I am Canadian, my husband is American. I moved to the USA 11 years ago. I live in a liberal state (by American standards) with little violence (by American standards). I like where we live and enjoy most of the people that I interact with. I would move back to Canada in a heartbeat. I must confess that I felt like I stepped back in time 20 years when I moved here - labor standards in the US are so behind the rest of the world (maternity leave, paid time off, job protections, etc). To a Canadian, US culture feels accepting of racism, violence, us vs them mentalities, gun culture, religious and political fanaticism. I still can’t get over how “normal” Americans think their healthcare system is…. most other countries think it is absolutely nuts! I have good insurance, but if I ever develop a serious illness….I will move back to Canada where I can attempt to keep my health AND still have a house to live in. On the surface, Americans and Canadians look alike - but I still feel the cultural differences every day. I’m sure that America feels safe and wonderful to Americans who grew up here - but it can be difficult for people who grew up with different values to agree that these things make America “great”.

I live in Toronto and I am not rich. I am regular person. \nIf you are an immigrant and especially if you are considered from visible minority group aka not white, DO NOT leave Toronto at all ! Work hard and make it work for you. I am sure the majority people from your coutires in Canada are located in Toronto and its close cities. If you chose to live outside this multicultural heaven called Toronto then expect to deal with deep racism. Yes people in Canada are rasicst althogh it is not openly like USA.\nIf you are into education and you want to do your degree, move to Montreal. Tuition fees in Montreal are way more cheaper than in Toronto or other parts of Canada. I lived in Montreal before and I went to university there. Montreal is great for education, aba rent are cheaper than Toronto but not for living there if you are visible immigrant. You will never feel you belong down there. Where as in Toronto, you will feel you belong to it within 30 mins max of you arruval. Toronto's motto are : you belong here and we have been waiting for you.\n62%of people in Toronto weren't born in Canada. You will find your community from your country in Toronto and the people are well established. I have been in different cities in Canada and I always felt stranger, even cities as close as ashawa.\nIn conclusion I would say to the visible minority immigrants stay in Toronto as much as you can for work and if you want to study in university go to Montreal. There are two major English universities in Montreal :Concordia university and McGill university, where McGill is one of top 10 university in the world.\n\nFor you Alina, I understand what you are saying and you can go somewhere in Canada and try it out with no racial or inclusiveness issues. You have great team in research.\n\nI am Hindu and was quite proud of Sikhs and with that interest I learned more about their presence in USA 25years back.\nWhen Sikhs and Hindus migrated to North America (Canada and USA particularly Orange country) and they were called Hindoos and they were successful in Agriculture. Some of them married to Mexicans as they looking for partners, and are videos / documentaries on this and I had watched them..\n\nMy personal opinion, Pak wants to take revenge for their loss of East Pak (Bangla) and nurtured few disgruntled Sikhs. \n\nWhen I went to USA and met acquaintance (who is Sikh and moved to use based on asylum) in 1996. When I enquired his visa status, he mentioned that he got some letter from local political person and used it towards asylum and like wise many are there in USA and Canada.

Hey, be negative. I hate the positivity cult. Be honest. The world is falling apart. Let's not mince words. This is a global crisis. America has been crap for a long time, but it's sad to see Canada now going through the same, and deteriorating. Such a beautiful country. I remember being there years ago, and the energy was so much lighter, uplifting, and I always loved this about Canada in general. It was always the nicer bit of N. America....but now it's much like what the USA is experiencing with insane prices, housing crisis, drugs, crime, homelessness, etc. I don't feel this will get better anytime soon. I think we need to demand some serious changes, and they need to start with forcing down the costs of living, whether they like it or not. It's a giant scam. Anyone who knows what is really going on, and why, knows that it's not even 'the market', but it's predatory price gouging. People are charging high prices because they can, not because it's actually worth that. And no one is stopping them. Same with food, and everything else.

