Diversity and minorities acceptance is relatively better in Canada. As an immigrant, the US would have been a big yes had it been thr 1990s but sadly, the perception to US changed drastically after then and would not want to live in the US even if given a job offer in Boston ( a beautiful city i fell in love with). Just because of what is happening on the political scene. If I need to leave Canada, it would be for Europe where work/life balance, public transit and culture of enjoying life prevails. American corporate culture is depressing.

These people need to learn how to come to America legally and stop demanding entry for free. Its not fair for people who go through the legal process. I filed a petition for my mom and sister to come to the US and paid more than $1k. We’re still waiting and it’s been more than a year!

i won't even visit amurica. the fact this is 5 days old and the guys making the video doesn't seem to realize there were over 200 mass shootings in the US in between january and may of this year. i don't see a need to watch the rest of it.

I would move to the US in a minute if it wasn't so difficult to immigrate. At least in the US you do have health care. Health care is practically unavailable here and now they are going to pass a lot to limit our access to vitamins and natural health supplements which I need to survive.

You hit the nail on the head about Canadians being afraid of guns. You are too accustomed to the violence of guns in American society. Canadians are aghast that USA does not protect children and we are utterly thankful and appreciative that we do not need to worry about the safety of kids. That provides us a sense of peace. I used to enjoy the states (been to many), but I won't even visit now. Your politics have gone screwy.

These two are Canadians so they are showing you the flowers garden of Canada and the sewage in US. Nobody should consider this as their immigration advice. You need to find an immigration lawyer and do your own research before making any serious decisions. Canada’s tax and unemployment rates are much higher than in the US. It is also freaking cold in general and they have extremely long winter which means you will be locked inside your house for the majority of the year especially if you are a senior citizen.

I’m a US/Canadian citizen and my entire family live in the US. They always ask me to move back. No Way, I love my home country but with the Health Care cost, crime, and political issues, just doesn’t compare. \n\nMy Step-Father, who was a retired US Marine, was denied much needed medical treatment for Myelodysplasia. When he passed, my mother lost everything, house, car, everything. Had to claim bankruptcy. This would not have happened in Canada.

Oh, hell no! And further to that, if I was visiting the US and got sick enough that I might need a hospital, I would do my damnedest to get back to Canada. I have heard Americans say that the healthcare is very good, as long as you have money. But I don’t trust it because Americans have been brainwashed to believe that the US is exceptional in every way (sorry guys, but it’s extremely obvious to the rest of the world), yet I have heard too many stories about things like people picking up C. Diff or other drug-resistant infections in hospitals there.\n\nI spent about two weeks in the hospital in February. You know what it cost me? Absolutely nothing. Well, I did have to pay for taking an ambulance later. But the hospital stay itself cost me nothing. Neither did the food they fed me in there, or the medication they gave me.\n\nMayyyybe if you guys got universal health care (it shouldn’t be tied to your job), and stopped shooting each other so much. You definitely have some better weather. Oh, and if you all toned down the religion a bit. Annnd stopped trying to play world police while simultaneously bombing other countries into oblivion to steal their resources. That’s been going on for far too long, and I don’t think the average American citizen even realizes it.

Americans are in the crapper. Many of us live on the streets. We need to be more like Japan as to border policy, and treat us first. I don’t know why it’s a big deal, many other countries have the same border policy. America isn’t inconsiderate for having them, it’s just the government already doesn’t help us live. They already take our money and force us on streets. If more immigrants came in, none of us would have a home. Economy would skyrocket greatly but in the wrong ways. More crime because I’m sure there are immigrants who really need help, but among them are also the ones who don’t follow laws. Which is why we have legal immigration, to weed out the criminals from people who need salvation.

