It is challenging to be empathetic to these 'students.' I do think Canada should focus on graduating Canadian students with Canadian language skills and getting them into meaningful employment. Many of the TWP jobs can and should be filled by Canadian students who already speak one or both of Canada's official languages. It is getting increasingly difficult to be served effectively in English. French is less of a problem but too often Int Student Grads struggle to communicate in French also.

Part of the problem is our politicians becoming so corrupt working With your countrymen getting your kickbacks from a temporary foreign worker program. a temp work a program that's been going on for over 30 years so I hardly think it's temporary don't you? they don't realize how pissed off their constituents are. Everyone is confusing the increase rate of housing aka the housing crisis to the influx immigrants. The reality is most of the homeless people are on the street because Canada has not been able to create employment, stop the drug problem, and provide the people who already having citizenship with proper social scheme benefits. People never ask the quition who is benefiting from the increase in housing prices or what will Canada do if they get the international students who are pouring money into Canada's GDP. It's a fact that Canada is not strong when it comes to manufacturing, growth and other aspects which make a country strong economically. Pushing out immigrants will only hurt the growth of Canada and nothing else.

Why is it if employer already allowed to recruit and approved LMIA foreign worker still need work permit is just a redundancy. The problem also is there is a lot of skilled and professional with years of experience but cannot practice their profession and skills because Canada doesn’t recognized it.

I grew up in Canada and I'm white. When I went to high school everyone who I met grew up in the country so it was very easy to socialize and make friends. When I went to college it was a very big culture shock because everyone traveled to Canada from another country mostly India, Korea, China and the Philippines. Most indians/immigrants ive interacted with are insanely smart people. In high school all the native Canadians were a lot less intelligent vaping is a huge issue but everyone was highly social so I was able to fit in easily even though im a pretty unlikeable person. The problem is that in college I couldn't really make any friends because of the cultural differences and since native Canadians are very rare where I was studying the culture was also kinda different. So it kinda makes me feel like im an alien in my own country. But honestly everyone kept to them selves a lot more. There are a bunch of other factors like people hyper focusing on studying but I wish people would just socialize more instead of just doing their own thing.\n\nI still remember back in high school when people used to know about everything that happened if there was something that happened everyone would know about it because everyone would talk about it there were group chats with tons of people in it where people would organize things or share memes. I think people should take inspiration from this and probobly do this more often but now its honestly just very lonely.

So I understand why Canadians feel they way they do. Especially the ones born and raised here. I'm 31, was born here, and I often feel the same way everyone else does. The only problem that I see is that the issues that are in Canada are also in every other Western country. I'm concerned with the future, but I also know that throughout every generation, there are ups and downs. I'm willing to stick it out. I live outside of Toronto,I love the lack of natural disasters and access to water, and I still feel very safe. Although crime is up, it is nothing compared to the U.S. \n\nI'm actually living quite comfortably. Although my costs have gone up, I have made smart decisions in my life that allow me to live well. I own my own house, don't have car or credit card debt, and I only need to earn 40k a year to cover all of my bills. Every cent extra I earn goes to paying down my mortgage, gym, and golf once a week. \n\nThe question is, is it better l elsewhere? I don't know, but I am trying to be happy with what I have instead of what I could have had by being born 30 years too late. Ultimately, I would rather stay here work within the system to change it and continue to make smart decisions that put me ahead. Starting out all over again makes my stomach sick, and I love this country, despite it's flaws and its government, it has great people and beautiful nature. \n\nBest wishes to all of you other Canadians, and let's make it the Canada we want and deserve again.

Incompetent immigration policy by the Liberals is the major problem. Canada is not able to absorb so many people so quickly. Housing, healthcare, education are inadequate to serve all these newcomers. We need to take a pause and catch up with infrastructure before accepting more people.

Canada has not been the same as it was 10 years ago, why I say 10?, because life in Canada before Trudeau was great, people were happier, Canadians were proud to be Canadian and Canada was a place many people wanted to visit and immigrate to. Since Justin Trudeau has been our PM, Canada has become a terrible place, housing prices have doubled, cost of living doubled, pretty much everything in Canada has doubled including crime and drugs. Probably Canada is making more money thanks to the savings of those who are moving in Canada and bring here all they have. In addition to these money Canada has the continuously financial benefit from the relatives of emigrants who send money or visit and spend money in Canada. I don't know if there is a statistics about this but probably somebody know well. Thus Canada is spending less than is gaining by the emigration system. Another aspect is related with the family problem. It seems in Canada there are many separated families, divorced. Probably this is because Canada is taking emigrants good for work by separating from their familiei. It was not different in the past with the slaves. Thus the people arriving here are missing the solidity of a complete family , with parents, grand parents, grand grand parents. A young family has more stability living with their large family. The disruption of the family by the emigration system has the result in more people living alone due to divorce.

