Amazing you can comment on a CBC news YouTube channel.. you cannot blame the huge influx of immagrants on just students coming here to learn... The federal government needs NEEDS NEEDS to shut down the flow of people coming here from everywhere.. we as a country cannot handle the sheer ammount that they want to bring in.. these people are brough here in the expectance of paying taxes.. but how many are getting their education and leaving for greener pastures? Why would this be any different than what Canadian students do after they are finished with their education.. How may of the immagrants that are coming here that the government expects to pay taxes are actually taking money from the welfare system because there are no jobs for them.. im gonna say that taht number is huge maybe more tahn 60 percent.. What the liberal government is doing is destroying Canada in the mean time and all Canadians are suffering because of these moronic games.. It needs to stop now.

There is far too much third world trash in canada. Student visas and immigration in general must be paused until the government balances the budget. Canada has no money, and any demographic challenges being faced are specifically the fault of the government. PPC is the only sane choice left for Canadians.

Unfortunately, post-secondary education is no longer about producing quality graduates to build our nation, it’s just a foreign student money grab “puppy mill” education to issue worthless graduation certificates, all to the detriment of Canadian students who only end up with a poor education and a massive debt in a job environment where you work for little pay, part time, and contract, hoping that eventually you might get one of the few full time jobs out there.?

So faculty greed is destroying Canada with the lack of affordable housing, rising homelessness, lack of care for its citizens, etc.? They want the students high tuition money because they pay more. I wonder if it's the same in the US. I guess this is called selling out? No wonder China has caught up so quickly as there is a ton of Chinese students that come here.

I have been in US for 20 years and can understand the experience that you are sharing. Frankly, countries like US and Canada are not for people who can’t do some basic things on their own. \nPeople leave their families and comfort of their home and come to these countries either to earn money, eventually have a good quality life or to provide a good quality education for their kids. If you don’t have a reason good enough to make that move and keep the option of running back home on facing little hardship then there is no way you can live in these countries. Forget about going and living in other countries you can’t even go and live in another state within India. Do you think it’s easy for a North Indian to go and live in South (or vice versa) where they encounter language and culture barriers? \nYou were in much much better situation as you already had PR and didn’t have to go through stress of handling uncertainty on your visa situation based on job.\nTrust me it takes few years for you to get adjusted to new environment, culture, people, food etc. But, as you spend more and more time in these countries you get more accustomed to way of living here and then you become so comfortable with it that you don’t want to go back at all.\nDon’t want to judge anyone but I guess in your case at your age with family already settled in India you didn’t have a solid enough reason to get out of your comfort zone and give time to get used to such big transition in your life

You will live well anywhere in the world if you have money or a good source of income. All the Canadian ex-pats living abroad have either money (they made here), real estate that they can sell or rent to have income from here, a Canadian pension or a willingness to live in the forest/off-grid, as many videos show. No place is affordable for the people living there, and that's why many immigrants still leave their countries and come here. For example, many Canadians move to Mexico, while many Mexicans are moving here. Canadians still have it good, believe me!! I travel and see. Yes, we have many challenges with housing and the high cost of living like BIG cities worldwide do. So, people saying they will leave Canada are still privileged people.

I lived in Dubai for 9 years. I think you would like it there, although the cost of living was also high. You may also wish to check out Fujairah. It is located on the east coast of the UAE, on the Gulf of Oman,, about 90 kilometers from Dubai. Cost of living is cheaper there. Muscat, Oman is also worth checking out. Oman has no oil money, so compared to the UAE it is a much lower standard of living, but I would guess cost of living is much cheaper than in the UAE. I have spent some time in Muscat and the people are super friendly.

I was born in North York in 1955. Used to be the cleanest city in North America. Beautiful, modern, safe. Now, I'll be blunt. to parrot a phrase from Trump, it's a SHITHOLE of a city. Nothing but condos, you can't even see the lake anymore. Every 6 months when I go downtown from Aurora there another 30 condos being built. Often owned by foreigners with lots of money, who buy up 3-5 units at a time. Parking and traffic are impossible. Green spaces like Allen Gardens are now owned by homeless, not the taxpayers. The government is a far left leaning one, which means let the whole world in, no matter if there are no services, driving up debts by increased spending, and resulting in a place only the very rich can now afford to buy a house or pay rent for a tiny crummy one bedroom unit. I even give up free Leaf tickets when I'm offered, it's just not worth the aggravation of traffic and tons of people. Good luck!!!