OH HECK! No way, I would not move to the USA. I would move to many European Countries way before moving to the USA. First of all, our health care is a fact we do not need to worry. But visiting friends in European Countries a few months ago, and going back again to visit them, yup going to France, UK, Germany, Austria and Russia. Yes, American citizens need to be taken care of first before we let any more people into the country, but let's keep thinking about this... Why are so many people trying to escape Venezuela? Could it possibly be the cripplingly sanctions the US has imposed on Venezuela for decades? There is no better example of how sanctions don't work and only make the population of the country suffer and not the leaders. Why are people trying to leave Mexico, which is a country where guns are 100% illegal? If you guessed violence from the drug cartels being one of the main reasons, good job. Now, why do drug cartels in Mexico even exist? To supply the gigantic appetite that Americans have. Where are the cartels getting their guns from? Once again the answer is Mexico. If you are someone saying Mexico needs to fix itself, just remember that they have the one of the worst neighbors ever. We have no problem giving Israel $3 billion every year and sending our military all over the world to bring democracy to people who never wanted it, but our neighbors to the south? Fuck em. I lived in the US; Virginia for 13 years. For the most part the people are lovely... just like a lot of places. If you treat people with kindness; they usually return that kindness. At least that is my experience. Mind you, I came home in 2006. When I lived there the political climate was completely different. I would absolutely NOT move back to the US. When I came home to Canada; I was so grateful because I had to endure 2 years without Healthcare when I really needed it. I lived on pain pills at that time. I was in a wheelchair by 2008 and so grateful that I was home where my country took care of me when I was unable to work, or even walk. \n\nPolitics has changed so much since then. It was always kind of poler, but when Donald Trump entered the scene; it has become just awful. Again, I love the Americans for the most part, however there is so much racism, homophobia and hate displayed in the country right now. I pray every day that Donald Trump does not become president again. I fear for the United States. I love her as a sister to Canada; she is. I want her people safe...

The single issue I would have would be the healthcare one. But as of now, this year of our lord 2023, Canada is on a slip-n-slip straight to socialist hell. And I would have a difficult time finding any other reason not to choose the US. Even with the health care, since the pandemic - and possibly because of mass firings - our system has been so stressed it's now actually as dire as Americans have always believed it was. On top of that, people in need of life saving surgery's are being refused if they haven't been jabbed, people are literally bring left to die. We have a housing crisis and a homelessness crisis, so what does our government do? Brings in a bunch of economic migrants to further stress our system. All in all, the US would be a much better option today.

The US does have a higher pay... but for me to go live in the US the pay would need to be so much that I'd be a millionaire in a few years. Just the rather laid-back culture of Canadian compared to a lot of other countries makes me much happier in Canada than the US (and I like the cold, so a lot of climates in the US wouldn't be to my liking either).\n\nEdit: And just fyi, the child mortality rate of being shot in the US is 3.7 to every 100,000 children in 2021. Canada, which is second mostly due to how closely tied the two country are, is at less than 1, and most other advanced countries are less than half that (with Germany at about 0.1).

I'd be hard pressed to move to USA cuz your medical system prices, wages are less and so many people in a much smaller landscape. Id go for your constitution (1A, 2A) absolutely but Biden is a BIG turnoff for sure, your housing is way cheaper, your taxes are cheaper but... in Canada there is way more space where you can go and not see anybody besides moving to Northern Alaska, Montana or North Dakota. There are PROS and CONS to living in USA/Canada but I would move for dual citizenship and if I had guaranteed medical coverage but still keep a place in Canada to escape back to in case your country imploded under your current government or if I needed medical attention. It would be way better if you had a normal POTUS like Trump imo. Your money is at least worth the face value on the dollar bill... Cdn cash is like worth 50 cents US... we are like a peso currently.

Why can't they come here legally?? My grandparents crossed the boarder and became legal Citizens. Followed the laws adopted the country and didn't try to change the country. They learned the language and worked migrant jobs until they found better jobs. They encouraged us all to stay in school and better ourselves. We are mostly all college educated and we learned so much from the experience. We didn't need hand outs and we didn't need loan forgiveness. The country is making huge mistakes right now and they spend like there ate no consequences but the real ignorance come in those who support the spending...

When I was young, late 50's early 60's, I was jealous of people living in the US. We'd go to my Dad's professional conferences in various areas and everyone seemed to drive such expensive cars and live in such big houses. Now I know that's just window dressing. You have to look at what's underneath. I didnt see the poverty and the racism. Canada unfortunately has people who would like to take Canada down the same road as the US. We have good medical care, a social net, respect human and reproductive rights, attempt to keep religion out of politics, gun control (a pro hunter here!) , fair school funding (the whole province, not just district), and the list could go on. Is it perfect? No but its a whole lot better than the US. We Canucks just need to keep fighting for improvements and it isnt an American model for most of them. \nWe had always planned to take holidays and see various parts of the US. No more. The lack of gun laws is really scary, especially when combined with hate. We're not timid travellers. \n\nMove there... maybe California .

