Anyone else notice that when you call a Canadian Government Facility 80% of the time its always someone who barely speaks English? Just a weird observation i noticed recently. It makes stuff very confusing.

I have been in Germany for almost a year .Came in with a job offer . I must say that every appointment with government offices are stressful as they expect you to speak German but I don’t think they are wrong . We all know that the official language in Germany is German , you get by with English but it’s only fair to learn the local language..

I m EU resident.. went couple of time Germany.. ( once got fine because didn’t carry passport/ residency card didn’t expect!)totally disappointed of everything except food quality…they need workers but under their skin they actually quite dislike foreign workers… bureaucracy.. not easy to get any housing.. not only Germany almost every European country wants u to speak their or prefer their language..( and those languages are best known hardest language of the world).. the main problem is government decisions and local need most of the time not fit together..

As someone who has lived in Germany for almost 9 years and speaks C2 German, this is my take: \n- I understand the language requirements are necessary , but they are more often than not completely unrealistic unless you started with the language at a young age or you have lived in Germany for many years. \n- The bureaucracy and hurdles to obtain visas and permits are absurd. It is literally easier to throw away your passport and claim asylum than go the legal way to obtain permanent residence or citizenship. This is crazy, the government needs to reform this. \n- Cost of living is high and wages are ok, but the taxes are way too high. It is frustrating to give away so much for a government that malinvests much of that money.\n- Due to the high costs and relatively low real income, it is hard to build up wealth. \n- The culture is also not easy to adapt to. Even though I master the language and have many German friends, I still deeply have the feeling I don’t belong. I am ok with that, I still love the country and its people, but it’s not for everyone. \n\nIf you are a highly skilled worker with no previous connections to Germany, I don’t see many reasons anyone would pick it over other rich countries.

Yo, I gotta come clean, I'm from India, but hear me out, I'm not being racist. It wasn't Indians who legalized drugs in your country or messed up the housing crisis. Blame the people you voted for, man.\n\nIn my opinion, it's all the government's fault.\n\nEven though I'm Indian, I gotta say, I can't stand Brampton. It's not even Canadian, man. I'm all for multiculturalism, but some newcomers don't even try to interact with other cultures or learn about them. It's like they come to an English-speaking country and don't even bother to learn the language. I wish they could learn about Canadian customs and manners before they get here.

Landlord issue is far more than what is spoken.... they increase rent every year to incredible level.... the government speaks of affordable housing all the time, but nothing has been done so far.... the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer. Need to fix the system where everyone would live fairly.... ?

I suggest canadians learn hindi/urdu sooner or later...why dont the government include the language in the curriculum. You know, its going to be hard for future generations to survive in canada without speaking hindi/urdu.???

Literally no one recommended raising the immigration quota to 500,000 per year and on top of that there is the Ukrainian refugee programme and student visas. Anyway, speaking as someone who used to work as an immigration consultant, the best place for a YouTuber to live is Mexico. It's easy to immigrate, you're in the same timezone as most of the English-speaking audience (that makes the most money per view) and Mexico (and Canada) have extremely comprehensive tax treaties with the US and endless MOUs and so on, which make dealing with Google and the IRS super easy. Let's just speak the truth, shall we? Quebec has threatened to leave Canada, but so far has been staying. Thanks to billions of CAN $ being infused into it from from the Canadian Government.

Everyone says Germany needs IT staff but I'm a computer programmer with 25 years experience, and I haven't found a job in the last year and a half.\n\nAs for the language I've gotten dyslexia and I've always had problems learning languages, I've been trying to learn German for several years and I'm still awful.\n\nAs for Government offices you always have to speak German when you register where you live, or when you sign on une0loyed, or anything, you always have to speak German in a government office.\n\nCompared to the UK where you are not allowed to discrinimate against someone who doesn't speak English. Every government office outsouces translation services to companies who translate 200 languages into English. So where you're adopting children, or signing on unemployed whatever interation you have with a government worker you can do it in one of 200 languages. These outsourced translation services are basically a telephone call centre with translators on hand to help.\n\nIn the UK most forms are written in multiple languages. The form for unemployment is written in about 40 languages, if you don't speak one of those it'snot a ptoblem the outsouced tranlation services can help you fill in the form.\n\nIn Germany you have to speak German.

