It's been great that we generally have more visibility in media, and the federal government has listened to more of our requests than in years past, and healthcare costs and education gets covered quite a bit. That being said, a lot of Indigenous folks are poor and will very likely stay that way. If middle-class people are facing financial struggle, then it's even worse for us.\n\nIMO, as things get tight, what'll begin happening is what happens on reserves -- families will cram themselves into houses. Adult children living with their parents, young couples living with parents, and single adults having 2+ roommates well into their 30s, 2 people per bedroom.\n\nPlease though, advocate for more housing to your local government. Don't be a f'kin NIMBY. We need homes, multi-unit and single, rentals and ones to own.

I am one of those after and 33 years in Canada .I am 70 years old and still working to make living. Last week I watched our government meeting. They want to help Canadian citizens help with heating expenses with heat pump. Just think how long will be to install to each house heat pump? ( first cost and Canadian climate no works anyway)No one this people didn’t say we are oil country just built refinery and make heating cheaper. On thanksgiving I was sick and go to the emergency in Winchester hospital and after 2 hours waiting the nurse told me today is waiting time to see doctors is 12 hours and I went home. That other reason.

what has been shared in this video is nothing that people are not aware of. Everybody knows that you have to do all the work yourself,no maids, cooks, etc. like India.These facts have been there for years, nothing new about them. If people want to got there for further education, it is different, but then Canada is not all that good as far as higher education is concerned, there are better countries to choose from with better weather conditions and better lifestyle and high class education. Who would want to live in a cold and inhospitable country, payig through your nose. Here in India, if we fall sick even with just cough / cold, we can go to the nearest doctor and get medicines, sometimes we can even just ask the pharmaists to help us to choose some medicines for pharmasist here are half doctors.\nEven our standard of living has become so good, that we don't even feel like shifting to a new country. We have metros, good buses both AC as well as non AC, good trains, good resturaunts, hotels, what is it that we don't have here?\nIt is always better living as a first class citizen in our own country, than living like second class citizen elsewhere. The attraction and the charm of living abroad is no longer there.\nOur country has improved so much and so fast in the last 10 years, we have good bathrooms in schools and other public places, which was not there previously. Only drawback in our country is the traffic and infrastructure, which will also become better, but will take time, because of our country's population.\nIn fact you will find servants and watchmen all coming to work in a bikes or scooters, which was unthinkable some years back. Their life has changed for the better, they live in rented flats/or on lease, their children study in good schools and so on, and they dress also so well, that you cannot differentiate between them and the people they work for.\nMany of the so called advanced countries do not have many well educated people like our country, the children there are not as knowledgeabe like Indian kids, their knowledge is limited to the town they live in, they don't know anything about the world outside.\nAnd now with the Khalistani terrorist living freely there it is all the more dangerous. I'm from Asia and recently moved to Canada with my family to live a slower-paced and safer life. I've seen firsthand that the drug problem here is worse than it was back home, and they're being coddled with no plans to discipline or rehabilitate them. I asked my friends how I could defend myself and my family if a random drug addict broke into our house and stole our belongings; could I at least beat that person up until the police arrived? They said you couldn't because you'd be charged with assault. It's funny. \n\nApart from the crimes and exorbitant living costs despite living in a rural area, even Canadians who have lived in the country since birth are struggling to make ends meet. \n\nSome positive comments, Canada provided me with a work-life balance that was not possible in Asia due to the competitive nature of the corporate world. So I had time to spend with my family, and you don't have to travel abroad to see beautiful scenery. Canadians are also very accommodating and friendly, in contrast to where I came from, where people will not help unless it benefits them as well. The Canadians here are extremely friendly. So Canada is great because of its people, but I can tell you that the government consistently makes bad decisions about how to solve certain problems, such as drugs and harm reduction strategies. Another issue is that they do not recognize internationally trained professionals, which could have helped alleviate healthcare issues in our area, where we have many internationally trained nurses from the Philippines working as restaurant servers and janitors. We have doctors from Kenya who have to work as general laborers and in other odd jobs where they can use their profession and experience to help people. I am also an immigrant, but the government should strategically distribute us based on our qualifications. I chose a rural area because I don't want to add to the number of immigrants in big cities and instead want to contribute to the local economy by bringing my skills and experience to the pool. \n\nCanada is a wonderful country, and I continue to believe so, but the government must reward and do more for its people who are trying their best to make this country great.