I regret moving here 17 years ago - don't know how I've managed to stay this long. Toronto has changed me... and not for the better. This place will make you bitter, you'll have no friends (or shallow, money-hungry ones) and there's no sense of community. Your workplace will be toxic, you'll work long hours for a boss that treats you like crap and pays you less than you're worth. You'll be underpaid, and not valued or appreciated. You'll wake up in the dark to go to work in the freezing cold and come home in the dark, in the freezing cold. You'll live in an expensive tiny box in the sky with disrespectful neighbours (and their barking dogs). The 'unhoused' and addicts will hang outside of your building, begging you for money and smoking crack/weed. The stench of urine and poop on a hot summer's day (the 3 months of it that there is) will make you want to heave.\n\nAnyone thinking of moving to Toronto should seriously think twice and do LOTS of research. There are so many BETTER cities in the world - choose wisely. Don't choose Canada.

Very interesting video, all was well explained. But the situation it's the same here in Europe, and maybe is even worse, in Italy you die of hunger! Salary is so LOW and never changed in more than 20 years, and rent of houses is crazy! It's insanely high and with your salary you can't pay the rent (even if you are a doctor, nurse etc..) you don't have money to buy an house and if you pay a rent you can't spend money on anything else. People here live thanks to their parents savings (who has this luck). The situation is very bad, young people can't find a job because there are no jobs available, it's really hard to live. Cities are dirty and degraded. In public health care you have to wait months and years for a visit, you are forced to go private and pay a lot of money. So I think the situation is serious everywhere. If you know a place where you are paid well and there are no such problems let me know.

Every time I go back to Toronto, I see how dead all my old friends are inside. They should've followed my lead and gotten the fuck outta there a decade ago (when things were already pretty bad). No amount of therapy can help you if you're living in a rat cage. You want to improve your mental health? Start with a healthy environment. Today, it is 180$ for the same 2 bags. this is NOT a 10% increase... but almost the double in price!\n\nRent, in Quebec province, have gone from around 1,000$ to 2,400$ in less than 5 years, and each time a tennant leave his place, the landlord rise (against the law but nobody can do anything) the rent often by 25 to 40%!!! The Demand is so high, that he can refuse you for any reason (including racism, children, pet, smokers) he can think of. Again, this is against the common law but in truth, there is nothing anybody can do, unless you can bring him to court, which takes lots of money...\n\nSo in reality, from the last 5 years, almost everything has double in price and salaries have barely start to rise (mostly due to unions who revolted) but if you are not part of one, your salary basically stayed the same.\n\nA very good advice, don't come to Canada. My wife and I used to live in Toronto. We moved to the United States in 2018. We've literally saved more money in the 5 years we've lived in the U.S. than our entire lives in Canada. Everything in Canada is way too expensive, taxes are heaped upon taxes, and the price is inflated even more. Toronto is even more crazy than the rest of Canada in terms of expenses. There is no way young people will ever be able to afford a home or save for retirement.

The quality of life in the Philippines, no matter how poor we are, could not be compensated by whatever promise there is in Canada. Overall, the Philippines nonetheless has plenty of beauty, comfort, satisfaction, and happiness for those who are hard-working and socially adept to keep their relationships warm with friends and relatives. While there is so much money in Canada, its growing ugly side, which expatriate Filipinos themselves could attest to, is becoming more and more irritating. It is better to invest one's talent in one's native land here and just visit Canada as a dignified tourist than as an unenthusiastic citizen in that country.

I left Canada in 2023 January because of One reason. In Schools they teach kids how to change the gender and how to take drugs which will not harm. \nCanadian values doesn’t aligned with my family, cultural values so I left Canada even I was earning good money. But money has no value if you are unable to raise the kids properly. \nI left Canada and it’s been 1 year I am living in my home country India and I have zero regret about leaving Canada. Canada country was good when I came in 2017 but now everything is changed. My sister and brother in law they also moved from Toronto to Dubai because they also think that there children will have no future in this country. \nMy brother in law told me Dubai is very good for raising kids, have moral and cultural values. Respect for everyone. No drugs promotion, No gender change promotion in Dubai, quality of health care and education is way better than western countries. Strict rules for women safety.