As an Indian student, i would like to share with you my perspective \n1) you will never see me dancing in public, blasting music and littering \n\nI actually spend my sundays cleaning plastic from trails \n\n2) i am a full time student for 4 years funding over 90 grand for a bachelor on top of that paying my taxes and paying 1100$ a month for rent being limited to 24 hours a week I do not work outside campus I work the job the college provided to me \n\nThe problem comes up when people use the 1 year and 6 month diploma program to enter the country and work here full time \n\nThey associate themselves only with indians mainly because they cant speak the English language fluently \nTherefore they associate with the exact people they associated with back home \n\nHow will they adapt to a new country if they hang out with the same people \n\n\nI came to canada with a goal \n\nTo make Canadian friends \nLearn about Canadian culture \nStart a new life \nAnd work my ass off to get my degree \n\n\nMost people move here to make more money \n\nThey sell their land and do so \n\nPlease do not associate hard working indians who adapt and leave their past behind with these people who have come here purely to exploit the system\n\n\nTrust me I know it's hard to hear this but good Indians do exist. As a child of immigrants, I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised at how sane and policy-based this comments section is when the issue is so aggravating to the public. It goes to show how badly the government at all levels has fumbled, and I can speak from my own experience that most immigrants and children of immigrants agree that we cannot let this many immigrants into the country without better integration and housing availability. It does not benefit ANYONE.

Landlords are taking advantage of supply and demand and over charge people. People I guess are saying F you! Were in a housing crisis and there are human rights laws . Peoples fundalmental rights under the code are being violated. I would say class action law suit against Canadian government. They increased immigration from 1x to 4x in a short period of time in a neglience way. I think Canadians are wimps compared to Americans...you know in the US everyone sues. Very different in that way. Here people just suck it up. Too polite and passive. Side note Look at line ups for fast food. Horrible service . No cashiers . You wait forever now and the funny thing is you see people just stand there all the time and accept the garbage service. Its hilarious. In the US people speak up and show feelings and emotion or just walk out. Here everyone is soft. At least every single time I have observed this behavior. Come on people we have to take a stand man. Stop being too polite and stick up for your rights.

They passed through a country that by that countrys own accounts have a great booming economy and is a great to place to live(according to mexican government). No im jot so sure they are actually Venezuelans im sure they are mexican using the sob story of venezuela to gain free entry. They also go through puerto rico and by papers from PR and come here under false citizenship status (purchased from ppl in PR) and speak a different spanish all together from us but claim to be puerto rican and displaying mexican traditions at the same time

As a Filipino watching the economy of USA from afar, I think that no other politician has shown significant concern to help its economy except for Trump. He's pretty bold and not scared to voice out issues that make the democrats uncomfortable. It is not for me to decide who others will vote. However, I see a leader in Trump and he's not afraid to fight back. It's only a matter of time for the Chinese to create its own microchips that are of novelty and prestige. Their economy is of course stagnant as of the moment because many foreign companies pulled out from China. Nevertheless, do you think it's going to be forever? They will cope and soon establish theirs given their population and government financial backing. Trump was right to put trade war against them to regulate foreign trade as it did with Japan. All countries will suffer when the dollar loses the international prestige. It is fastly losing it's international reputation as of these days. If this won't halt, imagine a future where the Chinese RMB will be the basis of international trade. You don't know the real plan of the Silk Road guys. Americans are conquerors and we have adjusted with their ways already. And, the Chinese are conquerors as well. Their goal is to really surpass the USA. The rise of China has benefited every ASEAN member, but greatly the former than the latter. We can adjust with their ways. However, America and Europe may not be that ready to adjust their ways for them should they surpass USA. The USA has become complacent and too liberal where individual rights, although important, have gone too far-fetched. This has created entitled individuals who think they own the world. Now, look at the Chinese. While most young Americans are busy dancing in TikTok and the likes of wasting time for entertainment, most young Chinese are studying hard and upskilling. Let's remember that America became great because of its inventions and extremely the nuclear power. Without great minds, minds that are feebled by drugs and misguided philosophies, a society will crumble. USA can use its weapons and influences against other countries, but can it hold the progress of it's rival economy for the rest of the years? You guys need a leader who is competitive and won't back down from a fight. As of these days, given only two political candidates to choose for presidency, I dare say that Trump has a higher bidding for the goodness of USA. Of course he wasn't able to accomplish his plan before after you guys impeached him. How the hell can a leader complete its plan after being halted unprecedentedly amid his administration? Kamala Harris looks promising but not convincing. Aura, although unquantifiable, do speak something. Choose your leader and it will choose your fate. Let's hear what the two sides will share this upcoming debate. If I'm American, whoever wins that debate, wins my heart. As easy as that. You see, if someone can be defeated so easily in his or her country through debate, do you think that whoever that someone who wins will be able to compete globally? Think of the likes of Putin and Xi Jinping. Think of a leader who can communicate with them effectively. That's all for me. Thank you

