Also between 2022 and 2024 the amount of immigrants Canada let in was far larger than the previous years. This contributes to increase in crime and homeless because they brought massive amounts of people in compared to previous years without having the housing available for the increase in population. They should of made sure there was enough affordable housing for people. This has contributed to limited housing for everyone and increased the cost of living. \n\nAs far as making less money. She does not mention you dont have to work as many hours to get by. Both my freinds from Singapore and Malaysia mentioned that you have much more free time in Canada compared to back home where the work days are longer and you even have to work 6 days a week.

Next time please show some statistics about which country of origin most immigrants are coming from. Canada is being destroyed.

Home prices are on the up in pretty much everywhere in the developed world. But it's true it's more extreme in Canada. I don't see a major housing crash anytime soon and so home ownership will remain inaccessible to a large portion of the population. That said some measures could be taken to calm the market, for example, banning HELOC's would take away some liquidity from the market and thus less speculators. Also producing public housing accessible to a wide range of incomes, with some conditions (like how they do it in Austria) should be a mandate in all provinces similar to the way healthcare is. These measures may not be a long term solution but they certainly can help the next couple of generations.

Every would-be student who thinks Canada is a better country to live better think 500 times, not just twice. In 2024, if you moved to Canada, you will not only be living in poverty for decades. Stay away. 20, 30 years ago I would have said the opposite but not anymore. You will be met with the worst shock of your life that you won't be able to recover from unless you go home to your country of origin or consider other countries to study in or move to.

depends your in what province...im Bc recently moved from Kenya. its very expensive to live here but if you choose not to live a precious life you going to be better. when you want to come to Canada don't use agents, they will drain your cash and when you get here your broke. if you work in Canada wisely you'll own a property.\nhere we've high tax...we are charged tax in everything its getting harder to live here, if you don't have proper preppers and somewhere to stay. \nlife is good here depends with who your engaging with, and lots jobs are here.\n in General Canada needs people who brings value that matches the economy. any skill if in use wisely pays.

Most people really dont appreciate the positives in canada and have a false understanding on what it really is like growing up and having a family in most parts of the world. TLDR; I am an person from a wartorn, oppressive country, and I unfortunately do not have many options to choose from other than Canada to have a chance for a better life.\n\nLet me tell you from the perspective of a person whose dream is to come to Canada: I know all this already, I know things are going terribly and the cost of living has gone up significantly. But the unfortunate thing is, the country I am from, is currently in turmoil. I do not fit in there as a person and hate the culture. Its incredibly corrupt with no growth. I am more western, and open minded, and my original country is a strict Islamic country. I do not fit there at all.\n\nI know Canada has all these problems, but its my only choice for a better future, I dont want to go to US because I dont wanna die, also, EU wont accept me unless I am from EU myself or speak their language which is a catch 22. Australia is also becoming a shithole. That leaves Canada and NZ. NZ doesnt have that good of job prospects and limited scope and I love Canada, always have. The weather and everything that comes with it.\n\nYes its not perfect, but I think its more about knowing that I can go back to a place, that is not dangerous for me and my future family, where I will get good care if I am stable job wise. Canada and the West, in general, need to look to Singapore for a system that works\n\n- Focus on Budget Surpluses- to provide long term political and monetary stability (aka not spending more than they take in)\n- Mandatory High Savings rate (due to CPF, a mandatory savings program that operates like Social Security but doesnt put the cost burden on the next generation)\n- Focus Low Taxes - to attract businesses and incentivize growth\n- A focus on Home Ownership (to make sure citizen have a stake in the country- this leads to more stability)\n- Strong Rule of Law