(Abbotsford, BC) I've lived in the States for many years now and boy was I shocked how things have changed here in Canada. I realize you and your family don't use Bible, but just to give you a biblical perspective on things that very well may parallel scripture from the Quran, at 2 Timothy 3:1-5 it says... 1 But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having an appearance of godliness but proving false to its power; and from these turn away. \nYou may be able to get away from the moral decline of where you live now, but honestly, these things are going to be world wide eventually if they aren't already. I live in Ontario Canada. Generally; I vote Liberal. I voted Trudeau in twice.... now regretting it a little bit. He has done some good for me; but also bad.\nCanada started plummeting after COVID hit; and it has gotten worse. The main errors made by this government are with both the Liberals and Conservatives agreeing to 'grown' big corporates into HUGE monopoly corporates. TO compete with the USA. Due to this; we are now paying food prices through our ears!! Crazy. Also; there seems to be a level of corruption regarding the housing issue. No affordable housing. Not enough homes built. Only the rich can afford homes now. Government gets to tax that; and they love it! The rich class have more clout in voting for a government that aids them in making more and more money that they rob from the POOR house renters. The lower and middle class. As the Middle class in Canada is now becoming poor. The rich get much richer. This government is trying to bring in thousands of immigrants to stimulate the economy. But mostly; the immigrants have taken over all the lower Canadian jobs. We can't get them anymore. Because immigrants work cheap here; and sign onto contract deals with mega-corps that ensure they keep working for 2 years. Job entry level Canadians (are left without). There are also not nearly enough houses for immigrants to live in anyway! This government did not anticipate that we simply do not have enough homes for immigrants, nor Canadians alike!! What a fail. Healthcare is also failing huge... mostly thanks to the Conservatives who love to block almost every good healthcare BIll possible.

With 9 month of experience, I am truly considering going back to my country, here you cannot get a job related to the degree that you have even having 3 years experience with. They will pay the lowest in the low despite the Glassdoor average salary. Add on the high living cost and complex extremely long hiring process, there is no good career path and is all about survival. Sorry to say, but when locals are struggling, I don’t understand why asking foreigners to come… Pretty much many of us and locals are so disappointed+angry+frustrating, this country drain all my saving, I come here to work, not purely let Canada eating all my money. And yes, they said value education, but a degree will not let you to get an entry admin job cus they expected Master degree, lasting many of their systems and 10 years experience. Moreover, if you don’t have a car, the job will not consider you no matter it is an entry position.

In my province healthcare is ostensibly nonexistent. Wait times at ER's are well over 12 hours and you're often directed to go home without ever seeing a doctor. \nThere is an extreme deficit of doctors. I've been waiting 6 years for one and there are people who have waited much longer with no relief in sight. \nHousing is unaffordable. A decent (nothing special) one bedroom 1 bath apartment is around 1600 a month and this is a largely rural province, not a metropolitan city. \nHomes are being bought as fast as they go on the market at extremely inflated prices by people moving here to escape the more populated provinces. This has raised property taxes by 20% in the last 2 years.\nThe economy is in shambles. Homelessness is exploding and the government seems uninterested in fixing it in any realistic or helpful way.\nFederal and provincial income taxes are nearly 50% of your income (44% for me and a bit more for my wife). So, what money you do make you get to keep a little more than half.\nElectricity is about 3 times what it is in the US and the rate here is increasing by 29% over the next 3 years.\nGroceries are unreasonably expensive and becoming more pricey by the day. Provincial sales tax is 15% on top of those groceries as well. \nThis is a short list of a few of the more glaring issues but there are far more. Canada has transformed over the last 5 years into a place I hardly recognize anymore. If something isn't done about it soon we'll be living in a third world country by 2030.

