I love Toronto but now a days I dislike to live and work here I will prefer move to a less expensive town and a calmer and not so dangerous place . Hoping my loved Canada do not imitate Toronto . Got permit not.

I am born in Canada and i lived in Montreal's suburb(South Shore like we say here) all my life and i love it but i would never live in big major cities because of increases of crimes, high prices of houses/condo, traffic jam, pollution. \nMy girlfriend from Beijing came here last september for 2 months and she really loved it. She enjoyed the freedom, the many different foods from other countries in restaurants, our culture , the people kindness, beautiful nature and easy living.\nYes we have too free medical health care here in Quebec's province(Sun card ) and i have an excellent medical plan with my employer so i can have acess to private clinics free of charges when it's too long in public hospitals.\nI hate snow and cold long winters since the age of 18 when i had to go out for work or school and i dont like our corrupt goverment but we can vote for a less worst one every 4 years. ?

I rent a room in Ottawa for maybe 2 months and when I left. I heard the landlord was imply in something very bad that they said at the tv. a few years later, maybe 5 years later when I applied for my Canadian pardon, the ottawa police wrote something about me like was i was subject in that event! I went to the police of ottawa and they said sorry we cannot find out who mentionned that because after few years the info is deleted or not accesible to the public. That affected my pardon. and when I saw thos crazy behavior of Canadian government and the peoples in Ottawa, that give me more reason to not go back to canada. I lived in Western Europe, Japan and at the moment, Canada. I lucked out getting a well paying job in Vancouver when I moved back a few years ago and my average tax rate is actually the exact percentage you stated in the video - 28%, which includes income tax, pension and employment insurance. I'm actually doing better in terms of quality of life now but I do miss being able to travel around Europe for cheap. (e.g., quick train ride to Paris for the weekend) Now, I take cheap flights (e.g. Flair Airlines) to Mexico instead.\n\nJust to state some data points: when I was in Europe, I paid a total average of 39% income tax on a lower salary than I have right now in Canada. Things like utilities (e.g., gas/electricity), restaurants, certain grocery items and electronics (e.g., iphone/PS5/computers) were significantly more expensive because European VAT (inclusive) is usually 20%+. \n\nI don't have the exact numbers but on average I believe I was paying 70 - 90€ ($100 - 130 CAD) just for electricity each month for a small flat, but I am now paying $30 - 50 CAD for a decent sized 1 bedroom. I believe my housing gas bill was about the same or possibly a bit more. In addition, automobile gas prices were much higher (about $2€/L on average which is $2.90 CAD/L) and I think they could go even higher right now. \n\nHowever, rent is definitely more expensive in Vancouver, but I believe that is true for many West coast cities in North America. Right now I'm paying $2300 CAD a month for a 1BR, and I split that amount with my partner. Toronto people complain that really all they get is two, true warm months of summer. June is sort of warm, but it can be cold at night and suffer cold snaps. Finally warm August comes to an end. While many Americans to the south struggle through an Indian summer of continued high heat into September and even early October, September brings the cold temperatures back to Canada, not yet freezing, mind you, but full autumn where the jackets have to come out and you don't see the welcome, warm, sunny sunshine and the ability to sit outdoors wearing thin clothing.

Canada'a economy is a complete sellout. Sell companies, infrastructure to foreign countries. Give out PR visas to pump up real estate. Give out school acceptance to international students to greedy schools. Sell every natural resource to other countries while not supplying Canada itself.

Born and raised in Canada 30+ years. Probably one of the worst health care systems I ever experienced. Crime, too expensive, horrible politics and leadership. \n\nLeft years ago to Asia and every time i got back to visit, I feel like I've gone back in a time machine 50 years. Never moving back. Best decision of my life.

I'm Australian and moved to Canada on a WH. My standard of living was lower, I was paid less for the same job I worked in Australia, the benefits that Canadian workers get aren't as generous as in Australia and there isn't as much protection for workers. All in all a disappointing move and I ended up high tailing it back to Australia well before my Visa even expired This was before Covid though so not sure if things have gotten better or worse.