I live in Canada as a Kenyan and I have been here for sometime .I work as a HR/Payroll Specialist also certified in the field. The problem is not Canada , Canada is a very good county which I love and I am gland God gave me the Opportunity to Come and settle here with my family.. The problem with some people coming here is lacking of knowledge how Canada works .It’s system is very far from how things work in Dubai or Gulf countries. A lot people are thinking than you can just come and get any job even without proper papers or you can earn a lot of money and then build wealth quickly. Which is A BIG FAT LIE. The tax in Canada keeps you humble. That is how Canada funds it's high end life many admire and want to be part of. The more you work in Canada the more tax you pay and many don't know this, and it is one of the main reasons why a lot of people start to regrets, because they realize there effort of working hard is not paying as they hoped. Another thing in Canada is next to impossible to get jobs or rent a place without proper paper work, like work permit, It is not like USA where you can use someone else papers to work. the The main available jobs , easy to get , don’t pay much. And also the cost of living is very high in some provinces like Ontario and BC. They hardly recognize credentials from outside unless you came through a job offer. Also because a lot of things in Canada are paid by the government through taxes, like health care, education. Unless you are tax paper with (and I repeat) Paper work, you cant access the benefit, including thee free food available for the needy. \nMany people forget Canada is looking for people to work for them. Not to grow rich and leave. The system is meant to keep you working. Unless you understand how a system of a country works, one will continue to blame it. Let people get well informed and well educated first , before they jump in the river. And it’s not Canada a lone , but any country in the world. Also a lot of these media post about Canada are misleading. And there is also another trap called debt, a lot of people once they getting working, rush to but things they cant afford and it becomes a stress instead of a blessings.\nIf you want to live well and enjoy Canada . One of the top thing to do is, go back to school once you enter in it, get a good education and you will get a good job. Also give yourself time to adjust. REMEMBER you are starting from square one. You are not continuing where you left in Kenya or in the country you get from. Also, the general social climate is not as friendly as those in USA for example. Not many people are willing to help for free. The most jobs advertised in Canada are the lower end paying jobs, which a lot of people pay a lot of money to come for, just to realize the job they left behind was far much better than this, but no one told them that, just because it said $18 hrs and you converted it to your country and looked a lot, doesnt mean it carries the same wait once you earn in from here. The living expense are very different. The reality is, it is not where you are , but whom you are and determination knows no barrier. Anyone who will trust God for help, work hard/smart and be patience in life, they will make. It might take longer than they expect, but they will get their eventually.

I think students should try to get into good universities in Canada or the USA. Like the University of Toronto, McGill University, Uni of British Columbia and many others. These will provide good education and also good work opportunities. Going to small colleges just to get to work in Canada is not a good choice. It can be problematic after some time.

Wheater we like or not World War begins. Nostradamus is correct. I think Russia ?? is 100% correct. Intitially I blindly supported USA. Overall Western countries support terrorist. We see it in our eyes. Some Western countries they have propaganda and spoil other Western countries who need really peace. They target particular religion or territory, something like Hitler. Overall nowadays Western means spread hate, go for war, sell weapons, kill innocents. Finally some leaders are getting rich and innocent people suffer who need peace. I PRAY TO JESUS TO GIVE WISDOM AND LOVE TO THOSE HATERS.

Sounds like why when I had the opportunity to leave Cleveland; I made a bee line to the U-Haul garage to line up my truck and car trailer. When I left on a very busy morning looking down I-480 and going west from a west end suburb, going out of the city, and looking at the traffic entering the city ( 4 to 5 lanes going east and 4 to 5 lanes going west with everyone moving at 80 mph/129 kph except the east lane which was moving at 35 mph/56 kph with no more than 1 to 2 car lengths between each other) it hit me that I was darn lucky to survive all this without any major incidents. I also remember saying to myself, I can not wait to get out of this traffic. Either I was lucky or God had my Guardian Angle on 24/7 over time pay for the last 7 to 8 years. I was missing the people I knew but not the place and above all not the crime and traffic. ( at that time it was a 10 mile traffic jam into the city and getting worse every year & has gotten worse every year) That is why I am now living in a place like Melfort but in the USA. I am not recommending Melfort to you but if you want to stay in Canada then perhaps you need to find a place like Melfort or some nice far flung suburb of Calgary so that you can visit a city now and then. Take your time as you can travel around and work anywhere you think that you might want to stay, and for as long as it takes you to find your permanent nesting place. This is a luxury that few humans experience on this planet.

I'm a permanent resident in Canada, and I'm on track to become a citizen in a couple years. My sister is a head doctor at one of the biggest and most well known and well respected hospitals in the US. She's saved countless children. And it took her 10 years to get her green card and additional years to become a citizen. It took me 3+ years to get my permanent residence and it'll have taken me 6-7 years to become a citizen. And I'm just an animator. \n\nCanada's immigration system is expensive and time consuming, but it's fair, has a reasonable time frame, and it's much less arbitrary than the systems in the USA. I have my fair share of complaints but I feel exceptionally lucky that the system doesn't feel like it's actively working against me.

