The title is offensive (and not in a PC way).. if its multicultural, i get it.. but the title itself makes it seem like if you're from an Indian background, you're not Canadian? Lots of scared people these days... I guarantee you ask anyone of these people making a comment.. go 3 questions deep and you'll find a scared insecure person, who is frightened about their place in society, and just uninformed about anything they're not used to

Seems to be a lot of mildly rascist comments under this video. Depressing, I expected better from my fellow canadians. Its not the colour of someones skin, their religion, or their culture that makes someone a good person and worth knowing. Its how they treat others. Canada has always been a country that's thrived because of diversity. In my experience most immigrant Canadians have great work ethics and treat others with respect and kindness. I'm happy to call them my countrymen.

So many sly comments against Indians but when you went to the most dangerous part of Brampton, it was all ethnic white Canadians, who are drug addicts and homeless. So Indians aren't the problem here. Canada brought in too many immigrants and the local ethnic population could not compete with newcomer Indians who can often endure a lot of hardships and find innovative ways to earn money and live decently. Yes there may be 15 in a house in some places but at least they're not doing drugs or roaming homeless. Not immigrants' fault that the govt miscalculated and locals couldn't compete with the newcomers.

It's always difficult to see changes around you and your home being in your words being raided by foreign entities. Guess what? The world is filled with different ethnic groups. Hundreds of years ago all your native homes were part of the indigenous people here and they didn't even have time to complain or lament online when the Europeans butchered them and massacred their homelands, claiming the land and setting up as their own. Now you are in a position to call something your home and we all know what all your ancestors did regardless of how good you are right now. The least you can do is not comment such provocatively online against other ethnicities or is this atrocity still there in your blood. It's very simple. Try to think beyond frustration and be grateful for what you have. \n\nBy the way I can write more but I don' think it's worth my time but maybe positive things can happen if you put your mind into.

The world is gradually becoming more of a melting pot of different races of people. And needless to state, Canada is a country of many nations and it would be very unbecoming of any minority immigrant to be here and be racist towards and complain about the other ethnicities/minorities here. Hence what triggered my comment in the first place. Immigrants wanna boldly come here and change things to suit them. This is Canada! And that’s not how things work here. Why come to my home and then complain about the occupants? Just go back where you came from. Period!

As someone that lives an hour outside of Toronto it honestly disgusts me and angers me to see how many immigrants and “new Canadians” are living a better and more prosperous life then the actual people who work their asses off and contribute to society. I’m very disappointed by this video. I recently watched another one by True North about the poor state of the Canadian military and agreed with it 99%.\n\nBut this just seems like pandering to petty divisions and bigotry.\n\nI’m no SJW and agree there are legitimate reasons to question immigration and related policies. I don’t just expect we hold hands and all get along suddenly.\n\nBut honestly this wasn’t a fact based, objective analysis of the issues. It was pointing out statistics of demographic imbalances (with blatant graphics) and suggesting that on its own was bad. \n\nIt was asking non-East Indian people and East Indian people what they thought about these issues. The questions were loaded and leading and the answers were cherry picked, especially regarding the East Indian peoples’ responses.\n\nAs an attempt to get likes, attention and comments this, like countless divisive crap from both extremes, was a success. But from an objective, rational stand point this just comes across as being bigoted and ignorant.\n\nLike look at most of the comments. I’m a little late to this video but have a lot to say. As a Canadian of Indian descent, I have always avoided Brampton. There is a stark difference between Indians from Brampton and those of us that are from other cities. This situation is out of control mainly due to JT but also colleges that have setup feeder international schools that cater just to Indian students. I’d imagine Chinese students have something similar to this as well, they’re just more quiet. \n\nA lot of the comments come off as offensive but it is what it is, There are too many of my ethnic people here and they’re not assimilating let alone intending to do so. Chain migration is another problem as it brings in an older generation that has no desire to learn English. Crime is having a runaway effect because of the environment they come from, fights break out at intersections, parking lots, backyards, front yards, etc. This is reckless and embarrassing for all Indians, especially us Punjabis. This goes unreported because of how vindictive these people are because of whichever town/city they came from. There are also rumours that these female students are home wreckers so there’s another layer. \n\nMy solution: \n1) Stop immigration, these people are giving our entire community a bad rep when we’ve worked so hard to get to where we are in this country. Return to skills based immigration, not WEF-based. \n2) Cap the international student populations tied to the census - this opens up opportunities for international students from ALL countries and walks of life. \n3) International students cannot be allowed to work - Canadian students First, Canada First. \n4) After graduation, give students 1 year to find a job in their field of study. If they can’t find one, send them back and learn skills and then that’s their only back to Canada. \n5) if they do make it to immigration, we need a better system than just a simple memorization test - have them demonstrate their command of the English language, look at their value added and potential for the future. \n6) Conservatives need to be a part of the solution. A lot of the comments are just complaints and complaining will get these folks voting red vs voting blue each and every time. That guy commenting about no temples in Timmins will just push these people to the liberals and this is what JT is counting on. We need to show these folks what being Canadian is about so that they leave Brampton and assimilate. I’ve introduced countless folks to Pierre and have changed their outlooks, y’all need to do the same. I agree with the video and most of the comments. Trudeau's government destroyed the balance between ethnic backgrounds in Canada. They even brought the worst quality of immigrants and compromised on the reputation of Canadian education. Ironically, the conservative provincial government is debating the cap on international students. Everyone is looking for his own benefits and no one care about Canada.

