I have met a lot of Indians both good and bad. When you go to a store or somewhere you have this race of people who won't speak Canadian language, unless it's absolutely necessary. God forbid if you say to them they should speak English ior French in Canada, you are always called racist. When you hear of a murder of drug raid, it's almost always an Indian name. Hell, when you are cut off in traffic, well as you said in ithe beginning they look like you, not me. As I said at the first I have met and made friends with Indians, but it begins to piss you off, when there are so many. Our government has to stop the import of one race and if need be choose a little of all races, and prepare.

People like to exaggerate a lot of things that’s going on in people lives, especially if they’re Public figures if someone is coming behind you and then the person comes and tries to close the door. You are going to look back again stop saying older people are confused they’re being cautious. You don’t want to respect them you’re being foolish WAIT WHEN YOU BECOME OLDER you’re a bunch ?

Despite the fact that I live in a fucked up third world country myself, there are three major reasons why I have not moved to a first world country yet:\n1. Money \n2. I have my own house here and I don't have any debts. Not a lot of first world citizens can say that now, can they?\n2. I want Guaranteed opportunities (Either a job offer or a PhD offer) if I am to move abroad. \n3. First world countries have a habit of blaming immigrants for all of their bullshit. ALL OF IT. Even the parts that aren't our faults. Fuck them.

The program expanded under the LPC.\n\nBut remember, the Provinces are the ones who control that number. If Conservative Premiers acted like Legault, the numbers go down. Caps are fine but if you are concerned about the impact of wages being driven down… your Premier has a lot to do with this. Don’t let them off the hook.

I live in South Etobicoke. There has been a lot of Indians moving in the past couple of years. Most of them are pretty cool. They just keep to themselves and go about their business.

It's really difficult to understand the bureaucracy.\n\nBureaucracy:\nIt took me 9 months to get a working permit.\nFor a renewal, I had to make an appointment to have an appointment... The last time they offered me an appointment after 1.5 years.\n\nYou don't get a right answer from the people who works there. Your life depends on those people.\n\nAs an expat who lives 3.5 years in Germany, I still don't have an German bank account which is not online. Basically, they don't open the account or giving an appointment to over 1 months or etc. \n\nBut this bureaucracy is for all. Germans also have the same issue.\n\nHousing is also an issue. I tried to apply the same places by my name and a German name. It was possible to get an appointment by a German name :) \nBut I do understand them that they find Germans of course more trustworthy.\n\nCulture:\nI don't think many people are racist here. I even live in Mecklenburg Vorpommern. They were mostly nice to me. However, the city you live change a lot. Hamburg is one of the best city about welcoming expats. People are nice and kind. Never had an issue here.

I had been living in Germany for a very long time, before I moved to the Netherlands several years ago. If we compare DE to NL, than I would indicate the following main advantages of each country:\n\n?? 1) low prices for food and relatively low rental prices for apartments (the prices in NL are at least two times higher) 2) the enterprises are more willing to invest in their employees (in NL you must be already a very skilled/talented worker) 3) if we speak about the German health care system, then you can directly approach a specialist without visiting your GP, even though you must wait an eternity for your Termin (in NL is your huisarts always a key decision maker). 4) The Germans are more friendly towards foreigners (probably because they made a lot of experience with them, due to the mass immigration)\n\n??1) much lower taxes and premiums 3K net salary = 4,2K list salary = 5,2 K premiums (in DE the same 3K net=5K list=8K premiums, of course approximately). 2) much much less courts/lawsuits/warnings about every crumb (have you ever heard about the German Abmahnindustrie???) 3) the young people in NL are the priority (even if we compare the Corona pandemic time, the whole German society strongly prioritized the older ones) 4) much more order in the cities/villages and much less pre-conventional/spoiled immigrants/freeloaders (step out from the same train in Aachen and in Maastricht- you will instantly notice the difference!).\n\nHope to have informed you all sufficiently ??

Singapore is trying a lot for getting Chinese people to work in Singapore. Many of them will return to China after a couple of years. These are usually the best and highest qualified.\nI suspect in Germany it's a somewhat similar situation. You train and educate someone, and then when he or she is really becoming productive ... bye bye. I personally had trained dozens in my job.