You forgot to list Las Vegas in your list of largest US Cities. The Las Vegas Metro area has 2.9 million people (while the city of Las Vegas itself is small, the real city is the metro area that contain Henderson, Sumerlin, Enterprise, Paradise, North Las Vegas, Green Valley, etc.) Your list excluded Las Vegas because Las Vegas is made up of a collection of cities not just one. I moved from Canada to the USA many years ago and the USA is definitely a better place to live. There was too much discrimination in Canada and the Canadian Healthcare system is just an excuse for you to not get any medical treatments. There is no freedom of speech in Canada and they use the high taxes to rob you. Maybe for all these reasons, the U.S. Economy is the strongest and most robust in the world. Don't take my word for it, Elon Musk is widely recognized as one of the smartest people in the world and he moved from Canada to the USA just like I did.

I live in Canada from last 11 years. I was super happy when Trump government wanted to create skilled based immigration system same like Canada express entry system (Canada started it in 2014). I hate Canada due to housing market and law wages, the day Republicans remove country based quota and add Skill based system, I am moving to USA on next flight!

The USA is a violent hate filled hell hole, you may be able to find some safe corner if you're lucky but it is flooded with guns and violence, run by religious fanatics and the other deluded. I wouldn't even want to visit there anymore.\n The host comes off like an abused wife trying to find somethin nice to say about her abusing husband, he sounds like he has Stockholm syndrome, hubby's not always violent and unreasonable sometimes he's good, but when asked when he's confused.

Canadian s always complaining about USA but it is probably the number 1 place for us to visit. Border crossings are often jam packed. Millions of snowbirds spend months in the USA for the weather and all the other advantages. Canadians don’t always tell the truth. Canada has it share of problems too but never talk about it. Again, take away the gun issue and Canadians love USA and Americans. I think Canadians like to show they are different but actually aren’t that much

Canadian here with many American friends.....\nWe have frequent conversations about the fear of school shootings and the parents being concerned for their kids safety. The fact that you and your friends don't discuss it may very well be cuz it's an uncomfortable subject. The ones I've spoken with sit with me on the phone year after year and cry about having to buy the inserts for the backpacks having to tell their kids no flashy shoes cuz it'll give your location away if you move, needing to teach them how to hide to survive. \nI'm in a very large city in Canada and we have the drills here too, it's terrifying for us just having that part, I can't imagine being a parent in the states worrying about my kids surviving school day by day. And the risk doesn't end there, it's the start of day 216 of 2023 and the USA has had 424 mass shootings events in those 216 days (well 215 days cuz day 216 has literally just started). And that's just the events that have 4 or more victims. \nAdd on the ongoing war on women's rights, wanting to legislate who ppl can love and marry. Nope, your country is quite literally the laughing stock of the world and needs to evolve to bring itself up to par. Your education system is slowly your medical system is insanely overpriced and messy. No thanks. \nCanada has it's issues, I'll admit that, but the USA is like the kid in HS who was always high and doing stupid dangerous ?z the only difference is that kid eventually grows up, the USA doesn't seem to be able to ?

This Canadian lived in Orange County CA for 10 years. I took my the 12 year old with me. I had been offered my dream job and was paid enough to have a good standard of living. However, I lived in an immigrant community to save money as I found many of the high schools were horrid compared to Canada. I had not realized the school to school inequality to be so extreme and my kid changed to independent study at home. So with a Canadian elememtary education, they graduated high school a year only while skipping no courses..\n\nMy kid had medical issues and even with good HMO insurance, we could never get a decent diagnosis until it had gotten so bad that their digestive system was so wrecked. I finally sent them back to Canada for the surgery that we could not get in the USA. It seemed the insurance companies kept getting in the way. And in one case a doctor went all religious on us. After 6 years of almost continuous pain they finally got relief for a decade until the prior damage came back to haunt them However, after a year of university ib Canada my kid went to a private university in the eastern USA. They have decided to remain in the USA and now in their mid 30s, they make really good money anf have top line medical insurance which pays for the ongoing care they need because of the damage caused by delays when a teenager. \n\nI found life in the suburbs of Orange County nice but the OC is not a good place to meet people. When after 10 years there, in 2010 I returned to Vancouver to care for my elderly mother. I had been living alone for 6 years by then and was offered the first job in Vancouver anything close to me dream job there. and I returned to Canada at age 59. I had been approved for a green card in 2008 but there was a 6 year wait for it to come through. But I noticed the racism in the USA start breaking out all over the place when Obama got elected. And it has gotten worse and worse every year. Especially with 45 enabling it so much. \n\nMy circle of friends in Southern California are mainly good people and not at all like what we call MAGA-hats now. Except one who thinks 45 was the greatest. Politically, the USA is on the path that Germany was on in 1933 and I fear for the US Democracy if the Orange One gets in again. Even my kid and their spouse have bug out plans to head to Canada just in case. This is why my kid, while having a green card has never taken US citizenship. Besides, being a Canadian has not affected things the two times they got security clearances \n\nWhile most Americans are good people, it seems that about 25% have gone just plain loco and care nothing about democracy. And appear to prefer the USA to be a totalitarian theocracy \n\nI was there long enough, paying the maximum FICA taxes for 10 years to get a small pension from Social Security and I have Medicare Part A. I can afford to buy parts B and D but I see no reason. I have even better coverage in Canada for way less cost. The USA has a nice warm climate in many places and I just loved that. But otherwise y'all have too many people who want to turn the place into an intolerant police state and to return the country to 1950s levels of intolerance, So in my retirement, I will stay here in Canada. Even though I could go and move in with my kid in the USA and get onto US Medicare.