I live in a small rural Northern community, East Indian immigrants have bought out or taken over nearly every business in the community, our car wash, both grocery stores, both Hardware stores, subway, pizza place, two of the three restaurants, only motel, nearly all the rental properties, and they are shifting their investment now to homes, as we can still buy homes up here for reasonable prices, they are buying them, doing some cheap renovations, and trying to flip them for large amounts. All these local small businesses in the community used to employ young people from the community, they used to be places of employment for summer jobs for students and for the elderly people who retire here to have jobs to keep busy. Since the influx of people from India, all of the jobs in these stores that have been bought out by them are now done by Indian people, nearly everyone who used to work these jobs in my community has lost the opportunity to do so because since the businesses were bought out by Indians they only hire their own kind as employees. I know at least 10 people directly that have lost their jobs due to this, and there are certainly more. We allow foreign investment in our business and real estate market, and these people come in, completely take over and dominate these small communities, and fill them with their young people from India and take away all the jobs from the local people living here. Its horrible. My wife and I are planning on moving to Eastern Europe, Canada in another few decades will be nothing more than a province of India.

As a Canadian, I want to leave. This country is shameful and the politicians are corporate puppets who don't care about citizens or social stability. No one I know owns a house (we're in our 30s in Toronto) and very few people can even save up due to rising cost of living. The censorship and blocking of news is so dystopic. This is just a sinking ship at this point and I want my kids to have a viable future.

Look as a product of an immigrant father myself, we simply can't afford to take care of the Canadians we have, never mind all these people who come to Canada with no jobs, no housing, no money, possibly no ability to speak English or French. Like it or not, our taxes are going up and our services are going down. The government is focused on GDP numbers as opposed to GDP per capita, which essentially means while our production numbers are artificially enhanced the quality of life per person is rapidly declining. We're talking about flooding Ontario with 500,000 new immigrants, God knows how many Indian paypigs... I mean students for colleges and universities, as our government is giving tax breaks to Atlantic Canadians and torturing everyone else for going greener with natural gas. We're living in a country where it is very possible to hold down multiple jobs and still be homeless in 2024 and we're talking about more immigrants? We can't afford the people we have now and we're talking about bringing in more? Who's building the homes for these people? The last couple million of immigrants who were supposed to build homes didn't build anything so now we're bring in more to build homes for the last couple million who were supposed to build homes plus Canadians who has been here for more than a July on a sidewalk.

Absolutely not !!!\n However, corruption and mismanagement is eating 60-70 % of Canada's revenues\n As an Example : Canadian oil is giving away to American companies almost for free in return of of a royalty fee 3-5% , so, American sell our crude for $100 per barrel but Canada gets only $5 from this $100 , same thing is happening in our mining industries : Gold , Copper, Uranium. \nBecause, Canada DOES not have enough refineries to produce its gas it needs therefore, it has to buy it from USA at a market price !!!\n Canadian electricity is more worse, Qc sells its electricity To USA at 3cents per KWH\nthen Ontario buys it from USA at market price 50-75 cent per KWH\nCanadians are ripped off : for every Dollar the government gives to a special needs or welfare candidate, the government spend $10-$20 to manage this ONE Dollar, things are more worse with natives : the government spend $20 to $30 to manage each Dollar a native candidate gets !!!!!\n Probably !!!!!! Canada is in a catch 22 situation: We need to reduce immigration to restore the trust needed to build prosperity (the research on this is absolutely clear - see Putnam, et al, for example.), and we need to maintain it to make up for labor shortages. The fact is, polls show that trust is at an all-time low between Canadians, and it is due to bringing in too many people who are self-segregating and not assimilating. We pumped massive excess cash into our economy during COVID, did not produce enough housing, introduced laws that severely constrained agriculture and dramatically increased the costs of food distribution, and brought in massive numbers of immigrants, among other things. The fact is, we have crushed the birth rate, made homes too expensive, and raised the cost of living to a point where people are desperate, and our school system has destroyed the enterprising spirit that built our economy in the first place.

These politicians talk incessantly about those poor refuges living on the streets. They never mention the 500,000 Canadians who are homeless. The government of Canada is ignoring the desperate Canadians who have nowhere to live and nothing to eat. I'm not against immigrants or people of any nation, but we have a serious homeless problem in Canada and it seems senseless to continue to fork out our Tax dollars to those who have contributed nothing and ignoring the needs of it's own citizens. This is a disgrace and completely unacceptable.