Nobody is mentioning this is a governmental problem, with the Invitation to LMIA workers and other new people and Illegals Canada has become this way since we voted the government to do this.

I moved to Australia from Canada over 20 years ago. After the draconian lockdowns and being forced out of my job by j mandates, I've wanted to get the hell out of this country. Since Labor won all state elections and the federal election, things have taken a serious downturn. It's a big clown show. The state government here in Victoria, home of Dictator Dan, has racked up such a colossal debt that there's just no way out of it. They're raising taxes and making up new ones as the go along into the abyss. There's nothing here but a big real estate bubble and when it pops, there will be tent cities all over the place. The government created the problem just like in Canada. They increased the population by 1.6% in ONE SINGLE YEAR with immigration and now there's not enough housing to meet demand. The lockdowns took all my savings and a chunk of my superannuation to just survive, and I was robbed of over a year of earnings by the government. I've been stuck in this massively over-priced hovel for 3 years longer than I had planned and now would be lucky to even be in the top 20 picks for a rental, at twice the price. It's only a matter of time before the job market implodes due to business closures and the all around terrible climate in which to start new business. I want out, but the prospect of returning to Canada is beyond depressing. Everything that drove me out of Canada in the first place is 10x worse now. My other alternative is UK but I don't feel like going to prison for liking memes about Keir Starmer on Facebook, so UK is out of the question. Not to mention that it's economically doomed and has a worse healthcare system than Canada. There are lines around city blocks to get into a GP clinic.

To stop the inflow of immigrants to canada the canada govt should adopt the policy of skilled workers contractual only in which a skilled worker is hired for 1yr or 2yrs contract with free airfare n paid one month vacation free lodging and their families are not allowed to be with them that is what middle east countries are doing that is they are allowed to be recontracted same as in saudi arabia they have developed without the problem of immigration

Too old for that now. \n I spent four months in the mountains of northern Thailand, and two months in and around Siem Reap, Cambodia. Decided on Cambodia. Wonderful place. It has its problems, but improving. A single westerner can live a simple life there on $700 U.S. a month as long as you don’t waste your money. I have at least $1200 a month available, so no problem. A very comfortable and secure life. \n Tropical…so no heating bills…and no snow to shovel. \n Cambodia is also central to the area……easy bus trips to Thailand, Laos, Vietnam when you want to visit those places. Not too long a flight if you want to visit India and Sri Lanka. \n I’ll fly out again this spring, 2025…..and this time I won’t be back. Bye bye Canada ✈️ ?? ?? ? ? ? ?? ☸️ ?

To be fair unlike America, canada does ACTUALLY have an immigration problem. Immigrants in canada remind the Canadian citizens every day why they are falling into poverty and have no more future. Canada is so spread out that it is difficult to get anywhere without having a car . The airlines are all fleeing service to the small cities. That is a big problem for people who want to travel internationally. I remember when I lived in Quesnel BC in the 1970’s , there was a PWA Boeing 737 - 200 with daily service to Vancouver. Now there is no longer any flights to Vancouver from Quesnel . Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal are the only options for international travellers.

It's all fine and well that you want to leave Canada but where will you go that's any better? After all it is your choice. The problems we see happening around the world are a global problem. There are at least 2 major wars going on. Inflation is rampant in most countries in the world and we ARE heading for a global economic depression that will dwarf anything that we've seen in the 1930's. Speaking for myself my roots are here in Canada which is not the Canada I grew up in anymore. Sadly. Used to be a really great place to live until Trudeau and his band of thieves ruined it. I may as well make my last stand here. If I was going to move where would I go. The EU? Absolutely not! They're tanking. America? No effing way! The American empire is collapsing. Along with the FED note. South America? Don't think so. Most S. American countries are iffy at best. Australia? No. They're nuts. New Zealand? No. They're struggling badly and people are leaving there in droves. Africa? No way in hell. So that doesn't leave very much. Antarctica? Little on the cold side. Few amenities. ;) May as well stay where I am and take my chances. Better the devil I know than the one I don't. If you're serious about moving out of Canada be sure to do your due diligence and research about your target country. Grass always looks greener on the other side but many times isn't once you get there. One place that I AM attracted to is the Azores. Beautiful place. Friendly people. Good climate. One drawback is that I don't speak Portuguese. And I would have to be independently wealthy. After a certain amount of time out of the country I would lose my Canadian pension. Canada can fix this with real estate investors help. The problem is supply and demand. If there are more rental units and homes to buy, renters win. Investors like me want to see renters win. People are supposed to rent save up money and then buy their own homes.

