I counted eight people running out of the vehicle and not one gave two shits to check on me, even though I was injured. Seven of them got away the only one they caught was a 14 year old Honduran child that claimed amnesty. So vehicle which they stole, which had stolen license plate, and apparently was full of stolen tools all was seized. The owners will be lucky if they get anything back since it is being held as evidence. I was told by My Attorney chances are my insurance will not pay me in full for my vehicle. Also, I only have a few payments on my car left, and I’m forced to pay it even though now I have no vehicle to get to work, because all my equity is tied up in it, funny thing is I recognize this kid from one of the jobsites down the street. They literally beat me in a bid on. Mind you only buy $400 differences I’m having to pay taxes it’s a joke when you say these people take jobs and no one else wants thing is it’s not jobs no one else wants it’s jobs that have become jobs. No one wants because of the pay continues to fall prices continue to increase, everyone thinks he’s illegal immigrants make no money on these jobsites most of them have nicer vehicles and live in nicer places than the guys I know. The Democrats who are used to vote for because I thought they were for the workingman have completely switched. They want a global economic system in which we have to compete with people that are willing to do the same work as us for a little less because they don’t have to pay what we have to pay and they go back to their countries and live like kings where our dollar buys a lot. They literally use their influence and corruption to take down Trump‘s administration because he was actually doing something about America’s problems. What a damn shame it’s time to change the system. If you’re not voting for a Bernie Sanders or Trump you might as well not voted off because you will get no change. Frankly, I think Bernie Sanders is a terrible choice, but it beats Joe Biden, because at least Bernie Sanders does care. Trump 4 more years!!!!

I’m Lebanese , i applied for work permit 1.5 year ago, got approved a month ago and got my visa 2 weeks ago( for Edmonton, Alberta). My hourly wage is 16.46$ before tax. I’ve calculated my cost of living ( rent, food, transportation, etc.. ) It was acceptable back then . When i applied earlier , it was my dream to come to canada. I’ve struggled a lot to get the visa and I’ve booked a flight that was supposed to be next week , but honestly things have differ from when I’ve applied. I used to see affordable housing and cost of living, not anymore. Things have changed there, from cost to living to rents to increased crime rate ( it’s even higher and more tragical than Lebanon itself in his worst current situation) and so on and so forth. I’ve literally canceled everything and I’m not even regretting my decision.\n\nWorking on a slight above minimum wage, in a weather that’s -20+ for long months just to be in ‘CANADA’ and live from paycheck to paycheck isn’t going to seduce me honestly.

Canada has been run into the ground by government after government for 40 or 50 years now. Every level of government in Canada serves itself at the expense of the people paying taxes. All government employees have unshakeable job security, unbelievable benefits and pensions, and a total lack of accountability of any kind. Debt has been run up over this period continuously at every government level. In spite of the huge taxes, government continues to borrow ever more money to serve itself.\nI wrote a letter to then Prime Minister Brian Mulroney decades ago asking why the government was continuously running deficits and how did he expect to pay for it all? All I got back in response was a bull$hit form letter. The US is very lenient towards immigration and has many processes in place to facilitate it. Canada should put a limit to number of refugees they can accept. We can do our part but we can’t openly let anyone in. I grew up in Canada much of my life. My family immigrated to Ontario more\nThan 30 years ago , where the cost of living was manageable and health care was excellent, minimum wage was $6/ hr but you can still save and buy a house in Ontario. Cost of living increases yearly while income stays relatively the same. Post pandemic the cost of living is outrageous, particularly now in Nova Scotia. The last province where you could buy your dream home on the beach/ocean for 80K-200K. Now it’s impossible to fine affordable housing so people are forced to live in shares accommodation in tiny apartments / home. The highest tax on your income and plus taxes on goods/services. \n\nI also agree on the depression and loneliness and boredom … you do have to put effort if you want a social life. \n\nHaving said this, living in small rural towns is very peaceful if you want to live a low key life and just be with nature. \n\nOn the plus side. The summer here is short but very beautiful with long daylight (sunrise at 6am and sunset at 9:30-10pm depending where you live). \n\nWinter is the hardest if you are a tropical kinda person who loves the sun and heat. Best solution is to stay in Canada for summer and live elsewhere in the winter.

Everything is currently broken: Rent is off the roof, houses are completely unfordable (whether getting a down payment, or actually paying mortgages of 350000 minimum in Montreal for instance/~2500 per month). Pharmacy shelves for basic stuff like Advil are empty and some people need to drive to the US to get their kids fever and pain medication.