We are in a very broken state, we have a labor shortage so we need immigrants, but we also have a housing shortage so we don't have enough housing for the people already living here so we definitely don't enough for the immigrants that we need to fill the labor shortages either. I work in construction and I know quite a few contractors in my town, I know one guy who has been sitting on a piece of property for 3 years waiting for the go ahead to start building, but our local government is dragging their feet. The 2 4plexs he is building could of been done already giving 8 more families a home, but instead its just an empty lot waiting to be developed.

so our standard of living has been reduced to the point that people feel they are better off in the third world. by extension canada has been reduced to 3rd world standard of living. congrats globalists

Reddit is a very leftist platform and so these types of responses were predictable. A lot of it would have been true in the 70s and 80s but these are Canadian stereotypes that people are desperately holding onto. More and more things are being delisted from our healthcare coverage, meaning that I often hear of people getting charged out of pocket. I was surprised 3 years ago when my doctor ordered a cancer screening after I was suffering a digestive issue. I was not prepared to pay out of pocket for something as essential as cancer screenings. This sort of thing always used to be covered. It was always covered by our much higher cost of living and our higher taxes. If my taxes keep going up, I expect services to get better, not to decline like they have been. Our seniors are afraid to go to the doctor these days. Suicide is being offered to them instead of proper care and treatment. After they had spent decades working and paying into the system they are being shut out.

I am a Canadian exasperated with the wait times for medical care here. There is a lot of prejudice in Canada against America. Our politicians are ruining our economy and many Canadians are more interested in sensationalism about American politics than they are about problems here. Everyone living in peace and safety can afford to criticise others. But Canada was safer, friendlier and more economically responsible in the past. There are unsafe neighbourhoods here, too. There is poverty here, too. Those who don't see deterioration are not looking closely. We battle the same demons as any people group and are just as vulnerable to calamity as our American neighbours. I don't want to leave my country. The people I love are here. The rising cost of living gives me fears about future homelessness. I grew up as a patriotic Canadian and believed America was our friend. We thought maybe Americans were more prone to bragging while Canadians were more modest. My nearest city used to be vibrant and friendly and now it is colder, more dangerous and there is visible ruin from addiction.

And why? What for? Why so much desperation?? India is not perfect but is not bad either. People r living good life despite problems. Both Canada and America have huge problems right now. As a 73yo Canadian I have NEVER seen so much hate for our Government. Everyone has the exact same complaints, like it was scripted. Our press is constantly stirring the pot and it makes unsatisfied Canadians more angry every day. The negative press pounding on our PM never ends. There are YouTube channels that take every little Canadian fault and make it into the crime of the century. Worse, they make money doing it.\n \nCanadians have been spoiled with our social services and lack of crime, and our beautiful country etc. I'm so tired of the complaining and whining that makes my life more miserable than the cost of living does. I'm a ??can who moved to Europe 22yrs ago through recruitment agency - the employer paid for my professional REGISTRATION with the nursing board, for my work authorisation permit before I even left, sent me a written 2 yr work contract, the flight(return), a taxi pick up from airport & accommodation for 2 the 1st weeks bnb.\n2. I had worked in ?? for 15yrs, 3 diplomas and a post grad degree, I and had bought myself a small property 4yrs into my career on a 60% government subsidy.\n3. I was in a management position for over 7yrs. \n4. Looking back now, the people I went to college with got millions of Rands at age 60 for their retirement pension. \n5. I am waiting to be 65 for a mere €32 000 retirement lump sum and a weekly income of about €400 plus. \n6. I bought myself a small property after renting for 9yrs here, it was not easy to raise funds while paying rent which is HALF YOUR SALARY, but it was worth it. I still have a balance on my bond which my pension lump sum wont even shift\n6. The regrets I have is that:\ni) I missed out on family, friends and christianity quality life, \nii) I spent too much money flying home every yr and sometimes 2 X a yr to keep my sanity and to bond with my family - adult kids and siblings & now grandkids\niii) I could have had a fair and equal opportunities to improve have more accademic and work status in my own country than in a foreign land & my experienced would have been not only recognised when it suits the employer, but it could have been openly VALUED and NURTURED if I was serving in my own country\niv) I could have retired 3 yrs ago and had a paid up bond and a nice retirement car\nThe POSITIVE side is that: \ni) I have a property in a good area that I can rent out for extra income \nii) I have enjoyed travelling around the world and living in A relatively SAFE COUNTRY for over a decade.\niii) I have come to realise that - \na) There's no place like home - we often take for granted, the standards of practice and quality of education and customer service and the advancement in technology both in both education, work and BANKING in our countries untill we travel and live abroad\nb) it is easy to bring your expertise & work ethics abroad and work like and educated slave for a small price\nc) I have come to realise that, Half the time, most of Our stories as a nation are told by someone else, and the world keeps the narrative going.

