this is dumb.......social experiments are dumb and inaccurate

In Los Angeles, many, many, many African Americans work in the Library system from Librarians to Social Workers, to General Workers to Security to Maintainance to trash details to teachers, to landscapers.\nAs an African American, I do feel WE HAVE ONE OF THE BEST LIBRARY SYSTEMS IN THE WORLD!

Until racism, discrimination and unsubstantiated paranoia are diagnosed as a social mental health disorder, we only focus on the symptoms and ignore the disease.

A lot of you are quite dense so here’s the definition of systemic racism:\n\nSystemic Racism includes the policies and practices entrenched in established institutions, which result in the exclusion or promotion of designated groups. Race Relations: Myths and Facts)\n\nIt manifests itself in two ways:\n\ninstitutional racism: racial discrimination that derives from individuals carrying out the dictates of others who are prejudiced or of a prejudiced society\nstructural racism: inequalities rooted in the system-wide operation of a society that excludes substantial numbers of members of particular groups from significant participation in major social institutions. (Henry & Tator, 2006, p. 352)

I think Canada’s proximity to the USA desensitized us to its problems. Canadians have a long history of defining themselves by the fact that they are NOT American but that doesn’t shield us from the fact that we have some growing to do. We have generally more socially favorable welfare programs than the US but that doesn’t mean there isn’t systematic racism, it just means it’s shown and expressed in different ways

I see racism everywhere in this country , In the workplace , within social circles just everywhere. Those of you who deny it are fools

Systematic racism in Canada is the same as Covid-19 here in small portions but no where near as bad as the government makes it out to be it is being used as a political tool to gain advantage same as Covid-19 as Canadians we need to stop listening to social media and the media and the politicians we need to treat each other with respect regardless until they give a reason not to when I meet people I see people and I treat them with respect until they give me a reason not to politicians are poison the media is poison and THEY ARE DIVIDING CANADA

Now where-Oh-WHERE did José get the Idea that he could just illegally walk into Canada from the U.S., from which he and his family came to be, illegally!? \n\n95% of the immigrants coming into Canada from the U.S. are under some type of deportation threat, so they come into Canada. The trouble is when 50k come into Canada in less than 3yrs, it overwhelms Canada's Social Welfare System, what to do with Canada's own homeless, unemployed, uneducated, sick,....Add the recession/Whuflu and it's a perfect storm.

They wouldn't have to flee their countries if they had a conservative mind set but liberal and social ideologies are destroying those hispanic countries in which they are fleeing

When do you think discrimination for an individual, Homo sapien begins?\n\n\nI believe discrimination may begin at birth with the statement of “It’s a boy or it’s a girl.” Gender identity is not always (100%) one or the other. There are case studies of the presence of both genitalia for a single baby. Then again, there are case studies of conjoined babies/infants. In 100% of the births there is cognitive evidence that a baby/infant was born.\n\nDoes that require us to remove categories of identification from our communication? I believe not. To mandate identity removal, in my opinion, gives authority outside of the individual and abdicates trust of one’s self in the ability to make individual decision and places authority in another fallible, human entity to make decisions of civil behavior that is in conflict with the individual spirit of what is good or evil. Even government employs the individual cognition, encouragement, and use of the human spirit to survive at the core. So, to advocate human spirit abdication fosters an inability to reason between good and evil. I am unwilling to admit that I am unable to reason.\n\nSimilarly, in performance of the social experiments, there’s missing clarity in being able to know what is in the mind of store representatives to want to assist the public with the decision-making process of a purchase versus profiling. Because, the flip-side is to avoid a person because of profiling. The belief of innocent until proven, not presumed guilty, is significant to maintaining civility.

That's true it's why I can't have a public social media accounts.

I feel nothing wrong with racism. Racism is like social classes when you have no minority in the country. Accept it then you will feel less shocked.

It happens in every country of the world. It's the indoctrination born from the public and social media, of the stereo typing people according to skin color, culture, dress and monetary value. You never going to shake it until they stop portraying it in movies. That includes every action that people react to on social media. How people react to it will often be classed under the same influence peers have on our young teenagers.

Tell you what, we got too many immigrants causing trouble, breaking the law, and a burden on the social system to pretend that things are peachy keen in this country, look at Toronto and the gun fights, wake up, this country is turning into a 3rd world.

So were these tests constructed by competent psychologists, or were they some sort of tests made up by some Social Justice Activist?

well to be honest, a marketing guy said, that he has two appartments free on the first dude and one appartment free on the second dude.....isnt that.....good? would be better to switch the order of the visit. and the 10$ difference by a different contractor was probably mor elikly corruption by this guy than actual racism.\n\n\n\n\nthese test results dont show racial bias, but simply the facial recognision of your mind to identify white or black people, thereby have a greater cultural and social preference to come into contact with these people. the test actual showed never racism. its showes social stereotypical mindsets. to combine these stereotypes with claims, that are unjustified to a person is prejudging and by a racial mindset of reasoning its is racism.