100%. Canada will keep losing its top talents and top-quality immigrants to the US in the forthcoming years. BECAUSE the Canadian system does not invest in innovation, research, or technology rather they would make money off of the scam real estate market by selling overinflated real estate keeping the supply limited, and accepting desperate refugees here and there in hundreds of thousands. There is almost a communist market in Canada, all supermarkets, mobile phone companies, and internet companies, airline companies are in the hands of a few privileged families. There is limited competition and often they decide the price of anything without any competition. Result: a flight within Canada is more expensive than a flight from Canada to Spain. Everything is 3 times more expensive and people suffer. They sell an empty jar of Nutella as the Canadian dream. In the end, Canada will end up with people who have no other choice but to live in Canada and have limited potential to propel the country's innovation which is sad. It's inevitable! and It's too late already!

I wonder if the reason so many in so many places believe that medical care is a problem is actually a matter of expectations. I know that in the 90s, my little town in Kansas had as many imaging machines as the entire country of Canada, but Canadians were certain they had superior medical care, as did the English. Expectations.\nEven then, if something was so bad that only a silver bullet treatment would possibly help, they still send patients to the USA because they are not equipped to help. Quiet management.\nBut basic medical, especially if you don't have much money, was traditionally better in England. I don't think Canadians had choices, but the functional reality was similarly better than in the States. Expectations.\nFor some time, Americans have had a sense that miracles are practical things that happen all the time, just pull out all the stops to keep grandma in agony another week. This has been reinforced by the civil courts. It is dangerous to be a doctor who does not recommend EVERYTHING be done to prolong life, even miserable life. Insane expectations that waste a lot of money. \nBut basic medical? Just shut up and go to work. Expectations.\nA century ago, there were no significant differences in expectations amongst developed countries because the expectations, based on the technologies of the day, were the same. Plus, there was only so much that could be done, so the total costs of everything were predictable and could be paid for publicly or privately less angst or disappointment. Expectations.\nWhen the technologies change like they have been in medicine in this century, it's good guess that so do expectations. It's also a good bet that there is a mismatch between expectations and available resources. Broken system.

I was born and raised in Toronto. I have no family inheritance to give me a jump start. I make good money (middle upper class) but I’m still struggling financially. Not because I spend like crazy or anything, but because taxes are crazy and everything is so expensive. And now with the high interest rates, my monthly expenses went up $4000+ for no reason. Just based on interest rates. I had a pho lunch for 2 last week and it was freaking $70! Crimes are increasing like crazy and the government keeps having talks of handing out money when we are in so much debt. Seriously the government right now is discouraging talented hard working ppl and encouraging lazy leeches to keep being lazy. Our healthcare is also a joke. Doctors know nothing and are only there to write prescriptions. The amount of people I know that was misdiagnosed for conditions so obvious that any 10 year old can figure out by googling their symptoms is ridiculous. \n\nBeing a Toronto native I really hate seeing the city/country crumble like this. I am starting to question if sticking around is the right choice. But I’m so established and embedded here I don’t know how to uproot everything and move elsewhere. New housing is owned by people who do not really live in Canada. New construction is fueled by offshore multi nationals and money laundering schemes. No one with a decent Canadian income can afford these units. Not only this, but incredibly, there is no free speech in Canada. Any voice of dissent or difference in opinion is brutally silenced. Not a democratic country anymore.