I have been in Canada for more than 20 years. The cost of living is very high. Housing in Toronto is very expensive, it is better in small towns.\n\nThe most important thing is to come here as a skilled worker. The Canadian immigration website has all the information. \n\nLife overall in Canada is not bad. The government really takes care of the people. Schools are free, and so is health care. The unemployment rate is very low. If you want to work, you will get a job.\n\nMy advice especially for those who are doing fairly well in their countries to stay. I think it is more suitable for young skilled people and those with young children. \n\nWe should also start paying taxes in our countries to develop infrastructure and start holding our governments accountable.\n\nThe young lady in the video is a bid overdramatic. She is earning more than the average worker. She should be managing fine except if she lives in expensive cities like Toronto and Vancouver.

Pricing is not a Canadian specific problem. Look at anywhere people actually want to live in the US, it's essentially the same. LA and NY are just as expensive as Toronto. Only difference is there's less people in Canada that live in rural states like Iowa where everything is cheap because there isn't major city for hundreds of thousands of miles. This is all part of late stage capitalism and our inability to see past the short term. Corporations eventually take over if we don't do anything about it and everything becomes too expensive. People stop having kids so the government needs to increase immigration to support what few social systems we have left. I'm so tired of seeing these anti canada when it's no different than anywhere worth living in the US

Most people have sold their souls to the devil in the name of living abroad esp canada, us, uk, austraila, germany etc. Let me tell you what they do, they go with visitors visa then go and surrender to government seeking asylum. I've been living in Toronto for over thirty (30) years with a little two years try in Halifax, which didn't work due to the lack of meaningful jobs.\nWhen I arrived here in the late 80th I was very impressed with all the services provided and the speed to see medical professionals.\nI'd spent almost 10 years without a family doctor since my first one retired, and now I'm fortunate enough to have one who is so busy that I have to wait months for an appointment.\n\nIt is painful to notice that already paid services are disappearing and how dirty and dangerous this, once an amazing city, is today.\n\nI'm retired now just waiting for my wife to do the same to move out of this country, with the hope that our very low combined pensions will be enough to live somewhere else.\nMoving out of the city, even out of the province, it is not an alternative since anywhere out of here, includes having a car with all the expenses that this include.\n\nSad reality for retirees and specially for young couples with children in tow.\nSoon we will see this beautiful country devoid of human qualified presence to support all the neglected refugees that are coming.\n\nWho knows, maybe this is a new experiment on how so many homeless people can survive the harsh winter.\nGreetings from Toronto.

I live in Edm but have been to TO many times and was just there 2 wks ago visiting family. It’s a super fun and exciting city that I love. However your points are valid but I think these things are happening in all the bigger Cdn cities right now. Inflation is ridiculous, the cost of living is untenable considering wages aren’t going up at the rate they should for people to reasonably pay their bills, resources and social services are being cut, our govt is a shit show and isn’t managing any of these issues appropriately ?. All of that leads to people being frustrated and disillusioned, homeless, having mental health issues w no access to help bc it’s unaffordable… it’s a mess. You’re def lucky to have the option to flee