You don’t protect the boarders and allow this huge influx of immigrant into the USA, what do you expect and they think it’s open boarders for everyone. What kind of leaders do we have to think this wasn’t going to be out of control and workable. We already have enough illegal immigrants. Interesting. I am from Caribbean heritage born in England. Revoking silly use of the race card is quite satisfying! Im a foreigner in many ways too. Your observation of Asian migration is mirrored here too. It changes everything about your day to day and long term experiences and life chances. All life hs about creation and sharing of resource. Nobody speaks the same language safety at work compromised. I become excluded from planning risk assessments and u become other’d. Work practices and standards are different. Rules at the work place , different. Their religious rights alters the shared experience but allows for bad prsctice. Walking around talking on your phone all day is dangerous, exclusive, un professional discourteous and isolating. Safety gear ppe all different rules too. We are living in parallel realities. Its all short term and oppositional. Used to be called unworkable ! Thecommunity becomes Asian. Rules at council level alter bemteeen racial cultural preference. Parking on pavements before migration: dangerous, illegal, banned, fines penalties car removal. Where I live (Asian community) cars parked with Asian wardens waving the others by and creating traffic chaos, blocked un passable walk ways and pavements it breaks all the rules we were fined for, but a new norm without question in this community. Its isolating and disorientating but hey, its the new way. I think India has a lot to offer the world . And we have had a lot of it arrive , too much, according to many. This without anyone asking, discussing, debating, informing, admitting to the native populous. Its polite if nothing else, to respect the customs and the hosts of the place u arrive. Reality — these migrants bring their whole culture, family, friend group, political beliefs, problems and traditions with them. Humans and our stuff .\nFor government's to manage this project in such a sneaky and secretive way, adds to the problems.

Well said. Somebody like you needs to come forward and speak up. If these students are not eligible and not meeting the required criteria to get PR then they have to go back. This is ridiculous they are protesting and forcing government to achieve what they want?

quebec is not the best province unless you only speak french. it used to be, about 50 years ago. but they heve destroyed the english community and along with it, the province with their draconian language laws. i have been descriminated against, by the police, government agencies, some store workers and french citizens (who tell me to go back where i came from) here in quebec. montreal used to be canadas largest and best city but now it has fallen to 2nd place and rapidly approaching 3rd. toronto has surpassed it, vancouver is quickly catching up, and calgary, edmonton, halifax are all growing but montreal has stagnated. i know, ive lived here all my life. there is nobody left who i grew up with. friends and family have all moved on to better places. and none of them regret it. i have been to vancouver, calgary, new brunsdwick, nova scotia and P.E.I., and i believe all of them are better than living in quebec. there is a reason why rents are cheaper in montreal, but it is catching up to the rest of the country. and there is a large homeless community. i would put quebec at 8th or 9th. and B.C. number 1 with P.E.I. 2nd.

