I got followed a couple of times but I always thought they genuinely meant to help me. I even thanked them with a big smile on my face. Wow, I never thought they had different attention. ?

Corona has nothing to do with anyone's race or origin. We're all humans this is a time for us to stand together and be united always and face the situation head on. \n\nPeople who differentiate others by color or race need to know that we're all human. Though we may have different complexion or look different and talk different, at the end of the day we're all one big family. \n\nThose who deny and live a life differentiating everyone should not be encouraged and should instead be corrected and if that doesn't work then they need punishment or need to reach out to the nearest hospital for help. \n\nThe earth is our home and our fellow human beings are our family even if we aren't related. Please respect and love one another rather than hate.

I’m a dual citizen of US and Canada. For me a big cultural difference is that Americans are raised thinking they’re the greatest country in the world and Canadians take pride in being peacekeepers and our multicultural mosaic (rather than melting pot).

The states have a way bigger platform than Canada so their situations regarding racism will be covered more than Canada’s and also Canada hides behind the “it’s such a diverse country” statement to diverge from the issue of racism. Ask yourself this- Which country do you see a wider diverse representation of, concerning the people in power? In Toronto we just had our first black police chief(which was a big thing here) a few years back while in the States they’ve been having people of colour and many minorities in power. Representation of different ethnic backgrounds is an issue here but nevertheless the states still have a long way to go with racism. I love Canada so much but there is absolutely racism that this country will not bother to even acknowledge

I mean racism is probably a big problem in canada..\n'But as a whole I think on the defund the police I think this is a one sided piece that didnt portray any defense of the police only criticism, in good journalism you need to let someone defend themselves and bring their perspective, this type of journalism is what you get if you have a ideologically possessed 23 year old fresh out of left wing college.. Perhaps learn real journalism try to portray facts not oppinions formost.. Journalism on a news outlet like this isn't supposed to be activicism but objectively portraying facts, and also doing interviews with people with different perspective.. Like perhaps interview Jordan Peterson and let him say stuff about group-politics actually agitating people and causing more conflict and more harm than healing..

A real big difference

There’s really only 3 big cities in Canada, Toronto Montreal and Vancouver. Which are completely different than all of Canada. Toronto is very similar to London England. Whereas Montreal is really similar to Paris. Not so much in architecture, but in terms of people, life, style, slang. Lots of people in Toronto listen to toronto artist and UK artist as well whereas Montreal residents listen to their Montreal artist and French artist from France. Most of the similarities here are actually not like any American cities. America to us seems really “white” there’s not lot of diversity there either. Toronto is so diverse, People from literally everywhere its so nice to see. Our Prime Minister also a lot better looool

Another big difference is that firearms are not easily attainable in Canada ?

I can definitely feel a big difference when driving from Detroit to Toronto, a hour drive. I think the difference is bigger than the difference I experienced when driving from Vienna to Budapest, two very different countries economically.

I think one of the big differences between USA & Canada is mentality. I find that Canadian’s & Australians to share more similarities in terms of mindset then Canadians & Americans.

The big difference in sport are that the Canadians know what ist the geeatest sport of the universe..HOCKEY. the us should play and push much more hockey as they do.

Stop saying that Muslims need to go back to their Muslim countries, GREAT IDEA but first leave their countries alone first, stop causing wars, financial crisis and other issues in their countries and all of them will happily go back to their so called sharia law countries and guess what????? we will have a major problems in running many different systems in our amazing democratic countries such as the medical industry, just a fun fact..... most of our physicians and pharmacists are actually Muslims also they are the core to so many sectors in N-America and Europe...... I really want them to make that big decision and go back to their home countries and serve their homes just so you all would UNDERSTAND how important these people are to us and why our governments are actually accepting them and even attracting them to come and live, work here but they will never admire these great humans just becouse they are Muslims (history shows that we were the haters and terrorists against them, they were always trying to protect themselves and their land from us) but again we never really learn from history.........