The homeless situation is man made created by Liberals. They opened boarder to the every one from across the world specially from African countries who flew their country for crimes.. Now its all over.. They also brought almost 2 million student without any housing and healthcare fix. Now I can see 4 to 5 students live in one room basement apartment each pay $700 a month.\n\nWe are now dropping below other G8 countries in terms of living standards. I remember back in early 90s when Harper was Prime Minister. He use to bring most wealthy business people to come here to open business and employ Canadian. I am a resident of Toronto for the past 11 years now. I moved here from Calgary because back then I had a better opportunity. I was an aspiring pastry chef. I landed in pretty stable and well paid job. I've already noticed the changes in city a few years before the pandemic. The drug addiction and mental health problem were already quite evident as injection sites were popping up around the cities including public parks. Then the pademic happened, it exposes the cracks in our society, some people are becoming selfish and intolerant. I lost my job due to the pandemic, it was very traumatic, I developed severe anxiety/depression. Luckily, i had some savings when it all happened. Fastforward, I've been working in the last 2 years now but I can no longer find the same job and pay I used to have. Most companies are now more ruthless. They let go employees any minute as soon as they felt the business is slow. There's no more job security. The only reason why I am surviving is because I am living in the same apartment since i moved here. However, my new neighbours who just moved in are paying twice as much. I've been attempting to leave the city but that would mean that i would be paying at least twice of my current rent and there aren't much opportunities elesewhere. I honestly felt trapped in my current situation but I am still grateful that I am still better off than many people who are already living on the edge. Sadly, the situation is only getting worst according to many analysts. I think the country is at a breaking point in many aspects.

And all these people are living for free in our country when we have veterans and other Americans that's are homeless and most Americans are barely getting by and alot of children that are starving but illegal immigrants get everything for free make that make sense???

I'm not sue what most of you are talking about Canada being safe ?? Gang shootings and killings everyday , car jackings. There are homeless camps everywhere. All the rest stops along hwy 1 in BC are full of people living in rv's and trailers, drug use everywhere. Our health care is free because its terrible. Every hospital is badly understaffed, patients have their beds in hallways. If you want anything done quickly you have to pay and get it done privately anyways. Oh cant forget our taxes. Gotta love the made up carbon tax. I pay 52% income tax. Food and gas prices are way higher because of all our tax. And last but not least real estate and rent cost. Average detached house in the greater Vancouver area is almost 1.3 million dollars and the average rent for a 2 bedroom in Vancouver is $3900. I was born and raised here this is not the same country I grew up in and was a proud citizen of. Our country has fallen.

Canadian politeness is an outdated myth. Anyone who works in the service sector will attest to this as they must tolerate all kinds of abusive behaviour from the public. Our Prime Minister is out of touch. He has lived a lavish life ever since his father was PM. The Federal government is there to help corporations, not its citizens. The Provincial government are there to serve land developers and businesses, not its workers or citizens. The amount of working people who can't afford rent or food is exploding. Forget living a good life. Life in Canada now is all about survival!

People in Canada are losing a ton of faith in our immigration system now with how brutal the housing situation is, how strained social services are. They are allowing way too many people in with any plan and it is having severely negative consequences right now. As a result many more immigrants want to leave or refuse to get citizenship because the insane cost of living combined with the stagnant wages is making it very undesirable.

Beware of the single narrative. He’s speaking from his own experience, but it’s not the same as everybody’s. I’ve lived in Canada now for 4 years…got my citizenship this year. I lived in Nigeria for the 10 years prior to moving to Canada, and I also schooled and lived in the UK before that, so I speak with a wealth of diverse experiences. \n\nBefore you move to Canada or anywhere else for that matter, do the following:\n\n1. Research the country you’re moving to…what jobs are in demand, how that aligns with your qualifications…if you need to recertify or retrain in a different field. Many people move here thinking “oh I was a bank manager in Nigeria, so I’ll move here and become a bank manager”. It doesn’t work that way. The streets of Canada are littered with qualified medical doctors who drive Uber because they didn’t understand how difficult it would be to be certified to practice here.\n\n2. Find role models who are living the life you aspire to, or who have made similar moves and seek advice or guidance, and learn what they did right/wrong. Don’t just assume because your friend moved here, you can also move here and live the same life. You don’t share the same life experiences, history or have the same network.\n\n3. Before you immigrate physically, you have to immigrate mentally…be in the right mindset to live in a new country, understand their culture and learn to adapt. If you’re expecting to leave Nigeria and move to Canada to live a Nigerian lifestyle with “owambe” parties every weekend, or having 4 cars and 3 housemaids, then you’re still living in Nigeria mentally. Even Justin Trudeau does not drive 4 cars.\n\nI work in tech, so I knew that with God’s grace I’d find a way to succeed here. My wife worked in a Nigerian bank, and was able to transition to tech after we arrived here. Our combined annual income is roughly $500k, and we both work less than 40 hours a week, and I believe God will continue to bless us. I have easily 20 or 30 friends and colleagues who moved within a year or two of each other, and everyone is doing fine and working in tech jobs paying 6-figures. \n\nDon’t be discouraged by people’s failures and hardships. With the right planning and mindset, you can achieve your goals in any country. Reach out to people on LinkedIn, build a network and ask for advice (constructively)…many like us are more than willing to help.