All of the leftist political parties in all Western democracies have increased massive immigration exclusively, from 3rd World pagan cultures, such as China, India, Africa, the Middle East and Haiti, in order to soften the influence of Western culture and try to lock in the left-wing vote. Today when you drive along Steeles Ave, along the southern edge of Markham, you will see only Chinese light boxes and 3d signage adorning all of the super malls there. No English and no French. The real goal of diversity is to erase Western culture which, was one of Karl Marx's wishes.

I wished to move to Canada 12 years ago. I am American. I was told that I needed a job and that job NEEDED to be filled. This would allow me to move there. I didn't move. Now with the migration crisis, too many immigrants at one time will overload the system and overpopulate a country. I fear with the climate crisis constantly reshaping our futures, that immigration will be an ongoing problem for the entire world. I believe countries must plan for even more immigration waves due to climate change. The Earth is changing...people will be moving to save their lives, to have a future. As human beings we must adapt to these pressures and changes in our planet. Make it livable, or else face the consequences of seeing millions of people die because you were unwilling to open your borders. There is room, just get rid of the greed. This planet , its peoples,must find ways to live together. Education, to keep the planet healthy, stop overpopulation, keep the air and water clean...stop the greed are the goals we must strive to follow.

Couple that with a low-interest rate policy post GFC and leave rates for that low for that long and you are going to witness an epic housing crisis. But not just that - these new immigrants become fodder of cheap labor that pushes out our very own Canadian citizens from these positions, with the more marginalized ones ending up on the streets. \n \nThere is a Motel 6 in my neighborhood that has been taken over by the Canadian government and converted to temporary housing for new immigrants. All paid for by Canadian taxpayers. Why isn't our own government using these funds to fix the housing crisis, or help it's own citizens with more affordable housing but instead they continue to exacerbate this problem by letting a huge wave of immigrants that overwhelms the Canadian infrastructure. More proof? Notice more locked up goods in your local stores? The demand shock has pushed the cost of living for everything from food to shelter that these Indians who are these same new immigrants are resorting to shoplifting, and extortion! \n \nIf you are going to bring in immigrants to prop up Canada's aging demography at least tighten your admission standards and bring in more educated ones, with more liberal, more considerate and more courteous dispositions. This is generally among the working class. \n\nIn the early 1990s I was doing a lot of work in Canada for a US tech company. I am an American, by the way. One time I was working with a Chinese Canadian engineer, who worked for the client company. We went to the loading dock to check on the equipment from my company, which had just arrived. The native Canadian loading dock workers were openly making racist slurs about the Chinese engineer, right in front of him. He was very careful not to respond. I asked him about it later, and he just waved it off. This was in the Toronto area. I was also warned about Chinese who were involved in organized crime in the city. Then, a few days later I saw it in downtown Toronto. Two Chinese men in a Mercedes had stopped on the road and pulled a woman out of the car and started threatening her. It was a tense situation. \n\nOften it is the government types that welcome the immigrants, for various reasons. Canada does indeed have a demographic problem. \n\nThis is not the 19th and early 20th century in Canada or the US or Europe. Today we have extensive social safety nets. This means taxpayer dollars. In the earlier times the immigrants had to fend for themselves. Even then, there would be feelings against the immigrants. At least in the US it was a time of rapid economic and geographic expansion. Not so anymore.

The condos being built for PROFIT are the problem. These are not meant for lifetime Renters who are low income. Also, Blackface Trudeau DID THIS??. I’m an immigrant we came in 1982 , but the problem now is a lot of people here don’t want to integrate with Canadian society and want instead bring their own beliefs. Part of being an immigrant is to assimilate into the culture and not be an outsider. To me Canada is home , this is where I met my wife and my children are born. But you have to work for it because nothing is free. The key word is to become one of us , to become Canadian ??

A big part of the problem in Ontario at least are the huge numbers of foreign students.The government of Ontario allowed a large number of fly by night schools to open up to attract foreign students with the promise of a high quality Canada education. The schools charge the foreign students very high tuition, but give very poor service. They have no student housing, no proper campus and often don't even have classrooms or lecture halls that can handle the number of students they have enrolled. The students end up paying a fortune for a second class education, it is little more than a scam.