I get followed all the time and i am white. It is not about race. It is about social status. It is about social class. How rich or how broke you look. Dont know why marketplace has to inject race into the equation. Marketplace agitators.

The white guy they used in these test is a lot more socialable looking than I am and I am sure I would get the same treated I am even being white.\nI also worked for best buy and was told to ask people if there was something I could help them with if they look suspicious and standing in one place by a shelf is just one of those things. That is just common practice.

The only men that harass is those that have been bitten. If you think hurtful words is a detriment to your living, well guess what all the tax paying and social assistance is to us. Eliminate duel citizenship and this problem will go away. If you want to immigrate to Canada you must relinquish any previous citizenship. That would eliminate the possibility of these people moving back to China which means they wouldn't move here in the first place unless they were serious about being Canadian citizens and not just doing it for profit and access to Canadian real estate, social programs and future pensions for family.

Surveys show consistently that Canadians are much more liberal-minded on social issues like gay marriage, capital punishment, decriminalization of drugs and abortion. Canadians have always been able to travel to Cuba. \nAlso, Canadians are far less religious than Americans and religion plays no part in our politics. In other words, Canadians are more like Europeans.

This isn't a competition. Canada stomps you.\n\nWe're richer. We're safer. We have better social services. We're healthier. The rest of the world likes us more. Damn, need I go on?

I’m dual citizenship, I live in the states now. DO NOT FALL FOR THE FREE HEALTH CARE!!!! It is NOT FREE!! You pay 14+ consumption tax and 40 - 50 percent income tax. It’s public, so you wait for everything. Yes the drs and nurses are great, but they work in constructed socialized system. They need to ration their time and services. I have experienced both and Canada is by far inferior to the USA

Healthcare in Canada is not free. It's socialized. I hate how people always make that mistake.

Hopefully after this pandemic ends, Americans will question the need of employer based health insurance and their lack of social safety nets. What good is health insurance when you lose it when laid off.

I totally agree with you Lloyd Douglas and his column black in Canada. I find it to be swept under the carpet as far as racism is concerned, they smile in front of you but behind you they Stab you in the back .well the Americans is right up front I can work with you but I won’t socialize with you, at least you’re truthful.\n\n I find Canadians to be very two face , Hidden they true feeling and pretend a lot . Terrible social experimentation, also boarders on unethical to experiment on the unknowing public!!!! Racism is bad but provoking sexism, violence and prejudice for the sake of a social experiment. Personally I question if it is even legal to conduct social experimentation on the general public???

Je crois que nous sommes tous à un certains niveaux racistes, car cela découle de notre éducation, de notre ignorance envers l'autre, de notre manque d'action envers un de nos semblables. Les blancs oublient qu'ils ont un réel pouvoir social qui est présent depuis des milliers d'années et que ce fait est transmis de génération en génération. Tant que nous ne reconnaîtrons pas ce fait il y aura du racisme et rien ne changera vraiment. C'est la même chose pour les femmes et les hommes, le sexisme, et tout autre problématique sociale qui exclue des gens pour leur couleur, religion, sexe, genre, orientation, la langue (français anglais) etc. Très dommage, car nous sommes tous humains et que nous sommes tous responsables des problèmes sociaux que nous vivons, soit par nos actions ou inactions, nos propos ou notre silence, nos choix ou non choix etc Moi je veux vivre dans un pays ouvert aux autres, tout en se respectant mutuellement et ça pour moi ça va dans les deux sens. Donc si nous avons des lois ou des règlements ici nous avons le choix de les laisser ainsi ou de les changer.

Oh. Yeah it's really frustrating when people stop you constantly. I've been followed around stores. I have severe social anxiety so it's like they're pushing me out the door because I hide a lot and get nervous.\n\n I'm metis and had some pretty crazy coloured hair before. So I figured they thought I was going to steal. I dont know what's in their heads though so meh i dunno.

This is a great video it's hard being a person of colour in even today's world. There is a lot of passive aggressive racism in the form of discrimination on a big scale. The thing about race is you can't really talk to white people about racism because they don't really experience it. I would like to see a social experiment to where white people go into predominantly minority areas and see how they get treated.

Immigration should have A system that will consider person's age when they enter Canada, good conduct, and financial status. She is not even dependent on the social funding, why not give her consideration? In fact she may be of help to the economy, as she is an entrepreneur and has value to the community.

When I stand up for people I see who are discriminated against, I get called a social justice warrior as an insult. But I want to know why fighting against bullies is a bad thing. I love being an SJW. We ALL should be.