Life in Nigeria is only decent for those living affluently in Lekki, Victoria Island, Ikoyi, certain areas of Ikeja and Abuja. Outside of that, life for everyday Nigerians is crap. Water & electricity (NEPA) are highly unreliable & intermittent, so fuel-powered generators are a necessity for living everyday life per household or per apartment in apartment complexes. The banking & government systems are notoriously sluggish, taking weeks and months to process simple paperwork such as drivers licenses, passports, certificates, banking transaction reversals, you name it. Bribery is a daily occurrence EVERYWHERE. Police (if you can call them that, mostly untrained thugs) detain & extort motorists and/or people innocently going about their daily lives, just for the money. Many many many people disappear mysteriously without ever being seen again by family or friends. Lots of inter-racial discrimination and animosity between the three major tribes that make up Nigeria… Yoruba, Igbo & Hausa-Fulani. The federal & state governments are horribly corrupt, bordering on dictatorship. Elections are undemocratic, to say the least, with thugs threatening voters at voting booths. I could go on?\n\nThis is why many Nigerians with any amount of wealth live in diaspora, whether that be the UK, Canada, the USA, Europe, or wherever. And, yeah, be prepared for everything being structured & organized in these countries, especially in North America. The cost of living is definitely higher to pay for a higher quality of living. That’s the difference between a developed country vs a country, such as Nigeria, that’s developing or considered ‘third-world’. Unfortunately, here in Canada we cannot account for the last 8 years under our current administration, which has gone rogue & is out of control, causing high inflation, interest rates and housing and cost of living to soar. This is not normal conditions even to those of us natural-born here. So, we feel for immigrants who have arrived in good faith in the last few years. I’m sure their country of origin is looking better than what is being experienced here in Canada currently.

Many immigrants find the first few years difficult because of the job ethics. The job ethics here in Canada is quite different from Nigerian with a laidback background. In Canada you work for every cent and it has really worked for them and some of us. I have employed so many Africans especially Nigerians who thought I am mean because they have to work for every penny. You are not paid to come and have a chitchat at work or spend 5 hours on something that could take you 3 hours to do. I will say if you can't change your work ethics and try to integrate into the Canadian system please stay back in your country. I have also seen people who have been clouded with that high life they lived back home and find it difficult to Start at the bottom. Even if you are living a good life in Nigeria, Canada is a better place to live if you can unlearn some things and relearn other things.\nAnd is there systemic racism? The answer is YES. If our leaders treat us right, 80 percent of our people won't leave their country. Let's hold our government responsible not the north American government or their people.

In the US there’s a housing crisis, landlords bankrupting hard working people, grocery stores raising prices, gas prices sky rocketing, all for what? MONEY, corporate greed, no regulations on basic necessities that everyone needs to live. All those people recently stealing in LA, it’s just begun… In school I was taught about the Great Depression.. THIS, right now is the United States greatest economic crisis. We are living in it right now… I hope everyone can find safety and security. I’m a Canadian myself, and it’s very interesting to see your reaction to Canadian’s response to that question. I think what you said about being desensitizing is true, I think because the gun violence, the crazy politics, and the attacks on women’s and minority rights, these are things that have become so common in the US that American started to see these things as “normal”. And to a lot of Canadians, these are our core values. A lot of us are proud that we don’t have that (serious of) these issues here, so I am not surprised in any sense that majority if not all of those people in that subreddit said no.\n\nI used to travel to the US for a living, and I actually asked to change my job so I don’t have to do that anymore. I didn’t feel safe, I didn’t feel good when I travel there. You mentioned it’s depending on the cities, and you might be right, but I can tell you I have met A LOT of very crazy people during my years of travels, and they are all friend very different places: the east, the south, the west, big and small cities.