Canadian here, born and raised, no Thank you. I like to visit the USA only 2 hours away from me however Canada is my Home forever and I would Never Ever think about moving to the US. It’s for no particular reason as I love my fellow Americans it’s just Canada is Home, it my heart, in my blood.

Canadians are too kind and polite to tell you a straight N O... never in a million years would I move to the USA. There are too many reasons never to move there! Between your nasty guns and Second Amendment #*!$$#@ ( times have changed since 1776!) It's almost like you can't even trust your own family or Neighbors with your stupid gun laws. What about medical? Ours is FREE and it doesn't matter if you have pre-existing conditions ever. We do not get the Hurricanes, tornadoes, major flooding, and extremely ugly ugly politics. I'm not saying we're perfect but we're a hell of a lot better than the u.s.a. there are many many more reasons but I have not mentioned.

*Excuse you*, Canada is a BIGGER, better version of what the USA is trying to be. BIGGER. More land mass up here, and it's really nice when it's not snowing. Maine seems nice, but most places are too expensive or too crazy. TYVM but absolutely not. I wouldn't trade my multicultural society for the world. Aside from the fruit loop fanatics, the gun laws and mass shootings, the ridiculous health care system that can't seem to provide care to people who need it, there's so much more about the USA to dislike. The rich dominate your society. The poor can't afford a college education and rich alumni kids don't even have to pass their courses. Some of your laws, like what constitutes rape in New York, are based on archaic thinking. Some of my relatives aren't white, and I worry about them when I hear they're thinking of spending time in the US. Seriously, we Canadians watch your movies and dramas where the plot is driven by something that isn't even an issue up here, and we're just, head shake, nope, no, nope.

8:15 there’s a reason for this. It’s a melting pot in America. Bringing all these different cultures together… but if too many from one country show up, they’ll make a community too large that they don’t need to melt with the population. There are Chinatowns and Little Italys and whole Mexican communities, but ultimately everyone has to interact with everyone else. Allowing 300,000 Indians to get green cards every year and only 1,000 Norwegians would lead to the Norwegians merging well with the country, while the Indians would all move to one or two cities and make entire sections of the cities like small versions of their own country. Which is the last thing we want. Once an immigrant community gets enough power to be a voting block, things are scary, but once it has enough power that they start getting their own representatives and passing laws for the rest of us? Laws the look like laws they had back in their own countries… that led them to run from their countries in the first place? It’s a concern. We want people to adapt to the USA and not try to adapt the USA to them. Over time, the US does change due to the growing voting blocs. But that’s after generations of those immigrant populations getting larger, and their children being born and raised in the country they’ve adapted to. When I see a protest of Muslim immigrants burning pride flags, or Chinese and Spanish-speaking Hispanic immigrants who never bothered to learn English, I see problems with our immigration system. But the kids of the Arab immigrants will be more tolerant, and the Hispanic kids will have grown up in American schools. Most Chinese-American kids might speak some Chinese at home with their parents, but they’re worse at it, and their first language is English. It takes second Generation immigrants to really start meshing with America. But if entire school districts are all Indian, and every store, restaurant, and business in a whole town is Indian, then those kids won’t adapt to America. They won’t get bits of their home culture from their time at home and with their neighbors, while also getting bits of American culture from their classmates and other people around them. Nope. They’ll only be exposed to the first Generation who completely took over the area- IF, we allowed for unfettered immigration from the largest countries. It’s a fact that immigrant communities like to stick together. But if not enough people are in that community that you need to reach out to others around you, it helps expose you to the rest of America… Anyway! There are a ton of shows that indirectly show this phenomena. Fresh Off the Boat. The Sopranos. Even Brooklyn 99. We see as traditional and hard-to-adapt parents have to deal with kids in the next generation who are more American, don’t follow the same customs and traditions as their parents, and overall just left more of their old culture behind. No one is asking that immigrants abandon their cultural ties, but if you come to America, there are things that people need to change and accept if they’re going to live here.