Canadians just like the old Soviets have come to rely on the Government and debt. Canada is fake. The money is fake, unions are fake, the press is fake, medical system, education, all fake fake fake. I am white, Christian, male and I knew a few years ago that in Canada there was no future for people like me. I left for SE Asia and I, from the bottom of my heart, have never been happier. I stopped visiting Canada 40 years ago because of insane or corrupt border control policies. I traveled to Canada from California to record an album for a popular rock star. My crew number 4 people and we had reserves a month for basic tracking in a studio there. We bought our own reels of 3 inch wide recording tape because the studio wanted twice the rate as normal and since my studio was a distributor for the mastering tapes we brought from my own inventory. Each reel of tape was 3 lbs and brought 30 reels. We got to customs and they said we owed money for importing the tape. Normally a reel would have been $180, and customs wanted $38,000 x 20, and would not let us retrieve it to take it back to the US side of the border. How can a tape worth $180 suddenly have duty of $38,000?\nIt was explained to me as the Potential Value of the tape which meant AFTER a hit song was recording in it. Most recordings are total losses and the tape cant used on a new project even if properly bulk-erased. They expected me to pay on the spot $760,000 in duties. I gave up and left the tape with them. I called the artist and said we could not do the project in Canada and we went back to California. The artist came to us a few months later and the result was a minor hit, and probably barely made its production cost since the label only distributed it in Canada. I talked to an international trade lawyer about what happened and he said customs officials were wrong in Canada but they are given full latitude with no appeal so his advice was never take anything over the border that I did not mind being confiscated. Sometimes they would let it in because it was going back out in a month, but likely they sold it off and pocketed the money. The US is corrupt on a federal level but Canada is corrupt on the local level. I moved out of the US 24 years ago have a much higher quality of life than is even possible in the US, and live very cheaply. Total cost of living with a very active social and cultural life impossible to duplicate in the US which as some of the least options for culture. And my cost of living is $1500 a month, less than utilities alone for one house in California, and that is for 2 people. Last month for example I attended world class opera, ballet and symphonies 9 times, and went out to dinner, in jazz clubs or dance clubs, visited12 top museums, and it was still under $1500 for the month. A pair of tickets to the MET in NYC for lower grade performance, sets, orchestra ad theater, was $1800!! $600 for tickets to drama for 2. Here there 237 drama theaters within walking distance of my city center home, and can walk anywhere at any time of day and be safe due to VERY low crime rates. Free medical is good. I am not citizen but still I had an operation and 10 days in a vip single room for $5300 and despite my insurance I had been paying back in California $824.month, it was going to cost me out o pocket $500,000 and one day in a recovery 12 bed room, and require paid nursing attendant for 30 days. The results were great and was treated like king.\nCanadians have lost control of their government but Americas are screwed regardless, with lower than international standards for everything, with crime, corruption in Washington, extreme cost of living, no access to culture, few if any safe parks. My adopted city is not only far more beautiful than any US city, my GF can walk, alone, anywhere in a city of 7mil at any time of day through any of the 600 beautiful parks open 24/7..at 3am. There are no homeless, and 80% of those over 20yo own their home clear of debt. No college debt despite twice the % of people having degrees. The rest of the world caught up and has surpassed the US and Europe in quality of life. \n\nI have only been back to the US 5 times in 24 years and each time I am shocked by how much the entire society has declined while most of the world outside of Europe, Canada, US, UK or Australia have dramatically improved.\nEvery year since 2008 more Americans leave the US to live elsewhere than legal immigrants arrive.

