I am Canadian born citizen, unemployed, 2 and a 1/2 years. Because I didn't know that the Trudeau government in 2022 when I lost my job due to the pandemic was allowing them to import T.F.W's as executive assistance my level of experience into my industry. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get an interview withe almost 20yrs of experience and I was trying every trick in the book but a week ago I learned that they brought in over 2 years 300,000 admins at all levels from E.A's to receptionist now. So imagine my horror and shock to learn that 5 days ago. But you walk in everywhere. And it's just Indians from every part of South Asia and I am all for immigration I'm a child of an immigrant, but immigration is a science When dealing with a country like Canada, where it's designed to be many cultures like a 20 bean soup. You're supposed to try and keep it at being a 20 bean soup and within 3 years it became like a 2 bean soup. It's a science where you're replacing your dead, and then you bump it up like 10% to grow the population slowly with GDP so that you don't have so many Canadians. Unemployed and temporary foreign workers that come are employed. So everybody's contributing but the way they did the open door everybody bum rush. And over run the country. Our economy is now 60% dependent on people who aren't residents. They're temporary which means when they leave our fake economy is actually only built on 40% to 30% of Canadians. That's an economy that will crash because it's never supposed to be weighted that way, Canadians are supposed to be 60% to 70% of the economy and foreign workers are to be the rest. So we're in trouble when they finally go home, but they need to put a moratorium on PR's, Work permits, LIMA's, T.F.W's and restrict all educational institutions on how many Students they can accept so private schools don't scam students by taking their money then telling them they don't have a seat for them to attend class that is just criminal and do so untill end of 2025 and then review status again for 2026. So Canadians can have a shot at getting work and then slowly introduce them back in as needed for proper slow population growth and not just a free-for-all ability to work anywhere in the whole country. Major cities and everything like that. So people like me can finally get back to work.

You go, girl!!\nI immigrated to Canada myself and now thinking my kids will be leaving makes me cringe. This nation was destroyed in 9 years. The socialist policies are backed up with data on how poor we are performing and how discontented people are. I will never vote for Liberals again. Their (supported by the NDP) victimization of the vulnerable narrative doesn't help with true productivity and destroys the backbone of a nation which is the upper and middle class. Without a strong supportive society, the lower class suffers. The government's interference in distributing wealth all it does is bring distortion and chaos. Inflation crushes salaries, you cut expenses and stop consuming, companies with high fiscal pressure stop investing, and cut labour; specific groups get help with subsidies while many don't get a cent and have to finance it all; privileges are still rampant. Guess what? Economy collapses. Wake up Canada! For how long are you going to continue to protect this government? Demand JT to resign.

The caregiver program should go through reform. With the current immigration law with giving the caregivers Permanent Residency putting a lot of pressure on the employers who are working hard and paying taxes to bring the caregivers in Canada. The caregivers are taking advantages by exercising their rights as soon as they lands in Canada. Where is the protection for the employers who are working round the clock to bring the caregivers but the caregivers are abusing the systems and goodwills of the employers. The caregiver program should be like it was before when the caregivers needed to work here for 10 years to get the permanent residency. Otherwise it is becoming difficult for the employers to retain the newly hired caregivers under the new program as the caregivers are getting PR as soon as they lands. Employers need protection. Employers brings caregivers from foreign lands and as soon as they arrive the caregivers can quit and change employer and start exercising their rights as PR - it has to stop to protect the employer because of the employers hard earned money and goodwill they can land here, employers should not suffer for their goodwill and needs.\nWe Canadian employers need workers not the abusers.\nThe caregivers should be brought in temporary work permit and sent back or give PR after 10 years after they contribute to Canada but not award them with PR as soon as they land. Otherwise the lack of workers in this field will never be fulfilled. Many people from poor countries like Philippines are waiting eagerly to come even with low wages, because the money they get is huge compared to any third world countries.\nThis is not justice to indian students who came here to study are preparing to contribute are being sent back.