We considered it but the lack of universal health care and the inflated costs associated with the necessity of medical turned us away. A country that large doing great economically really needs to evaluate how they spend tax dollars. Healthcare should be top priority

As a German with a chronic illness my top no. 1 reason to not move to the US would be the same: How the heck would I pay for my medical needs without going broke? The other reasons are just as valid. The political climate is terrible with too much extremism everywhere, there's lots of bigotry and intolerance towards marginalized groups and that insanity with weapons everywhere, the secular state being undermined by religious zealots and a few other things would have me screaming all day. I'm also always baffled about how much of a multiverse the US are in the sense that everyone just lives their life in their own bubble. It's sometimes literally like every little city or county is its own state, again with lots of negative side effects like nepotism and corruption because the sheriff and county judge are cousins or such. I'm sure it would indeed depend a lot where you live and how you earn your living, but for the most part it just sounds and looks unattractive to move to the US unless you're part of the upper echelons of society and need not worry about any of these things.

There was a time I would have. My father and Grandfather grew up in New York city as children and spoke highly of the States. Since 2016 I would seriously not consider living there. The gun violence that occurs their has gotten to the point that it has to be especially eggregious before it makes the news. The cavalier attitude towards guns and gun saftey is disturbing even from your politicians. it would be a recipe for loosing your privalege to own a firearm in Canada if you did what many of us see americans do with their guns. Open carry. Not allowed. Concealed carry. Not allowed. There are courses you need to take and pass on firearm saftey and gun use here, before you are given the privaledge of owning a firearm. Those firearms need to be stored properly or carried in cases at all times when not in use \n\nThat being said I have done those courses and I own guns. Rifles to be precise and a shot gun I use for hunting food. Pistols are not easy to get here and you can only use them on a range. The only people legally carrying pistols in public are the police.\n\nHealthcare is fine if you are young and healthy, with a job. If i showed up at 53 with a handfull of pre-existing conditions, I would be in bad shape.\n\nYour record on lgbtq+ and a woman's right to bodily autonomy is back slipping to the 1950's. Some politcians (not sure what level, state or federal) are looking to even reverse the position on interracial marriages for pete sake.\n\nI think if Voter appathy is allowed to continue, the vocal minority of people who want this will get their way despite the fact that the polls suggest the majority of americans hate what is happening

As a truck driver that has been almost everywhere in the US and Canada I would agree that I would never live in the USA. I do vacation there on occasion, New York, Disney World. There is way too much violence, politics, racism and people are in to much of a hurry to be out front. Everyone seems to need to be number 1. Great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. Ironically I do spend about 8 to 10 days a month working there. I find the people on the west coast of the US friendlier than the east coast. It is the opposite in Canada, east coast friendlier than the west coast. Just my opinion and I have lived on both coasts in Canada.

Shut the border PLEASE!!! Our own people need help i.e OUR VETERANS!!!!!! These people want to get in for the wrong reasons - they know they'll get everything free unlike immigrants that have come in the past and not expected anything from here except the opportunity to work. Here in NYC they get money, cell phones, free housing, free food, free food - we the citizens are paying for this and many of us get nothing free.

I've always wanted to live in the US, so many happy vacations there as a child and teen. Sadly now due to the health care situation, there's no way I could. If someone makes a lot of money and can afford private insurance and the drugs they need, lucky for them. Especially as a diabetic, the price of insulin is around 5 x in the US what it is here. I don't earn enough to afford the drugs I need if I lived in the US, add in every three month blood work, dr visits, for a self employed person, it's just not doable on what I earn. \n\nAn American I talk to said one of his co workers was being laid off and the co worker was a diabetic and he didn't know what he was going to do without the health insurance the company provided him. It's insane health insurance is tied to employment in the US. people that are self employed would have huge private insurance bills, and people that get laid off or are fired, they could be taking thousands of dollars of drugs a month and all of a sudden it's gone with the job. My mom wouldn't even let us go to the US for a weekend without getting out of the country medical insurance coverage.

I get better pay in US, more opportunities. I know there are places that are dangerous, but I am smart. But because I am a Canadian, I need not apply for a permit or green card.