Its crappy, I'm at the point in my life where me and my fiancée are making more money then we ever have, but its going no where. We need immigrants, we do not need this much. I go on tiktok and there are tutorials for people coming into this country on how to obtain free food, like from food banks and what not, spite the fact we have minimum funding requirements for students coming here. It sucks, because the minimum isn't high enough for somebody to actually live off, and its taking food away from desperate Canadians who really need it. Some of my best friends are immigrants, and it sucks to try to speak up about it, only to be bashed as a bigot or xenophobic. I'm not either of those things, we just have a HUGE issue caused by a massive influx of people. Its not the people's fault, its the failure of our government. I have no issues with anybody who wants to live a better life, I have massive issues with a government letting new immigrants experience a mediocre, and overpriced, life at the cost of everybody else's life getting WAY more expensive and difficult. My rent for a 2bd apartment in 2014 was $770 all included, Grocery bill was about 170 every two weeks. That has all tripled in the last 10 years, Legit tripled. *Only mentioning those two, because they have gone up the most, but EVERYTHING has gone up. (about 2-3x) Its crazy to think when I was making 8-10 dollars less an hour, I had more money, it went MUCH further.

Pin points why Canada and even immigrants, including international students and temporary works dislike immigrants from Punjab:\n\n- They are rude. They have little to none concept of living in society. They are selfish, they are arrogant, and anyone who works in the serving/retail industry will they are the worst customers ever. \n\n- The level of entitlement is beyond absurd. When the leader of this protests in PEI was told “Canada needs doctors and nurses, not you (the guy graduated from a business program, and works at Tim Hortons still), he responded: “I don’t care what Canada needs, is what I need, for myself”, displaying what a great citizen he’d be.\n\n- They refuse to integrate. They left Punjab to pursue a better life, but they want to live like are still in Punjab. \n\n- They scam their way in. Banks in India will lend them money to come to Canada, they buy their IELTS results. 99.9% of all the students I dealt with who got caught cheating on their exams were from India.\n\n- The people we are receiving in Canada are members of a separatist movement. They have often blocked roads to protest against India, because they want Punjab to be separated from India, and turned into a new country called Khalistan. I highly doubt they would all move there if that actually happened.\n\n- Going back to the entitlement: They often abuse the human rights nature of Canada. They sued the government for the right to ride bikes without helmets, or to not be forced to used safety equipment in construction sites, and for the right to walk around carrying a dagger, because it’s a “religious item”. Canada also for some dumb reason accepts their arranged marriages as a real one. Punjab people need none of it, and Punjab fathers are selling their daughters to strange men, so the family can move to Canada together.\n\n- Statistics Canada often talk about how our population is aging: However, they do not disclose how many of these aging population is due to Indian nationals bringing their parents and grandparents with them. If we got a million Indian people in the past years, that would mean around extra 4 million people over 50 years old. That’s 10% of the entire population. \n\n- They are scammers. You said yourself: To be eligible for a mortgage , you need to make at least $250k per year. They are landing in Canada with no money, and buying houses right away, because they have a network of people forging financial documents, and the also have people infiltrated in banks to approve these processes. Not me saying, that was national news. \n\n- They are extremely racist. They will openly tell you they only rent/hire/do business with Punjab people. Now, even the buses are driven by Punjab people, is insane. And you can tell they are new comers, because some of them can barely speak English. But is a well-known fact: Once one of them is in, they will make sure to bring in as many of their countrymen as possible, and only them. The DEI department of my company approved a Punjab manager, and now more than half of the staff is Punjab. English is no longer spoken in the hallways. \n\nSo these are just few of the complaints I have about them. I moved to Canada for a better life, and I have fully adapted to this country, and I’m resentful that this government allowed these people to slowly turn Canada into India. I was sold the idea of diversity, and I fell for it. I’m the minority of the minorities. Despite being a full Canadian now, every single day I think more and more of just going home. I am not A Canadian I’m an American, but I interact with lots of Canadians as they find themselves coming down here for one reason to the other and I’m not near the border either. I’m quite far into the US in a major US city.\n\nThere are two types of Canadians that distinct themselves. The first group is the ones that are themselves immigrants that are naturalized. I make this distinction because many cases they have not assimilated. They still have their own culture from another country and is pointed out by the narrator people from south Asia and Asia strongly have their culture And language \n\n( Canada is good for allowing people to live in communities to cut themselves off from the main screen. You have people who speak the Ukrainian language Going Back 4 generations)\n\nThen I’m gonna have to use a euphemism that might make peoples hair stand on the back of their neck. I’m gonna call them. The white Canadians has a euphemism. These are people who are going so far back from the British Isles for the most part and the French also speak another language who have no connection to Europe. The English-speaking Canadians who are you from white could walk down or come down to the US and fit right in in a matter of weeks if they’re not already assimilated into the US Culture ( I hope I don’t see any fireworks start coming from this comment) Many of these white Canadians are now more economically disadvantage than the newer Asian and south Asian immigrants and find themselves often times competing for resources with these newer immigrants. Many immigrants more effectively when it comes to investment funds and banking as they formed their own little cocoon communities that don’t interact with the white Canadians.\n\nUnderstandably the white Canadians feel like they’re shut out, unappreciated by the government and now disadvantage and if they raise any protest, they’re called racist and white supremacist. \n\nJust so you know, I am not a white American, but I have an immigrant father from East Asia and I have relatives of my fathers who are also from the same Asian country who immigrated the Canada that I’m in contact with\n\nCulturally when I run into white Canadians, what I noticed is that their diction and speech is so clean clear and polished. It’s almost like they went to a finishing school or a low level class in diplomacy and public speaking many of these people come off like human resource people in the US because their culture is one of accommodation and consideration for other people they know how to be mindful of other people and these are great qualities\n\nYes, the Canadian government is messing up right now and they’re gonna wind up, ruining the social cohesion of their country if they have any and also wasting their human capital

