found American culture focused on 'winning' rather than integrity, so that laws and businesses and banks are predatory, and everyone is on alert/stressed trying to not be victimized somewhere. Some great vacation spots, but it's no way to live.

I'm Canadian. I was born here, raised here, and have lived here all my life. However, my parents are American (they came during the Vietnam war), and I have full dual citizenship. I could cross the border into the U.S., get a job, start working and live there for the rest of my life if I ever chose to do so.\n\nHowever, I will never live in the U.S. Why? The cost of healthcare insurance and healthcare in general is definitely a part of that, but another huge factor is the socio-political atmosphere down there that is very unappealing to me. Everything from politics, the gun issue, much higher violence than we have in Canada, more racism issues, the media, and from what I have observed from decades of visits to the U.S.: there just seems to be a lot more people that are on edge and hostile than I am used to compared to Canada as well. For me, the general culture and mindset is just not something I want to live amongst.\n\nThere are some things I enjoy in the U.S., and there ARE wonderful people there too. I have several friends in the U.S. (born and raised), not to mention my entire extended family is American. But for me, the U.S. is a nice enough place to visit, but it's not somewhere I'd ever want to live.\n\nNo matter what kind of trip I take to the U.S., whenever I get back home to Canada it's always like a deep sigh of relief. I feel safer. I feel more relaxed. I feel at home. No matter how good my trip was, when I set foot back on Canadian soil again I always get a feeling of humble gratitude that I live here. For me, other than the warmer weather and some of the sights the U.S. has to offer, I'm much, much happier in Canada. I feel very fortunate to live here.\n\nAs a side note, I have never found our public healthcare system here in Canada to be lacking whatsoever. Any healthcare I, or anyone else I know that has received any, has always been prompt, of excellent quality, and reassuringly delivered in a professional manner.\n\nAs an example, in 1994, my father had a seizure and it was discovered that he had a benign brain tumour that had to be removed. Not even a week later, he was booked for his surgery and he had his procedure. He was operated on by one of the top two neurosurgeons in North America at the time, he spent three weeks in recovery at the hospital, and he had months of rehab afterward. About 2 weeks later, he had another seizure (the last one he ever had), he stayed in another hospital for an additional two weeks.\n\nHowever, all of what I just mentioned, and I mean ALL of it, was paid for by our public healthcare system. All he had to do was show his healthcare card and sign a release form for his surgery, and that was it. Nothing more. There were literally ZERO bills, no insurance companies, no paperwork, no phone calls, and ZERO hassle. Nothing.\n\nAnd no, our family was NOT rich or privileged either. Just an average middle class family. However, my dad's neurosurgeon told us his surgery and all the months of care he received afterward would have cost $180,000 (in 1994!), and our family would have been out on the street if it wasn't for our healthcare system. My dad also had a very minor heart attack in 2007 which didn't require surgery, and he didn't have to pay a dime or do anything else other than show his healthcare card for that either. Since those two events, my father has lived a healthy, normal life thanks to our public healthcare.\n\nIn Canada, EVERYONE receives that kind of care, regardless of if they are a billionaire or they are homeless. Because that's the moral and ethical thing to do, and is just one of the many reasons why I plan on staying here.

As someone that has been to almost every state except Hawaii, Alaska and i havent been to Porto Rico. But ya its violent and angry and poverty is everywhere. This is the 90's to now im talking about. \n\nExcept everyone has a choice you dont have to join a gang you can better yourself and play the victim card. There are a lot of stories of people doing the right thing despite coming from a bad neighborhood or poverty. \n\nCanada has a lot of police presence but ours are nicer most of the time

It's not just the cops that are armed, everyone you see is probably armed, legal or not! The atmosphere is dispicable. I will never go back! But Canadian education is not a lot better than in the States. Most people can't go to University here, but you can't get a decent job without a degree. \n\nWhy does Canada lag so far behing Europe? Because of the American influence. The right wing has destroyed the country and turned us into America Part 2. And the Conservatives have become EVEN MORE EXTREME ever since Trump darkened all of our doorsteps. \n\nIf I had my way, we would cut the continent off at the US border and paddle away toward Europe. Anywhere farther from the US would be a huge improvement. I could write a whole book on why, but for the sake of my mental health, I won't say any more.

You're a good guy, Tyler...and very brave to take on such a dicey subject as comparisons between Canada and The United States. We are two distinctly different cultures. Currently, America is more than frightening. The political system has really become a total mess. A two-party system (basically YES or NO) does not cater to the many grey areas of politics. The choice right now seems to be Fascist or Liberal. That's it! It was not like that during most of my professional life. Thanks to my job, I had a Green Card. But, I also could travel with little difficulty...especially in the South and Mid-West. Why? Well, because I had blonde hair, blue eyes and pale skin. I never got used to states where everyone was walking around with a gun. It scared the hell out of me. As a commercial film director and writer, (unique services - hence the Green Card) I worked just about everywhere in the US. The North East is the most similar to Canada. But get down south, and people were literally walking around with holsters and revolvers on their hips. I never felt completely safe. But America is also a great country full of opportunities and if you are educated and a professional, the money is also great. All Canadians love their Healthcare and Social Safety Net. Generally, I think Canadians are more socially evolved and better educated. Your educational system is awful. And the Bible Belt States are anything but Christian. It's hate and fear-based. But the past 7 years have been the worst since the Trump Cult era began. Trump and his Mega Cult could destroy what was once a wonderful country.

