Sadly here in US people are started to get some down turn cost of living as inflation started to bite but I think still better still than any country I had resided before the US. If you were in Canada and had degrees you better off going to America where they will credit your studies and appreciate your contribution unlike the system you have in Canada.

BECAUSE the Canadian system does not invest in innovation, research, or technology rather they would make money off of the scam real estate market by selling overinflated real estate keeping the supply limited, and accepting desperate refugees here and there in hundreds of thousands. There is almost a communist market in Canada, all supermarkets, mobile phone companies, and internet companies, airline companies are in the hands of a few privileged families. There is limited competition and often they decide the price of anything without any competition. Result: a flight within Canada is more expensive than a flight from Canada to Spain. Everything is 3 times more expensive and people suffer. They sell an empty jar of Nutella as the Canadian dream. In the end, Canada will end up with people who have no other choice but to live in Canada and have limited potential to propel the country's innovation which is sad. It's inevitable! and It's too late already!

Our family has been in Canada since the 1600s. I think it's time to leave. My wife waited 24 hours to see an emergency doctor 2 weeks ago in a winnipeg hospital and commented to me that a lady there had been waiting there for 48 hours also I waited for 2 years to see a specialist but part of that was during covid, also the wages are some of the lowest in the country here in winnipeg and still has some of the highest property taxes in the country and now with bill C11 and bill C19, with all of these Canada has a lower living standards than more than a few 3rd world countries. Our civil liberties here have changed for the worst and the future looks bleak, I would have moved away if I could but I can't as I wont leave my family behind some things are really more important than money and that's family but still I fight on and hope things will one day change. Also recently the canadian government did a standing ovation to a Nazi and froze the bank accounts of peaceful protestors, really not looking good for Canada.

NO, the cost of living in Canada has not *always* been high. For someone as young as this woman that may be true, since people usually say *always* to refer to their own lifespan. When I went to Canada (Toronto) in 1967, it was quite easy to find a one-bedroom apartment for $100-130 . Nothing luxurious of course, but acceptable. Public transport cost 25 cents (!), 5 tickets for $1.00. Working-class salaries were in the range of $100-150 per week. The value of the Canadian dollar was 7% less than that of the US dollar. My wife and I were actors who worked in a children's theatre for $45/week. Slim pickings, but with our approx. $370/month we got along all right, went to the movies, bought records and books,, ate in restaurants from time to time, bought food cheap in the Kensingto Market and got a complete tax refund at the end of the year. There was an air of general prosperity Things have changed drastically over the years, obviously.

I find homegrown Canadians are polite, alot of immigrants keep there distance and if they bump me accidentally, I find myself saying sorry and they dont acknowledge my presence. Canada is increasingly becoming less Canadian in terms of cultural norms

I have 3 degrees from university and colleges and i owe 130k in loans.. I am 28 and cannot find a job. I live in my parents basement now and have no girlfriend. I even applied to work at Tim Horton's and Mc donalds but they will not hire me cause i am white male and to hire me would contravene Canada's employment equity act! But on the bright side of things i did get Free vaccines every 87 days thanx to our great prime minister Trudeau!

Honestly it sucks for Canada.. I mean this country has probably everything any country could wish for. From surface to ressources to access on both side to the two main oceans, having a border with the first world power (it can be a problem but a good thing as well) and while climate isn't always the best, it should he a paradise living there.\nAs a French with what I believe is the best and most generous medical service in the world, to think that Canada spends MORE than us and have it a lot worse is crazy..
