You can NOT buy anything for a dollar in Canada. Not even a pack of gum, not even a can of Coke, nothing. But we have more resources than most of the world and shouldn't have to pay for anything. A disgrace.

All the reasons you cited are legit. And you’re right to say that it’s all relative depending on where you come from. If you lived in Canada for a long time, you will probably cite all the reasons. But if you’re from another country specially from a third world country, Canada is very much better to improve their lives. For me, housing, expenses and weather are the most important reasons to leave Canada. It’s all relative.

There are 1.44 million college and university students in Canada. About 550,000 of those are foreign that’s over 1/3. These students are paying 3 to 4 times the tuition of a Canadian. If 1/3 are foreign then universities are scamming both Canadians and the foreign students. There should be no more than 10-15% foreign undergraduate students. Canadian students are being rejected into university programs with an average of 95%. If someone gets 95 there should be no problem getting into a Canadian school. The system is broken for the tax payer who funds these universities.

Canada has clearly changed for bad and it can only get worse in the coming years. It is implementing (as has been doing so for many years) a stupid immigration policy that denies entry to many Western talented people, but welcomes immigrants from other very different backgrounds/cultures with almost the only condition being they are young... Canada is not proactively expanding our infrastructure and social services to accommodate this unnatural population growth. Any money that comes from outside of Canada is later reemitted back to the foreign country as most international students take a loan and later pay back that loan from Canadian earned money ...

Left in 2016, writing was on the wall, I was lucky to get out when I did. Many of my freinds and family members are now economically trapped. I have a small monthly income and could not have survived without staying employed which i no longer wished to do (60 yrs). I dont know how Canada can sustain that level of inflation.