I went to Germany for my Masters at one of their top universities, back then (10 years ago) taken in by their great public image and a personal interest in Germany history and culture. Looking back now having also experienced living in the UK, HK and Sweden thereafter, I can understand why Germany has trouble attracting the top talents, or any ambitious individuals seeking to develop their career overseas.\n\nIt doesn't provide the money.\nIt doesn't provide a dynamic enough market and opportunities.\nIt doesn't provide the same type of diversity and excitement in truly world-class cities like London, HK etc. Don't get me started on food.\nEverything is functional but that seems to be the sole standard to aspire to. \nGermans are not the people whom you can bond easily. Sincere and friendly many are, but the amount of effort needed to even crack beyond that shell is ridiculous. In this respect I think most north europeans are quite cold and distant. But working with Germans you need to also handle their 'honesty', intensity and directness on top of that. The lack of nuance rubs a lot of people in the wrong way. \n\nThe Germans whom I met and spent their formative years overseas are fantastic. Invariably none of them would have thought of moving back.

After reading a few of these comments, the main take aways are, there are a lot of immigrants, things cost more, healthcare is a mess and inflation.\nI am sorry that things are hard, the costs of everything are up everywhere in the world so good luck in gentrifying other nations and making your problems their problems.\nIt pains me to no ends that after things get tough in Canada many are ready to jump ship for better softer areas where they will trash the place with their incomes creating inequality there as well and then blaming the mess that they will create on the indigenous people that they will abandon for better pastures.\n\nAs a Canadian of native ancestry I never had it anywhere as good as many of the people here complaining about their middle class woes.\n\nMaybe if you fought for a change, like more housing to bring down the prices and fought corporate greedflation and gouging, realizing that much of this problem, the attack on the healthcare services, much of it being done by the conservative governments, then perhaps you would not be so annoyed with Trudeau.\n\nHe is not helping the housing problem by not building the 2 million new homes that he said he would but NIMBY people are making this difficult. They want the charm of a nice middle class feel to their neighborhoods but when it comes to housing, they don't want to build affordable near them and then they complain with their rents are too expensive or the costs of things too high. \n\nI can't say I feel much pity or empathy with most of the people complaining about their lots in life because as far as I can tell, many natives would love to have your problems but the best that many of them can do is to live in their own lands, homeless, even on their own reserves because there is just not enough housing. Yet when the prices of housing was going up, many homeowners loved it, even though it meant that the poor, the actual poor and not you lot, were stacked like firewood into smaller and smaller rooms with no AC so it was hot in the summer and freezing in the winter and the slum lords are having a hey day. \nThe actual first nations people are homeless and being killed daily and are arrested for being poor daily but you lot think you have it bad. \n\nSorry, when non first nations people say that they will leave Canada because its not how they remember it when they were kids and its worse now so they will jump ship to gentrify other nations, I just shake my head and hold open the door as you leave the nation and wonder at your arrogance and egoism.

We have immigrants coming to Canada from all over the world and there are a lot of students too, but there is something terribly wrong with people from India. When coming to a new country, you have to come to a point where you respect that country's law and your values too. You cannot impose your laws and values on them. Freedom is given here but don't abuse it. Lastly, live for a little bit under the sun and stop this race mentality.

My family immigrated here in the 1950s out of war torn Europe for a better life. Things have changed so much since I was a kid in the 80s and 90s. Toronto was a safe city with a good vibe. Things were reasonably affordable. Trudeau didn't start a lot of the problems, but he massively accelerated them. Government is openly hostile to basically anyone who was born here. They sold out the country to wealthy foreigners. I make a decent income but I still can't afford a house. Taxes are killing me. My doctor is horrible, but I can't find a new one. Civil liberties went right out the window. The people are cold and sullen. Crime is getting bad. Life just feels like it gets a little worse every year. I've been mulling it over for a long time, but might finally be time to head south. There's got to be something better than this, because I'm getting older and life now just feels like going through the motions.

