The big problem is that Canada increased immigration without having the infrastructure for them. Immigrants tend to move to major populations like Toronto, Vancouver, etc because there are typically more jobs, so these towns had their numbers increase faster than our social net could handle. Add in long-term Governmental reductions in spending on things like housing, healthcare, education with more people to service, and you end up with the housing crisis and inflation that we have.\n\nI understand why immigration was pushed; it was partially because people are collateral on the world stage. The larger your population, the more a country can borrow because you have more people to pay back those loans through taxation. It should work ... As long as you have the infrastructure to support the new citizens.\n\nImmigration needs to be dramatically reduced from current levels for a few years while we work to get up to speed for the populace we have.

I'm doing just fine in Canada, where I've lived my whole life except for 7 years in Japan. Any difficulties people having comes down to the individual, not a systematic national problem. My rent in Vancouver is under $1000, because I haven't moved in 11 years. I have no debt, no car, no expensive lifestyle, no drug habit. I made good choices. Nothing is going to change as long as people vote for the established parties. Dominant politicians are not interested in transformational change. Same things are happening in New Zealand. The problem of Canada is not migration or international students. International students bring millions of dollars to the country. They pay fees 3 times higher than local students. The problem is the economy, provinces, municipalities, private sector and professional newcomers are unable to build houses, apartments and provide services for more than 1 million of newcomers per year. The economy is completely closed to international companies, engineers, doctors. There are big monopolies who regulate and rule the market in association with a WOKE socialist government. This is why Canada doesn’t grow and isn’t able to provide services. It’s more like a third world country , banana republic or failed state.

Other problem is that a lot of people try to get a work in the service area, instead of help the growth of the primary and secondary sector, things that truly produce growth of a country. \n \nOther thing, the frame of the debate most not to be only in order of unskilled and skilled workers. ''Must to be in order of people who need for specific occupations in order of the demand work-force', EEUU have a lot of skilled workers and they don’t have a job. Sell a fake promise to the skilled workers of other part of the world is not correct.\n\nA lot of skilled worked come to Canada each year, and everybody can see them working in a McDonald or washing dishes in restaurants.

No one can solve the border problem at the border. The solution is at the home countries of the refugees. Lift them out of poverty, that’s the only solution. If China had not lifted 800 million out of poverty, the world would be awash with Chinese refugees. Lifting a country out of poverty took China only one generation.