How quickly companies like Nortel were totally destroyed and then we have a weird quickest tendency of something like Huawei. With obviously knock off the products that took a hell a lot of research and development for companies like Nortel who actually did the work to make. Let's see how well they're actually able to innovate when they actually no longer have access to the cookie jar. I’m in Canada for past 2 years. Despite its negatives what I appreciate the most is work life balance and women’s safety. Life is difficult for international students but for those who come here with PR or jobs it’s a little better for them. Anti India sentiments are mostly among Khalistanis. There is absolute logic for non Khalistani Canadians to not like Indians- the quality of people who have been coming here are not exactly the ‘brains’ and crème de la crème of India. They lack basic etiquette and civic sense and have been caught shoplifting, evading fares on public transit. We have no one to blame other than ourselves for this. Otherwise Canadians are very polite and friendly to immigrants. I’ve never had strangers holding doors to public places open for me back in India which I have experienced here.

No, they don’t have a right to stay in Canada. Once the Visa expires they go back to their country. These visas are ridiculous, stop handing them out like Chiclets. student visas should never have been linked to permanent resident pathways, 3/4 of these people haven’t seen the inside of a classroom since they landed here. My dad came to this country in the 80s; I was born here. I had a lovely childhood in the 90s and 2000s. My parents bought a house in suburban Toronto with just a high school education. They sent us to public school, which was perfectly good. I was looking forward to buying my own house, etc. I loved this country. Even back then, people were reticent about being too nationalistic. But I was PROUD to be Canadian even though my parents were not born here. I thought of myself as Canadian, I sang O Canada proudly, I celebrated Remembrance Day in a solemn way even as a child, and I would have died for the country if we had been at war. \n\nWell, not anymore. I don't recognize this country after years of Trudeau. I can never buy a house here, the cost of groceries is burdening me, and the younger people in my family can't even find part time jobs as students. People are increasingly rude, crime has me on edge, it's congested. Freedom of speech, which was taken for granted when I was very young, is dwindling away. Churches have been burnt, Trudeau has incited hatred against people who disagree with him. I'm actually moving to the USA to work there, so that will ease a lot of these issues. (I know it's not perfect down there, but having spent a lot of time there, I can see many things are better). But I'm sad. I'm sad for my family that still lives here. I'm sad that the country I once loved is gone.

These whole Canada thing was a Scam from both sides. Canadian University needed Dollars from foreigners and the foreigners needed Canadian residency. Both sides never focused to develop any skill which can then prepare these students to participate in the development of the Canadian economy. Indeed most of them landed as low pay unskilled labours who then became liability on Canadians rather than any asset. These days you do not need a degree to develop any kind of IT skill. One get develop IT skills online free of cost or at minimal cost. Come back to your country and focus on developing any skill or if not interested in studying then do some business.

Honestly speaking, I never thought that there’s a lot of issues going on in Canada, during the college seminar, we were told that there’s good education (which is completely true), good pay rates for work, good housing and good society. After coming to Canada, I realized the rents are sky high, homeless people everywhere (it’s not their fault, they are homeless because of the government), drugs & weeds, everything’s expensive, high tax, couldn’t able to get even a low wage jobs? if I know these things are going to happen then I won’t come to Canada, also I don’t have enough money to pay back my education debt and I can’t go home without earning a single penny, I’m trying my best to spread awareness about the real issues that’s going on in here and I hope people will think twice before coming to Canada. \n\nOther than that, Canada?? is a beautiful country with amazing people, places and culture, I would love to be a part of it but if the situation is not gonna improve then I prefer to go back to India??

Never mind they get spots in our schools at the expense of young Canadians who have to wait for seats in colleges and Uni’s.And since when do foreign students have a right to stay where they studied . Most Canadians I know who studied abroad were to come back home after graduation. I understand they may have been lied to but Canadian citizens are already having a hard time and these students are taking away jobs from our young Canadians ! Coffee shops have up to 80 percent of their employees are foreign while Canadians are homeless,jobless and houseless ! Why should Canada welcome foreign graduates when no other country in the world would settle for that ! It is just insulting and disgusting ! Go home and make it better for you at your home ! Can’t recount the stories I heard of Canadian students put on wait lists cause the foreign students had priority ! Just disgusting !

Canada never guaranteed Permanent Residency for all international students from the beginning of their arrival, once completed their course they must have to return back to their home countries. Students know this they agreed it and landed getting PR is a previlage but students starts strikes and protests that's worsened overall situation.

I moved from Canada to the US in the 1990s. I never looked back.