I immigrated to Canada in 2010, and here are my experiences inside and outside Canada. I am grateful for a good education; having a Canadian passport opened up many opportunities in other countries to build a higher-level career. However, if I had known the amount of stress, health, and financial damage that I had to endure, I wouldn't have chosen to come to Canada. I would have remained in the US or EU countries where I could achieve even more without suffering to the level I did here. \n\nMisleading immigration promotion: The government-sponsored Canadian immigration program oversells what Canada can offer. It withholds information on the cost of living, chicken-and-egg problems like Canadian work experience is required to get a job at the same level as you are in, Canadian credit history is required to rent a proper apartment, Canadian education is required to secure a high-level job, etc. \n\nHiring process: I knew the Canadian system was not ideal for immigrants over a decade ago, but it got so bad now that even the born citizens are unable to survive. The Canadian government and employers lack a basic understanding that ambitious, high-achieving people immigrate to other countries for high-level positions using proper channels. It's ridiculous to see that Canada uses a point-based system to choose highly qualified personnel to enter their country yet expects them to pursue low-paying entry-level or labor jobs just because they have brown/black skin. At first, I thought having a Canadian degree and experience might help me get high-level jobs, and I didn't think how I spoke or looked would matter when I had high credentials to show off. So, I got my masters & Ph.D. from the Univesity of Toronto, which consistently ranks #1 in Canada. I have a bachelor's from a prestigious university in Asia and had a high-competitive, well-paid federal government job in another country. Still, none of that was recognized in Canada, and I had to volunteer for over 6 months, 10 to 12 hours/day, in a research lab that led to a funded PhD program. I worked even harder during my Ph.D. with many accomplishments, like 40+ research and leadership awards, internationally recognized scientific discoveries, and innovative technologies. I checked all the above and beyond in various domains (research, teaching, leadership, business, engineering consulting, collaborations, etc.). Yet, employers couldn't see past my race, gender, age, etc., and refused to give me the opportunity at the level of my qualifications. Luckily, I managed to secure short-term work in the UK & the US, and it changed even how I see myself. I was highly respected for my credentials, given higher positions than I applied for, and paid 3-4 times more salary and benefits. Of course, bias is an integral part of every society, but my race, gender, age, etc., were not as big of an issue to begin my career at the mid-career stage in these countries as opposed to Canada. \n\nHealthcare: Access to healthcare was another big challenge for me. When I moved to Canada in 2010, due to extremely low temperatures, I developed hives all over my body, my eyes got red, and I coughed for many months. The doctor said there was nothing wrong with me and refused to give me any medication. It took us years to get a family doctor, and we got one through my personal network. In 2015/2016, I developed an autoimmune disease, and my eyeballs popped out. As of today, I did not get to see an eye specialist as they have only 1 specialist in the area, and the waiting time is for years for the first consultation. Every time the family doctor told me that I had iron deficiency, even when I insisted that they should run additional tests and they cleared, they were flagged. The doctor never diagnosed my autoimmune condition. Luckily, during my short-term work in the UK, I saw competent interns who completed my care. NHS is poorer than the medical system in Canada... they are understaffed, don't have hospital beds after surgery, or don't have stock of paper gowns, yet the staff are highly competent and caring. Within 1-2 years, they did complete diagnosis by sending me to various specialists, completed eye surgery, and even found a lifelong condition that was preventing me from realizing my full potential. Following, in the US, the doctors confirmed the diagnosis of all the conditions within 1-2 months and put me on two small pills for life. It has dramatically changed my life, and I have even more admiration for the medical profession. While in Canada, I suffered for over a decade, and every time, I was treated as a hypochondriac and never given a single prescription. \n\nQuality of life: Big cities like Toronto are mainly affected by high crime rates, overpopulation, cost of living, low employment, low salaries, etc. A few months back, there was a huge auto theft, and one of my contacts lost their Lexus car within minutes of parking. Despite being a scientist, I have no faith in politicians or individuals fixing these problems. The salaries are not increasing, but the taxes and cost of living are on the exponential growth curve. The ridiculous part is that Canada expects you to pay taxes even when you are not employed or living in Canada! I lived in London and Boston, and they offer a much higher quality of life and pay. \n\nGrowth potential: No wonder Canada, being a G7 country, falls at the bottom of the list in innovation, equal opportunities, economic growth, etc. It has a decent education system but, due to its inherent bias in the hiring process and monopoly of certain businesses, loses talented immigrants and highly qualified Canadians to the US, the UK, and EU markets. Unless there is a dramatic shift in policies, Canadians, especially new immigrants, cannot expect any positive experience in Canada except for being discriminated against and losing valuable time and money by being there.

Im just gonna say this. I generally vote Republican. In case anyone forgets, thats who protects the constitution. Furthermore, i can take in a mother with children because women and children are our most vulnerable people. Why don't more Democrats do this instead of waste tax money on all this stuff that does nothing to help people get jobs that will allow them to progress. Many recent immigrants I have known have left Canada because the cost of living is too high. From my experience they work very hard, usually working 60+ hours a week. After some time they crunch the numbers and realize no matter how hard they try they will not get anywhere so they leave. For those born in Canada we find ourselves being chased out of our hometowns because it is too expensive to live there. For myself it was either stay in Vancouver, surrendering more than half of your income to rent or move out of the city to buy an apartment. In the major cities there is a mass exodus of young people and the strategy has been to replace that exodus with immigration. The problem is that is not sustainable as now new immigrants, seeking a better life are not finding it in major Canadian cities. For those who already own property in the lower mainland the selfish mentality is to do whatever you can to deny construction, thus maintaining the scarcity and value of what little land/housing there is in desirable areas. Zoning laws are beginning to change but progress is slow and municipalities have failed to keep up with infrastructure so the growing pains is going to be immense. It's beautiful here now doubt but if I had no ties and a solid financial footing I would have left long ago. Generations ago you could show up to Canada with no money and thrive if you were willing to work hard. Now hard work won't get you anything.

especially in today's situation, any 3000ft house in Toronto or Vancouver will cost you at least $2M+, there is no chance for regular employers to own that by saving money from their regular job.