Why is Canada inviting refugees and housing them in hostels while providing free food? Many of these refugees don't speak English and aren't interested in working. They receive financial support from the government, while we contribute to the economy by paying taxes.

Canadian Government forcing Canadians to Subsidize the worlds foriegn language speaking homeless. No one under 70 years old, speaks french. How will Canadas elderly be subsidized in retirement if Canada is subsidizing its immigrant youth?

Alright. The median age in Canada is 41years. That means in 20 years, majority of the population would be close to retirement, which also means that if a younger population is not 'brought in' it would be disastrous for the economy. That being said, the government can limit the number for people immigrating from certain countries. If you need more Europeans, you need to create a social support net better than Europe. Its purely logical. \nIf you do not want more Indians, you limit the number of Indians coming to Canada. Its simple. Hating them for who they are doesn't help. And same goes for the foreigners - In Rome, do what the romans do. Leave your ways at the door, relearn, adopt and adapt, else you will have the likes of Faulkner make you hate him for pointing the difference. Btw, he also forgets a few generations back his family was an immigrant too, who murdered the First Nations of this country. Not to remind him of what led to the Truth and Reconciliation Day. \nNow, that's not a justification for immigrants to be in your ways, its just to remind everyone that together as a society we have an opportunity to create something beautiful. Respect someone else's space, learn the new that comes your way, be it culture, history, anything. Pride is not bad as long as it inclusive.\nHere is something else to consider, wherever you get the 'immigrants' from, which English speaking country has the subset of non-radically religious and (comparatively) low crime population?

Immigrants speaking against immigrants ???, but as a citizen former Indian immigrant, I agree government should regulate immigration. Or they should lower the immigration from India, because hate for Indians is increasing day by day.

None of them speak proper English and all came here with fraud documents . It's the Canadian government themselves responsible for this catastrophic situation.

