As a Canadian, I have to say that I'm very proud that we are able to take so many immigrants. Our first Prime Minister was an immigrant. Our country was built on immigration. Ask yourself who built this country? Immigrants did. But with every wave of immigration comes prejudice. Irish, Ukrainians, Polish have all seen there share of prejudice. Now its brown people from Syria that escaped with the cloths off their back. Maybe you should be thankful for what you have, that you are able to live in a country where you dont have to worry about your fundamental freedoms.

who's fault is that?\nnonmuslims in muslim nations face actual discrimination and prejudice, lacking freedom of religion varying in many islamic nations\nWITHOUT them doing frequent problematic acts or against even the discriminative laws of the nation\n\nin the west? its secular state free for all religions or background , and most of the religious ones don't want to actually integrate and keep loyalty to the very conservative islamic teachings , and seek to change things (applying elements of sharia law and so on) when they can despite the problems it has created in its real world application, that are totally against the secular values of the west and many other nations\nthen we have the frequent islamist radical terror attacks, as well as the neighborhoods where they transform it to something far from secular\n\nand you're surprised with that? look at those muslim woman in the west got interviewed, burqas.. doesn't care about identification issue in public place, and (in this case, judging by the books actually works out) these are the kinds of muslims with the most conservative mindset, thus the woman clad themselves in ninja suit and the guys with long beards and islamic traditional clothings, those are the most conservative of them, far away from being or appreciating secular\ngiven the chance, 100% absolute assertion that these are the ones that will try to change things to be more islamic, in PUBLIC place as well (the religion is that, political islam and public enforcement based on islamic 7th century values is a common thing when they can)\n\nthe ones who are actually integrating are mostly the less religious, actually secular muslims. Well, you can say actually secular iranians, arabians, turks, and so on (as muslims normally refer to the religion, which is not secular at all)\nthose are the ones that do, the west has been giving stage and empower the wrong group of these people

why are all white people racist? Serious question. racism : prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior.

there is racism and prejudice everywhere. on every level no matter gender, race, religion, culture. etc. no matter where you go. but if these guys take a trip to any of those corrupted third world backwards countries they would see how good they really have it. us foolish americans canadians dont know how good we have it. we are living in the freest country nation and society ever seen in the history of the world. at least our country creates new laws every year to make our people feel safe. but other islamic countries continue following laws made in the 15th century. do you see and appreciate the difference.\n\nsure people will label you based off your skin tone and your demeanor. BUT WHY? because they have had bad history with those that look just like you. i have had REALLY REALLY bad experiences with asians in everything. so i naturally stay away from all asians and i do not trust them. HOWEVER, i feel when foreigners come to this country they ruin it for the rest of the citizens that are of similar foriegn race eventhough they were born there. WE NEED TO PUT OUR NATIONS CULTURES first. and thats what we have to teach everyone. we put our canada america pride priority and whatever culture we came from LAST. THATS WHY its best we learn to fix our people in a whole in our country before bringing in anymore foreigners who do not respect our nation. lets stop third world immigration and work on making our country great again. so we can stop all this crime in our neighborhoods. because it hinders our progress. once every race color ethnicity of people are acting right then we will have no prejudice based off color or even gender because everyone is giving everyone respect. but because CRIME IS HIGH in all foreign races, and we continue to disrespect eachother. nobody feels safe anymore. whether your light skinned white or black.

Take time to go back and discover the origin of some different prejudice. There are some surprising answers.

The difference between prejudice and racism:\nPrejudism involves negatively pre-judging people without getting to know them\nRacism involves a power dynamic where one person or group impedes another's access to services/resources based on race.

I know the past actions of people greatly influence lives today. As a citizen of Canada I think all of us have to accept each others culture and color..we can learn alot from each other!!Racism goes both ways..whites against blacks...black against white..this really has to stop so we can move on! Spending time in Jamaica I was seeing prejudice against white people. .I was in a club and the DJ picked me out of the black crowd and disrespected me..wasnt a good feeling!

we are not children why do people put something into everything we say......If you say something and anyone takes it as prejudice that does not mean you are prejudiced against anyone......we all have our quirks and the people that claim all of this usually take everything and analzye it ....instead of taking what is being said as just a comment.....there have been things said that I did not like but I do not say anything because everyone is entitled to their own opinions.......

I have some prejudice about certain people and topics and I stereotype of course. It's an automatic thing for humans to do. We immediately assess everything and anyone around us. That's normal. Now, what isn't normal is going out of your way to violate the rights of any human being or to harass them in any manner. Obviously we can't help what we think and what is in our heads but we can control whether or not we act on these things. Fortunately most of us do not act on our thoughts, but some people do.