I get that there is a huge problem in Canada with immigration but this interviewer asks too many leading yes/no questions. Can't really get a clear sense of what the interviewees actually feel and have experienced as opposed to what the interviewer wants to hear.

Most people in Canada do like immigrants and try and want to accept newcomers . I am happy to see new faces younger people, people with a different outlook. However this lack of housing is a major problem for poor and lower middle class people - citizens and noncitizens. Unfortunately rents are a racket in most cities, the real estate business is full of unnumbered accounts and money laundering; Canada is full of organized crime from all over the world, we cant control foreign attempts at killing our citizen. So we can tell our government is not efficient and is doing a poor jobHowever I dont think the average immigrant is the problem and I feel they are treated like rubes by our government and taken advantage of and so are Canadians of different ethnic backgrounds who also suffer the same problems of many immigrants. That's the truth. Letting people in with out providing opportunities for jobs, housing, support is foolish and destructive to our country. Our politicians are selling us down the drain-i.e. all those who are not in the upper middle class or the elites. POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!! VOTE FOR CHANGE !

Zero-net population growth or very slow growth is desirable for a host of reasons. Immigration is not inherently a virtue. Not inherently a vice either. Its value depends entirely upon the context in which it is taking place. Here are some reasons why Canada should reduce immigration to achieve eventual zero-net population growth.\n\n(1) The ecology: Canada is possibly the world's worst country per capita in producing waste – certainly among the worst. (a) As of now we have a population of 40 million. At its present rate of growth our population will reach 50 million in 2041. This will require a 20% reduction in waste production per capita simply to keep waste production at the present level. This reduction will not happen. (b) In addition, freshwater resources cannot be expanded at all, really (desalinization can only produce a drop in the bucket). Hence, look for shortfalls in water availability. (c) From a global perspective, it is the rich countries, such as Canada, that pollute the most, both absolutely and on a per capita basis. Therefore rich countries should not increase their populations. Immigrants do not come to rich countries to be better ecologists than the citizens of those countries. Immigrants to Canada want to live like Canadians, as Canadians. The problem here is not that they will not assimilate to Canadian ways, but that they will. \n\n(2) Housing: with 500,000 new immigrants a year, housing starts cannot keep pace. The result: ever-inflating housing costs. Rich immigrants compound the problem. \n\n(3) Suburbanization: most of the new housing in Canada is in highway suburbs (over 80%), with their car-driven way of life. Once again, this is bad for the country’s ecological health. In addition, the result will be ever-growing geographies of nowhere. We will not be creating more Victorias or Quebec Cities. We will be creating more Surreys. \n\n(4) Downward pressure on the incomes of most people: the law of supply and demand is very simple: when there is a surplus of any commodity, that commodity becomes cheaper. When a commodity is scarce, its value rises. Labor is a commodity. Workers rightly do not want there to be a surplus of labor. Their livelihoods are threatened. \n\n(5) Future care of the old: the more people we add now, the more people we will have to take care of later, when their working lives are done. Adding immigrants now to pay for the care of the old is therefore a pyramid scheme. Eventually, in a generation or two, the population of the world is set to decline, and the well of immigrants will run dry. Canada should aim for fewer, rather than more, retirees – as preparation for that coming moment.

The problem is that people don’t understand that Canada is a federation. There needs to be coordination between the federal government and the provinces. Canada lets people in, provinces provide the services. Canada doesn’t build housing, provinces and municipalities do. Canada doesn’t build schools. Canada doesn’t build hospitals. This is a federation and until people understand the country they live in, they will never solve all the challenges ahead. Just like Quebec, all provinces should negotiate with the federal government to provide immigration permits according to their needs. The more Ottawa centralises everything, the bigger the problem will become.

Make no mistake. Canada is not the US or Georgia Meloni's Italy. The sense that the immigration of the last half century has been overwhelmingly positive for the country is widespread outside of a few predictable nativist Anglo enclaves. The key problem is the disconnect between the demands of employers and the labour market situation on one hand, and housing on the other. The national and provincial governments abandoned any involvement in housing beyond zoning issues in the 1970s. The provision of affordable housing can never be done by private developers alone with our subsidies or coordination with the state. There are simply too many problems of market failure. Instead what they can provide is more and more higher-end housing. The national government has never connected the various aspects of immigration so that now Canada's largest cities simply cannot cope with the number of incoming migrants.

