I was the lawyer invited to this interview, and after reading some comments celebrating the end of the PEQ, I feel the need to clarify a few things. The people affected by this are not “abusing the system.” this was the program for people that came here legally and are working. To qualify for the PEQ, they had to be working full time, they pay taxes, they speak the language. They’re fixing our roads, keeping hospitals running, welding, machining, doing the jobs most of us take for granted every single day. The hard truth is that Canadians have stopped having enough children, and we simply don’t have enough young people with the skills to fill these roles. Yes, we absolutely should invest more in education and trade programs for our youth — my employer clients are begging young people to become mechanics, welders, skilled workers, often in the regions. Most don’t take those jobs, and even when they do, training takes two to three years. Our industries need people now, or parts of the economy will stall, and that affects all of us as Quebecers and Canadians. These workers are not asking for charity. They are already on the front lines keeping key sectors alive. Ending programs like the PEQ doesn’t punish “illegals” or “free riders”; it punishes people who are already integrated, working, and contributing to the society we all share. Also, all they are asking is for the new rules to not be applied to them retroactively, only for those coming new into the country, otherwise it is rug pulling those already here that played by the rules, and when the government does it to us we don't like, on principle of fairness, whatever you think of the numbers, too high too low, doesn't matters, it is the least we can all get behind as humans.

Listen, immigration has always been a strength in this country but bringing millions of immigrants at the same time into a country made no sense. Trudeau's government should be ashamed but they'll never take responsibility for their mistakes. Now everything is messed up and it's going to take years to fix. I don't think people in general have issues with people coming, it's the rate in which the government is allowing it to happen. When you think about it, this is treasonous to the people of Canada. This is happening at varying scales in many cities all over the US as well. Growing up in the 90s and 00s in suburban Minneapolis, we had a very small population of Indians. About ten years ago, they built a large all new subdivision near my hometown that is now 90% Indian. Target Corporate is to blame for the initial push, as they opened an office in India and then had many of them relocating to the Minneapolis office. A recent trip to Dallas, every Uber I took was an Indian or Middle eastern driver. California, especially the Bay Area has an enormous Indian community as well.

All 5hitty ppl with crimial background are being handed over visas as if it free-for-all thing. This has to change. There should be serious filtering done before giving visas. My girlfriend lives in Brampton, it’s a really nice city and I’ve always felt welcome there as a white guy dating a Punjabi woman. In the meantime, my family and I are struggling to pay for the international tuition of a future surgeon and engineer, and our migration process has been delayed due to the actions of many fraudulent individuals who have destroyed the entire system. Immigration is a scam. There's very little, if any, economic benefit from immigration, and what benefit there is has been shown to almost always be captured by those who hired immigrants and the immigrants themselves, while passing on all the economic, social, and environmental burdens to our poor communities. Let's face it, immigration is a transfer of money from labor to capital it's about 3 things: profit, power, and punishment. We need to have an immigration moratorium. We also need to focus on re-migration for those who do not assimilate. Of course, none of this will happen until immigration becomes a problem for those at the top who have been pushing it down our throats for decades.

That said, there have been far too many immigrants in the last decade, regardless of origin. I've lived in my small town in BC for 37 years and somehow I cannot get a family doctor (I visit all of the local clinics annually and am on the provincial waiting list) while a lot of newer residents seem to have a doctor within months of moving here. I am glad I bought my house when I did, I would not be able to afford one today. I am not against legal immigration, just slow it down so the infrastructure can support it and properly vet those who apply. The system for deportment currently employed in the US is far too hastened and imperfect for my liking but the lack-of-a-system (or heck, acknowledgement) that this is even an issue by the current and previous Canadian governments is equally as concerning (arguably more, other folks can debate the politics of it).

My grandparents immigrated here from Jamaica and certain groups have made the word immigration annoying and obnoxious now. I came as student in 2013 I am now Canadian from past 5 years. I just want to mention government is to blame for They earned so much money from international students. I studied with Ukrainian Chinese Mexican and Russian students . They weren't good in English as well But they all worked very hard and very dedicated. Initially it was difficult find job they asked young students for Canadian experience which obviously none of the students had Ircc is laziest department. Even college cares about fees only. Because if student leave the college they don't get back the fees. So they are absolutely fine with this kind of fraud. .and private college are worst among everything. God! Please, i don,t want help from this medical personal..... I don,t understant 70% of his indian english. What WHY, i did switch dental office in my area, because, owner( specialist from india) , ALL dentist assistants from the same country, 99% patients from the same country( india). It saddens me for what this country has become. When I first came here, I saw the potential of what I could do in this country but that is not the case anymore. I, amongst many immigrants from India, try every bit possible to assimilate in the society and believe me we have, almost at par with Canadian values. However, post-covid, everyone seems to judge every east Indian on the same grounds as outlined by the speakers in this video. My opinion is, people who do not respect the laws and traditions of this country should go back to their countries (regardless of who they are) and do all your propaganda there especially all the international ones.
