#7 - I disagree that this a Canadian only problem, it is NOT. You’ll have the same problem moving south of the border. This is the result of the digital age. People don’t go out and mingle as much as before. Specially in big cities. That is the price to pay when you move to another big city. It will take time BUT this is NOT a Canada only problem.

Uk has annual tv tax so that link tax must be from uk influence from days gone by. Canada is so big, they should build affordable housing and have tiered tax rate.

Now if only more Muslims would realize western country's don't benefit them. If only Muslim countries were as welcoming as Canada. How come Muslims countries don't want other Muslims in Palestinians?

Canada isn’t worth it. Too many immigrants

It is sad to see Canada fall into Authoritarianism

As a Canadian, born and raised, I am much more proud to be a Canadian than if I were to be a U.S. or U.K. citizen, given the way they are regarded in most of the word. I have travelled Europe extensively, Central America, as well as parts of SE Asia. \n\nCanada is indeed expensive and has become moreso because we too easily accept the rising prices, just so we can feel good being a Canadian. Tipping culture is ridiculous, even for bad service, many feel the need to tip 15% because of fear of being regarded as a cheapskate or avoiding offending the service provider. Companies should be paying their staff a better wage where 20%+ tips are not expected for every restaurant, cafe or delivery service. We're helping corporations make more profit by subsidizing their staffing expense. This isn't the case in most of the world. \n\nMy eyes were opened when I saw how you can live an equally good life at a third or less of the cost and I have grown open to the idea of living elsewhere once I have enough money to retire early (I'm talking around 55) and enjoy life without feeling cash-strapped. World class private medical care can be found for prices that are unbelievable and without the multiple appointments and wait times.\n\nI will always be a Canadian first, but there is room for a second citizenship or a backup plan should living in Canada become an impossible place to live or retire, unless you begin with a financial advantage. By no means am I poor, either. I got lucky with both real estate and stocks. Yet, I feel like I am working to just get by, while being taxed well beyond what I am getting in return.

I guess with the so many trees burnt in bushfires in Canada sooner or later there's going to be a new issue and that's serious air pollution.

Bro! Canada is still better than New Zealand. I moved to Australia due to same reason. Come to Australia bro! InshaALLAH you will be sweet as.

I think these problems have come to plague almost all big cities in the developed countries in the last decade. Canada, like Australia, the UK,, USA, NZ, Netherlands etc is still cursed with the millstone of the failed political ideologies of the last forty or so years. These mitigate against the solutions: the end of mass immigration and a huge home building program. Expensive housing is the root of the problem.

Unfortunately I was born there and wasted 23 years of my life there...but I made up for it spending the last 24 in Japan. God works in mysterious ways. :D It's just fucked up that I own 13 homes in Japan and even if I sold ALL of them, I could probably barely afford a DUMP in Vancouver...or maybe just an old condo. But yet somehow propaganda says how expensive Japan is..and how great Canada is. Fuck that shit. The West's propaganda is just messed. Thank God I broke free from that. I can barely handle a 2 week vacation when I go back to visit family. :(

The Liberal Government and people who voted for a Drama teacher in power have basically screwed Canada for 8 years now. Canada has become a borderline communism country under the Liberals. This is why Alberta has a strong premier and I can see Alberta eventually separating. The leaving of the CPP is their first step to full autonomy.

You want Islamic prayers played over loud speakers in Canada five times a day? Good riddance.

Canada follows an agenda planned by globalists, neocons ,i think you are lucky to realize what's going on.May Allah be with you.

Wishing you the best on your move and journey to a new place. I was very unhappy in Canada and kept thinking it would just take time. 7 years later…. I’m out and starting a new life in Seattle.

The more she talks about Canada the cheaper I think it is. What do you mean only $2000 CAD for a 400 sq. ft studio?! To my canadian friends, things could be much worse. Don't worry about that.