I'm not a Canadian. The rational question to ask is--how much of the problems noted are new and real; how much is due to immigration; how much is fabricated by self-seeking politicians; how much is due to the wealthy becoming wealthier; and what should we (all nations, not just Canada) do about world-wide inequity. I'm not saying that it is the wealthier nations' responsibility to provide for the less wealthy and the impoverished, but what should we do? Anything? Nor am I saying, we should have less so that others can have a little more. But should we ignore those who have less--far less? And, how much of the problem, real or not, is due to the reasons given in this video? In this video, I do not see any serious statistics or economic analysis. A theme in this video is that growth is essential. But there's a limit to that too. Maybe these are signs that the world of growth across the globe is ultimately doomed. Are we capable of understanding the world with sufficient precision? Or is all our economics ultimately a sham?

Problem is not immigration but how we are settling new immigrants. In the 1970s Canada accepted 200k Vietnamese refugees after Vietnam War. They were settled into small towns across Canada. That is why even in a small town with population of few thousands, we still have Vietnamese restaurants around the corner.\n\nLooking at the future, world is becoming more localized. While politicians are calling for setting up local manufacturing, they failed to comprehend the most basic economic principle that we need a labour force to have any industry or economy. Rather than setting up a better program to help immigrants intigrating into our economy, and stimulating development in less populated towns and provinces, they only know to stoke comflicts and scapegoating...\n\nI wish mandatory Econ 101 class is given to anyone running for office.

Canada has a serious problem dealing with a large influx of migrants coming from India. I am American who just traveled to Toronto last week and noticed Indians are everywhere, literally everywhere. It makes me wonder why so I looked into some statistics which showed the number of immigrants coming into Canada from India is equivalent to the number of immigrants coming from many other countries combined. Immigration itself is fine but why importing so many people from one particular country India - this is the question Canadian citizens should ask their government

Honestly as an Immigrant I was definitely lied to by the country of Canada, and tbh this concern is lined with racism to an extent, but there are some valid concern for the most part. \n\nCanadian universities came to me high school, one of the academically successful high schools on my island and tried to take every single high performing student. Honestly immigrantion is an issue for everyone, but it won’t stop until the bigger western countries stop making oppressive laws forcing people out of their country. \n\nThis is not the immigrants problem, Canada is the problem. Also I lived in Toronto, the biggest issue is NOT immigration, the issue is the fact that they are tearing down cultural institutions to build condos. condos are a bigger problem than immigrants. Canada is pricing Canadians out of housing, then blaming immigrants. You guys need to see that for what it is, because a lot of us were lied to, Canada is lying to all of us, its citizens and its immigrants.

The problem with some of the immigration is that some forget the values and ethics! Something simple is like waiting in a que or driving on the road.\n\nThis idea of Canada dream is a false dream cannot start a family or buy a house.\n\nI’m saying that - Canada is land of opportunity, if inflation was a lot lower and salaries were not living hand to mouth. People’s quality of life would improve and people would be happier which would result in playing staying in Canada and helping the country grow.\n\nWhat is failing Canada is excuses blaming 1980 1990 is poor we in 2024 country has had 24 years to move forward. With Justin pushing for immigration so hard, housing should have been kept on par with it. This is a government fail. Sooner or later water and hydro will feel the pitch of the population and then Canada will fall from 1st world to 3rd world and people will be looking back not knowing how they got here so quickly.

If Canadians think new govt will solve the problem. They are dead wrong. This is the vicious cycle they can not get out. Their own structure can not support pensions and salaries. They need to bring in new immigrants otherwise the system cycle will collapse. As far as housing is concern. Does Canada have shortage of land ? Its due to policies that new housing is not coming up thus driving prices through the roof. No govt will gonna change that because corporate interests are involved and not house owners wanted their prices to go down. Which happened to be biggest voting block. Thus ordinary young Canadians are feeling the music and they see new students as the enemy. In fact it is the students who go through horrible exploitation ordinary Canadians cannot imagine. Canadians economy is an artificial economy based AND ITS BUBBLE WILL GO POP IF IT STOPS IMMIGRATION. Harsh reality and see if Mr Poilievre gonna change that ??. They are all the same bunch of liars like Trudeau. Don't forget Trudeau was charming prince ones. They all change with Realities.

I agree with this feeling shared all over. No, for now Canada don’t need a lot of people. The country need to fix this housing problem and fix its immigration policy. It’s insane to see people paying for 900$ for shared bedroom, this is crazy. Fix it first then later you’ll scale up the immigration process again.
