I would be honest with you most of people who leave Canada can have a good life in their home countries (mainly people who say this are from Europe or advanced country in Asia ), well if in your home country you can't make a life at all then what's the point of going back and what I'm taling about here is mainly African countries where everything is expensive and scarce, us living in third country we can even make enough money for a cost of flight alone in a one year of work, wages here can come to be 50$ USD a month that's if your lucky (and not even to say that you will spend most of them on food and health care)

Nova Scotian here speaking - Montreal and St John's are the funnest cities to visit. I remember hitchhiking in Newfoundland in the 1990's - if the first car didn't pick us up (there were 3 of us), then the second car would. Halloween in Montreal (before and hopefully after covid) was the best!

Pretty good Adam I'd just mention a few of those things are...I don't want to say inaccurate but way more diverse. For instance French. Yes Quebec is the only French province BUT New Brunswick is the only Bilingual province and basically half and half. This is good for things like federal of provincial services because by law they must provide service in both languages but not so basically everywhere else. The problem with this is you can have an almost completely English town almost nobody speaks French and drive 15 minutes and be in a town where nobody speaks English. Research on this might be hard because a town with a French name may not have any French people in and vise versa. Also this problem is multiplied in the fact that if you Do want a French area we don't speak standard French or Quebecois but instead Le Chiac which is a difficult and confusing mix of old French and english (almost exactly like the Cajun dialect). Second part of this is that Montreal is easy to live in if you don't speak French and is so multicultural you are just apt to hear Swahili as French in public. Last part is be very careful where you move on the prairies as they have may isolated towns some that speak French also. Next is tipping I've never had to tip anyone for a haircut outside of the military and all other forms of tipping here on the east coast are purely optional and wait staff don't get upset if you don't leave a tip unless you were a jerk or left them extra work like making a big mess (I worked as cook for a while after I got out of the army and I rarely ever head staff complain) HOWEVER....tip a waitress well and she might accidentally give you 2 pieces of pie lol and tip a taxi driver well and he will not only get you the cheapest fare he will find ANYTHING you may need no questions asked. Lastly on the nice thing....we are nice for sure especially compared to our southern neighbours BUT there is a lot of passive aggressive nice that happens and this also varies greatly. For instance as a city boy of course you answered the way you did but a guy who have lived all over this country in big and small, French and English places who now has retired to a rural town I can say I find the cities quite snobby and the French and the English can be quite snobby to each other and where I live now if you asked a random stranger for 5$ chances are you would get it also driving down the road people you don't know will just wave at you as if you were the closest friends. Canada is certainly a weird place so many extremes and my advice to anyone wanting to move here is do your research and then visit and travel a bit if possible because even us Canadians can be surprised by thing or two across this gigantic country

It's a pity that Americans couldn't just move into Canada. I would have loved to move there. Lived in Michigan before I moved to Texas so the weather wouldn't even be a problem. I actually miss the cold and snow. I feel like the US is becoming a third world country.

I am a British Columbian who briefly lived in Quebec, when the army posted me there for basic, I have to say Quebec is horrible, outside of Montreal, if you do not speak French. I also spent 5 years in Alberta & I would rank Alberta as number ☝️ of all of Canada’s provinces. \n\nThat all being said, I am sick of this country’s politics. I deeply regret serving this country due to how badly our current PM has treated us veterans, only PM to ever sue veterans & make massive cuts to veterans support funding. I live in Manitoba, definitely number 10 lol and the winters are worse than described, but the amount of beautiful parks and lakes we have would place us 2nd or 3rd in that category. Also we have the highest homicide rate in Canada.

The number let in needs to coincide logistically with the availability of benefits, housing, and what the jobs markets need.\n\nPoliticians are negligent when they raise false expectations just to make themselves look good. Be honest and clear about the requirements to get a work visa, claim asylum, or become a citizen.

USA is a better country than Canada when it comes to job opportunities/businesses. My uncle, who is a chef, moved to Toronto and was struggling to find a job that would pay him well enough. He then moved to NY state and within one year he was able to open his own restaurant. His finance has increased by leaps and bounds and now he runs three restaurants and already became a US citizen. Immigration might be easier in Canada, but if you get a chance to work and live in the US, you'll reap much bigger rewards for the efforts you're willing to put there.

I am from the United States. I have advanced degrees. I am actively seeking a job in Canada to see if I would be happier there. The US may is great compared to a broken country, but not to other developed nations in my opinion. I wanted to see if the pros outweigh the cons in Canada. Yep sadly a country of immigrants because of our governments, us Canadians don't have programs neither get much help, nope the Canadian governmement prefers immigrants to his own people don't care much of the native people either who would grandly need help and support. So next time think of all the luck you have when you come in my country because you have more luck and support than we do.