As a Canadian. Not a snowball's chance in hell. There is nowhere in the USA that Canada doesn't already have. Oh wait, we have FREE healthcare for starters. Whenever I see a problem with no end in sight, because the problem is rooted in a different country, I don’t think that the solution is to let everybody in. We don’t need that many undocumented workers in America. This is an infestation of human beings being driven towards us from a country that they can’t even live in because of the violence. That’s not our problem to house people who can’t house themselves because their country is so fucked up. housing them here is a temporary solution. For all the amazing things the US has to offer, right now we don't even want to visit there, let alone move there. We've talked about it a lot, but nope. In Canada, generally speaking (although there are exceptions to every rule) we have no idea what political leaning our neighbors favor. Political campaigns last no more than 51 days; they do not start the day after the last election and go on for years. This way, elected officials actually do some work instead of campaigning. Right now, the politics in the US, as well as the judiciary, are literally insane. Gun violence in the US is insane, as is the attitude towards guns. It shouldn't take a shooting that affects you personally to make you care about it, and it's not just at schools. The US has had 28 mass killings, with 140 victims, in 6 months... but the problem is that no one down there cares about that enough to stop it, or even discuss ways to stop it. The politics is so sold out to corporations that what is good for the people just doesn't matter. It is capitalism run amok. Environmental protections? They are an inconvenience, and most of them were rolled back a few years ago under the presidency of He Who Must Not Be Named. So politics, elections, shootings... but wait. There's more. I have a wonderful friend in the US who has amazing health care, and yet when he got cancer, he was screwed. We do pay a health care premium up here, but it is a drop in the bucket compared to what people in the US pay for private insurance. Yes, you have the best hospitals in the world, but it doesn't matter if you can't afford to walk in the door. Now dump the intolerance -- racism, homophobia, religious zealots, misogyny (yes, I am talking women's rights, equal pay, access to health care, etc) -- throw in the crazies with guns, and now ask the question again. I absolutely know that Canada is not perfect, and that the tolerances and attitudes towards all these subjects differs from region to region, but overall we are a country that tries to respect the rights and needs of others, that has empathy for others, that wants to help others, and that is a pretty firm foundation to make us want to stay here. (please don't interpret this as all Americans and all areas of the US have no respect etc... but the predominant issues of health care, politics, religion, corporate greed, and violence, now all supported by a bat-crap crazy SCOTUS, sadly spills and taints it all. I know there are amazing, generous, kind people all over the US, but I don't know where the crazies are or where they might pop up).

Tyler, I can see you are sadden by these reactions and I feel for you. Honestly, I love the USA and I would actually live there in a heartbeat for all the positive reasons I know and love about the US. However, as Mom and a soon to be school age child, I would hesitate because of that. Canada has its own issues and don’t let everyone fool you. It’s not some social utopia. We have problems too just different. It’s like you said you need to pick a good, safe safe to live in. The same advise applies to Canada. He stated a couple of times that you need to be strategic in where you live in the US when speaking of gun violence. I could live anywhere in Canada and not worry about my kids. Also, what can you expect from a country that believes 1/3 pound is less than 1/4 pound. Don’t believe me? Ask A&W…they tried to sell Americans a 1/3 burger for the same price as McDonalds 1/4 burger and it flopped, Even though blind taste tests proved most people thought it was a better tasting burger. Maybe if you ( Americans) had adopted the metric system, you wouldn’t have that problem. America is on of only 3 countries in the world that still use the imperial system. You keep saying that the US health care system works fine for most people unless something big or unusual happens. That’s not a working system. A health care system should be something that people who need HEALTH CARE can benefit from. If only healthy people who don’t need to use it are okay with it, it’s broken. It’s the equivalent of offering cheap cars to people but only to those who don’t have a driver’s license but, as soon as you get your license, you have to pay top price.

I turned down offers to work in the US, but have moved to the UK for a 3 year period, and a part of a year in the Netherlands. Also turned down South America and Taiwan mainly due to language. I used to travel to the US but only NY NY in the last decade. No real issues just little reason. There are many nice places in the US, but like in Mexico, needing to know where not to go seems like too much work.

With your gun culture, politics and health care system in no way would I ever move to the US. There are way to many mass shootings happening all over the US and I can't see your gun culture ever changing to lower and make it safer to live in most parts of the US. Our Canadian political system may not be perfect but it's WAY Better then the US, how in HELL can Donald ever be allowed to run again for President after what he has done and have people still support him ??? \nJust a little over 20 years ago I met and became good friends with a young woman while we were playing an MMORPG. We spent most of our free time playing different RPGs over the years together. Around 9 years ago she came down with some kind of a illness and thank goodness she had healthcare through her job. The thing is though the system couldn't/wouldn't identify what was causing her decline in health. She went through all kinds of tests but became sicker and sicker in years to come. She died in October of 2021 but before she died we both wondered if the health care system was just milking her insurance and not really taking proper care of her. BTW she lived in SLC Utah. Going back to your gun culture though she felt safe living in SLC the mall she went too had a mass shooting and she also carried a pistol in her purse. ( she had a permit ) I have never known any woman in Canada who felt that she needed to carry a gun in her purse for safety.

