OK so from now on prevent muslim migrants to enter Europe! They have the right to live in their own country too ?

Ok, but where are they leaving to...? Are they moving to developing countries with their jobs or are they going to the States?

Ok US it’s time to stop sending help and resources to other countries if this is really happening and if it’s really important. Take care of home first.

Canada is scamming country, I was working in my country and all ok then coz of this propaganda that I can get work with visit visa I resign and came here and since 3 months I can’t find anything but ppl asking for 40K for LMIA for cashier and very entry level job… this is Canada

1) Toronto is poor value. Getting housing of any kind (buying or renting) is stupidly expensive. And the quality you get for the price is lousy. Especially the newer builds, which are just thrown up as quickly as possible and sold to investors. Policy measures generally all seem to serve to just inflate the price of housing further. The occasional lip service given to affordability is amusing, but ultimately sad. There are lots of people who really do not want the housing bubble to pop. They will fight against it with all they have.\n\n2) It has become kind of boring. There is lots to do if you have money, but it’s harder to find entertainment on a budget. Even the free stuff like parks are filling up. Stuff like sporting events, eating out, going out is very costly across the board. Even the “cheaper” stuff is expensive. It seems like a lot of local culture is disappearing. Even the cool neighbourhoods are filling up with the same chains. I think the high commercial rent and bureaucracy is deflating a lot of would-be entrepreneurs. Most landowners seem to just be banking on cashing out their land for condos.\n\n3) Canada overall has a high cost of living compared to salaries. In the US you can find lower cost of living areas that still give you a real city experience. And in Europe you can be poor but still live a decent, if no frills, life. In Canada the basic necessities are all expensive. Phone bills, grocery bills, rent, insurance are through the roof. Domestic travel is expensive. And the dollar sucks if you want to travel abroad. Health care is free but good luck finding a family doctor or waiting 8 hours in the ER these days. It’s expensive to be poor, or even middle class.\n\n4) Most of the Greater Toronto Area, outside the core, is soulless suburbs with awful transit - very “American” except with worse traffic congestion. You will need a car, which is another huge cost. Row upon row of old cookie cutter suburbs with the same crappy houses. Good luck walking anywhere, and if you do you will need to walk down boring, treeless arterial roads with cars zooming past right beside you, and cross giant eight lane intersections that were never built for humans on foot. In a rainstorm or on a fall evening you have to be really careful not to be run over by aggressive drivers.\n\n5) It is hard to raise a family in an apartment here. You can do it but it’s not very easy, and also you are still kind of judged for it. Lots of young people are feeling stuck and are deferring or avoiding starting a family. Buying any type of house, even a basic townhouse, requires pledging your soul to a bank by taking a massive mortgage with eye watering debt in a volatile market. But few apartment buildings have the kind of sensible gentle density, the family unit sizes and the common amenities, like little courtyards with jungle gyms, that you might find in Europe. No one ever contemplated that anyone would ever desire to raise kids in an apartment. It’s just a cultural thing that has worked its way into how things are planned and designed.\n\n6) The transit system is ok by North American standards but awful by international standards. There are only two real subway lines, one stub line, one line that is permanently out of service after a derailment, and another line that was supposed to open a couple years ago but still has no date for opening. The subways go out of service frequently, sometimes for the dumbest reasons, and then it is a zoo of shuttle buses. The streetcars are nice but so slow. The buses are fine if you find yourself dreaming about riding a daily herky jerky rolling tin of sardines. They are building a lot of transit but it will take decades to get done.\n\n7) There is still a lot of cool multiculturalism and opportunities to experience different foods and cultures - one of the best things about Toronto. Increasingly though it seems to be losing the fun vibe of the 90s, when everyone celebrated each other’s backgrounds and was chill. It seems the immigration is not as broad based anymore and also people are importing a lot of their “old country” grievances here. The immigration system also kind of preys on people abroad by selling them a false fairy tale, so they end up dejected when they arrive and see how things really are.\n\n8) This one might be controversial but it’s kind of an ugly city. There’s nothing particularly of historical meaning or value. Some of the older neighbourhoods are kind of nice, but the last 25 years they have only built giant glass skyboxes, one after another. There aren’t the cool “missing middle” walkups like in NY, Chicago or Montreal (or even LA). There are very few buildings with much architectural character. Some of the buildings they deem “heritage” here are an embarrassment.\n\n9) For safety, honestly on this score I think Toronto is not bad. There are not too many real “ghettos” and it’s night and day compared to much of the US. With that said, there is more vagrancy and social issues these days, with tents and such. It’s very sad but the shelters are full, lots of homeless go into the libraries, parks and transit system. It does make it harder to enjoy these public amenities safely. It is nowhere close to Europe where you might let your kids run free around town. Canadian parents still helicopter their kids and the place again is not designed to really be safe for kids, in the same way as Europe.\n\n10) Finally, a bit of a double edged sword. Toronto had a lot of youthful energy - people coming here from all over. It is definitely not as sleepy as many parts of the world. With that said, it is becoming a bit of a transient place (minus the world class experiences like London or NY). If you are from elsewhere you might find it hard making and keeping friends. I’ve seen lots of people struggle because it’s is hard to build a strong social network. We have a very “shallow” culture here - people are extremely polite but not overly warm and hospitable. We treat one another kind of like neighbours - meaning we’d like to have a cordial, drama-free coexistence and otherwise kind of stick to ourselves.

