The scariest thing that could happen in Canada is when doctors and nurses leave Canada and move to US for higher pay and good quality of life. What if healthcare aids leave Canada too and move to US or other better countries that supports them , who will take good care of our elderly? Well if I was younger I would certainly be gone. This is not the Canada I grew up in, hasn’t been for 8 years. If we get another 4 years with this current Liberal or NDP government, I may take my chances elsewhere anyway.

Government officials seem indifferent to these struggles, leaving individuals feeling helpless and frustrated. The situation feels dire, with no avenue for recourse or resolution.

The Indian diaspora here in Canada go back to India for better healthcare, go back for better housing, go back for better career growth, go back for better family life, even for better schooling. So why come here at all! Things are not the same as 10 years ago!

I have a theory; US lottery gave PR through a random selection, it allowed ourliers who otherwise will not qualify to get PR and move to america, these are the ones that start business and do random stuff that diversify and boost the economy. Canada PR system is based on point selection, points are earned from degree, work, language etc, this brings a specific type of people, people good in classroom, obedient people who look good on paper, these group are not risk takers, they will find a job, go back to school and struggle for the same type of opportunities. this places pressure on the system to cater to them. Canada needs janitors and donut servers willing to live with two other families in a 2 bedroom condo or we need the rich to fleece off of. I left Canada almost 4 years ago. The quality of life outside Canada is much higher and you can actually afford to live a high quality lifestyle. I would never move back to live there full time again. It's too expensive, the taxes are way too high and the quality of life is worse than a 3rd world country. \n\nIf you are currently living in Canada I would suggest to leave as soon as you can and build options in other countries around the world.

Last December, I spent THREE DAYS in the Emergency dept waiting for a bed and to be admitted. My ailment? I was suffering from bacterial pneumonia. They bungled my medication as well. Canada's healthcare system is a joke. I was born in Canada and have watched the deterioration of our once once-vaunted OHIP system fall apart through mismanagement. Sad state of affairs indeed. That's just the tip of the Iceberg. How our nation treats veterans who have served our country and those with debilitating disabilities is atrocious.

As a Canadian I can officially say without a doubt in my mind there's foreigners on pretty well every jobsite in Atlantic Canada they come here with nar bitta $ and get put through college or university while our own people struggles working min wage jobs to make enough to get that chance.

International students coming to Canada should budget properly for tuition fees, housing and living expenses. There are too many stories of destitute international students living under a bridge or using the local food banks for subsistence.\n\n\nCanada should not be granting student visas unless they can demonstrate financial means to afford their education. Many international students come here and work part-time to partially subsidize their education. \n\nIt is not fair for Canada to help subsidize international students.

We had to move out from Brampton bc it become terrible place to live. 3000 sq ft beautiful homes in nice subdivision. House next to us, 4 families in one house crowded like rats. Indian music playing laud in garage on Sundays. About 15 kids seating on top of 6 ft fence staring in our backyard. Couldn’t enjoy life anymore. Crime start to spike. Today people blame on Liberals, however that was during Conservative government of Brian Mulroney. Those immigrants destroy city. I hope they all leave Canada.

Every economy gets stronger with job creation. The problem in Canada is that taxes kept on increasing, the housing wasn’t developed adequately that skyrocketed the rents but the job market is just shrinking. Most immigrants from India are from Punjab who look for blue collar jobs but with high inflation they are not able to survive or save anything. So they don’t find it lucrative anymore. The new students should do their due diligence before coming otherwise they are going to struggle!

US Citizen here. My late Father was Dual Status... US Citizen & Canadian Subject. My family still has cousins in Ontario, Canada. At one time my Retirement Options included Canada as Permanent Residency would be easy. Residency is now more complicated & Costly... Plus my Canadian cousins that are roughly the same age as I am are moving to the Philippines where we have Filipino Cousins in Retirement. I'm planning to be Retired from the Civil Service & in the Philippines by November 2024.