Canada is awful. Since I moved here 1,5 years ago I’m just struggling with the depression all this time. There is no joy in this country, no feeling of safety. Crime is happening all the time. I don’t feel safe walking on the streets. My salary is low bcz no employer is willing to pay good money to an immigrant. I’m not able to afford a car but the public transport is just terrible! I can barely afford to split the rent with my partner. Barely can save any money. As an immigrant I will never be able to buy a property here. I lived and worked in another country and I was able to save so much money and have a great life, travel, buy food, have fun. Here I am not able to do this.

If you move away from your home country, it takes half the time of your actual age to understand, & get used to the country you move into. \n1) Ikea also offers assembly service for which you have to pay. \n2) home owner/landlord didn’t improve noise isolation issue of their floorings. If you had to go through odd jobs, you would have left Canada within a month. \n4) Hospitals- Indian Government hospitals works the same way. Priorities go to life threatening patients first. But as an ex-Indian, we love spending arms and legs of money. Our loved ones survive going in private hospitals without insurance. \n5) socializing & jokes- I think you should’ve moved to Brampton so you can be part of the ghettoized community we have created there. so what day by day their crime rates are going high, we can at least understand the joke we can laugh on there. And there is no home sickness feeling.\n6) Weed!! - India has legalized alcohol, tobacco consumption. It does not mean anyone can go buy this. Even to buy legal weed in Canada you have to show your ID. At least that process is followed properly here.\n7) Vegetarian- if you want to follow a diet like this, all you have to request the restaurant to swap the meat with either potato hashbrowns, or if they have soya bean patties. \n8) Struggle- struggle is part of life. There is no requirement of whining about it. What do you need to be concerned is that you are getting an opportunity to go ahead, if you can’t get that that’s an issue. \n\nAnyways , I’m glad you made a video regarding your point of view on leaving Canada. Rent will keep increasing as there is no competitive market. as many of the people in Canada are already operating carousel tax fraud. Look that up on W5 and Canada is doing nothing to stop this, guess where all the ones at the top of that carousel are from? As long as there are ones operating illegal business earning more than the average hard worker being able to afford higher rent the rent will not be decreased but keep going up. Saying that they are bringing in mostly younger people is a lie too, they bring in everyone. That our workers are aging out and there will be nobody to do the work. Let's think about this clearly, as the population grows we need more businesses, more schools, more produce etc... Fact we need the same amount of business for a community based on the size of the community I would think. In the 1800's a small school house was sufficient, a local convenience store was enough with a mail order catalogue etc.. As population grows you need more. We also now have self check outs etc.. We are cutting down Canadas number one resource trees to make way for more and more roads etc.. Having to spend more to change and widen roads, feed these refugees, support them till they get situated, house them for how long, educate, train them, and then hope they can actually adapt and not hate us etc.. Look around the world and not just in our own back yards i.e. what happened in NY today, look at Britain afraid to put up Merry Christmas not to offend or any Christian monuments. There are of Course ups and down between living in Europe and USA or Canada \nUSA no doubt has alot more money than Europe and in Canada you don't need to work about paper work citizenship and European countries have language barriers but thats not a problem now a days \nIn Europe you have medical insurance there is no Job insecurity you will see a few Homeless people and you can have a happy Family life Education is free and cheap as compared in the US or Canada\nOn the other hand USA has job insecurity medical's so expensive Canada has high rents plus the Cold there is too much \nIn the end This guy is only limited to the knowledge he has living in Italy and he got his info from articles that are not based on actual facts