All I can say as a Canadian is why would anyone want to move to the USA.The more I learn the more I love where I live the USA is a hot mess and watching the kind of people that you elect is mind boggling . Why would anyone support a bottom feeder like Donald Trump to run their country. You don't have to be a scholar to realize this man is beyond corrupt and a really bad person. Who in the world other than a 12 year old, makes up names for people and whine all the time just watching this man perform is an eye opener and as a Canadian I'm embarrassed for Americans. This man is taken a once great country and making it a laughingstock. This man should be pushed aside and find someone better to represent the Republicans . If this is the best you got you guys are in trouble.

Children getting shot is not a “touchy subject.” It’s an insane problem. And yes, there are children shot daily! Dude, there is no where on the planet where there are children and humans shot on anywhere CLOSE to the scale that it happens in the US.\n\nAnyway, move to the States? Not on your life! I used to like some vacations there, but the current insane right-wing, fascist politics, anti-vax and anti-mask and anti-science entrenched attitudes, and MOSTLY the pervasive threat of gun violence and the manic love affair with guns — UGH - all mean I am not interested in even vacationing there. There is a sane world outside the USA.\n\nNor would I want to live inside such an inward-looking, self-absorbed “we are the centre of the world” culture that truly believes itself superior to all others in the world. The hubris and delusion are very off-putting. \n\nAnd to live in such a broken health care system? Where profits drive it all? Not on your life.\n\nOh, I couldn’t stand the hot weather that so many places have either. No thanks! I’ll take my coldest large city in the world (Winnipeg) any day. \n\nThere is nothing appealing about the prospect of living anywhere in the States, despite WONDERFUL vacations I’ve had there is past decades.

As a Canadian there looks like some great places to visit in the USA but i would never move to the US. The biggest issue in the US is Gun violence, there attachment to guns. Number two is health care, number three is weather volatility and more adverse weather conditions. Instead of one main government the US seems to have two which prevents any real change for the better. Money controls more government and political decisions than even in Canada which is already bad enough. The NRA controls more government and policing. They are seen as the bigger risk to American safety and security. I believe many Canadians believe the NRA are on the cusp of being the largest domestic terrorist organization and closure to a major cartel. Not even the military could control the NRA if the US decided to enforce new laws that the NRA felt would effect their financial, political or perceived control in the US. This is a big reason Canadians may not want to move to the US. To think there is a private military ready to go to war against their own people in the drop of a hat, reminding North Americans of the war between the North and South. There are beautiful places to see in the US, there are hard working and brave people in the US and i am sure there are more good people than bad but those with power, control and weapons have the great degree of balance. The US has a lot to be proud of and still so much possibility and ability to grow if it were not for those with the majority of power that is not being used for good or in the best interest of the majority of US citizens. Love the architecture and old districts and those trying to preserve the environment, farms, seed diversity and best of what made the US great.

I'm a proud Canadian who would NEVER move to the USA for a ton of reasons. I only wish our best neighbors---I still believe this---would get their act together. Unfortunately I think it may be way too late. The fact that a known scumbag like Donald Trump could still,I think,get back into the White House says it all. The warring political parties should be lining up to put him jail. Far too many shootings and violence down there. When I meet Americans up here,they are always nice folks,always respectful. Maybe they're relieved I'm not armed. I'm kidding. Still,all things considered,very proud and very lucky and very happy to be a Canadian.

I live in Québec, borned and raised here too. I would NEVER move to USA. There is no good reason to do that. As a woman, I would fear for my safety, my health and my rights on my body. Hell fucking no. This country feels like it's back to the 1800s with all these guns and archaic laws. The Far West era is far far away behind us, and it should stay right there. I have lived in different parts of Canada my whole life, but always seem to end up in majority conservative areas. I do not consider myself a conservative. Even though I don't agree with everyone's politics, I can still live here feeling relatively safe and accepted.\nWhen things get a bit much and I feel like maybe home doesn't feel safe or match my values, I never look at the USA as my exit plan. I have considered Sweden, and Finland before anywhere else. I also wonder if it's just the sheer volume of people that Canadians aren't used to when they visit the states. Your population is massive compared to ours, and it's hard to imagine the quality of life that I have here being easy to emulate down there without drastic changes.\nThen there's my vacation and sick time at work. Maternity leaves etc... so many quality of life things to consider. I look at the housing prices and really wish I could get over the other things. But as a Medical Laboratory Technologist, I could never work in your fee for service word. I know what hospital CEOs are doing to your healthcare from the diagnostic side - the shortcuts that are being made to make more money - and I could never do that with my ethics.\nI hope Canada wasn't too rough on you - we can be pretty shitty some times lol... and not even be sorry about it.