I will be leaving Canada within a year or so after declaring non-residency and bring my business with me. My view is that Canada is a good place to live a normal life. Healthcare covers your peace of mind, even if the waitlist is long and bureaucratic. Social benefit is not as generous as people suggest sometimes (at least in Canada unless you're on actual welfare where you can't work but you can't rise your way up easily and you're forever stuck in 1.5k CAD/month... which would be ofc much better than other struggling countries but immigrants often aspire for greater things than that. \n\nEven though I was an Asian immigrant, I never faced significant racism afaik (I could be socially naive however), but there are definitely limitations of opportunities. It's not too difficult to find entry to intermediate jobs, at least for me but that's probably because I did schooling here in Canada. And I was able to network aggressively and learned to be an extrovert, so that also helped. But still, Canadian living cost is high (and I'm saying this from Calgary... imagine what it's like in Vancouver/Toronto). Is it doable? Ofc. 50-70k CAD/year is quite doable ESPECIALLY in Calgary, Alberta. But it'd be difficult to achieve financial independence and true wealth. This is true everywhere ofc but more so in Canada compared to, say, USA where living cost is lower and wage is higher with more opportunities. It's a great place to live normally. If you wanna become exceptional (wealth, customized goods and services, etc), it become harder and costs more. \n\nEven now when I now own business after struggling to get here over 10 years that generates income that I need to achieve financial freedom, tax becomes frightfully bad. Alberta (that imposes lowest tax rate compared to other Canadian provinces (not including territories for obvious reason) is comparable to California in USA that is among the highest in all US states. And let's be real; Alberta is nowhere close of being California. Imagine the taxes in BC/Ontario shiver. \n\nOnce my tax rate becomes high enough to justify moving, I will pull the trigger. Still window-shopping where I wanna go and I have some lists but it's gonna happen especially as Canada will have to deal with their struggling economy, further distancing from US and their government mismanagement that continues to cost the society. I will not have any part in it. I may come back once in a while for visit or potentially retire depending on what the future looks like but right now, I just don't see my longterm future here.

Nice summary of the main challenges. Reading some of these comments leads me to believe that if one is motivated solely by money, Canada is not a great choice for you as an immigrant. The number of commenters hoping to move to the US from Canada due to greater opportunities to make money while ignoring the real and substantial disadvantages of living south of the borders just emphasizes this. My family are immigrants from the US and we didn’t face the same challenges as immigrants from countries further afield but I do understand the differences between the two countries very well and can state unequivocally that moving to Canada was the best decision our family made. Lower crime, better health care (yes even with the wait times), a fairer system and a “boring” but sane political system more than compensate for the few extra dollars I would make south of the border. In terms of where better prospects going forward for children and grandchildren, with the looming threat of climate change, Canada wins hands down. Extra income means little if you have to spend all of it on personal security and health care deductibles. So if you are only motivated by top line items like gross annual salary, Canada might not be for you and you would be better off looking elsewhere and leaving that immigration spot open to someone who can appreciate the more balanced offering that a new life and future in Canada can offer.

I'm currently planning to immigrate to Canada. As for me, the very reason why I want to move there is to have better life. There are some great points mentioned to this video but for some cases, most especially if you talk about other underpriviledge countries, Canada is much more better. I'm from the Philippines and I would say that our country is suffering from everything. High price of goods, salary for CAD375 minimum (for a month even you're bachelor degree holder), no health benefits (unless you are working in a private company that offers benefits), no educational benefits (I would consider scholarship but that wouldn't enough to survive in every semester that you'll take). Senior Citizens / PWD that only gets benefit from their 20% discount in every purchase they make for medicine and food and seniors sometimes didn't get their pensions... so on and so forth.\n\nI think, it all boils down from what country you came from and differences of the gov't system that they have. And all of us needs to work hard to get a better life. It will always depends on our decision on what lifestyle do you choose or how do you live your life or what life do you want to live.\n\nBut to conclude this, this is a great video. This a great heads up for those who wants to come to Canada.

