In a best case scenario, DJT will rescind the tariffs on Canadian goods. In the worst case, we get even poorer. If this happened after Trump became president the first time, the economy was strong from 4 years of Obama's presidency. Then COVID happened, and for alot of folks here, they haven't recovered financially. Savings and retirement plans are gone. Rent is higher, for many it takes over 50% of their income. So in this emergency time, there's nothing to fall back on. Oh and DOGE will cut SNAP benefits, I'm sure. That's food stamps, meant for the people struggling. It's becoming more and more of Americans. \nAm I depressed? No, I lived through Reagan's presidency. I'm cautious about life, my job, commuting to work, putting food on the table. I'm gonna try growing veggies. I already eat 75% of my meals at home or taken from home-cooked meals. I'm saving as best I can.

Trump is a big mistake for American. After 4 years in office, US will regret voting Donald Trump.\nThis is not the way to make US great. Imagine putting fights in all ur allies. Canada just needs to fix the trade deficit with the United States. If Trudeau does, the U.S. tariffs would not happen. Canada has turned a deaf ear when the U.S. requested a fair trading partner and less deficits in the past decades. Trump was obligated to put a tariff on Canadian goods entering the U.S. since Canada did not resolve the problem.

At least the Canadian government spends their money on their citizens unlike our traitors like Biden and Trump who put Israel even before the God they worship its mental illness

I wonder why any nation would not equally respond. Trump pretty much declared economic warfare on all nations with putting tariffs on everyone. If all of them choose to put counter tariffs on the US, i doubt the US will be able to weather such storm without a scratch.

You say intelligent words right from the start and you deliver a strong message in a very strong manner, beginning with this: the US is declaring economic war on Canada, as well as strong arguments, and that fentanyl is just a pretext, which we all already know, that getting closer to Russia and cutting ties with its allies is Donald Trump's current course of action, and the fair question to ask is why is this man putting himself at the service of the Kremlin which is totally unnatural for an American.?

Canada (and many other countries) spent decades supporting the maintenance of US hegemony. Look what it got us? To a position where we're pretty much greatly dependent on, and at the mercy of the US. It is very simple, just like Donald Trump is, he puts the tarifs on products, so live for people get even more expensive, then after a while he will change his mind and the tarifs wil disapear and products gets cheaper again. THEN he will proudly say that he took care of the high prices. The speech of Mr Trudeau, the way Canadians have shown solidarity for one another, today it all puts my country, The US, to shame. I am ashamed of what my government is doing and I am disgusted with the people doing it. In Mr Trump’s first term, as eclipsed as they were by the many many many actions and attitudes he imposed on us that embarrassed and hurt us as a country, there was the rare occasional decision I could at least understand even if I did not support it. Since taking office literally not one thing he has done has made sense to me as an American. I can only say how sorry I am for what the country I love is being used to do to you all, especially our closest allies and friends and in particular the people of Canada today. I grew up in Commerce Twp Michigan. I visited Canada regularly and, even as crime from Detroit poured across the border into Canada, Canadians always treated us with respect and welcome.
