I think everybody is missing a point here if you went in and you had already transitioned.I don't think there should be any problem with serving your country as I am a former veteran. I think what they are saying is that transitioning while you are in the service and taking time away from being readily available for a chosen procedure, it is not military readiness. How is this difficult to understand?

Was all 20 years of “her” service as a transgender, if not, then her case has no ground to stand on, because its even worse for the soldiers around “her” to have to deal with that shit. No place for transgenders in the military, cause now they’re asking to be included, next they’ll be crying about their own toilettes and barracks and everything else. You can gather tens of thousands of people to illegally invade a country but you’re telling me these same folks can’t put their heads together to build themselves a town. Or to gather in front of their politicians house and clean out their corruption in their country. Or to formulate a deal with some other country’s so they can get some funding to startup opportunities in their own communities. This fits Trump's narrative too well. CNN coverage has changed since ownership switched hands. We knew it would be gradual perceptive switch but it has indeed fallen from the standards of the past. People are misunderstanding the problem here. It is not about returning migrants, its about the US just flying a military plane into foreign territory and dumping people. The president offered up his plane because he wants the deportees to go through commercial flights. If Colombia just flew a jet up and dumped a ton of cocaine on the tarmac of LAX it would be unacceptable, same deal here.

Trump is using military aircraft to deport immigrants. That is the issue. If they sent them on commercial flights like it has been done for years, there wouldn't be a problem. Countries protect their sovereignty.

VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS INCOMPLETE REPORTING: The President of Colombia clearly said he would accept deportees IF they arrive on a passenger plane as has always been done and which costs less than half of the expense of a military plane. The problem is the United State’s insistence on using military planes. I swear folks, it’s just getting started: threatening to invade Panama, the closest ally in Latin America, threatening the prime minister of Denmark, a historic ally. No offense, since I don’t know if you guys drink coffee or not, but You do realize other countries export to the US. Have never heard of Guatemalan, Brazil, Peru, Marrocan, Ethiopia, Belgium, Costa Rican coffee? Arab countries etc. They all make great coffee. Coffee is not only from Colombia. The only problem I could see is they can’t produce enough . Which I doubt. And I’m sure African countries or other countries can under cut prices if others try to inflate prices just to get market share in the US. \n\nAlthough, coffee prices are not only determined by supply and demand. Country of origin and brand also plays a role. Like I said it’s like wine. I love my cheap Washington State Merlots and my Italian Chianti, but people still buy over price California and French wine .

Why is it a problem entering the U.S. legally? \nDoesn’t anyone respect the U.S. law? Every country has laws.\nThe U.S. citizens don’t take things for granted. That’s why the U.S. is trying to enforce the U.S. law and stop the forced entry. The invasion is taking the U.S. for granted. If they don’t respect the law what makes you think forced entry is going to abide by the law.

When I read all of this, I'm damn glad that I'm German and that I've managed to build something for myself. Even if not everything is perfect here, the health care and social security are better than in many countries. Unfortunately, our problem is that too many people are now being allowed in here who pay nothing, absolutely nothing, into the social systems, but only benefit from it. Twenty years ago things looked better here.

Controversial but I will say it, Canada is a FRENCH country with English as its second major language. No others language is as prominent, So if you are sure that a brown person is an IMMIGRANT and they can’t even speak ENGLISH properly let alone French, 99% chance he/she is a problem in your country and does labour work.

As an NRI I honestly don't see what the problem is with this and if anything more stringent measures should be put in place. Look at the state of Canada. I think the Canadian government needs to be a little more careful with the type of immigrants that enter the country. I don't see it as a problem to have Chinese, Japanese, Indians and other people immigrating to Canada. But I think it is also necessary to attract more people from Europe to live in the country. I was born and raised in Canada and last august I left to move to the Czech Republic. If you’ve ever been there you’ll know it’s not the cheapest country and I live in the most expensive city. I still am able to afford to live off my not so high salary of an English teacher. I wouldn’t be able to afford living away from my parents in Canada, I’m not saying it’s been easy or cheap, I have 6 roommates and my rent is over 50% of my monthly salary. I had to take out a loan from my parents to afford all the visa fees and hidden costs of moving to another country. However if I had stayed in Canada I would have been earning less because I couldn’t find a job in my field. I am filled with rage about the governments decisions to mess up the country like they have. And yes we have an immigration problem but they are not the problem, it’s the government. My mother was an immigrant to Canada, and yes she’s doing okay right now but things have changed a lot since she immigrated and how Canada is now.