Leaving may solve your problems but only for very short time, because whatever place you end up in, it may be no better, and good deal worse, since you won't be a citizen there. Remember too, that Europe and US are all afflicted with the same WOKE, antidemocratic malady destroying Canada. The only sure way to improve situation is by staying, standing up and fighting (legally, and non violently if possible) for what you believe. There must be more of people who feels like you.\nBut I have to say something bitter to you and all those thinking about leaving.\nCanada was a good place for you for years, like a good Mother. But now when the country is in deep troubles you won't even consider standing up and defending Her. Instead you'd rather pack up and leave. This shows to me, that you don’t feel like a Canadian. An Indian who speaks English and has 3 family members, believe me, they didnt escape extreme poverty, also they paid a lot as well. I am an Indian so I know how things work. A lot of them just have a false view about the western countries, that these countries are oh so great and they will live better there. But every place is only better for the ppl who deserve to be there.

So many Canadians in the same situation — perhaps use your Canadian passport ? so many better places for you to be… find a nice job across the border in the US — it’s so easy to get a TN work Visa, or work tax free in the UAE, or build a nice career in Singapore. I had the same problem with Australia — it’s my home, and my heart will always fondly call it home forever. Australia is a big country with small job market, generally ignorant (but nice) people and limited economic diversity. One gets proper civic amenities only in either Melbourne or Sydney e.g., top notch medical care, a wide variety of groceries etc. Taxation is very high and although some people will tell you “we are well taken care of…” that is not true nowadays. The Australian Government’s policies over the last 40 years destroyed manufacturing, the economy, working conditions and inflated the property market. A reasonable 2-bedroom apartment in a Sydney suburb could cost you Au$2000-3000 in rent or Au$500,000+ to buy — and that goes higher as you get closer to downtown Sydney. The problem is that incomes are not high enough in Australia and housing quality is less than average overall for these ridiculous prices. Food, tolls and petrol cost a lot, although Sydney and Melbourne’s fresh food markets give you better prices than you’ll find in most other cities. My wife and I had a combined income of over Au$300,000/year while we lived there. We finally left Australia and moved to the US because even with our relatively high income we could only have an average house for around Au$1.8 million, we couldn’t fill up the tub and have a proper bath because of water restrictions, our kids would get an average schooling and their only dream in life would be to one day own a house. We didn’t want to live like that, so we wrapped up and left for good. The US is much better for skilled people — I don’t mean plumbers, tilers, roofers or landscapers, although life is good for them too. I’m sure someone will reply to this comment about the gun violence in the US. All I can say is that in the US we have the option to defend ourselves whereas in Australia we are expected to quietly die if someone kicks us in the head, stabs us or shoots us. Quality of life is good here in the US for me and my family. Fly free, mate!

I think all things are possible when you are young and healthy. As someone with an unexpected chronic disease that showed up in my 40s I'm on immunosuppressants that are very costly. Thank God the gov't here covers them. With treatments every 6 weeks I have no freedom to leave. While that's taken care of, access to a family doctor or emergency care is horrible. Waiting a month for a doctors appt or having to spend 10 hours in emergency is not okay in a developed country.\n As a citizen you have Canada as a safety net, so its no big deal if you move and don't like it. I'm not sure where is safe in the world right now. A lot of people moved to Equador, and then boom the violence got out of control. Just my thoughts on things.

Borders exist for a reason. It’s not fair to citizens of ANY country to dump hoards of unknown, unvetted people onto us and our cities AND expect us to support, educate, provide healthcare and pay for them. People from poor countries think westerners and Europeans are all rich. In our societies we work extremely hard and sacrifice our entire lives to have a good future and healthcare if we need it. We pay a lot of tax to have safe cities and towns. When you dump thousands and millions of people into our countries we all sacrifice even more and cannot access housing, healthcare or social programs because they are overwhelmed helping illegals. That is not fair to citizens of any nation. The real difference would be teaching poorer war torn countries how to build fair societies. How to build an economy. How to develop a democracy. How to root out government corruption. How to be tolerant of other religions. How to take care of your own citizens!!

