Why can’t we have a real leader like this! Instead we have a belligerent egomaniac Russian asset as president. He shouldn’t have even had 10% of the vote. Y’al knew better but didn’t vote better because of many superficial reasons, among them, sexism and racism. Now all of us Americans are losing. I’d love to see the day when we as Americans can come together as ONE & stand up against people like Trump that are harming all Americans. United we stand. Divided, ALL of us fall. Some of y’al thought it wouldn’t impact you even if his policies impacted others (and not you) so you didn’t care and voted for public enemy #1 despite all the warnings given. Now here we are. I really truly hope that America has a whole will look at ourselves in the mirror at what we’ve allowed to be, and change our ways by coming together as one country that wants to see Americans do well and be good and be able to take care of their families, regardless of race or sex, or gender, immigration status or any of the superficial barriers.

As an American, I am totally appalled that Donald Trump is our elected president putting himself & his selfish agenda ahead of the American people. Allowing people like Elon Musk, who is not a government employee to run amok in this country doing what he pleases when he pleases under the guise of ridding our country of wasteful spending, without any type of oversight. I am appalled at the GOP that refuses to stand up to Trump for the people they swore an oath to serve faithfully because they are so afraid of what Trump will do to them if they don't bow down and do his bidding. Shame on every doggone one of you for putting yourselves first before our great country. I am appalled of all of the people who voted for Trump, you are all going to find out. This isn't some tv reality show, and we all deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Choosing to turn your back on our friends and ally's isn't going to go well and the American people are going to suffer because of it.

Remind me again why Trudeau was forced to resign? Even NY Times investigative journalists recently explained how NAFTA worked against US interests and killed so much of our industry decades ago; almost the opposite of what was intended. Trade needs to be reformed across the board. It's also insulting the way other world leaders are now speaking directly to the American Public and lying to them as if they have our best interest in mind. World leaders are elected to defend the interests of their own people, many times they just look out for their own personal interest, but they are definitely not looking out for American interest. Boo boo, don’t care. It’s time that the countries we support show some love back. In our time of need we are getting ghosted but everyone expects America to just to attention when there is a conflict or someone needs money. No one cares about our financial needs or our battle with the cartels and illegal immigration. Then screw them. If they want to leave us high and dry because they like the old way of doing things, aka syphoning off Americas wealth, then they can get ghosted right back. Americans obviously didn’t understand what tariffs are, didn’t get that it’s an import tax which they must pay on goods and products they buy from Canada, a tax which tRump collects from Americans and uses to pay for tax-cuts for the richest citizens. But one more thing Americans don’t get is that before this fateful day an unofficial boycott against ALL US goods has been growing since tRump insulted Canada’s Prime Minister and threatened Canada’s sovereignty—whereas Canada’s official countervails ( which only kicked-in today )only target certain US goods, not ALL of them like ordinary Canadians are doing in growing numbers right now—in fact, the imposition of tRump’s tariffs today has only made the unofficial boycott bigger and more organized. It’s heartening that so many nations have solicited Canada, offering alternative sources for common US exports to Canada —citrus fruits, pharmaceuticals, and other manufactures, to name a few.\n\nI don’t think Canadians even realize how big this unofficial boycott is getting because it’s growing so fast. I’ve never seen a surge in Canadian patriotism like this. Never in my seven decades —which includes the two Referenda on Quebec separation. And there’s a federal election approaching when all partisans will be one-upping each other in the patriotism department—which manifests in more boycotts of US goods and hospitality services.\n\n Americans should know that the unofficial boycott is more harmful to US exporters than the official targeted countervails because it features immediate and longterm diminishment of Canadian purchases of US goods—all retailers know it’s very hard to recover lost customers once they’ve found alternatives (and the added patriotic effect only makes it worse). Included is diminishment of Canadian visits to the USA. I know from much-welcomed temp Mexican construction workers in BC (where I live) that they view Canadians completely differently from our mutual US neighbours—and now that affection is growing like never before. \n\nI’m continually amazed at how uninformed Americans are about tariffs—and misinformed by tRump and his goofy, preposterous, and ridiculous fantasy of world-domination. I'm usually reasonable enough to realize that while I may disagree with many policy decisions, there's usually a relatively coherent line of thought to back said actions up. The problem here is that there’s no clear logic behind using tariffs as a tool to curb fentanyl trafficking or immigration. I'm not going to speak on the issue of immigration at the Canadian border because there simply is none. Yes, there are illegals from Canada, but almost 100% of them are from overstaying visas rather than crossing the border unlawfully. So let's talk about fentanyl. \n\nMost fentanyl in the US originates from China, often in precursor form, and is then processed in Mexico before being smuggled into the states. But it's typically trafficked in small, high potency quantities, often hidden in legitimate shipments or through mail, and only on very rare occasions is it being brought in by individuals crossing the border. It has _never_ been documented to have shipped in as part of large scale commercial imports, so a 25% tariff on legal trade with Canada and Mexico doesn’t directly target the black market supply chain at all.\n\nIf we take Trump’s reasoning at face value, the argument seems to be that he wants to exert economic pressure on Mexico and Canada as a means of having them crack down harder on drug trafficking networks. But the issue is that fentanyl simply isn’t coming in through mass import channels, so all this looks like is a punitive measure without a clear mechanism to actually achieve its stated goal. And the implications? Drastically higher costs for consumers in the US, Canada, and Mexico, with absolutely nothing to show for it.

I have had many Canadian friend including my first serious girlfriend. I worked with exchange Candian military folks and saw them as full partners. On D-Day Candian troops had their own beach which the successfully captured. They were by our side in Korea and all of our other wars. Why do people still watch CNN after being lied to over and over? Didn't they tell you Hilary was winning in 2016 and then lied to you guys again about Harris leading in the polls in 2024 lol. Mexico and Canada's exports are 70-80% to the USA while we only export 13-14% to them. This means most of their economy relies on the USA and only a small of ours rely on theirs.