Thanks for the great video, i would like to know. As the main applicant, once the COPR letter has been issued and the single entry visa issued. Do I as the main applicant fly to Canada and get the PR or does my entire family fly and each get PR? as we are intending to finish the process but fly to Canada get the PR and return to finish things up before the big move. Do all of us have to fly and get the PR or can I as the main applicant to it on behalf of my family, or does it only apply to me as my family is part of my application. I have been living here for 28 years (that’s most of my life, I came her as a young child). My sister’s and I have experienced first hand racism due to our hijab in elementary school, high school, after 9-11 during job interviews (myself and my brothers due to their name being Muhammed). Over time things have gotten better alhumdolillah but racism exists everywhere and many have experienced it. Where there are people that use racial slurs or acts of discrimination etc, there are many more that will support you and guide you. I love Canada and wouldn’t live anywhere else but to say it’s not there and every case is dealt with the way it was dealt with our London family, is not the case. If it was, what happens with them would not have happened. May Allah help us treat one another with tolerance and love as Islam intends it to be. I'm sure the intent of this video was to be fun, buts as a Canadian I would like people to know that it's not always cold here. We have four seasons. Most of the population lives in cities that are near the border with the US and have very similar climates to the northern states below them. I do not see Americans as friends to Canada. we have had a softwood lumber dispute for 30 years now. Canada has different laws which Americans will never accept. when it comes to trade, Americans are not Free Trade or Fair Trade but Trade domination to eliminate competition. Boeing cried about Bombardier and secured a 200% tariff, while the Canadian company has no products to compete against Boeing....\n\nCanada still suffers from tariffs on our steel and Aluminum. \n\nAmericans are only friendly if Canada submits.... the latest NAFTA agreement saw Canada accepting American milk.... dumping into Canada at the expense of our farmers. The USA has an over supply of milk and rather than adjusting production to meet demand America is using Canada as a dumping ground.\n\nAmerican companies have come to Canada and destroyed many Canadian companies, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, Costco to name a few. these companies push very hard American products while ignoring Canadian suppliers. In no way would the US ever allow such a concentration of foreign businesses to take control of their economy. \n\nThe USA has been the only nation to violate Canadian Sovereignty.\n\nThousands of Canadians have died to protect the USA, but I can find no American who has died to protect Canada.\n\nCanada has fought in many American wars.\n\nCanada has supported the US during its many hurricanes.... I do not see Americans supporting Canada.\n\nIt must be noted that the USA has the largest military force in the world, yet they always ask for other nations to help them in wars. \n\nthe only nation to invoked Article 5 of NATO has been the USA... Canada responded and assisted America.\n\nThe USA is not a friend really, friends do not treat their partner with such disrespect. \n\nBut hey, Americans flood to Canada to buy lower cost medicines rather that fix their own systems.

If Indians went back collectively to India from US and left all leadership positions in American companies, you will have at least a 30% drop in your economic metrics. That will result in lower per capita income. So in a way, we are the reason you have a moderate income, no matter which industry/sector you work in. Some might even say that these two people would have hated one another. Yet despite their differences, the Samaritan chose to love his neighbor. Even though the neighbor wasn’t really his neighbor at all. Our neighbor isn’t just the person next door. Our neighbor is the person God has placed right in front us. And no matter how different, how inconvenient or how unexpected, we’re asked to love our neighbor well. 1 corinthians 13:4-8 tells us Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

Really useful video..we are also looking for moving to Canada. Since study permit is very costly we are also looking for express entry. We heard that if we are below 30year age it's easy to get through express entry process. Is age a criteria? You’ve been in an English speaking country for awhile. So why do you need to communicate via Spanish? You should’ve learned the language by now. That’s the biggest thing, if you want to be a American or Canadian then learn the language. \n\nI’m Latin and my father n uncles hated going places in the US and another Latin would speak Spanish to them. Like dude I was born in Canada and my parents are immigrints who came legally so I can tell you my side. A non biast side. I wish yall would try with racism on Homeless people. Im Homeless, and yet i get messed with. My friend is Black im White, him and i went to an apt. Rental place a year ago were both on disability. We said we were looking for a two bedroom. They told us we dont help people on disability look for an apt. They said we couldnt afford it anyway. Plus transunion eqafax, experian, ruined my life . I was working sense i was 15 years old i had Emaculate credit, they destroyed it. Your Bank was your credit now theirs these three nightmare companies, that keep doing it. I also paid people to fix it but it happened again and again. Now i cant get an apt or car those companies that help you with credit that isnt even yours because my idendtity was stolen. Those companies work with transunion, equafax, experian. It makes me sick !!

Very well done! In Canada we are not really patriotic, we love being canadian but we ca speak more freely against it then in the US. We are more free in general because of the global safety. The culture is not only related to money. And lastly we are more aware or interested in the rest of the world. That being sais the last 4 years had destroyed the american brand, so I hope that Canadian way of living will rub off on the US so it would create a more stable and better world.