I just find the film industry so frustrating. As a woman I just feel that it's a white male dominated industry. The Oscars just reinforced my consistent frustration. Films are predominantly aimed at white men, big block busters that make maximum profit, celebrating the male archetype. Men review films, men analyse the profit made and then decide more films for men need to be made. I feel so under-represented in films and I can see how much worse this is cross culturally. I was talking to a student of mine who has gone on to do film making at uni and raised this with him after some discussions on our favourite films. He hadn't really thought about the need of different audiences to see films that reflect their own backgrounds, ideologies etc. Hopefully the new generation of film makers will bring with them a more authentic and fresh approach to film making.

This is just ridiculous, these are just a series of assumptions, why didn't you confront the people to get some kind of understanding for those results? And stop confusing stereotyping and racism, there's a big difference.

This is a propaganda piece. He's not an asylum seeker, he's an asylum SHOPPER. He went from Mexico to USA to Canada looking for the best social service programs for asylum seekers. It was denied because he was shopping and not seeking. Big difference. There are laws, you can't go to one country offering asylum then jump to Canada. It is NOT just race. Depending on the bag or backpack you carry, you get followed, which I hate. And I'm not black. My mother also gets followed everywhere in every Macy's store. It drives me crazy. It's really annoying, because I think it's because my mom has big purses and I usually have my art backpack. \n\nWhen I'm in a different town, I get followed in Walmart all the time. If I forget my shopping bags, I will empty my backpack so I can use that to put all my items in at the end of the purchase.\n\n In Best Buy, I'm lucky to get anyone to help me at all!!! I have to hunt someone down, and most of the time, they don't know anything anyway. Target: I have a hard time finding anyone to help me as well. I haven't really done a social experiment, but sometimes I just have my shopping bags and fill them as I shop and I won't carry a purse.\n\nLocally, I don't get followed because my family and me are known in that town. We know a lot of people and my face is everywhere. I never get followed. But out of town Walmart, I get followed in certain stores. It irritates me immensely, especially since I buy a lot of make up and the make up department is cramped they way they block the end of the aisles. It makes it really hard to turn your cart around when other people are in the same aisle. Then they close the make up aisle even though they have tons of cameras all over!! \n\nOverall, I don't know WHERE these backhanded compliments are coming from. I normally hear stuff about my weight. Nothing about race ever. Nor do I ever hear others talking about race. Weight seems to be the hot topic always.\n\nI also find it weird that the one guy feels like he needs to apologize!

If you think Violent Jihad is bad, you will be surprised that something worse is brewing in the background. Stealth Jihad is only but one prong of the full attack. The reason why we are hindered by PC is the result of what the enemy has been desperately trying to do for decades at the UN. If you know when exactly they had been starting to raise their shady resolutions, you will realise that it predates 9-11, which says a lot of how connected and well orchestrated they are.\nThey know our weaknesses better than us, and they are using it to their full advantage at will.\nOn top of these three angles of attack, they also have religious people hanging around the government, providing advices or should i say, constantly reminding the governments that their feelings are hurt whenever someone uses the words like islamic terrorism or muslim perpetrators. Not to mention that they also have their 'agents' holding positions in the governments. Of course, if you were to watch closely, these ministers are covertly trying to advance islam hiding behind multi-culturalism while they appear like they are doing something for their countries. And of course, their people would naturally know who to vote for.\nIf you realised, the terrorist attacks are not as frequent as 2016/2017. Its part of their damage control phase.\nBut they will still continue to do what they are supposed to do, escalation of demands, coming together to get rid of people of threat to them, crying victimhood and playing the race card, until they have established sharia law in every nation. If you think sharia laws is only meant for them, you are so wrong. They can legitimately get rid of us simply by applying their laws. Its a very very very big Trojan horse. Every country that receives these immigrants experience the same set of problems, and it always end with them trying to establish sharia law. Ask yourself this, they all come from different countries, they all end up in different countries and yet they all say the same thing, at almost the same time? Its a worldwide movement. Lebanon also used to accept refugees. And they are applying the same proven formula this time.\n\nI had seen a video before about someone saying they started this worldwide plan somewhere around 1995, but i had forgotten which video it was already.\n\nAll non-islamic countries should come together secretly and derive a once and for all plan. Ultimately, besides saving ourselves, we should also save them from clutches of the devil, literally, which demands their full and blind submission. I see no difference about anyone, anywhere and anything, anymore about living in this planet. The only way is to see the big picture. Sometimes the golden pot that some people is looking for and strays away from home to find it, is found right there, at home. \nHuman beings are either nomadic or sedentary. That makes a difference. Still, I don't see many Gypsies. \nConsumerism is weakening the human soul. And most of the time is used as an excuse.