When my kids were in high school, the student population at their school was 84% Punjabi. Nice kids, nothing against them, but that says to me that, given the severe crisis in housing and the cost of living, we maybe ought to make things livable for the people who are already here (regardless of whether they were born here) before inviting a lot of new people to come and put more strain on the system

As an Indian student, i would like to share with you my perspective \n1) you will never see me dancing in public, blasting music and littering \n\nI actually spend my sundays cleaning plastic from trails \n\n2) i am a full time student for 4 years funding over 90 grand for a bachelor on top of that paying my taxes and paying 1100$ a month for rent being limited to 24 hours a week I do not work outside campus I work the job the college provided to me \n\nThe problem comes up when people use the 1 year and 6 month diploma program to enter the country and work here full time \n\nThey associate themselves only with indians mainly because they cant speak the English language fluently \nTherefore they associate with the exact people they associated with back home \n\nHow will they adapt to a new country if they hang out with the same people \n\n\nI came to canada with a goal \n\nTo make Canadian friends \nLearn about Canadian culture \nStart a new life \nAnd work my ass off to get my degree \n\n\nMost people move here to make more money \n\nThey sell their land and do so \n\nPlease do not associate hard working indians who adapt and leave their past behind with these people who have come here purely to exploit the system\n\n\nTrust me I know it's hard to hear this but good Indians do exist. I have so many Canadian friends who love me as much as I love them. I see a lot of homeless in my town. None of them are Mexican.

I got laid off 5 weeks ago ( no renewal of contract).. after 7 years working for that NFP.. I applied for snap and unemployment… while applying for jobs( social worker field)… first, they ask for so many documents… including my bank account….( again I was laid off .. not fired nor left my job, nor finding reasons not to work all those years ), department of labor had a mandated zoom meeting to discuss what I needed to do 4 weeks after I was laid off( like i don’t know)… I ve been working for years and paying taxes… a lot of them in NYC, I was also told that I have to show what I am doing to search for work and eventually should take a job( even if the salary is low..ridiculous)… I was also informed that I may get a call from investigator from DOL..they may call individuals receiving unemployment benefits($441 a week after taxes?)… to verified that I was searching and applying for jobs( even though I enter my activities related to work weekly on their website…..)….. meanwhile… people with 0 legal documentation are entering the US and living here, free snap, free housing, free health insurance!!!! Lala land!!!! Can’t wait for this non sense to stop!!! Every corner of NY , you see families begging for money. Food…I feel bad as a human being, but refuse to help or I ll be joining them too… welfare system needs to change too! The politics NEED to change!!!All the best !

