I am absolutely outraged what Trump is doing. We the People of the United States as A Democrat never Voted for a Felon to the Whitehouse. Trump wanted to be President so he wouldn’t do Time. \nHe won’t even disclose what is in the Epstein Files because he was part of it. He had these young girls at Mar O Lago. \nI STAND WITH UKRAINE, PALESTINE, CANADA, MEXICO AND ALL EUROPEAN LEADERS TO STAND UP TO TRUMP AND HIS IDIOTIC VICE PRESIDENT WHO WAS NOTHING BUT A WAR PHOTOGRAPHER AND DID NO COMBAT FIGHTING HE OVER FLATED HIS MILITARY RECORD. AS A FORMER NAVY CORPSMAN DEPLOYED TO OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM AND OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOMS I SAW WHAT ROLE EVERYONE PLAYED. WE CAN PROTECT OURSELVES AND THE UNIT BY FIRING OUR WEAPONS BUT WILL NEED TO GIVE LIFE SAVING CARE. \nTrump Needs to see how he is treating leaders in these countries and I tell Canada Turn the Power off in New York and any other State to prove a point and charge leaders an exorbitant amount of money for using Fuel from Canada.

Canada, the American people don't want this and a lot of Trump supporters didn't want this either. I'm sorry that y'all too have to suffer and deal with a man that doesn't lead your country. They worked on Project 2025 for 4 years and now it's all falling into place. OMG! What are we going to do?

What's it about? It's about money. It's about a gangster family in the Whitehouse, and oligarchs in the administration, all trying to make as much money as possible. There's no other explanation possible. That's the only explanation that comes close to making any sense. Now more than ever, even if these tariffs are short-lived, Canada needs to move away from U.S. trade. This is necessary for the long term survival and prosperity of Canada. We need to make every effort to increase trade with the pacific rim, Europe and South America. There may be some short-term pain, but it has to happen. Given the events of the last few years in the U.S., Canadians have to realize that things can get even worse, and will likely never be the same. There is very little reason to believe that the ties Canada has had with the U.S. will ever be what they were, or indeed any reason to believe that that is even desirable now.

How about the guns and fentanyl that is imported to Ontario, Canada by American criminals? Our Prime Minister did not mention that, only because he is not about tit for tat. But hey, I have nothing to lose except for half my family in the States. You guys need to educate your children so they understand how good we have it or how good we did have it. I agreed with everything Trudeau said, except when he said Trump is a very smart person. Stupid is what stupid does. Trump does stupid like no other. This is Canada's time to shine. We need our pipelines flowing to both the East and West coasts. Canada should do everything in its power to reduce its dependence on the USA for trade and security to protect itself from a Trump administration gone crazy. There is a chance that the current policies of the Trump administration will be carried forward by future Republican presidents given how the party is now dominated by MAGA people. We all need to consider the possibility that the USA will not be going back to normal anytime soon.

Canada has known for decades that we have put too many eggs in one basket - selling our resources primarily to the USA. We've had tariffs before and worked with them. Yet we still keep selling to the USA. This time is different. In conjunction with the tariffs, we have an American administration that is flat out insulting Canada. Saying we wouldn't exist economically if it wasn't for the USA. It's at a time when the USA won't promise not to use military force to annex land (Greenland) from a decades old ally. A time when clearly Putin is calling in his chips for whatever he has over Donald Trump. Canadians have had enough. We are directing our governments, provincial and federal, to finally, finally break from the north-south trade links. We need to establish stronger east-west trade links. The resources we have are wanted by many countries if the USA does not want them. It does mean much work within Canada. We need to get our AB-BC pipeline finished as well as the new sea terminal so we can ship our crude oil and natural gas to Japan and if need be, to China. We finally need to get out pipeline to the Atlantic coast finished so we can supply the UK and EU with our products. We need to double our rail capacity for shipping potash, uranium, rare minerals to Asia or Europe. Just as Trump hopes for a golden age of American companies coming home and building new plants in the USA, this will be a golden decade for Canada to create transportation corridors to get our resources to other buyers. America will have to look elsewhere for his raw materials. And we all know what that is - RUSSIA. They've already offered their rare minerals and crude oil. This is all clearly a well thought out scenario from the people working behind Trump to dismiss America's allies and trading partners - have us turn against the USA - as the excuse to open the door to Russian imports into the USA.

What we in the UK need to see urgently are messages of Support for Canada from all sides of the House in Parliament. Trump is trying to stab Canada in the back, and Canada needs all the support she can get.

So Trump invited Canada to become a member of the most successful and powerful union of sovereign states in history, something that even our own territories of Guam, Puerto Rico, and all the others do not have. An invitation to be a bona fide member. Why do you think that is? Minerals? The USA has all the minerals we need. We have more oil, coal, and natural gas than any nation also, and we can produce and refine it cheaper than any country can. We will take your products, join the EU and have free access to our markets at a discount. Who cares? Seriously Of course he's upset. Canada relies heavily on the U.S., with about 75% of its exports going to America, making us a major contributor to their GDP. Instead of making other countries richer, we should focus on manufacturing and building here at home. This would keep more money circulating in the U.S., boosting economic growth and strengthening our own GDP. A stronger domestic economy means more jobs, higher wages, and greater financial stability for Americans. Regardless of who’s president, we need fair trade policies that benefit the U.S. just as much as our partners.