I don't know why the hijab gets people so angry. No one freaks out about Amish women or nuns covering their hair. Why is this any different? We all wear clothes (most of us) so why is the amount of clothing a person wears such a big deal? Just as some Christian women would find it inappropriate to leave the house in short shorts and a crop top, some Muslim women find it inappropriate to leave the house with their hair showing. No big deal.

Well, I am not going to generalize all people in the same category. There are good and bad people everywhere in the world but being first generation immigrant in Canada is really hard in every part of life. First, even you are fluent in English you will have an accent that makes big difference in your job hunting, making friends and get along with different people. Many times, I have been treated on the basis of how I look and on the basis of my accent.

You folks who always claim racism, helps to keep it alive.. It may not be the color but the way you act in an establishment. I'm white and had on an old leather jacket ove day while shopping which possibly made me look needy. That day while walking through different stores at the mall, I was followed by store personal and also by the security team while walking between stores. After not seeing what I had been looking for in all of the other stores was a new leather jacket but not seeing what I wanted in all of those places that I visited, I walked to Wilson house of Leather and finally found that new jacket. Best of all it was on sale. I've lost some weight since those days but I still have my leather coat which is a bit big for me now and starting to look like the coat that got me followed that day at the mall. Not everything is color when you get those looks and I would say it's more on the way you present yourself. \n\n Funny how it was during the times of the HURRICANES were the riots and thefts were done by people od color. Not all blacks riot and loot but those who do are a reflection of the thinking of certain races on this earth. Whites are just as guilty but no Asians, Whites Indians Arab or alien were photographed looting during trying times for many. In times of crisis can you depend on your neighborhood?

He's not an immigrant he's an illegal alien there is a big difference. I don't want him in my country and I doubt the USA wants him either and for good reason. You cannot just pick and choose the laws you wanna follow and walk over the boarder and cheat the system. All that does is hurt the country and it's a spit in the face for all those real immigrants who wait,work and pay lots of money to come over here. Deport them all and build a wall.

And not everyone here has a gun, there are some people that just don't like them for different reasons.\n If you come to a place like Texas yea just about everybody here has one I do, but there are still people even here that don't like um. You can't be an expert on another country by being there 100 something days. And I don't understand where everybody has this impression that all Americans are fat. Americans come in all shapes and sizes the same as everywhere els and other parts of the country are more health conscious than others. In every state you will find hundreds of gyms and plenty of muscled up fit Americans.\n As for the health care thing, I don't get it either but that was Obama momma and his stupid ideas, he was trying to destroy this country on purpose you know he's a muslim and we will never let one of those bastards sneak their way in office again. Now that Trump is in office he is trying to fix that or make it better some how. I have often wondered why can't we have a healthcare system like Canada's but America spends all of it's money on so many things in the world because of our position on the world stage we just can't work that out, thats what happens when you're the world super power.\n Most Americans have health insurance through their employer, a certain amount is taken out of our paycheck every month and if I get sick or have an emergency I pay a small co pay at the doctors office which is 35 dollars and emergency room co pay is 150 the insurance pays the rest.

I can see westerners being freaked out by the women who cover their face. I myself was like wtf when I seen a women with covered face for the first time back in northern Virginia, and I am from Ethiopia - a country that has a big Muslim population, more than 30%. We live among Muslims peacefully, because we respect our differences, but the ones back home do not really cover their face so I was not used to it. Really we should do better than creating differences, there is no better race or religion, all humans are the same, we all practice the 7 deadly sins religiously. and all the people commenting saying they hate Muslim and what it stand for, what religion are you because the Bible teaches compassion, it does not say to hate what you don't understand.
