This is so very sad. I sincerely hope the Canadians know that the American people do not want this. Most of us are appalled and desperately want this to end. We never wanted it to happen in the first place.

Go Canada, let him have it. Know that most Americans don’t support his actions. More than half of us DID NOT vote for him, and those that did likely had no idea what tariffs were or certainly didn’t understand how they work. Though I didn’t vote for him, I am so embarrassed and I am so sorry to the entire world for the horrible decision so many people in my country have made.

Twice in a week Trump is humiliated by a world leader, Trump thinking he can be a president of a country like the ceo of a corporation. He blackmails people offering them scraps from the table of his last meal as if they should be thankful. How on gods earth did America vote this clown as it's leader. Putin has spent 3 years trying to get into Kiev and in a few weeks has managed to get into the Oval office of the Whitehouse. I sit here in the UK watching what is going on in America like many around the world cringing and at the same time laughing at how such a scumbag could achieve what he has done. Trump and his arse licking lapdog are making a laughing stock of the US and you seem helpless to stop the shitshow that is coming your way. I feel for you and hope his stupidity will lead to a very quick exit for the now most famous clown in the world.

Just know this isn't what most Americans believe and we don't support his thoughts and actions. We are trapped in this nightmare that makes no sense. We hope this is just a temporary change. I wish we could make it make sense, most of the country did not vote for him. But too many people who would've voted against him decided to stay home. We can't seem to do a damn thing to change it!

What Trump seems to try to get at most is the unfair act of the USMCA. Most trades benefited Canada, while Canada refused to provide the same fair trades. Sometimes Trump does say things that may have gone off track like fentyl handling on Canada's end and border handling. It seems like our borders at the time were less strict on the American side versus the Canadian side of the border. Trump did state multiple times that most countries like Canada were unfair to USA. Even with the USMCA, America got screwed by Mexico as will. America has been there helping and supporting and submitting to every country. Yet failed to support our own people when we need it, especially to clear up our own debts. Sadly, America is falling behind due to poor handling of Government Democrat corruption. I am neutral as both parties don't always provide the best solution for everyone. You have to pick who can help the American people. Seeing how corrupt the Democrats has ran America and the defacto behind of all the wars and money laundering has surprised me, and I hope the change with Trump will help everyone realize how screwed we all are in correcting those corruption that isn't really needed.

You believe in working together until you force your Truckers to take shots like farm animals, then you shut down their banks, then you stole their bitcoin. Don't lecture us about working together. The problem is Trump's doing totally the most unnecessary actions against our country and it's people! What did the American people do to deserve this unnecessary action of tariffs! As a u.s citzen I'm appalled and ashamed of my president. The elites got what they want but doesn't mean it will last they talk about exposing corruption but yet are doing some pretty corrupt things why do we only get 2 choices for a president and lesser of two evils why don't we pick someone with morals and that have the best interest for our country and people not just the rich cause I've been struggling before during and after trump maybe we need new congress and stop this dumbass blame game of pointing fingers when dems and rep come together we can be unstoppable why are people so stupid and selfish like we have it easier than most country's last I knew we don't eat cats or dogs so that tells me are economy not as bad as other places just seems like the rich are losing and this will help them stay rich. As an American and a Trump supporter, I agree with these tariffs, but only equal to the tariffs other countries charge the United States on our imports. I do not agree with imposing this on our brothers and sisters to the north. I’m speaking of the good people of Canada. I have traveled to Canada and crossing the border was just like crossing into another state. Yes, there was a border gate which there should be, but I had absolutely no problem whatsoever. I hope our government can work this out very quickly and stop this foolishness. But to countries like China and Europe the United States should charge a reciprocal tariff as to what you charge us on our import. It’s only fair. Why are we paying an exuberant tariff for our goods entering your country and you expect to pay nothing with your goods entering ours. Most Americans, love Canada and love our Canadian brothers and sisters, we’ve always supported each other in world, wars, and other attacks against our respective countries. I pray this is resolved quickly, and then we can once again live United and in harmony.

I’m an American. I admire Canada as an Ally and neighbor. I can’t imagine a better international neighbor to have. The people there are kind and strong. The Trump administration is single-handedly trying to tear down alliances. To what end? Most likely self enrichment. I’m hoping for a normalization of relations as soon as possible. What I have loved most about the stupidity of Trump, his government and his supporters is that it has brought Europe and the commonwealth together. It’s made citizens of each country unite together at a time that there was so much division especially in Europe. Mexico and Canada's exports are 70-80% to the USA while we only export 13-14% to them. This means most of their economy relies on the USA and only a small of ours rely on theirs.

Honestly, the way of saying that one people is more productive then the other is such an extreme oversimplification. I know this is a general term used by economists, but I can’t see the benefit. A majority of Canadians are NOT home owners. That's a bad reading of the data. A majority of people LIVE in OWNER-OCCUPIED homes. That means if adult children are living with their parents, both the children and parents are counted as home owners. Or in my case, I own my home but my friend lives with me. She and I are both counted as owning homes when only I do. Most Canadians do not own homes.

But in the matter of illegal immigrants, how are the victimized countries supposed to know their backgrounds? How can one be sure if they are not hardcore criminals, terrorists, spies, or even trained soldiers of enemy countries? In such uncertainty, how can the invaded countries be sure that an incident or incidents of such a large magnitude might not take place that, in comparison, the incident of 9/11 would look like the small incident of bursting firecrackers?But on one election promise, the president is, unfortunately, taking a complete U-turn that those students who do the master's and other higher studies should be retained and provided legal status to stay in the country as their contributions are needed to give the country the perpetual cutting edge in the highly competitive world and keep the country's status as number one. These scholars are feeling cheated that by spending huge amounts of money and contributing to the research and development during the studies, they have not only been taken for a ride but also become the main target of the deportation campaign as their status is available with the government. On the other hand, millions of undocumented workers are comparatively safe, as tracing and deporting them is not an easily achievable task. Besides, millions of foreign citizens are given entry into the country on flimsy grounds, and many of them do not even ever go to elementary school. I think even God would not be able to make out what the fuck this country has become on this issue. Almost the same is the situation with most of the EU countries, the UK, Australia, and Canada.

I live in the area where they go threw the border and they can basically walk right threw the border as most of the border stations are closed at night. They may want to be careful as people are putting Conibear traps along the border to catch people from going on their land illegally. The government leaves the border wide open and in the winter the Ice bridge is open on the St. Lawrence so they can walk right in.