I am from India and been living in Canada for 18 years. I am living here with my family and I am so grateful to this country and respect the country and the freedom I have. The thing is homelessness is a fact that is coming from the most broken families. And here cannabis legal. I could see most white peoples don’t want to go to work, even there is enough work for them. And as a country to grow, they need youngsters for the workforce, but unfortunately Canadians people don’t have enough kids to support the country. And the kids are grown from the broken families maybe ending up in the streets. Indians are most of them only marry once and keep their marriage life till the end. So many divorce can ruin the life too. So the students coming here in Canada, how they get visa, Government don’t know that. We can’t blame them, because this is the offer they get from here. \nBut even though I am from India, I have enough from Indian people here in Canada. I always questioned the people from India either you guys respect the culture here or please go back. The reason I love Canada is Canadians are so pleasant and so helpful. I don’t like not only Indians but anyone who is coming to Canada, if you love the country that the country you are not living please leave and don’t mess up this country. Leave your Culture back home. Your festival do it inside of your house don’t block the streets. Keep your Gods inside your home, everyone is not enjoying that what you doing. The worst thing I felt, no respect nowadays and nuisance, late night parties no respect for neighbours and no cleanliness. Because of some people we all are get treated same. Hindus wanted to bring their religion here, Muslims wanted to bring their religion, buddhists wanted their religion here. Can’t blame Christians because Canada is a Christian based country and I never saw them blocking the Road or streets. So anyone so obsessed please leave and enjoy your religion at home where you born.

I opened a business in Canada with a partner in 1974. By 1985, in spite of having a successful business, I moved to the US in 1985, and have never looked back. Canada was moving in a direction in the 80’s, that I could see was no longer a fit for me. I never believed that Canada would sink as low as it has, but I have to admit, compared to the US, it was becoming far too regulated, and far too Liberal for my liking.\nThe open immigration policy for me, was a complete deal breaker, and its current shift to being a Muslim, East Indian, Chinese, and African country, would not have worked for me, as a Canadian Protestant of English, Irish, and French descent. I know for a fact that the Chinese are extensively involved in the current synthetic drug crisis, and although there are many law abiding Chinese in Canada, they serve to camouflage the Chinese underworld that exists in Canada, as they do in Mexico, that allows them to pipeline these drugs to Canada, which is being destroyed by this crisis. All said, Canada is becoming a crime ridden, drug infested Muslim shithole, where Canadians can look forward to sharing this demise with their Chinese, and East Indian neighbours.

Trudeau has ruined Canada with its open door immigration policy. When trump was elected I rember him saying Canada welcomes you and ?he had people coming from roxem road like crazy . What was he thinking with his over immigration. And then there’s so called diploma mills from no name colleges made things even more worse. Canada needs to send international students back to India when they are fi disused there diploma . A study visa was never a promise to permit residency. If that didn’t make things worse you had the so called international students lined up at food banks to get free food how embarrassing that food is meant for people\nLiving below the poverty line and as a student on the application you have to check that little box saying you have enough money to feed yourself.

Ohhh ya mr.president..... first you open the doors for such students, collect their money ( 28 billion ) which is more than canadas military budget and now you say we dont need them...This is hypocrisy.... The stringent policies had to be in place right from inception. I left Canada finally after many many years of debating for myself. It’s the best thing I ever did. I have a really good job, that pays me more than three times my monthly overhead. After literally struggling in Canada for 30+ years as an adult trying to keep a job amongst colleagues that hate you for everything that I was and wasn’t, had and didn’t have. I’m very happy that I left and can go to work peacefully everyday, without needing to feel like I’m a piece of crap that doesn’t have the right to exist. I came to Canada at age 12 with my parents. And was always called names, always under minded, overlooked, put down, bullied and never had a single job that also contributed to my pension. When I left Canada, immigration Canada emailed me daily for three months telling me to come back to Canada IMMEDIATELY lol. Because my home country wasn’t safe enough to live in. I’m from Belgium. It’s much safer, friendlier, empathic and prosperous than Canada ever was