After watching your video u have some point. But since 2020 Canada donated to much money to Ukraine and also getting immigrants. Maybe you don’t know but Canada give the free visa to them and paying for the hotels. I also want to mention that Canada is not exporting much to other countries if you check you going to find out more. All the companies you showed they are in USA Canada don’t have them so. Even USA doesn’t import from Canada. I live in Winnipeg government people are tired of native here just go to downtown you will see everything ?. There are now quite a few news stories in Canada of immigrants leaving the country - some back home and others to the USA and other places. Many just get a Canadian passport and then leave. There are public health care and pensions, so it can be an asset and also a convenient travel document to have. A lot of Canadian university graduates have a very hard time finding work in their fields and a lot of them look to the US for a better future. Both immigration and unemployment in Canada are much higher that in the US - so more people are chasing fewer jobs that often pay less and are taxed more than in the USA. Opportunities are generally a lot fewer in Canada than the US, and the business environment is not as favourable, and taxes significantly higher. You would be getting some of the entrepreneurs from Canada moving to the US for more favourable conditions as well to launch a business and also now a lot more rich investor types, so-called high net worth individuals wanting to relocate, because they just raised the capital gains tax in Canada. Capital gains is also triggered on inheritance in Canada with a deemed sale of property and assets, so rich people would prefer the American system and want to be residents there for tax purposes and have their assets grow in value in the US compared to Canada. There are very large numbers of foreign students and other categories of immigrants which may have as their goal going to the US after getting a temporary visa to Canada which is easy to get - maybe something like half a million to a million people in those categories depending on the year, plus around another half million regular immigrants and refugees now. The Trudeau administration has increased immigration to record numbers. It has been steadily going up over the years for several decades since 1990. Because of family re-unification it can have a snowball effect and could significantly exceed 1 million per year. A lot of the sending countries have much larger populations than Canada, so there are a lot more that can be potentially sent to Canada in the future. About 1/4 of the population of Canada has been added in the past few decades. Add to that visitors and temporary visas - that is a lot of people potentially moving to the US. Before the 1990s Canadians visiting the US were not required to have a passport and a drivers' license or birth certificate was adequate. Now a passport is required. It is impossible to effectively control the long Canada-US border, so there could be some unified policies in that area agreed on between Canada and the USA on immigration and refugees. Canada currently has a very open immigration policy with the government actively seeking out more immigration beyond its current processing capacity and trying to take rejected immigrants from other countries. The Canadian government, especially in recent years under Trudeau is immigration hungry. It might be the only country in the world doing that. What some news reports are now saying is that some immigrants are actually leaving, since they find it so difficult in Canada and some are worse off than they were in the countries they came from, which were considered to be less developed than Canada. \nWashington currently has more immigration controls and administrative competencies than Ottawa, so US pressure and influence is a faster way to get reforms into the system than waiting for local politicians to do anything, which is unlikely. Canada is seen by some as a backdoor into the US. Biden's immigration policies could be seen as very conservative in Canada compared to Trudeau's. It used to be in the news about how refugees were trying to get to Canada and walking across the border in Quebec and out west from the US earlier, but now there are more news stories of immigrants leaving Canada trying to go the other way, probably due to high costs and unemployment because the government took in more people than it could absorb into the economy. They have the idea that immigration drives GDP growth so that they can borrow and spend more, expand the civil service, etc. without making any cutbacks or efficiencies, supposedly without the Debt to GDP ratio getting worse, just by bringing in more people as if that would drive the economy. A lot depends on who you bring in as well. Are they going to go on welfare, are they going to increase crime, will they somehow contribute to society, are they a net tax benefit or cost in terms of government services, will they invest money, will they start a business and create jobs for others ? Those issues do not factor into government decision making in Canada for the most part. Ontario Premier Doug Ford did say there were too many foreign students. It is bad planning not to consider those factors since there are other costs that grow with those policies as well, and infrastructure has to be expanded. I think that the real immigration numbers to Canada are not transparent or made public, nor are the costs involved, if anyone even knows what they are. Nor is the impact on crime. You can guess from what the reports are in other countries. The Fraser Institute has made some estimates on the net costs of immigration to the government budget a few years ago, which were very high and which by now have increased - the cost equivalent of several new aircraft carriers each year. They are big numbers which are not publicized, but it amounts to the fact that immigration is subsidized by the taxpayers in Canada and it is not paying for our pensions as an ageing society as has been claimed. There is less money for education, health care and pensions per person, and those social benefits will probably have to be reduced over time. Social programs can only be delivered to the extent that the government has money. The bigger social system a county has, the more such immigration policies are going to cost. Trudeau has been expanding various social programs as well, so higher taxes and debt are likely with that approach. Then more productive people and companies will want to leave Canada and go to the US. Probably the government does not know what the actual numbers and costs are and doesn't actively keep track of that information beyond what is required. Probably nobody knows what the true immigration figures and their associated costs are in Canada, and hardly anyone has even studied those issues. If they can just walk across the US border and get papers so easily making an asylum claim, it is not surprising, since it would take them longer to get a regular visa and work permit if they did it legally. You could call that a loophole in the US immigration system which is being exploited. The US is better governed in general and has a better system in many ways, but I am not sure if it is the same on that. People have arrived on boats and have not been sent back. At least in the US you have more open information about those issues. In Canada it is hard to find out anything about it. Deportations from Canada are very few. \nOn other issues in Canada when voting in federal elections you have to show a government issued photo ID like a drivers' license or passport to vote and bring a card that was mailed out to eligible voters that gets updated addresses when a person files their taxes. I have never heard of mail-in ballots in Canada, but there are remote areas of the country in the far north who may have special system for voting. It is easier to get a Canadian citizenship than US and many more citizenships are handed out in Canada each year in proportion to the population than in the US. Canadian might be one of the easiest citizenships to get in the world. The official line now is that it is a country of immigrants. Based on current trends, will very little opposition to it in the parliament and most MPs supporting it, future immigration to Canada could increase to several million per year because of the rapid growth of population in the world, and the momentum already growing of immigration to Canada, so it may change significantly in the future. Historically around the world you can see many examples that country names, borders, flags and languages change over time with population changes, so it might not be called Canada anymore in 50-100 years. For example, Bulgaria used to be called Thrace which had been a powerful kingdom in antiquity and had a different language which is barely known about anymore. Over the past 2,000 years it has gone through a number of changes and had various regimes governing it, has been independent and also part of several different empires. Canada has only been a country for a short time in comparison and has been been going through significant changes. Trudeau has said that Canada is a post-national country. Canada is also going through a period of critical self-examination and deconstruction-revisionism. A lot of what had been viewed as positive from its history now is seen more critically, with re-naming and removing historical figures now seen as negative.\nDiscussing immigration policy critically is considered by many to be taboo in Canada, unless a person is saying good things about it in general. You can hear people say that the government isn't processing enough people, for example, but not often that there are too many or that it costs a lot of money. The trend of migration from Canada to the US would only increase much more in the future as it is going currently, and its role as a stepping stone to migration to the US could increase. The way this would be seen by many in Canada is that they are losing valuable people to the USA whom they consider assets, since a lot of officials have been trying to bring in more people into the country, but not everyone wants to stay in Canada nowadays because of a lack of jobs and opportunities. Canada is quite laissez-faire about migration, with Toronto being a sanctuary city as well.