My Canadian son and his girlfriend, both in their early 30's, have visited the USA many times. Each time they go, I worry constantly that something bad will happen to them (shot, injured or sick). My brother and his wife have a condo in Florida and I worried that during COVID they'd catch it and die because of DeSantis' batshit crazy policies, making Florida a cesspool of virus. Now he wants to turn it into Gilead. His wife clearly desires to become Serena from The Handmaid's Tale. Too bad because I used to love Florida. I'm also worried sick that if Trump is elected President again, he'll somehow cause such a catastrophe the like of which has never been seen before, and it will affect Canada too. Basically, as a neighbour of the US, I'm constantly worried all the time.

From my childhood it was my dream to love in USA or Canada but now I realized money and materialistic pleasure can't bring you true happiness in life \nWhat these countries lack is engaging in social circle and generally theres feeling of loneliness and depression in the suburban areas.\nI would never want to live like that no matter how many cars and luxury houses you give me.\nIt's no wonder despite being the richest country in the world , depression and mental health issue is so much high in United States

I`m Canadian, and did move to the USA, then moved back to Canada. Americans are Taxed on every dollar they earn, most states have to pay Fed an State tax, Health Care cost is way to high, when they economy goods bad, it goes south really fast. America tax on avg 22%, Canada 15%, America state tax 5.75%, Canada 0%, America sales tax 7.4%, Canada 7% plus 5% GST, however you get the GST back when you file you`re taxes. The 1 thing I really like were the people, made some very good friends but, they are not very educated, most people don`t leave they`re state, because they can see the world on TV, so why travel, as I was told.

Weather can be better in US places when it is winter in Canada. Generally Americans are nice people. Because warmer, they have bigger bugs. Ugg. Wouldnt send my kids to a school in the USA. Kind of nervous cuz so many people carry guns in USA. That freaks me out. I like being able to walk into ANY dr office or hospital in ANY place in Canada. Despite the good weather, too many down sides to the states.

I'm in my 50's and have thought about it many times. My dad is from NY but now in Florida. Several things that bother , me include your attempt at healthcare ( if you take care of one person you take care of ALL of them - you don't Cherry Pick), your gun issues (just because you have the RIGHT to bear arms, doesn't mean you have to), women's healthcare, Jeez, it's the woman's body not a guys body, so stay out of a woman's rights and body unless you happen to be her gyno. I'd be hard pressed to move to USA cuz your medical system prices, wages are less and so many people in a much smaller landscape. Id go for your constitution (1A, 2A) absolutely but Biden is a BIG turnoff for sure, your housing is way cheaper, your taxes are cheaper but... in Canada there is way more space where you can go and not see anybody besides moving to Northern Alaska, Montana or North Dakota. There are PROS and CONS to living in USA/Canada but I would move for dual citizenship and if I had guaranteed medical coverage but still keep a place in Canada to escape back to in case your country imploded under your current government or if I needed medical attention. It would be way better if you had a normal POTUS like Trump imo. Your money is at least worth the face value on the dollar bill... Cdn cash is like worth 50 cents US... we are like a peso currently.

Listened carefully to everything that was commented on and I too was a little surprised by what I heard. Being from southern Ontario actually near Buffalo and I am close to the USA but I am glad to be in Canada. Many of my friends go to Florida for the winter. They state that they will politely listen to the politics but never chime in with their opinion. The american political situation is very much like the religious situation with the Irish and the Northern Irish Catholics vs the Protestants. Your political separation borders on insanity. The current republicans lie through their teeth and keep repeating those lies. Listening to the Irish is equally exhausting. When I travel to the United States I am always glad to be home when the trip is over. While in America, I find most people are wonderful and we are always treated very well. If the Republicans snap out of it and the gun lobby loses their grip on the narrative that everyone needs a gun I think the attitude of Canadians might change. One thing for sure I am very happy that big brother is right next door and we will never have to deal with what the Ukrainian people are going through. In that instance I am glad that America keeps improving their weapon systems and their innovations and mass military production. \nI am sure there are many lovely places in the USA but the media focuses on the bad news of the day where violence and shootings and political insanity dominate news. Was an absolute NO for me most of my life until Justin Trudeau came along and if the opportunity presented itself I would of jumped on it until Biden but if it came down to it I think I would move to USA. People here think the health care is great but it's not and it's getting worse and I've seen the care deteriorate over the decades. If you want true medical care you pay a private health practitioner. I actually like that Americans have the right to defend themselves and carry a firearm. So a lot came up about guns in the USA. I am Canadian, and I own firearms (and have my restricted licence), I love firearms, YET all responsible gun owners know someone who should not be allowed to own a gun who has one! And we have strict gun laws here, training and safety, and NO way would I want it made much easier for the people who should not own one to get one like the states!