We need the American immigration system in Canada. We need to set a quota on how many people from a given country can receive a green card. All you see now in the GTA and Vancouver are Indians. At the 7:50 mark, Sanjay's employer has to prove he won't negatively impact the wages of US workers, In Canada, due to high immigration, our wages have been stagnant while cost-of-living increases. This is a product of stupid immigration policy set by the current government which wants to bring in 1M immigrants per year.

I have mixed feelings about this video. This video does a good job outlining the immigration process but it does not highlight any of the negative consequences of immigration that Canada is experiencing. One of the main reasons why cost of living is so high in Toronto and Vancouver is precisely because we have so many immigrants coming in without enough housing supply. This is by design because politicians and the upper class have a vested interest in keeping real estate prices high because so much of their net worth is tied up in the housing market.\n\nAnother negative is that employers hire immigrants working low skilled jobs and pay them less than Canadians because the immigrants are willing to be taken advantage of since they're just happy to have a job in Canada which pays better than their country. \n\nAnother myth that gets repeated is that Canadian takes immigrants out of compassion and unfortunately a lot of Canadians believe this. It was never about compassion, it's about bringing more people to 1) pay taxes to support our social welfare as Canadian birth rates decline and boomers retire, 2) keep housing costs high and 3) pay immigrants lower wages for the same work because immigrants are fine being exploited since they have a job in a first world country.\n\nAnother problem is the cultural shift. In the most immigrant-dense regions you'll find that many immigrants themselves surprisingly don't want more immigrants coming to Canada because they see these negative consequences. The people who are most pro-immigration have no problem cramming 8+ people in a basement and exploiting their labour because they make enough money to live in communities that immigrants can't afford, and so they don't have to deal with the cultural shift that's taking place. This is NOT the fault of immigrants, but rather the politicians who put economic growth over quality of life. Over HALF the people in the GTA weren't born in Canada, so they didn't go through our school system and have no connection to our culture. Canada is unfortunately going to become very racist over the next 10-20 years as Canadians start feeling like outsiders in their own country. It's somehow considered racists to criticize the effect of multiculturalism on social unity, yet the cultures we accept in Canada only became distinct cultures because of monoculturalism.

We need to overhaul our system because why are people flooding here America is cool but it’s very much lipstick on a pig. Our infrastructure is crumbling housing is terrible jobs are not paying in accordance to the cost of living. We are an empire on a decline stay where you are and fight because we are going to have to do the same once every is on the table about how our government really makes money.

OH HECK! No way, I would not move to the USA. I would move to many European Countries way before moving to the USA. First of all, our health care is a fact we do not need to worry. Second we do not have all your freaking problems with people that think Trump is a GOD given to them. We do not have religions anywhere near politics here. I agree depending where you are living the climat does influence us, but that is because 95% of our population live about 1 hour away to the USA. Yet I do not remember the last time I was visiting friends in the USA. But visiting friends in European Countries a few months ago, and going back again to visit them, yup going to France, UK, Germany, Austria and Russia. We do not get while eating in a restaurant: Oh! gosh again those americain that think everyone speak English and hamburger with fries is the top of the chain food.

As a American there is a lot of things to say, I want to in the future duel with the uk/eu or Canada. I’m surprised they haven’t talked about the high excelation of racism, and as a Asian person it hasn’t been fun. Until we at the lowest minimum (not my actual minimum) fix our healthcare system is close to nhs that is basically free healthcare payed by your taxes, then I don’t see much people wanting to go to the states; aside from maybe university. There is a lot that plays a role, but in my eyes living in Cali or Portland or Seattle or nyc are the better places. One thing that I’ll say is though we need higher wages, I think that is kinda something we get more at times than other countries to a extent.

With your gun culture, politics and health care system in no way would I ever move to the US. We spent most of our free time playing different RPGs over the years together. Around 9 years ago she came down with some kind of a illness and thank goodness she had healthcare through her job. The thing is though the system couldn't/wouldn't identify what was causing her decline in health. She went through all kinds of tests but became sicker and sicker in years to come. She died in October of 2021 but before she died we both wondered if the health care system was just milking her insurance and not really taking proper care of her. BTW she lived in SLC Utah. Going back to your gun culture though she felt safe living in SLC the mall she went too had a mass shooting and she also carried a pistol in her purse. ( she had a permit ) I have never known any woman in Canada who felt that she needed to carry a gun in her purse for safety.