1) Toronto is poor value. Getting housing of any kind (buying or renting) is stupidly expensive. And the quality you get for the price is lousy. Especially the newer builds, which are just thrown up as quickly as possible and sold to investors. Policy measures generally all seem to serve to just inflate the price of housing further. The occasional lip service given to affordability is amusing, but ultimately sad. There are lots of people who really do not want the housing bubble to pop. They will fight against it with all they have.\n\n2) It has become kind of boring. There is lots to do if you have money, but it’s harder to find entertainment on a budget. Even the free stuff like parks are filling up. Stuff like sporting events, eating out, going out is very costly across the board. Even the “cheaper” stuff is expensive. It seems like a lot of local culture is disappearing. Even the cool neighbourhoods are filling up with the same chains. I think the high commercial rent and bureaucracy is deflating a lot of would-be entrepreneurs. Most landowners seem to just be banking on cashing out their land for condos.\n\n3) Canada overall has a high cost of living compared to salaries. In the US you can find lower cost of living areas that still give you a real city experience. And in Europe you can be poor but still live a decent, if no frills, life. In Canada the basic necessities are all expensive. Phone bills, grocery bills, rent, insurance are through the roof. Domestic travel is expensive. And the dollar sucks if you want to travel abroad. Health care is free but good luck finding a family doctor or waiting 8 hours in the ER these days. It’s expensive to be poor, or even middle class.\n\n4) Most of the Greater Toronto Area, outside the core, is soulless suburbs with awful transit - very “American” except with worse traffic congestion. You will need a car, which is another huge cost. Row upon row of old cookie cutter suburbs with the same crappy houses. Good luck walking anywhere, and if you do you will need to walk down boring, treeless arterial roads with cars zooming past right beside you, and cross giant eight lane intersections that were never built for humans on foot. In a rainstorm or on a fall evening you have to be really careful not to be run over by aggressive drivers.\n\n5) It is hard to raise a family in an apartment here. You can do it but it’s not very easy, and also you are still kind of judged for it. Lots of young people are feeling stuck and are deferring or avoiding starting a family. Buying any type of house, even a basic townhouse, requires pledging your soul to a bank by taking a massive mortgage with eye watering debt in a volatile market. But few apartment buildings have the kind of sensible gentle density, the family unit sizes and the common amenities, like little courtyards with jungle gyms, that you might find in Europe. No one ever contemplated that anyone would ever desire to raise kids in an apartment. It’s just a cultural thing that has worked its way into how things are planned and designed.\n\n6) The transit system is ok by North American standards but awful by international standards. There are only two real subway lines, one stub line, one line that is permanently out of service after a derailment, and another line that was supposed to open a couple years ago but still has no date for opening. The subways go out of service frequently, sometimes for the dumbest reasons, and then it is a zoo of shuttle buses. The streetcars are nice but so slow. The buses are fine if you find yourself dreaming about riding a daily herky jerky rolling tin of sardines. They are building a lot of transit but it will take decades to get done.\n\n7) There is still a lot of cool multiculturalism and opportunities to experience different foods and cultures - one of the best things about Toronto. Increasingly though it seems to be losing the fun vibe of the 90s, when everyone celebrated each other’s backgrounds and was chill. It seems the immigration is not as broad based anymore and also people are importing a lot of their “old country” grievances here. The immigration system also kind of preys on people abroad by selling them a false fairy tale, so they end up dejected when they arrive and see how things really are.\n\n8) This one might be controversial but it’s kind of an ugly city. There’s nothing particularly of historical meaning or value. Some of the older neighbourhoods are kind of nice, but the last 25 years they have only built giant glass skyboxes, one after another. There aren’t the cool “missing middle” walkups like in NY, Chicago or Montreal (or even LA). There are very few buildings with much architectural character. Some of the buildings they deem “heritage” here are an embarrassment.\n\n9) For safety, honestly on this score I think Toronto is not bad. There are not too many real “ghettos” and it’s night and day compared to much of the US. With that said, there is more vagrancy and social issues these days, with tents and such. It’s very sad but the shelters are full, lots of homeless go into the libraries, parks and transit system. It does make it harder to enjoy these public amenities safely. It is nowhere close to Europe where you might let your kids run free around town. Canadian parents still helicopter their kids and the place again is not designed to really be safe for kids, in the same way as Europe.\n\n10) Finally, a bit of a double edged sword. Toronto had a lot of youthful energy - people coming here from all over. It is definitely not as sleepy as many parts of the world. With that said, it is becoming a bit of a transient place (minus the world class experiences like London or NY). If you are from elsewhere you might find it hard making and keeping friends. I’ve seen lots of people struggle because it’s is hard to build a strong social network. We have a very “shallow” culture here - people are extremely polite but not overly warm and hospitable. We treat one another kind of like neighbours - meaning we’d like to have a cordial, drama-free coexistence and otherwise kind of stick to ourselves.
