As an African who immigrated to Canada and became a Canadian citizen, I am so happy I don’t live and work in Canada anymore. I left that hellhole 15 years ago and I’ll never go back!

The sad thing is that there are basically only 3 options in Canada for living in an urban area and all the crappy suburbs in the country are filled with people who yearn for that type of living, further contributing to higher demand for these already scarce places to live. There are so many factors that contribute to the absurd costs of living in the country and the lack of incentive to live in places outside the 3 major cities is a huge sticking point. \n\n\nImproving this aspect is going to require massive change on so many fronts (less car-dependent neighbourhoods, denser housing, better public transit, among other things), but people are so resistant and fearful of these changes despite yearning for it that they don't realize their stubbornness is a self-inflicted choke-hold.

I was born in Toronto and bought a house in Ajax in 2013 (before the housing market exploded). \n\nEverything you said in your video is correct. As a new comer, I know it’s hard to advance your career, make friends or buy property. \nMy son is 23 and will probably never be able to own a home and he wants to leave Canada for a better quality of life. \nRaising taxes, high rent, the failing healthcare system, and poor quality of life (plus the cold weather) are all factors that should make immigrants NOT want to come here. \n\nAs far as making friends, you hit the nail on the head. People in Canada are polite, but not friendly. I find it the same here in Toronto. You’re most likely to build friendships with people you work or go to school with. I feel we lack the sense of “community” and don’t put in as much effort to maintain friendships. \nI blame the weather for this.

Canada govern by the left. Canada is land of the most friendliest people in the world. The economy had changed now, people suffering from politicians policies. And mostly left oriented policies.

If yours is a religion that requires visible signs of adherence/devotion in public then that public should reflect those signs. Canada is a secular society. It could be more tolerant, but I blame the US for that. Now, winters. I hate them too, but there's so much to do in the snow, and it's so healthy for you. A change of mindset is key.

The only thing I agreed with you is the price of housing in large cities. Canada is still a great country if one is willing to work. I maybe living in a cocoon, all my friends and my children’s friends are doing ok with their jobs and finances. The really uneducated and uninspired would suffered just like in any other country. Canada is not perfect, but I rather be here than anywhere else. Btw, I am 70 years old and have been here for 60 years.

It’s clear that you didn’t have the mindset of adjusting. Canada May be good or bad I don’t know. But when you move to a new country you should not hold onto your way of life as the best way. If you do that you cannot adjust.

As an antitheist, may I suggest you abandon religion, an archaic and superstitious fantasy delusion that most often does more harm than good in the world, and stay in Canada and work to help remedy the ills of the country. Religious people aften profess that religion makes people moral, yet you are clearly bigoted against LGBTQ people, and don't want to make sacrifices to help people in need (ie, all the destitute people in Canada that you want to flee from). It doesn't seem to me that religion is helping you to be better people. If you prefer to keep your religion, then I agree that leaving is best. We don't need more religious fanatics in the West- we already have too many of our own.

I don’t begin to understand your issues around your religion, but I respect your decision … being an Alpha white man, and a Christian has become very very difficult in this society as well. sure, the economy is soft, the growth of Canada is limited, we have a socialistic government, and many more negatives around Canada. This is why I have chosen to live in Canada only 5 to 6 months a year. This is the maximum I can truly stand. the culture is so materialistic and so pro woke. I have lived in TO for over 30 years. Love the city! It has its challenges and problems, just like any BIG city worldwide. I would not move anywhere else in Canada (because other places are as expensive or much colder). I love its energy, restaurants, venues, events and the diversity of its people. There is so much room for improvements and to control rent/house affordability, but it is still a great place to live.

Canada has turned into a massive shithole.

Things that are the worst in Canada. Health care. Dr's. Taxes. Weather. Government corruption. Incompetent people running the country. High in socialist and communist group. Now I know why big powers are destroying other countries, to bring people to countries like Canada and abuse them.

“Canadian Experience”? My husband is German and has both American and German citizenship. He had worked in Switzerland and all over the US. He is a Rocket Scientist and entrepreneur. I guess he has no chance in Canada. This is not good for a country.

I think this video is interesting because many people are upset about the direction Canada is heading because they are trying to make it accommodating to people like you. Your reasons seem very tone deaf and hypocritical. You point out negatives about Canada but seem to only say positives about other countries. Nobody said this so I have to; Canada is a country like most western country sell hope for people; however many, not all who comes over these western country find themselves in a hard place; with broken family; broken kids, and just work, work, work, and pay pay pay... when they work all their life, and get old; most have nothing to show for; their kids are too busy for them, most end up alone in a nice place; eventually, they will realize all they have is a nice jail, and kids, and the Gov;t just wait to get all their asset when they past. Sad Reality. There was a time when one get old are surrounded by their family; kids, grand kids, etc... Its now gone!

Anecdotal youtube nonsense. Canada is one of the best countries in the world. Hate on it if you must, but what's a better place, really? It's so subjective. Every country has good and bad, but most countries have way way more bad than Canada.

Canada is a Christian country so Christianity should be the first religion. Just as in a Muslim country Muslim religion is the first religion. We all have to get along. Thank god I moved to US right after graduating and paid off my loans with a new grad signing bonus. I now out earn anyone in Canada, doctors, surgeons, director of trading at TD, lawyers as well as having an top school district new construction SFH in NY (for way cheaper than Toronto even adjusted for currency), on my way to get a GC, and over a million in net worth. My cars and houses are cheaper, my flights are cheaper, my taxes are lower, my career is better, my investments do better. In Canada I'd be comparatively F-U-C-K-E-D. my condolences to all millennials that stayed in Canada.

then Cost of Living in Tunisia went (x 3 )in less then 2 years but at least we have sun almost 8 months the year and the winter isnt that Winter for us its just cold but we got sun somehow even in january and the sea is swimmable from may until october so yea \n\nPS : I prayed somtimes to God that i wished and want to Go to Canada But unfortuanly the door was closed and Now i understand he just wanted me To stay Close to him since i found the true path and asked God to guide me and never let me go away from Him So YES GOD didnt want me to struggle and iam so Glad , im taking note and i share same things with you guys and my wish for Canada starting to vanish , specially the Cold part i dislike that , better go to a muslim country where you can find the Sun the warmness the Mosquee , people who doesnt hate , Halal Food etc

I, know many people who migrated to Canada from , India in early 1956! they are all happy and settled well, they have their old age and family health care subsidies on apartments/ what more // many were highly educated too, to work in University status! others who had droppings into ... were not fully qualified/ or not good for Canada< this is the sad side of the coin too!!

To be fair, a lot has changed during and after COVID. It's not only in Toronto or Canada in general. The whole world is experiencing inflation. We have 2 major wars . Crime rate everywhere has gone up too.

Canada can be a really hard place to live. Too many people competing for limited resources- story as old as time. But throw in large immigrant population whose culture is a mismatch for existing infastructure. You are going to get growing pains.\nBTW, the so called studies /polls/surveys are a joke. I am 63 born and raised in Canada all my life and can honestly say that I have never been as embarrassed to be a Canadian since the pandemic where we let millions of immigrants come here take our jobs (with government subsidies) abuse of our free medicare system and have all their family members abuse it. They made housing unaffordable, impose their laws and religion and show total disrespect for Canadian culture. We lost this country to immigrants and corrupt government led by the worst PM in CDN history. Democracy has been replaced by a totalitarian state which has no respect for citizens rights...unless your an immigrant.