This is good and honest review. You did not succeed because you did not go with that mindset. In my case, I was working in India as a Class I gazetted officer with Govt of India. When I got PR, I resigned from the job, just because I knew there is struggle in Canada. If I have an option, I would have definitely gone back. My Dad and my father-in-law, both Govt officers at that time, were upset with me for resigning. They were OK with me going to Canada, but did not like the idea of leaving such a good job. I did struggle initially and did survival jobs, like working in factories etc, but I DO NOT regret my decision at all. But again, it is individual's choice what is their goal. Mine was to give my kids world's perspective. Now they are free to go anywhere in the world, including India. My elder one 26 and younger one 22, have visited so many countries without taking a single penny from me. Their world view is very balanced ... they are very empathetic - thanks to Canadian education system - including school level.

It is ok if u are arguing with ur colleagues or if u r out side country in english but some people in india arguing in public place in English they thinks it will put more impact on people infront of him?

I prefer the states. \nI've lived in a couple as I've said before and honestly.. it is better down there. \nI live in literally the most expensive city and Provence In Canada. \nI'm born and raised here and sure Americans have there problems but overall it was better everywhere I've lived in the states.\nHere it's just hidden by a smile.. \nWe've been known as a better country and lots of us can't admit it's as bad as it is here. And how much we can't say anything to change it. \nIt seems that you have more logical rights there and people seem to understand that trying to be loud and free to do whatever means something more. \nRight to live means more then follow orders like here. \nWe're falling apart as a country and I'm sick to my stomach knowing that Canada is not what I grew up believing. \nI grew up and seen the world the way it is and we don't live in a dream world like we want you to believe we do. \nThe states are at least able to voice opinions and there are places you can live OK.

Yaaar…kitni himmat karte hai log…living ur own country with growing up kids and without a partner and thinking of setting down in a new country which is completely different than our own country ?I can’t imagine. And why? What for? Why so much desperation?? India is not perfect but is not bad either. People r living good life despite problems. If your very young, unmarried or without kids , then ok ..u have right age and stamina to struggle and responsibilities are less but after a certain age and having kids…it’s very difficult.

Foreign countries are good if you have the right paperwork to work and support yourself. If you don’t have, trust me you will suffer and end up in shelters or streets. One thing with these countries is time is money which means the more hours you spend working the more you make although there is higher taxing you still ok. So that means you can’t make it if you are a lazy person.