If you guys have no any interest in following the rules, integrate into both society and culture of the host country, then you should better stay in India and fight for it if it really is the greatest country in the world as you say. I'm doing just fine in Canada, where I've lived my whole life except for 7 years in Japan. Any difficulties people having comes down to the individual, not a systematic national problem. My rent in Vancouver is under $1000, because I haven't moved in 11 years. I have no debt, no car, no expensive lifestyle, no drug habit. I made good choices. Others have not.\n\nCanada is still a land of opportunity if you get a job, get your vaccines, live within your means and don't expect a 1950s style economy, anyone can do fine. Healthcare access needs improvement, but we had a pandemic. The whole world did. \n\nIf you feel like you can't make it in Canada, you have no one to blame but yourself. Everything is relative. I’m an international student, from my perspective it seems like the government can’t keep themselves from messing with the economy, basically crippling it by regulations, making the market unable to take advantage of the increased labor supply.\n\nI have spent almost half a million in Canada, which includes tuition, living cost, and starting a business which now employs two Canadians. But because I spent one term as a part time student, I have became ineligible for PGWP, which means I have no way of staying in Canada through my own agencies.\n\nThat is a slap in the face for immigrants whove come here to settle, the fact that I have positively contributed to the Canadian economy than many Canadians ever have, while withdrawing absolutely zero from public benefits, now if I buy a house here yall will drop on me a 50%+ capital gains tax and then kick me out, why would anyone want to invest in Canada? I’m seriously considering just moving to Florida because of all these. \n\nWhat happened to the good old days when you can come here with nothing, integrate into the community, and then become Canadians? Almost none of the forefathers of Canadians had to contribute this much into the society first to become Canadians, they stayed because their peers wanted them to stay, and the market was free to adjust to the labor supply and housing demand without government interference.\n\nWhat I see is not an immigration problem, it’s a big government problem, Canadians have become addicted to the government making decisions for them. The government has its grip on every aspect of Canadian life, it has hindered the responsiveness of the economy so much, that it cant even pivot to take advantage of free capital (int’l students) and third world labor rates (temp foreign workers).

Im a immigrant from the USA from irish/scottish descent, i have a PR and i agree with this deportation. As someone who is from the usa, the usa does not have an immigration problem. Canada does! If i get deported, i will be happy to leave if that means the bad actors who have invaded canada and ruined life for the citizens will be deported too.

Canada is building a tonne of housing as is, a bit less than in the past, so yes, issues with the growth of red tape, zoning, development taxes, etc should be addressed, but the problem has mainly been that the population has been growing at an exponential rate, in the past decade. The construction workforce actually doesn't have that many immigrants - around 77% are Canadian born, compared to 73% of the overall workforce, and I suspect the 23% that are immigrants are probably mostly immigrants that have been here a while, with very few temporary workers (which are mostly in retail/commercial services, elder care, and agriculture). That means immigration has been a bigger problem for increasing housing demand, compared to any benefit to increasing the supply through increasing construction workforce, especially when you consider that the size of the construction workforce is proportional to the total population, while the housing demand is more correlated to population growth. \n\nThere is also the differentiation between expanding infrastructure/housing supply, vs improving/maintaining it. It would not be a bad thing if we were able to shift some of the construction workforce towards improving our stormwater infrastructure, fixing roads, and building transit alternatives (improves quality of life), rather than just building more and more new roads and homes just to keep up with population growth (maintains quality of life).

So, who in Canada is going to step up and start the road to housing recovery? Will it be the lumber companies, who charge us more for our own wood than they do the Americans, Europeans and Chinese? Or how about the real estate speculator who HAS to double his profit with every deal so he can appease his greedy wife and spoiled brat kids? Oh, and NO LAND in BC or Ontario will ever be given over to affordable housing. That would be an oxymoron. Land is TOOOO valuable to give it over to NON-PROFIT housing. Fuck that. My kids ain't gonna grow up next to a housing slum. Or, how about the government??? They have the answers don't they? Isn't that why we elect them, put our trust in them, pay our fucking taxes to them?? What say, Government of Canada??? Are you going to step up and solve the problem or just keep giving the rich more incentive to crush the rest of us?? WTF!! Who is in charge and who really cares??? ANYONE??? Our Universities are heavily subsidized and Nurses and Doctors take advantage of this, If Trudeau/Pierre wants to stop our doctors and nurses who graduate going to the USA right after school, They should make them pay back the portion of their education that the taxpayers paid for and never received any healthcare from, It should be you have to work in Canada after graduating for 5 years before moving out of Canada, and if they do, then they pay around $150,000 to break the contract compounded with interest from when they started and finished university/college. I know someone who graduated Nursing in the 1990's, She went to a convention in Toronto, Where she was quickly swayed to move the USA, Its because Nursing here is a 3yr course in the USA its a 6 month course, they aren't educated nearly as much as Canadians, A Canadian nurse can be a GP in rural areas of the USA, Also the Nurse I know within a year was made head nurse of her ward, Bypassing USA Nurses that have been working at the hospital for 10+ years, due to the extra education, This is a big problem, we are educating Nurses and Doctors for the USA and other Nations funded by Taxpayers, Sure Nurses and Doctors do also pay some, but its closer to 1/3 of the actual cost, the other 2/3rd's is taxpayer funded. She's still working in the USA and still never helped 1 single Canadian. 30yrs later!!. I don't know about you, But I think this needs to be addressed and fixed once and for all.

I appreciate your take. I believe Canada's key issue is that it is facing a cultural decay, which is not exclusive to Canada. Many countries in the west are challenged by similar things such as aging populations and unaffordability. \n\nIt works in a cycle: governments and corporations take turns screwing over the general population and most people cannot afford anything. Corporation does A then government does B; government does X then corporation does Y. On the surface, government is _trying_ to do a good thing, but it backfires quite often, leaving the average person feeling scorned. \n\nChief among these corrective measures was mass immigration, and because there was already a climate of indignation, the introduction of too-many-immigrants was a huge slap in the face. Instead of making sure Canadians were better taken care of, the government responded to the corporations--not the people. \n\nGDP numbers mean nothing to the average Canadian person if their quality of life is in decline. The only people still in favour of mass immigration are those who do not have to confront it on a day-to-day basis. Even Canadian-born (or even Canadian Citizens of 5+ years) minorities, think the immigration problem is too much.
