My daughter is 5 months pregnant and lives in Canada, she hasn't even seen a damn Dr , and she can't because she can't get insurance , I have to send her money weekly for food, because she can't get foodstamps.\nI'm worried sick because she lost her 1st child by a miscarry and it was horrific, if she had had prenatal care maybe she wouldn't had lost the baby , \nMy point , I'm scraping money together toget her home so she can get medical care, and those women get it handed to them for free, as soon as they storm our border.\nYea, I'm pissed

We are sick and tired of this. As a result of the illegal immigration situation this country is a nightmare. We are footing the bills. I feel sorry for them somewhat, but they are passing over Mexico which is a nice place to come here for free set aside. That part angers me

I was in the Missouri when i got sick. I drove home and was diagnosed with a brainstem tumour. 10 hr surgery, 4 surgerical teams, icu, wks hospitalization. Months of rehab and homecare. The school even arranged a cab to take my 5 yr old to school. I have seen bills for pts who didn't make it home and had to have surgery in the US before being repatriated back to the icu i worked. It was an eye opener to see what they were charged for a box of kleenex, a catheter, an iv bag etc. I would have lost everything if i had to have surgery in the US. \nMy sister is currently in hosp in the US, and she is getting good care. I drove down last time she was in, and i was impressed by the lovely large CCU bay, but, hey patients are paying for it. She had a fancy postop CABG pillow to splint her chest when she had to coughed. It had a cute surgical heart on it. I am sure it cost $$. In Canada, we give our pts a regular pillow, some iv morphine and tlc when it hurts when they cough, no fancy cartoon pillow, but no bill either lol. She's a senior on medicaid so she's not going into massive debt or dying in her home to avoid going to the hospital.\n \nI have been travelling to the states since 1976 as a young child. I love the states, I have a lot of family there. My dad lived there until his death. My great grandma immigrated and died in Montana. I have never had a negative experience there in over 49 yrs, other than the old lady backed into my parked suv in the hobby lobby lol parking lot l\n\nA big plus in Canada, is paid Maternity/ paternity leaves and also caregiver leave. Your mom has a stroke or child has cancer you can take time off work to care for them with partial pay and not worry about losing your job

Hell no! It’s a fun place to visit, I love Florida California. I’m looking forward to going to the Carolinas, but I would never move there permanently. As a woman in Canada with children, what I do with my uterus is nobody’s business. I like my option of 18 month parental leave. I like my option not to do overtime and not have affect my job. I like to have a conversation about a political opponent without it getting dangerous you’re allowed to have an opinion up here and that’s how we view it, but quite frankly after half an hour 15 minutes we we get bored of political views and just walk away from you.There’s no such a thing as you don’t want to live in that area and you have to be careful about where your kid goes to school. What does that do to the people that you’ve left behind? How does that make that better for them? I had a friend that worked down in the United States and every time I talk to her, she always uttered. I have to be aware of my white privilege. Canadian here.. Canada has its pros and cons.. Come hell or high water I LOVE CANADA... I am home sick for Canada and will be moving back to Canada in 2025... The sooner so much the better.... I am Canadian . I graduated from centennial college my student loan 30000$. I could not found any job because every where over dumps emigrants this LIBERAL GOVERNMENT .this is make me sick. We don’t have much jobs here. Unemployment rate percentage going up again.

I am sri lankan dude born and raised in germany. I work in a company where most are german. They are quite respectful , funny and quite sensitive in terms of racism, homophobia etc. I even hang up and party with them in freetime. The work life balance is insane , much better than USA. If u r sick u r sick , no one dares to question u. All that because of Young People they r different than the older ones in public services etc. . So if u get into a good company everything will be fine. I know its hard...but thats they key.

I immigrated to Canada in 1981 because I married a Canadian I should say French Canadian girl and it was just a better place for her to continue on with her background. We relocated to Ottawa which is bilingual and made it very easy for both of us to assimilate together. I moved back to the USA in 2006 to help my sick brother and move back again to Canada in 2016. I came back for many reasons. The political Edge in the united states, the guns out of control, the increased crime rate daily, in just too many people everywhere. Now I was living in the Tampa Bay area and a lot of the people come from out of state and out of country especially in the winter to spend their cold months in the sunshine. Some things I miss in the United States comes usually down to the cost of living. Unless you get sick. And I miss living by the Gulf of Mexico. Except during hurricane season. I prefer living in Canada only because it's a slower easier paced social environment. It has nowhere near the political stress that the United States has where it can almost be violent. Actually, where it has been violent. Revisit January 6th. Out of control guns with hot-headed men mostly can force you out as well and back to Canada. Canada's social structure and environment supersedes the United States tenfold. And of course as we get older, Healthcare is a priority. I'm thankful there's a place like Canada close to where I was born or I can spend the rest of my life enjoying it as opposed to looking over my shoulder constantly. I also find that Canadians have a huge appreciation of warm months. So many people are outside even when they are eating at restaurants. Because of the warmer months are so short, Canadians really take advantage of enjoying it and those months are never taken for granted. Winters in Ontario, like here in Ottawa, can be very cold once January and February come around. But once you make it into the middle of march, you can almost smell spring in the air and somewhere on the way. But there are those dreaded 8 weeks of oh my God ?

Then you end up with a huge issue of Homeless people trying to live in Tents in the middle of winter. j You have a vast number of elderly women taking to van life because they can't afford to live any other way. Would you like to your Grandma living in Van, constantly on the go? I was visiting when I felt sick. I came home asap. Turned out I had a tumour on my brain stem. Thankfulness. 4 surgical teams, 10 hr surgery, 1wk in hosp, months of homecare, rehab and follow up mri and care. Yikes. My sis moved down in 1976, was good when she was in her 30’s while she worked. Her husband, American, went off on Canadian disability and once my sister retired their healthcare costs were crazy. They moved to a state that had better senior med care. I was visiting four yrs ago. My sis had several hosp visits due to heart issues. She ended up having open heart surgery. The hospital was lovely. Care was great. Pt care room was huge. I was used to tight icu cubicles. She had complications, day 4 the social worker came to tell her she was being discharged the next day. Her insurance had run out. There was no further coverage!!! She was in her 80’s had just had a stent blow thru her R coronary artery 5 days earlier then have bypass surgery and had just come off a ventilator the day before. I had to get back to Canada the next day. Thankfully, the social worker was able to continue working to find respite care at a nursing home for her for a couple more wks. \n\nI love certain parts of the states having spent a majority of my childhood visiting since my big sister moved there. Both countries are having issues now. Housing sucks in canada. If you aren’t doing well financially, canada isn’t all that great anymore either.