What were his goals before moving to Canada ?\n\nPeople need to realize a country like Canada will not give you wealth but will provide you a space for growth. You will struggle If you don’t have the following \n1. Employable skills \n2. Personal integrity \n3. Ability to build a healthy social network \n4. Patience. It will take about 5yrs to adjust to the Canadian culture \n\nTo emphasize again, if your primary main goal is to create wealth quickly then forget Canada. The grass is greener on the other side. In Canada it is white for 6 months. Winters are horrible and it's a very expensive country. Cost of living is high. I'm a Canadian -Indian. If you can tolerate the winter and have a good paying job then perhaps it's OK

His advice also works the other way as well: moving from 1st world to developing country as a middle aged professional. If you're established in Canada or USA and move to Nigeria (a lot of tried it), you will start from many levels down regardless of your CV and the salary in Nigeria is not enough to sustain your family relative to their comfort level in USA/Canada. The irony is the same reason why he moved & is enduring the situation in Canada is a same reason why USA & Canada based transplants endured harsher conditions on ground in Nigeria: they feel it's in the best interest of their children and therefore worthwhile in the interim. Once the goal is met, they return back to their 'home base'. Hence, his situation is not the classic Japa - where the vast majority folks need to move by any means necessary to survive due to hardship in naija. His advice works for those who are doing relatively ok in naija [net positive monthly cashflow upper middle class individuals]. The average Nigerian who is suffering will manage anyhow situation in Canada compared to the daily hardship on ground in Naija.

I support the current US immigration system but that’s because I’m against immigration and letting half the world in. Canada can have them and all the awful consequences that have occurred in their country since. Not talking about the individual people btw, more cost of living is much higher and wages are lower and much more stagnant and how Canada went from a really decent place to worse than the US in basically everything.\n\nImmigrants are ok…in limit. This hard to understand for people from the usa, but the usa is not interesting at all. Most Americans don't understand what seems ok to them is plain crazy for people from modern country. 40 years ago Québec (my part of Canada ) was more modern than usa right now on almost any social topic, from human rights, religious stuff in public instand of being private, better economy law, , egality, ect. The way nothing is rational, the way all the politic is done on blind ideology is just plain scary. Sad, but usa is NOT a modern country on a lot (almost all) topics.

I'd just say as a Canadian we have all of the best the US has to offer with very little of the negatives it has. So why would we go to somewhere where it only becomes worse.\n\nMost people in the USA are not ok when it comes to healthcare. The minor stuff sure, but if you have anything serious happen most likely your healthcare will only cover half or a quarter of the costs. The USA also has some of the worst healthcare care out of almost all western countries.\n\nTo put into perspective of kids and gun violence. From 2019-2023 on average 9 kids get shot dead in the USA per day, so 3 285 per year. If we look at 2019 specifically we have 73million people under the age of 18 exist. If we use the average of 9 shot a day and put that to 18 years of life we come up to 59,130 shot over the 18 years; however out of 73 million it means you only have a 0.081% chance of dying from being shot. Doesn't sound too high, but it means you're more likely to get shot dead than almost all other forms of death, more likely to be shot as a child than someone to win the lottery.

I am from Brazil, moved to Canada 9 years ago, now I am Canadian citizen. I was once asked by a American colleague why did I not immigrated to the USA, the answer is: it was not even in the list of possible countries. In fact it is on my top list of places not to move to. \n\nYou have a good insurance through your job? That only means you have one more reason to fear losing it or stay on a particularly bad one if you don’t have anything lined up, if you have a chronic health condition, then you are straight out hostage to your employer. Even if you do have good insurance your bills may one day go beyond the maximum and you still risk bankruptcy. \n\nIf you do go bankrupt, in any civilized country you can’t go to jail for debt, in the USA you can, the country with the highest incarcerated population in the world in absolute numbers and relative too. To add salt to the injury it is a country that did not completely make slave work illegal, it is still legal if you are not a free citizen and your prison system exploit that.\n\nSo it is a country that you can become slave because you got sick.\n\nThen there are the guns… the fact you think you are exempt of school shootings says it all, if you live in a small city it would not affect you? Are you really saying mass shootings never occur in small cities?! I realize you live in the USA. I cannot accept your use of “American”! There are 3 countries in North America alone. Canada, the USA and Mexico. These three countries only represent a small portion of the American Continent. Please loose your self identification of calling yourself an American. Ok you live on the continent. The USA is ok to visit but I’m even avoiding that for the last number of years. I guess I’m just not ready to see firearms on people in a line up at a store; knowing that many others are (legally) carrying concealed weapons. There are many other countries that reflect my values on individuals (women, LGBTQ etc), that would be a second choice after Canada. And of course, the healthcare (or lack thereof). I can’t imagine being in a country that doesn’t support the health of all of their citizens and not just those who contribute to the financial health of big business.