I live in a shelter that houses Migrants on floors beneath me. Without fail I see the following amongst them: rhinestone manicures, botox treatments, Steve Madden purses, professionally done highlights, and children as young as ONE with tbeir own cellphones. They also don a lot of designer clothes and shoes. MANY of them are pregnant!!! In my calculations they live better than the average American.

A lot of the immigrants coming are just middle-class but in other countries. my sister-in-law took in some Venezuelans and all they cared about was visiting New York City to take pictures with the Statue of Liberty. I sell used clothes and my sister-in-law took them to my shop and they did not want the clothes because it was used. These people are ungrateful.

I think a lot of Americans either forgot or didn't know that a few yrs ago illegals were pouring into Canada from US from Vermont. Roxam Rd in Quebec was their landing spot. Taxis in US made a fortune taking them to the border there where they crossed into Can and were greeted by RCMP acting as baggage carriers, loading these ppl unto busses and driving them to $50.00 a day hotels. Neither Canadain or American govt did anything to stop this. Ppl died out west crossing through the woods in dead of winter in the bitter cold. Both Canada and US are very proud of our unprotected border but if the law on both sides would have nipped this in the bud both countries would not have ended up in such a mess.

Its isolating and disorientating but hey, its the new way. I think India has a lot to offer the world . And we have had a lot of it arrive , too much, according to many. This without anyone asking, discussing, debating, informing, admitting to the native populous. Its polite if nothing else, to respect the customs and the hosts of the place u arrive. Reality — these migrants bring their whole culture, family, friend group, political beliefs, problems and traditions with them. Hmm I feel so bad for everyone involved in this. I don't really want cartels going over the US border but I really don't mind all the people fleeing from countries that are even worse then the US. So many of them have such horror stories from their native countries. And if they're willing to work here I don't think there should be really a problem. I just really wish they wouldn't all congregate in the big cities and would move more to a lot of the rural places that are losing people. The housing is getting so expensive in the big cities I'm not sure how they can afford even stay there.

I, in my right mind, don’t care if these economic migrants end up sleeping on the streets. Many of our homeless population sleep under bridges and encampments. In other countries like Philippines or to a lesser degree Thailand, there are a lot of people roughing it on their streets. So don’t cry too much for them. Once, the word is out that the coddling and freebies are gone, then this situation goes away. The ones who are here, can go underground and take cash jobs, then they can take a flight back to their home countries as there is no chance for them to get legal citizenship status.