Lived in the US for 4 years and bought 5 rental properties in my home country. Now I'm retired at the age of 34. It was the best decision I have ever made. I am now building a business and want to expand to Canada for my actual retirement. I'm amazed by the check list that goes on in people's minds. You can't predict the future and even your Soviet union stopped at 5 year plans. I left Canada on a whim in 1994. I never thought I couldn't come back if I wanted or needed to. My bet is you met a guy in Serbia (let's say) and want to be in a reasonable place where it's financially possible to build a home and start a family. Being born in Saskatchewan as well I agree that Canada has suffered immensely in the last decade. I spent the majority of my adult life in Vancouver back when you felt safe everywhere you ventured. Not now, I'm socked at the decline especially the violence and drugs. I've lived in a few other countries over the past 30 years none have surpassed what has happen in Canada. I currently live in the middle east and have never felt safer. The taxation is crazy, the health care system is substandard and getting worse. For those who want to retire, Canada is not very friendly and typically way overpriced. I'm seeing a trend over the last 10 years of people opting for a warmer more friendly climate to spend what should be your years to enjoy life. Something I fear impossible in Canada's current climate!

If I didn't have family and other obligations in Ontario I would have left a long time ago and never returned. My biggest issue is that the culture as eroded so much that there is no sense of community anymore. Everyone seems to be competing with each other at all times. Trying to make friends in North America as a whole is brutal. Every time I go abroad it is very refreshing to take part in cultures where people actually look out for one another. When I come back to Canada I always feel starved of what is important in life.

The middle class has never had it good. A very small group of people do really well in life (due to TONS of different factors) and the rest not so much. It's been like that from the dawn of humanity. I grew up in the 90s in Canada, and everyone in these types of videos is acting like middle class people back in the day were living this baller, lavish lifestyle travelling the world and driving luxury cars. Ha! They were clipping coupons, and ordering whatever the special was whenever they went out to family restaurants. They drove Dodge Caravans, and lived paycheck-to-paycheck. I was one of them, as were my friends growing up. I was lucky enough to find something that helped me get out of all that. Sad reality of the world is and has always been, the rich can enjoy life and the rest take what's given to them. I'm not saying that's good, but it is what it is.

For me a Québécois, we missed the boat in 1995. Too bad if you don’t like it but we got screwed by newly arrived immigrants back then and we are being drowned by immigrants now. The difference is that you too in the ROC are being drowned. I am a Quebec nationalist, it’s in my guts. My family has roots going back to New France. Canada has always been an imposition for us just as we to the First Nations I guess. That’s unfortunately neither here nor there at this point in history and I apologize for it. I could blame the Trudeau government but any government in Canada would do the same for neoliberal/conservative ideological reasons. We have a neoconservative government right now in Quebec. They have practically killed our nation from the inside in order to discredit the social democratic and socialist tendencies that did so much to develop this nation. These are the ones who would literally step on their grandmothers neck to attain higher status in life. Since for me this place is where I feel the most a part of and have understood long ago that the ROC had done everything to negate us as a people a nation and the dream of an independent country with close ties to the ROC is and probably never was in the cards, I have started hoping for some kind of political union with mother France since it has become painfully clear that Canada as a strong bicultural self respecting truly independent country is a bygone notion. Just look at our military, it’s a monumental farce. Look at the insane levels of immigration, we cannot support this!! PERIOD!!! Look at way we genuflect to the US’s economic visions without questioning anymore. The Quebec people are a nation, Canada unfortunately is only a notion. For me getting out of Canada is also a reality except since this place never was one of a cash cow there only to send funds to some family elsewhere I believe we Québécois and Québécoise, with the respect for the First Nations that we have always owed them, need to go our way. I came back to Canada in 2022 after 20 years living abroad, and it's been a mixed bag. Getting a good job is extremely difficult as international experience is rarely factored into potential employers decisions to hire - even if the companies you've worked for are Fortune 500. If you didn't work for that company in Canada, good luck getting the same position. You'll be working in a junior position despite your previous job title. My wife is currently going through this. She went from Project Manager at one for largest companies in the world to junior developer at a small company. Pay is.......not great.\n\nI've been lucky with having a lot of support of family and friends. A lot of the clients I've started to work with in my profession came through people I know. I never would have got these opportunities on my own in that amount of time. It would have taken years. Nepotism played a big part.\n\nTo come to Canada, and start a new life without a solid support system would be absolutely brutal right now. I got really lucky, but my situation isn't normal. I wouldn't recommend anyone (Canadian or immigrant) to come back right now if they're been gone for a long time. The rent alone is enough to turn anyone away.