Unlike most of the comments here, I absolutely love being a Canadian. I have a rare health condition and the government covers 100% of my medicine costs which is thousands of dollars a month. It’s also safe here and there’s so much opportunity. I immigrated when I was 4 years old from Pakistan and even when I go back to visit, Canada is like heaven on earth compared to Pakistan. The medicine I need to live a healthy is isn’t even made or offered in Pakistan. I’ll forever be a proud Canadian. Thank you Canada ❤

This isn't something exclusive to Brampton anymore. Here in Niagara Region, and from comments I have been reading below it is happening all over Southern Ontario and across major cities across our great nation. So before some lib-tard starts at me.... Canada was built on immigration as a mosaic, not a melting pot; however if that mosaic isn't woven with diverse threads then..... the idealistic principle of that mosaic goes out the window, and we are left with Canadians being left behind. I am a old white man born and raised in Canada...our youth born in Canada don't give a crap about us old folks...then these young men and women that come to Canada for a education and residence show up from India...and bang in an instant I am noticed...do you know why because these young adults were raised to respect their elders...they are hard workers (some holding down three part time jobs) they pau their rent...they are polite and smart...with all this said they are also humans who have a limit. If they stay in Canada and contribute to our society here or go back to their own country using what they learned here to better off their communities in India...it doesn't change a thing...because they are so mature and i am proud that they call me a stranger UNCLE and exchange greetings to me all the time. I rarely see comments open on CBC... there must be a reason... hmmmm The fact that the Trudeau government (who owns CBC) is looking for an opinion means that it is FINALLY getting through to them that when immigration outpaces available housing you get a problem... when you do it by margins of millions of people you get a CATASTROPHY! Canada is not a place to immigrate to. Many Canadians are leaving. The cost of living, the taxes, the rents, the weather, the government, the wokeism. All true, no matter how many excuses people in the comments want to come up with.