Just wanna present some of my views on this topic, as a indian living in Canada, a lot of points in this discussion are pretty valid. Although, the hate is also in my opinion a little misdirected.\n\nInternational students pay three, maybe even five times as much as domestic students in terms of tuition fees, and while I 100% agree that not everybody even deserves to stay here, a major portion of fault is on government. If you want to make an argument, that government or the country in general never promise the residency status in Canada, then regulate the tuition fees, make it manageable for everyone.\n\nIf you don't want to do that, fair enough, then provide opportunities, there 100% are bad apples in the population, I will not deny that! But you called them, you took the responsibility, you promised the opportunities and students paid for it. Now you hate us for that, either build the bridge both ways or don't hate.\n\nI am genuinely more frustrated with the system rather than immigrants, it is becoming a widespread trend to hate immigrants but I believe the government is just as much at a fault. If you think I am wrong, I would to hear your views on the topic, it is a pretty complex one, just be respectful.

The ratio of men to women is also insane. I have noticed there is way more uneducated men coming in and a lot of them are not culturally accustomed to Canada when it comes to how to behave. The amount of times I’ve seen them in groups hanging around the playgrounds or joking about kidnapping / r@pe, following women, its crazy. Or even posting ads for rooms to rent but as a male requesting only females. \n\nWe are moving out of a city we love because they are driving up rent prices and taking jobs. \n\nI’m not against immigrants or different cultures being here but there needs to be some sort of better application process and smaller number of them coming in at a time.

As someone who was born in Canada and left, I wanted to know about some current sentiment, especially by younger people. I think you had some interesting information. I'm actually sad to hear that crime and homelessness has gotten even worse, especially in places like you mentioned, DTES. One thing I want to share with you about the housing issue. Canada acts like a Federation. Meaning that a lot of decision making is delegated to the provincial and municipal level. Yes, Canada has goals for immigration. That's a super valid goal because every developed country is going through declining birth rates. Canada wants to lessen the damage that will be felt by so many other countries like Italy, Germany, China, Japan, etc. The issue with this federated government is like you said, a disconnect between goals and readiness. However, I really feel this will never be accomplishable because of all the lobbying that occurs at the municipal level that the Federal and even Provincial level government cannot control. Yes, there may be shortages in labour to do development, but even then, I really think that lobbying and corruption is keeping adequate supply from being built. From the homeowners and the perspective of the wealthy property owners, they want to keep the valuation of housing high by keeping supply low. Why else is the municipal government keeping such archaic zoning laws? From what I could find, there has been some talk about changing this (https://bc.ctvnews.ca/b-c-to-table-housing-law-targeting-outdated-zoning-rules-1.6627260) but I struggle to see anything really being done. That's probably because of lobbying. The immigration laws set by the government had too many loopholes and flaws ultimately. I don't think we are getting enough productive immigrants. Actually, the opposite seems to occur a lot. The wealthy from the countries I mentioned are abusing the immigration policies in Canada to transfer and preserve their wealth in Canada. I think it has hid in plain sight for a long time, and people have started talked about it in the last 5-10 years because of the struggles of housing affordability from the middle class. What about the immigrants that really want to start a life in Canada and find opportunities like you said? The housing is too expensive for them to do that. Why is everyone that works at Zara in Sherway Gardens and Square one a foreigner a lot of them tell me they are full time not even students. It’s a scam. Those retail jobs when I was young were for high school students and uni students. So sad that our kids can’t find jobs. It makes me angry. Pierre needs to speak up. I believe India is the best country to stay because:\n- Rents extremely high in developed cities . Property prices unaffordable in big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata. People are paying life long EMI till death.\n- Teachers focus more on Private tutions to make money. If you don’t take lessons from them, they will fail you in education system \n-Government doctors more focus on Private practices than their Government jobs. I honestly feel like if this kind of thing continues, North America is going to end up as a new India in terms of overpopulation. the more population there is the harder it will be to provide food. the harder it is to provide food, sustainability will sink and there will be a situation that is nearly uncontrollable, more and more people will be unhappy, The complexity in how prices are rising with inflation of food and housing is bad enough. Imagine this scenario too though, imagine a time where there are so many people that do need hospital assistance, and the waiting rooms are beyond filled. the lack of space, the lack of medical attention for people because there are too many people and not enough doctors in the first place anyway. We must not forget, the amount of jobs to person ratio in existence and the new difficulty factor to get an entry level job these days compared to some 20 years ago. Some jobs such as cashiers are being replaced by self serving stations, so that reduces jobs, even if it doesn't pay all that much, it is something to help if someone is living with family and might only be able to find that for starters until they find something better paying, at least it gives them work experience. The facts have to be looked at in what is happening in many aspects, but there are a hell of a lot of opinionated people that seem to be just fine with the situation, maybe because they themselves are in a sweet position, in a sweet spot and are supported big time to where some others are struggling medically and financially.