True of anywhere, but here the choice would be about preferences and afordability, NOT to avoid gun violence or shunning because of political views.\nThere is no where in Canada I could move to where gun violence would be a big factor to consider (we have rough places, and gun violence, but STRICT gun laws). Let me give you some perspective. In 2019 the USA had 37,038 gun related deaths. (No other causes of death- JUST all gun death). In Canada, in 2019, our death by illegal means (which does include suicide, as it is illegal) was 5,874. (That is for ALL types of homicide, not just guns). And the government was shocked by the increase that year and tightened gun restrictions further.\nYou talk about having certain States more Red or Blue. We aren't bi- partisan, so our politics are a melting pot. You might have people you disagree with everywhere you go, but you will also always find an equal group who thinks similar (unless your an extremist). And even the people who think different will generally agree to dis- agree. There is next to nowhere in Canada where your political views would get you run out of town. \n\nYou are USED to thinking like an American. (Fair, your American; I think like a Canadian) Trust me, as a Canadian, there are aspects of the accepted American culture (your country's way of life) that is boarderline terrifying to people here.

Been to USA several times. NYC,Florida,Boston, Virginia (includingDC) Houston, Michigan and LA. Never really had a bad experience except at 6 Flags in Springfield. The teens would walk 6 or 7 abreast and literally run you down. I finally said to my wife we need to stop thinking like Canadians and stand our ground . It worked. My son was 17 at the time and at the end night show was amazed by the rabid cheering as all the branches of the military were named. We always carried extra insurance. Overall We found the people to be really friendly and interested in where we were from. The comment on Nova Scotia was usually “oh wow”. Not sure if they thought we were from the ends of the earth or had no Idea where it was. No i would not live there but the USA is full-of really nice people and it’s a great place to visit.

Never. I would shoot myself before I would move to the USA (finding a handgun might be tough as they are generally not available at my local convience store) Health care is a very small part of it. 5 friends over 20 years being returned from the USA in body bags. US culture is very infantile and toxic. I have tried once for 2 weeks 20 years ago and I literally cried when the plane crossed back into Canada. Racism was so much more extreme than I could imagine. The worship of the Money God was horrible. Also all the small things like the fear enhanced news programs and desentization to human rights and lack of freedom. ???

My family and I have a lot of medical issues, so the US health insurance system would see it as a pre existing condition, so no health insurance for us.... I give it a hard NO to moving to the USA, just for that reason alone, but there are many other reasons I wouldn't move to the USA. I like it here in Canada. The USA might be a good place to visit, but not live.

I suggest google’n “ school shootings, small town America”…. article after article, when you do, says why most mass school shootings tend to happen in small towns….where nobody expects that they would have happened & how all the residents in those towns are always surprised that they happened in their town. \nI say this as somebody who once loved the idea of moving to the USA. \nMy mom was a single parent and as a result I spent a ton of time as a very young kid in the late 80s throughout the mid 90s in a small town in Oregon on my aunt and uncles dairy farm with my cousins and I absolutely loved it. Truthfully, I still love small-town America and I love the vast majority of the people I have met from small-town America. There is the friendliness and community that I find very similar to prairie farming towns in Canada. \n And as a kid, I loved the focus on high school sports in the small USA town I spent time in and how it brought the community together. It was very exciting to go to my cousins football games—stuff like that was super fun as a kid.\nAs an adult, with 2 young kids of my own now? \nYes, I would be terrified to send my children to any school in the United States, especially knowing that the vast majority of my school shootings do happen in small towns, which is a type of place in the states I would personally like to go to, if I did move. \n\nAdditionally, I will be completely bankrupt at this point given my own health issues as well as my two kids health issues and I’m just in my late 30s. \nAnd I’m not talking to super crazy health issues, but health issues nonetheless. I have asthma that has gone through patches where I’ve had to be hospitalized & I was diagnosed with stage 3 malignant melanoma when I was in my late 20s and pregnant with my 2nd. My first child was born with a congenital heart disorder that was missed through the pregnancy and until she was two, and that involved many many trips to the hospital & various specialists until they figured out what was going on (one of the symptoms was her randomly stopping breathing and going blue, which was terrifying, and could’ve been for many different reasons & it took many specialists & many hospital visits to figure it all out)\nMy son was born with a multiple protein intolerance and later received an autism diagnosis. There a decent number of hospital visits and specialists for his first couple of years of life too. \n\n I have no idea if I was in the United States how I would’ve paid for any of our health issues (let alone all three of ours) for that 5 or 6 year period where we all needed various types of regular-ish medical care. \n(because we got good medical care, thankfully, none of us have really had to see doctors any more than the average person in the last few years?)\n\nMy kids are now in elementary school, and, as a Canadian, the issue of school shootings happening anywhere….., including in small towns that seem perfectly safe……as well as the cost of healthcare for stuff that is covered by our taxes here in Canada….. are the two biggest reasons that I will think fondly of my time in small-town America, but would never consider moving there