I Love when Canadians and American are calling other people immigrants when they themselves are the also the immigrants. I hate to disagree to most comments on this Video. Canada is still one of the best countries to live, work and raise your family. As a pakistani immigrant myself, having lived in Dubai, Saudi, and UK, I still find Canada easily the best overall.\n\nWhen it comes to hardships, yes you must have a positive mindset to survive in Canada but ofcourse you pay the price of living your Canadian dream. \n\nIf you are a couple with a household income of 10K take home, you can still live an extremely good life in Canada. Regardless of all the mud-slinging in the comments, I strongly advise any prospective immigrants to Canada to consider their situation/ aspirations seriously before making the move to Canada. While Canada is indeed a beautiful country, especially from spring to fall, there is no doubt that it has fallen behind severely in recent years. This is a massively underperforming country and people (Canadians and immigrants alike) are struggling big time. There is a massive leadership problem in Canada, where trivial problems get 99% of the attention. Real problems (which are easily solvable by the way) get little to no attention at all. Either there is very little will or the current administration is simply incompetent. Either way, some structural changes need to happen before Canada can recover.

Amazing you can comment on a CBC news YouTube channel.. you cannot blame the huge influx of immagrants on just students coming here to learn... One would think with all the money the Canadian Government has provided the CBC last year (1.3 billion CND by their own admission), they could do a better job of the quality of audio production of this video. I normally can play most videos with my volume set to 30% of maximum volume, but this video requires me to increase the volume to 50% to be able to hear what the CBC News commentator was saying.

I'm only halfway through but feel I need to comment and well I'm not exactly a new Canadian. But I was born the but grew up in New Zealand. And well why not . I moved over there in 2014 with full rights as a citizen. My trade wasn't recognised. Canada has its own rules about everything. You need to have training to pour drinks in a bar wtf.! But yea I came wanting a better life and well thankfully I wound up in Calgary so eventually I had the money to leave. And come home where know having seen the Canadian shit show I'm killing it here. It saddens me and yes I was that asshole that got trudeau on there cos I seen one rousing speech where he invoked his dad Pierre. And I fell for it. And not to lie I look old Canadian so I fit right in English is my first language and all that. And funnily enough it was the first time in my life where I could say fucking immigrants. It's a brutal place a brutal work climate and well there's a lot that's nice but when it's bad it's dog ear dog. I feel really sad about what's happening, all the mass illegal immigration and yet your a criminal for noticing it. A lot is very wrong, don't get me wrong nz is doing all the same shit too. I went to Canada for prosperity and to change my life lesson I learnt was go home ans do better and that's fucked.

I appreciate the way you present the reality. One way to cope with salaries and taxes is to open you own enterprise. This is the canadian way of growing fron a wealth point of view. As a person leaving from a salary, it is still possible to grow depending on your skills. But beggining your own business to exploit your skills will make you 'fly' to the next level, which is the actual way of growing. It took me a lot of years to realice this. Just think about it, provinces allow medecins to incorporate what means that they will pay less taxes and become richer sooner. This is just my thought, other people may think in a different way, I just try to give positive ideas.\n\nSecondly, Canada is still a country to live in a bit better than other countries considering many things happening around the world. Crime and economics is worst everywhere also. But, it all depends on what criteria counts for you. About society, it's not easy to make real friends except other inmigrants that need it too. Yeah job security is an important factor I think those of us who are in IT and have been 'sacked' as someone here in another comment mentioned feel the brunt when you know that Canadian companies are looking elsewhere for cheaper labor. I think it's after something like this happens when you really think about things such as Unions and the seemingly open door to qualified immigrants who would take a lower paid job just to get a foot in the door. Hey, it happened to me many years ago so why would it be different. Interesting times indeed.

I see comments about the u.s. ... oh', so much better, lower taxes etc. Fact: in 2024, a nuclear family (2 parents, 2 kids) in the u.s. often pays over $2,000/mo, every month, just for medical insurance premiums. That is just another form of tax ... the cost of living.Tuition, far higher in the u.s. Property taxes, far higher. I lived in the u.s. for 20 yrs, and returned to Canada. And, Canadian society is less violent, less racist, more polite, more civilized, there is less social anxiety. If you don't like it here, go try America. Canada is among the best of countries with a higher standard of living for average working families, than in the u.s.