So many towns that were once beautiful have been ruined by immigration. The way the government has poorly planned immigration is the problem. It's not a cross section of culture's coming in - it's too many people from countries that have no plan whatsoever to assimilate or even treat Canadians with respect or gratitude. The real feeling, essence, the once awesome cultural mix is gone. We have so many coming here now who literally act and speak as though they are here to just take over and that will backfire for them. The real problem is that Indians don't assimilate very well. In Fiji Indians were first brought in 1879. After more than a century they finally took over the government. This has led to 4 coup de tat. I personally wonder if Pierre Trudeau implemented a plan of social engineering in order to destabilize English speaking Canada. A very real problem is legislation that has favoured minority groups. The 1984 Multiculturalism Act has stifled debate on the subject and the Employment Equities Act of 1986 has allowed minority hiring quotas to discriminate against the majority. Just remember that it was Canadians that voted for this.

Difference between legit immigrants and international students is that most immigrants are committed to staying long-term and contributing to the society and country. These international students have no such commitments, and they do not integrate. International students take up the jobs that tax-paying citizens used to do such as grocery store checkouts. The Dollar store near me used to hire older citizens but now they are filled with international students who don’t even speak English in the store. So frustrating!\n\nNoooo! Why should Canadian Government do something for International students? Shouldn’t that be done by their own Country’s government?

It wasn't like this 8 years ago and there's so many people of a certain demographic that outnumbers the others. Now, it's really hard to find a part-time job as student and our healthcare system is plummeting as well. Why we keep accepting them when we can't even afford to help our own citizens? This current government needs to step-down now; we don't speak for them. The fact that these people are able to rally in our country is absurd and they don't even have the rights in our country. This shows how weak the Canadian law is. They don't respect us and they mock our system.

I am shocked to hear this from a CBC reporter saying IMMIGRANTS get money from the government!! Where on earth did you get this ,outrageous information!! People who apply to come to Canada as legal immigrants , have to go through a strict points system.that can take years . Plus medical and security checks. I am speaking as an Indian, who lived and worked in Thailand for 2 years, and now will be moving to Europe on a specialist skills visa. Indians as immigrants have been a productive addition to any country worldwide, compared to other nationalities. But the only exception case is in Canada. \n\nThe reality is, in Canada, the majority of immigrants are only from a specific part of India (Punjab), and most of these people are deluded, uneducated and unskilled. You are 100% right, they are not there to upskill or even contribute. I can bet these people have not even lived in big cities in India itself, they come from villages and small towns and have never seen how modern societies or even cities work.\n\nI feel sad for Canadians because most of this is their government's fault. It is the leading example of a failing society, which attracts the most obnoxious group of people from around the world. Speaking as a Canadian who have left the country in 2021 and NOT looking back! \n1) healthcare: the quality and quantity is falling dramatically. Doctors are leaving south, healthcare budgets are keep being cut every year by our wonderful government. The quality is very poor. Waiting lines are insane! Ilyou can seriously spend the while day/night with your sick child in a waiting line at a hospital. Average is over 12 hrs already!!! \n2) criminal situation is worsening every year. Even in the best neighborhoods you no longer feel safe. \n3) schools/education: same thing. Teachers are leaving due to low wages and larger classes. Separate tutors for kids with special needs are being more and more limited. \n4) i know you mentioned it, but i want to reinstate: CRAZY food inflation. \nI have no idea how people are making it in Canada. Video titles like this are so stupid. Especially when in the video itself it speaks to the vacancy rate. Why is rent so high? Because the vacancy rate is so low which proves that A LOT of people want to live in Canada. The video itself speaks to NIMBYism and municipal government’s slow reaction to accommodate construction. The only thing the Feds did is to allow more people that want to be Canadians to have a chance. Low wages and the high cost of products are the fault of greedy corporations. Those people leaving and can no longer stay in Canada is the result of natural selection. I get that everyone is struggling, and feel that we need someone to blame. Since we can’t control our neighbours that stop progress and the corporations that gouge us, as a democracy, we go after what we do control- our government- even if the problem isn’t really of their creation. This issue of affordability is happening all over the world. Corporations and those who run them disproportionately keep all the money. But that doesn’t mean that Canada isn’t a great place to live and raise a family. It’s a huge country. The only thing the Feds can do is incentivize companies to set up shop in less desirable places and eleviate demand off of Vancouver and Toronto (the usual suspects and source for all those rental shortage b-rolls).