You enumerate conditions to be ok in the USA, for ex live in the city, live in a secure part of the city or of the country… have a job and you’re ok for healthcare which in the end is still expensive and does not even cover. everything. Here tHe comfort comes from not only I’m 100% protected but ALL Canadians are. What we have in our social net, so does everybody else.

I'm Canadian, we are best friends! As a Canadian we find it offensive that Americans can't find Canada on a map.... we certainly appreciate being protected by the USA military! It doesn't work that way for patients who are not in contact with reality.\n\nNow we add extreme drugs (crack, meth, heroine, ketamine, whatever they hand out at parties, etc) and severe cases of PTSD/PTSS. It's obscene that we have veterans on the streets.\n\nHeath care--?. Pre Obamacare it wasn’t terrible but medicine had become a CYA project. We are so litigious (side eye to John Edwards ) that doctors practice defensive medicine and carry high limit malpractice insurance (guess who pays for that?). Every decision is driven by avoiding lawsuits, not proper patient care.\n\nPost Obamacare, US health care is an unmitigated disaster at every level. We’re short on doctors, too. Many quit and students are losing interest—medicine won’t pay enough anymore to justify $500K in loans.\n\nWe could repeal every bit of Obamacare tomorrow and still not be able to fix it. The leviathan grew tentacles that released toxins into every nook and cranny of the system. Now that they have buried themselves in critical layers, it would be impossible to yank them out.\n\nI have a good PCP who is booked 6-8 weeks out. Specialists? Hah. GI, neuro, and derm? Nor can we claim to have eliminated racism. That takes time; it cannot be done by force.\n\nOur economy went from smokin hot to dumpster fire in a short span of time. Pre election, head hunters were shaking the trees to find job candidates.\n\nOur unemployment is up as are our taxes with the stomping out of the tax cuts. \n\nDespite the endless sloganeering about how the Trump tax cuts only benefited “rich” people, it’s quite the opposite.\n\nHigh earners lost their pet deductions and lower income taxpayers were quite pleasantly surprised when they did their returns. The cuts were targeted to preserve wealth for the middle and lower classes.\n\nI could go on for another 100 pages but you get the idea and I get crabby writing for free.\n\nI will leave you with the caution that it’s best if you doubt and question any data and any stats coming from our government. Those are seldom legit. If the data comes from a study, always look to see who paid for it. And how large the sample size was; how were the participants selected? It’s horrific how these ppl are forced to live, that is NOT life..reading the comments, it’s disheartening to see. Put yourselves in their shoes! Ask yourself many questions. Would you live your life under a corrupt government? Would you allow the Mexican police/gangs/drug lords, to walk in your home, kill your children, your family, got no reason and get away with it? While you don’t apply or accept a hard work job somebody else is more than willing. It’s not their fault their good at work. Plus most our homeless choose to be that way due to drugs or mental illness. Who knows what else. So does Venezuelans sound like Mexicans, nope, or get your ears checked.

American here who spent three glorious years in Canada (Montréal) for university. I fell in love with the country and have visited all ten provinces and one territory. I desperately wanted to stay in Canada and was so emotional that I literally cried when my student visa expired and I had to return to the States. Fast forward 40 years, I've had a pretty good life here in the States and was able to retire comfortably at 55. I hesitated to watch this video because I thought it would make me feel bad about my situation, but I think it (and the comments) actually made me feel OK with how my life turned out. I now realize that no place is perfect -- not even Canada.