Both Canada and America have huge problems right now. As a 73yo Canadian I have NEVER seen so much hate for our Government. Everyone has the exact same complaints, like it was scripted. Our press is constantly stirring the pot and it makes unsatisfied Canadians more angry every day. The negative press pounding on our PM never ends. There are YouTube channels that take every little Canadian fault and make it into the crime of the century. Worse, they make money doing it.\n \nCanadians have been spoiled with our social services and lack of crime, and our beautiful country etc. I'm so tired of the complaining and whining that makes my life more miserable than the cost of living does. Canadians have been spoiled rotten, and now that the candy is less sweet, more expensive and less plentiful, Canadians whine and complain like spoiled children. \nMost countries in the world have the exact same problems and Canadians seem to think our problems are unique and directly connected to our Government only.\n\nAll said and done, I would still rather live in Canada with all of our faults, miserable people, and the haters. When I look at our American cousins there isn't any place on earth that I would rather live than Canada.\n\nI enjoy your channel Tyler, as it's light hearted and enjoyable to watch. Heard on average it cost around $25000 just to have a child in the US. NO thank you going into debt just to have a kid. Here in Canada free no matter what. Also rather be free then availability. I dont rush to the hospital because of minor sickness like everyone else here does then complains about the wait times. Also dont put myself in dangerous situations to get myself hurt. Some people are so scared about death or wanting attention just go to the hospital for the dumbest reasons. Had someone on my facebook say they had a flu and had been waiting 6 hours in emerg then whined about it. I told them to go home and stop abusing our system thats the reason for wait times. The amount of people that were supposably so sick during covid that they were willing to leave the house and potentially spread their sickness to others just to get told they were sick and to rest. We as people are actually retarded. Any way to get off work and get tested for covid just so you can tell people you have covid like really people. Also not true about weather there are like 7 to 8 states that are way colder then us right now and over the winter then us here in Southern ontario. Maine, Montana, colorado, washington state usually are way colder during winter months and also get alot more snow. Its crazy how we have a sterotype here which yes is true but not for a majority of Canadians. More Americans live in Colder areas combined then Canadians in all of Canada. Meaning more cold Americans then cold Canadians how ironic.

They are able to refer you to a work history that is BEST for the patient. There's very little bragging about how many appendectomies you did today. Doctor x gets a negotiated salary. That means there's no spedway operating rooms, unless that's the case, at the moment. I'm such a klutz, I would either die from poverty, or starve to death, to meet the payments to stay alive. You probably try the James Bond thing. Don't have any conversations with people who you REALLY don't know. Stayin alive! Stayin alive!\nIt's a real pity about all the tornados, and the hurricane ? problem, there's a real rebuild that needs to be done on bridges, and disaster areas, and there are far too many deserted buildings. You want to get rid of the drug problem, (not the law, necessarily) then do your best to eliminate them. Parks are what people need in the cities of 3, 4, 5 million people, where it is so expensive to go anywhere, and you can't get the time to go there. It's just everyone is running around with some illness, and what George said is true. I think he's one of the best representatives of the life that doesn't give you time to think.

Every big city has changed,but your video is so negative on Toronto. Why don’t you go and live in every other big city in North America and then give your opinion. Toronto is by far, no American city is even close ,to how safe Toronto is. The 5th biggest city in North America,almost 7,000,000,seven million people and almost no crime. It is the second safest city in the world,after Copenhagen in Denmark. \n Toronto is diverse,great job opportunities,great public transit,high standard of living,airport,food,arts,waterfront clean and beautiful,everything is world class and “FREE Healthcare”\n Yes,Toronto is expensive,but has innovative,high tech world class companies that attract intelligent hard working people. Everyone works. \n So if a person is unemployable,won’t work and can’t afford to live in Toronto,then don’t move there.

One very successful business advice me that why you going to USA, if who makes habit to get up early early in the morning around 4:00 a.m That place is USA for you( means no need to go anywhere).

Obviously if he has a personal driver in Nigeria, then he is part of a very wealthy minority back home, thus his experience and life is much better back home. Canada has better equality in every way than Nigeria & in my own home country as well, if you want to be in a country that tries to give a decent quality of life for everyone equally and not just a high quality of life for a small minority, then he's right, stay in Nigeria. Great job n great research by the Nitish Rajput's team. This is 100% true, most of the people migrated to Canada in 80s-90s remember punjab negatively. Most of the news these people hear is through the indian media houses which very negative. They expect the same rights from indian government as they get from Canadian government. As a Pakistani Punjabi, I would also like to point out 1947 Partition. There was no punjabi leader who signed the partition yet everyone decided to divide Punjab because punjab would have been the biggest state if it was combined and we have a history of fighting so very cleverly, politicians decided to divide Punjab just to curtail the power. Be it Jinnah or Nehru or any other leader. They just divided a land based on religion without even asking Punjabis.