I've been living in Canada for the last 10 years ( came here as an international student), and now applying for my permanent residency. Went through high school, post secondary, and now working a full-time job in my field of study. I would say it's long overdue for Canada to scale down on its immigration policies (yes, I've had this thought even when I was a student so anyone who thinks I switched teams can shut up). There are simply not enough houses to accommodate Canadian, let alone immigrants. A lot of them only work minimum wage jobs which neither help the country with shortages in other fields nor their careers in the long term, and overall it gives immigrants a bad rap in the eyes of Canadian citizen. The recent changes in immigration imo is a good first step in the right direction.\n\nEdit: Also I'd like to add that if you're leaving your own home country to join another for a better life, it's your responsibility to adapt and contribute to their society, not the other way around. If you can't do that, stay in your home country.

Idk if you mention this but in NS the gov pays 75% of immigrant wages meaning employers prefer hiring immigrants over citizens. I lost my family doctor 2 years ago and haven’t gotten a new one. My kids did as well. And walk in clinics are literally lined up outside the door every day. \nAnd I’ll add the culture of India is a lot different than Canadian culture especially when it comes to customer service.. even getting our doubles doubles has been effected. \nAnd I’ll mention the immigrants often have no kids or family with them.. they live all in 1 place even 8 people in a 1 bedroom and they will have multiple jobs. According to the news we broke 40 Million residents in Canada in the new year. They just announced that the Canadian population is already at 41 million as of last week. How can we absorb this many people. I would say the majority are from India. A lot of these new residents are amazing. But hear me out......For more than 70 years Canada has accepted diverse immigrants from around the world. These immigrants have always had challenges with acceptance and integration as they bought homes and had families and raised children to be Canadians. But these immigrants are economic migrants. They don't want to be Canadians like they used to. They want the PR, and the citizenship. But they want to work and move all that money out of Canada back to India. Then when they retire, they themselves will dump all their Canadian assets and move to India where cost of living and home ownership is exceedingly less expensive. Even their federal government pension plan money will move out of the country. I'll be totally truthful...MY perception of these economic migrants is that THEY HATE US. In India they are educated, come from Middle class and upper middleclass families. They want the PR and Citizenship so they can eventually pull their entire family from India over to Canada. But they have to Work at Burger king or Tim Hortons when they arrive. And the HATE and resent Canadians for it. \n Canada allows people to keep their foreign passports and citizenship. There are 300,000 people with Canadian citizenship living in Hong Kong, There are 450,000 people with Canadian citizenship living in Lebanon with a War about to expand across the border. Yeah I being Indian I have faced lot of problems from Indian land lord , they are pain. Again all of them are not same , as India is a wide nation with different sub culture in there. I am Canadian and I work in an area with a lot of foreign student labour. This is an accurate summary of the situation. I have some college education, and I noticed many Indian students are going to private colleges a distance away. I believe the colleges aren't properly vetting these students in order to allow more in and collect more money from them. International students pay more to go to school in Canada. These young people unfamiliar with a western education system don't understand things aren't being done properly, but the bad reputation of these schools gets around and these students credentials are worthless. It's sad considering families frequently go into debt to send their kids to Canada. Mass Immigration is ruining housing in Canada because not enough building happend to house the sudden population increase. Canadians access to services such as health care is hindered by the population iincrease. Something as simple as the common language spoken in the country has changed. It is true if the goverment changes the people in the country the goverment has changed the country.