Canadian here.\nVisit the USA, sure I have several times. I have met some lovely people and seen some beautiful things. My family is going to Flordia soon and we are really looking forward to it, even though we disagree with the governor and don't really want to support the state that supports him. \n\nMove there, HELL NO. Is Canada's politics perfect, no, but I honestly do feel like we have more say in our government and more choice.\n\n Over the last few the loss of woman's rights in the US is horrifying. I am not a breed mare I should have the choice if I want to have the child or not. \n\nLGBTQIA+ rights have also taken a nasty turn in the US.\n\nYou have had more mass shootings than days of the year this year, that's terrifying. We've had 2 this year and both of them have happened in the last month. I believe its been over a decade since out last school shooting.

As a Canadian here are my views on the problems here:\n1.Government waste/spending\n2. Insane taxes, we literally pay taxes on our tax here. When you add it all up the lower tax brackets after their 15% gst pay about 45% of their income in taxes alone. Provinces like Nova Scotia are disgusting when it comes to the tax they pay. \n3. Easy immigration, we should consider immigrants based on what they can do for Canada, we don't need hundreds of thousands who can't work or refuse to work. It's a strain on the system. The immigration also artificially increases housing costs.\n4.Government corruption, it's part of why the taxes are so high. It's also part of the recent hyperinflation Canada has suffered. Just look up Trudeaus WE charity Scandall or SNC Lavalin Scandal, some even say Trudeau was getting kickbacks from the vaccine which I have yet to see evidence of but I personally believe it. \n5. Politically illiterate voters and propaganda, here in Canada the government likes to keep it's people uninformed and how they do it is through propaganda. The Liberals have every major news source in Canada in their pocket and in order for you to get news that isn't influenced by them you have to specifically search for them by name, those include Rebel News, TFI Global, and True North. Almost everything else is incredibly biased, they selectively report the news and in many cases outright lie. This causes extreme political illiteracy in it's population.\n6. Housing rules, here in Canada there are some really stupid bylaws like the main floor of your primary dwelling must be 900sqft in some areas, plus building codes prevent cheap construction of homes. You could have a tiny home on piers and it wouldn't cost much but because of our laws and codes it's impossible. You need a proper foundation, footings, building permits, ad in order to get a permit you need to submit blueprints, etc. You can't just buy a prefab building set it on piers and live in it. That'd be too easy, that'd make housing affordable and the government wouldn't like that. \n7. Woke indoctrination centers, The public education system here is all about putting in regular kids and pumping out future Liberal voters. It's a mess.\n8. You can't defend yourself, In Canada you aren't allowed to carry a weapon for self defense. If a criminal breaks into your home you are supposed to do everything you can to escape rather than defend your property. Criminals have more protection under the law than the law abiding citizens. \n9. Low wages, because of immigration wages are low compared to the USA for most jobs in most locations\n10. Thigs cost more in Canada than the USA after taking into consideration currency conversion rates, even things manufactured in Canada\n11. The cold. Nobody likes the cold for the 4-6 months of the year that the higher populated areas of the country have it. The more densely populated areas also tend to be the warmest. \n12. Fascist leaders. It's no secret Justin Trudeau and the Liberals are fascists\n13. Governmental links to the WEF, you'll own nothing and you'll be happy or so their add said. The truth is Canadians can afford less and less under Liberal leadership which is no surprise since Justin Trudeau and Chrystia are supporters of the WEF.

Immigrated to Canada 15 years ago, and I, too, experienced the problem with Canadian labour experience to get a job in my field even after make some studies here, but in the end, I made it. Finally what made me stay here was not job or making-money opportunities, it was Canadian values, culture, landscapes, less crowded cities, life quality and quietness. I love this country. I like USA to visit though.