I actually really appreciate the guy at 8:02.... He was a very honest person about it. I mean, profiling is bad, but sometimes it helps. SOMETIMES someone's clothing, body language and attitude can give you a lot of information about a person. As an artist, I notice these things a lot, and I'm not trying to be rude or prejudice, or anything, these are just things I notice as an artist, whose job it is to capture and show people's emotions and bodies.

I've traveled all over the world and have noticed racism exists in all races and nationalities. Most racism occurs because people are in fear and loathing of each other. The reason is simply because we're comfortable among our own kind and when confronted or meeting someone different than we are we behave differently around them. Most often giving way to our prejudices and stereotypes. Instead of treating each other as human beings and individuals, we give in to racism.

The woman who is married to a Brit and has a slight preference to African Americans to European Americans appears not only disturbed, but confused and disgusted. That is another form of prejudice - the idea that they being white would prefer black people.

Yes Canadian history books say there was no Slavery. There was some but it was very small percentage. The population in what became Canada was very small \n\nThere will always be prejudice, but \n\nLooking like an Albino isn't going to get you on a fashion Runway\n\nDrake is half Jewish...lets leave lying dogs to lie with this one. \n\nDwight Drummond --> was Token Black guy for CityTV after Jojo Chinto left -->\nHorrible choice, horrible voice, worst news Achor I have ever seen. And the sad thing is there was a lot of other talented black people out there.

These subconscious choices I don't think they are our fault. They are results of experiences we have had with people, actual real experiences, and by the way we were raised, and where we were raised. How can that be our fault? What matters is the actual choices we make. If we choose to not be prejudice, despite what our subconscious tells us, that is the best we can do. Is that right? Where else could these subconscious ideas be coming from? We got them from somewhere? Either from someone who taught us, or an actual experience, right?

and @8:38, a reasonable and intelligent Muslim fears for her life from radical Muslims based on her sane and honest views of Islam. Wow, that should tell you everything you need to know about these extremists. Call me prejudice, but if you allow thousands upon thousands of Muslims into your country at once, you are playing with fire.

so pro women is wearing nothing?????? i am roman catholic and when i go to mass, i wear a veil. and remember it wasnt that long ago that women, no matter where, had to wear long dresses. and what do canadians think of nuns wearing their habits? should nuns ( and some here in italy, dress almost like muslims) change because of stupid, uneducated prejudice people?

Practice Islam, I care not.Wear a niqab. That is a choice given to you by the freedoms of choice and expression in this country.Come into my neigbourhood and try spreading Sharia........and I will be the Hellfire, without conscience, that will consume with prejudice.

So it's okay to attack gays, Jews and women if you're Muslim but how dare anyone criticize Islam. These people only care about prejudice if it's against them. Otherwise it's okay to terrorize a one who is not like them.

As a older Canadian born and bred, but now in Europe because of marriage, I can see things farther toward the wall than most of you perhaps in Brandon, Thunder Bay, Charlottetown, Whitby, Kamloops, Red Deer, etc. This is extremely dangerous. A few muslims are o.k., as they may assimilate to Canadian values of 'PEACE, ORDER, and GOOD GOVERNMENT'. Yet most do not wish to assimilate, only to remain who they are, ungrateful of the bounty Canada offers them, and holding values against those our country has always promulgated. We have separation of church and state in Canada, and fought very hard for it, with a history of bloody wars in Europe to show for it. It is repulsive how we are allowing a bleeding of immigrants into our country who do not believe in our basic creed. This is not racial. This is not hate-based or prejudice. It is simply defending our creed as a country, from wherever you are, and whomever you are. Canada is worth defending. Where are the feminists on this? Why are you not defending Canada is this debate?

Speaking as a white man I have to admit I don't quite understand the need for anyone to organize as a race in Canada. First generation clubs from whatever country, sure, but as a race? Is it the elephant in the room... American slavery?  I can't help but think that most perceived problems blacks have in Canada are due to American issues we see in movies and media.\nWe in Canada bend over backwards to offer opportunity to succeed. Even touching on racism is widely and loudly crushed. I personally, as do most, give any individual the opportunities they deserve but it's up to them to screw it up or not. To me, if any minority can't make it in this society they aren't trying.\nIt's actually worse in my mind to be white male in public forums because our views and opinions are marginalized and shouted down. Youtube and the internet are the few forums where honest feelings and opinions can be spoken. No one with anything to lose would say this in public for fear of attacks from the thought police. Pretty sad we live in a free country that actually doesn't allow free speech from all. I guess some are more free than others.\nKeep telling me I'm unfair and bad, when I'm not and I might actually grow resentment and the very prejudice you're complaining about.