Scottish Canadian here. I left canada 20 years ago, for Asia, and have never moved back. I go home (southern Ont) for holidays and am shocked at what the country has become. Currently riding out life in Thailand and love it. If you can get out, and won't regret it, you should try. Canada is absolutely shocking now as a (post) nation.

I was born in Montreal in the mid 50s and growing up it truly was a free country with plenty of opportunity. Graduating from Sir George Williams University I was able to purchase a brand new Mustang and live in my own new construction 2 bedroom luxury apt. Food and going to clubs was never an issue and as I had worked during the summers, I had no student debt. Most Canadians back then were from European backgrounds and safety was never an issue. In the year 2000 I left for the United States for good. I worked , lived and retired in a small university town and have a conceal carry permit to protect myself even here. I remember when you didn't even need a passport to go back and forth to Canada . The great replacement has hit Europe the hardest but Canada is a close second. If I were to leave here it would probably be for Thailand or the Philippines where there is a reasonable cost of living and safer conditions. I feel for you as I too can never go home, not the home I came from.

I live in Canada over 30 years, and I never accepted this country as my home, Canada wasn't my choice. I wanted stay in Europe in Germany, country that was stolen from Germans, I am from Europe and there is my home we wore sent far away to another continent from our own, far from families and tradition, culture, religion, Europeans people wore replaced with different ethnic group of people from different continents with different values, religions, cultures and traditions. They have nothing in common with Europe, they even do not look like European people, Canada is a country without face, without culture, without religion, and what is the worse without any value of morality, to the people living in Canada dollar is their value, dollar is their God, beside Canada was always overrated, Canada is empty of beautiful things like monuments, statues, sculptures, beautiful buildings, bridges, parks, cathedrals, churches only emptiness a sad feeling of having no emotion or purpose only work and work days and nights, take mortgage, take loan, pay back and take another loan so you must be all your life in debt, there is nothing for you soul, and finally if you surrounded with ugliness you became animals, Canada is a perfect place for those kind of people that they do not care for beautiful things, and they keep dying like an animals.

Every place in the world is seeing a rise of costs for everything. I wouldn't trade my life in Canada for any other place. Everything I like in life is here.I am 72 now. I never have a problem seeing a doctor. I call up and sometime get an appointment the next day. I had a cardiac arrest, was brought back to life and had triple bypass surgery several days later and it cost me about $15 for an ambulance ride from one hospital to another, where the surgery was done. I don't wish to move anywhere where all the sports I can watch or play is soccer or cricket. Weather does not bother me.

Now memory came back to me when I was in Vancouver for 3 days and enjoyed my time over Canada in 2015 for a concert, Canada was the first country I've visited outside of the United States I'll never for get it the people where amazing very polite there was a moment in my life that I wanted to move to Canada now thinking over my decision after some years later I'm glad I didn't. I can't believe how bad it has gotten I'm now sure its gotten worse now. I left Canada in 2000 for an attractive job opportunity in Belgium. I had been workng in Canada for 20 yrs at that time and all of my education was completed in Canada. I did not leave Canada due to any major dissatisfaction with the country, but rather a professional opporunity that arose and the chance to experience Europe as a resident rather than a tourist. I never expected to stay in Europe long term, but one job led to another and I stayed on in Belgium until 2017 when I moved to Spain for my (semi-)retirement. Although I rented out the condo I owned in Canada from 2000-2022, after 5 years living in Spain, I decided I am not moving back to live in Canada and sold it. I have no regrets having left Canada when I did, nor do I regret my move from Belgium to Spain. I still visit Canada about once a year to visit family and friends, but a move back to my homeland is not something I would now seriously consider. \n\nGood luck with your move and settlement in your new home, wherever that is!

Born and raised in Canada but left in 1999. I have only been back 3 times and although I retired in 2015, I have decided to not move back, maybe never. I am absolutely heart broken about it because I love the country I grew up in. Been traveling full time ( no home base ) since retirement and we keep looking for a place to call home. We are ending a 2+ year stay in South America and are now headed to Japan, just for the heck of it, change of scenery. We are not too keen on hot and humid but we still want to visit SEA. Then any goes on for 20 minutes building up where she's moving to ( never reveals it ) but admits if this secret place doesn't work out she'll run back home.
