I’m in tears. Mr. Trudeau, thank you for supporting the US citizens as we try to figure out what we can do to get our friends back. I’d give anything to be a Maple Leaf if I can’t have my country back. I love Canada because they’ve always welcomed me. The people are freaking amazing and kind. I love our allies because we look out for each other. Canada, Mexico, Europe, Ukraine, etc., the American people love you and don’t want this insanity - not just liberal-minded people like me, but most all of us. Love to you all!

Well said. I love the USA, I have relatives who live there and in all the years of a beautiful relationship with the people of America I have never seen this situation. Mr. Trump you seem to want to conquer and divide relationships at any cost, even with people who care about you. You sabotage yourself and those who are loyal to you. I'm not sure if you understand the implications of your decisions. But I will say respectfully, there are no winners in a trade war, nor is it you that has the final say on the worlds outcome. This is God's world not yours and not ours. I'm really disappointed to see American people and Canadians hurting because of whatever the point of all of this means. But Canada is strong and we will stand up for our country. The American people are strong and they were strong before you became the President. Working together, we can take care of each other for our families and our country.

I have never felt more proud to be a Canadian, it’s a good feeling, I was almost brought to tears earlier thinking about it. And it’s interesting to note that it is overriding the fear of the consequences of Donald’s actions. Here’s where I can’t help but think of you, our fellow North Americans. The good people of the USA, I hold you in my heart. For you don’t have that boost that comes from feeling proud of your country. I can’t say I’ve ever known what that is like. He only cares about himself. If you do not have the fight that comes from being proud of your country, you guys are gonna be easy pickings. Do everything you can to find pride in your country. The US gives $200 billion yearly to Canada. U.S. banks are not allowed to do business in Canada, but yet we allow their banks in the US...by the way LOOK IT UP. i live in Canada and i do not agree with what Justin Trudeau is doing. We SHOULD back down from fighting! This is a war we cannot win.❤ Most people in Canada want Justin out of office. Why are some commentators still talking about fentanyl & immigration as if it has anything to do with whats going on. a psychotic, narcissistic loon who hasn't the faintest clue about government, whose ambition is self enrichment and whose instincts are sel aggrandizement has been elected to the leadership of a country where his unique combination of idiocy, incompetence, insanity, deranged maliciousness and need to exact vengeance on those he feels failed to defer to him sufficiently (or just randomly, to assert himself) can do the most damage. Sure Trump is a fascist, but he's much, much worse: He is totally insane. What do the congressional Republicans tell their children, families and friends about why they're bowing to a clear and dangerous psychooath utterly devoid of human decency ? How do they explain their snivelling deference to a once in a millennia loonatic of these proportions. He's not only, obviously and blatantly imposing hardship on the most vulnerable Americans for personal gain, he is destroying US influence and respect globally. As a Kamala voter and as an American who loves Canada, I apologize for the hideous manner in which my government is treating our neighbor and ally. I will be protesting and doing what I can to stop Trump and Musk from destroying our democracy and our friendships around the world. I wish Canada all the prosperity and health possible in the future and I hope someday you will be able to forgive our nation for the damage that the idiots running this country are causing for you and many other of our allies as well, with their ignorant tariffs and bullying tactics. The gaslighting the world is displaying is unbelievable. The moment America starts to look out for itself, like a toxic partner or lover, the world is responding by making us look like the problem. Not the people who have taken advantage of us. We have been the world's savior for 100 years, where is the gratitude? Trump is trying to end a war it’s not the same thing. We don’t need Canada if you haven’t been to America then you don’t know. We can make whatever you can make and better we can grow anything and more then you can just bc of regional weather. How will you feel next year when you need two dollars to buy what one dollar buys now? And plan on having fewer dollars to start with because your carbon tax, your sales tax, your income tax are all going up. WAY up. This is what happens when you decide to compete with a USA that is unshackled. The USA can produce more of our own oil than we can use, and we will sell the extra to YOUR foreign customers cheaper than you can produce it. Then you will be BEGGING for a pipeline. So Trump invited Canada to become a member of the most successful and powerful union of sovereign states in history, something that even our own territories of Guam, Puerto Rico, and all the others do not have. An invitation to be a bona fide member. Why do you think that is? Minerals? The USA has all the minerals we need. We have more oil, coal, and natural gas than any nation also, and we can produce and refine it cheaper than any country can. So Canada was invited to become a state so Trump could peacefully eject the ChiComs from North America. And did you accept? No. Did you say no thank you? No. You gave us the finger and said f&$k you to Trump. We hear you Canada. But now is not the time for pain, that comes later.

Trump is a horrible, horrible human. I am devastated over what he is doing. I've never once given Trump my vote and I'm not a lefty liberal. I knew if he was voted in he was going to cause world wide chaos. He has shown his character over and over and over...yet a large portion of American's just ignored it. This election wasn't about republicans or democrats or independents. This election was about humanity and global security. American's ignored the writing on the wall for their own singular wants/opinions. They stand with their Trump flags but only a few of them can actually explain any accurate information about his policy or legal issues and they condone his behavior. The majority of Trumpers claim to be 'Christians'. Christians voting for a man who is a bully, abuser, liar, predator, monger of power, impedes freedom of press and speech and aligns himself with a dictator. He pardoned violent offenders and called them patriotic, spouts false information, obstructs investigations, has numerous felony charges against him and has now made enemies with our allies. Shall I go on? That's not Christian. Even if you aren't Christian...that's not what America stands for. All for what...eggs? Guns? Cheaper groceries? Or because your need for hating a small group of people out weighs global peace. Or is it because you are so short sighted that you can't even see the valuable contribution that non American born people provide this country. Yes, Biden fell asleep at the wheel. I’m not particularly a savvy political person, but even I could see this coming. Trump/Musk have chosen to start a war against our own people & isolating us from allies & neighbors is a particularly bad move. Who will defend us against Russian aggression when we have no allies & friends left. And make no mistake-this fits right into Putin’s plans. If The US is no longer able to stand against him, who will? It has been a balance of power that has kept democracy flourishing and given Americans so much freedom & prosperity. Wow, how quickly you all seem to forget. We have been paying them large amounts for years and we as Americans have been paying for it with our taxes. We are angry - with those people who ignorantly voted for Trump and those people who chose not to vote. Not the people who chose to vote democratically to remain a democratic country. We are clear that his real agenda is to use this trade war to attempt to coerce us into becoming the 51st state. For MANY reasons, we will not EVER become part of Trump’s America. We will collectively fight in any way possible, even though we know it will be tough, to prevent it. We also know that there is a bigger picture in that it’s clear that Trump is aligned with Putin in the push to destroy democracy globally in favour of an authoritarian world order that benefits only the ultra rich. Canada, the Ukraine, Greenland and Panama are stepping stones to that end goal.
