My husband has been here since 3 years of age for over 50 years now, I have been here for over 30 years and we are leaving in the next year. We are both dual nationality Canadians and are going back to the UK. Trudeau has totally destroyed this once beautiful country. Like me, I already want to move back. Canada was overglamorized. I think I'm just gonna finish my post grad work permit and move back home. At least there, housing is still within my reach. It's rare people doesn't own homes. You can grow food in your backyard. Can live without debt in any way if you choose as we dont rely in mortgages and credit cards or credit scores.\n\nCanada is good in pictures, but not totally in real life. And what I realized is every country has issue in corruption, government, capitalism etc. There's no perfect country, might as well, just have an almost perfect life with loved ones.

I also returned back to Europe in 2022. I am happy in Netherlands. Plenty jobs and cheaper living. In Toronto before I left, I was paying rent 2400 CAD/month including utilities, for a basement, ridiculous. After almost 15 years living in Canada, I was forced by poor living standards to come back to Europe. I had no more dreams, nothing, just to pay rent, food and car.

Deceptive. You cannot prove that politicians “refuse to allow more homes to be built b/c they want to prevent depreciation of their own properties”! Did they tell u that? Sure in some parkland towns they don’t allow too much building like in Banff. But otherwise, Canada is a capitalistic nation. Private investors build homes, not the public government so much. Home building is PRIVATE INDUSTRY just like groceries are private industry, NOT PUBLIC. If right wingers don’t like that, then that means they don’t like capitalism. Good, that should wake them up! Yeah once recent immgrants have slept outside the shelter referral center for a couple of months they quickly learn that the government does not care about them. I have tried to do the process thousands of time and it costs me thousand of dollars to take the English tests and finish many papers... and yet i have no chance of even getting closer of going to Canada...while i see here people are crossing the border easily!!

I actually believe Canada isn’t that bad as a country and it still has something to offer. If you can find your way you will be fine if not then it’s better to return home or chose a different country.

We pay 40 to 45% in taxes aside from property tax, expensive housing, utiities and food. the current government ruling is the main reason people wanting to leave Canada. you can not blame them just when they think they have seen it all the government adds new taxes(Carbon) we pay all these taxes but we get our garbage picked up once a week!? when a thief steals from you here the police tells you report it yourself online!? there is many problems here but the government pushes to teach little kids sexual contents!? I guess dividing people is the key to rule without challenges.

Housing affordability sucks, gender education sucks, and mostly our health care system sucks. Man I love Canada, don't get me wrong. But people are ruining it.