Very good ? leave Canada ??, otherwise also Canada don’t need Islamophobia

Mass immigration, that's Canada's issue today. What's happening in Toronto, is happening everywhere. Too many, too fast. Letting in anyone with a pulse, inevitably leads to more crime.

I want to give a different perspective. I'm from Singapore. My entire family was here and they have moved back. My sister moved back first because my British brother in law could not take the cold. My brother moved back because he wanted to make money and be rich. My parents moved back to be close to their grandkids. But no way will I move back. Constant heat strokes from the weather, materialistic and shallow people, preference given to married people and families, lack of hinterland and nature, lack of winter sports, and poor LGBTQ+ rights. I have not lived in Singapore since I was 18 and I am also childfree, with no intention of raising a family, only travel locally, and am not into the acquisition of commercial goods for gratification. I love going on roadtrips and skiing every winter and playing hockey year round. I like that I can marry who I love here and can acquire a home without needing to be married. I understand how people who want to make money and raise families would see the brighter side of other countries, but Canada, despite its flaws, is my brighter side.

Counting days until my early retirement (still several years) to go back to Thailand, my home country. Quality of life in Canada used to be better when i came 25 years ago and things have gone downhill in recent years, especially after the pandemic. As a middle income class with good secured job, i feel the purchasing power has significantlyndiminishing and disposable income left to spend outside necessities is very low or none.

Only a couple years left to retirement. Seriously considering a move to the Philippines. I can hardly wait to say good-bye to Canada, the cold, and the high cost of living.

Thanks for telling the truth about living in Canada. Since Justin Trudeau became PM in 2015, Canada as experienced rising cost of living crisis, rising crime rates, healthcare system deteriorating, and many more other problems that I could list here.

Thank you for the truth. I can confirm everything what you have said! I have left Canada for Russia around 1 year ago, and I am very glad!

I left Canada 5 years ago... I'm in Dubai now... 1000% satisfied on my decision.

You are correct in everything you have said, I am Canadian and I am so totally dissatisfied with our current government and what is happening in Canada … I wish every blessing for you and your family. It’s a downward spiral for sure.

I always wanted to move to Canada but there are mainly two things that are stopping from doing that:\n\n1 bad healthcare\n2 housing unaffordability\n\nI do work as a nurse in the UK and I would be able to find a job in Canada as well very easily but looking at the number of vacancies just in British Columbia I'm scared because it means the shortage of nurses in that Province is unbelievably high\nThe risk of burnout is really really high\n\nAbout the cost of living, it's everywhere in the world: in the UK life has become very expensive and housing is unaffordable for many people

I went to Canada to study at Seneca college, long story short it was a ripoff.\n\nAlso the freaking winters are super harsh for students that don’t have a car. It all sounds like sunshine and rainbows when they pitch you about studying in Canada from abroad, but once you get there… holy cow, it goes south really quick.\n\nI went back to Mexico to get my degree instead, now I’m in California living the life. ?

I have been thinking of you recently and wondering about you. Very, very interesting to hear your rationale for leaving Canada. Completely understandable. Good luck. Looking forward to updates. From South Africa.

All the things you speak about came about with the Trudo government. You should have become active to get rid of him. Sorry, you should have to see Canada in this light.

Companies actually recruit people abroad, and sponsor their immigration because Canada does not produce the most qualified workers.\n\nWhen it comes to making friends... Canada has totally changed. People are just not friendly anymore. That is spot on.\n\nNothing wrong with NK.

I had a job offer to relocate to Vancouver ten years ago. I decided no to do it because of the huge time difference to where I'm from and me basically almost never being able to talk to my family and I knew it will be too expansive to travel every year back home. Apart from that, my inner voice was telling me it wouldn't be right to do it. So, I decided not to take the offer and to relocate to Canada. As it looks, turns out I made the right decision.

In the 1960s and 70s, my parents and some of their friends left authoritarian Yugoslavia for Canada. Now, their children are leaving Canada for the same reason. I personally know at least 10 people who left Canada permanently.