No, I wouldn’t. I just moved from Vancouver to London, uk. Lots of people asked why I didn’t move to New York. Main reason is health care. I’m a self employed hairstylist and no one is providing health care for me. Second is gun violence in general, mass shootings are a big issue, just because it hasn’t happened in your small city, doesn’t mean it won’t. Mass shootings are just the most extreme version of gun violence. I don’t want the people walking down the street next to me to possibly be carrying a gun on them. That is truly terrifying to me. Third is that politics are so extreme and so prevalent. Lastly the fact that women’s rights are being taken away. I absolutely cannot support a country with very little benefits and aid for those who cannot afford to have a child, that then makes them have a child. That’s the briefest way I can explain my feelings, I could go on and on, but I’ll leave it at that. \n\nThe only benefit I see in moving to the us from Canada is for certain opportunities, and those come in big cities, so there’s absolutely no point in moving to then live in a small city. \n\nI appreciate that you’re being introspective as you go through the video. Unfortunately gun violence is a massive one for many Canadians, even when they travel to the us. Now that I’m in London, I hear a lot of the same sentiments being mirrored by the Brits. No one wants to lose their health and safety just to move to the us. There is zero reason to move from here in a Canada to the US. Most Canucks would and do go to Florida in the winter. There’s SO many islands in the Caribbean that would do the job for winter snowbirding. I enjoy going on and not worrying about getting ?. PLUS, as a woman, I enjoy my rights here in Canada. Our healthcare is not the best but it’s there when needed.

There is no economy for accepting more asylum seekers. The system is already drained with Ukraine,Afghan, and other refugees. Trudeau government needs to rethink their strategy to why this helps us. \nInterest rates and inflation are to help offset the war in Ukraine. That needs to be compared to another Afghanistan. Most likely, we will be in it for the long haul and pull out if it never ends. Our country will pay the price drastically.

NEVER. I live half the year in the Yucatán in Mexico and ALWAYS a DIRECT flight to and from Canada ?? I dont even like risking flying over the USA in case we need to make an emergency stop In the US.

Tyler, Canadian here, you need to realize that the number of us who are Canadian and have seen an actual gun in real life is pretty small. I never have. Unless you are a hunter or a cop most of us have never seen one or heard one fired in real life. The thoughts of the mass shootings and school shootings is insane to us, never mind moving there I am no longer comfortable visiting. Maybe the stats reported here are incorrect but there has been a school shooting in every single state, many of your cities see more people die by gun violence in one year than we see in the entire country which averages about 250 a year I think.

US healthcare helps you if you don't need lots of healthcare help... Most people with very serious conditions can't easily work or get work as most don't want to hire people with health issues. This leaves those in dire need of health insurance without many options for health insurance that covers them. Then there's the insurance companies that will not cover you if you have any preexisting conditions.\n\nHealthy people generally have no issues with US healthcare, People who need it.. well.. usually die.

Everyone eventually needs healthcare (unless they just drop dead immediately) Our US healthcare is designed to rob us of any accumulated wealth (assuming we're middle class). Why would someone from a civilized country move in with bookburners like Moms for Liberty and give up their healthcare and personal security to do so?

I’ve lived in both countries in small towns and big cities Hell No Thanks and I would have great insurance. I remember in preschool having to do active shooter drills in the US nope. If you look at stats on gun violence and mass shootings it’s crazy. The US leads by an astronomical amount. Tyler says the US has more access to guns and although I have no idea where to get a gun I think people could get one pretty easily but we don’t need them. I can walk in the dark and not fear for my safety and Canada has only had 3 mass shootings in its whole history. Of course medical, dental, education, women’s rights, maternity and paternity leave, unemployment, help when Covid lockdown happened, clean free water in homes, housing, … on and on. America the “free” is antiquated and no longer true. Education has slid to 30 something in world rankings and Canada is in the top 3. Cost of education, daycare, child benefits ect. I could write paragraphs. Also it’s hilarious when you hear American say oh we’ll just moved to Canada like they can just drive here and settle down?!?there’s a border and you can’t illegally just move here and get a job. If you’ve lived in both countries you’d know the difference. I don’t even want to vacation there anymore since about 10 years or so ago.

My family came here legally my mother busted her ass, and tought us the same. You have to work to succeed. Not that this is easy, as knowledge, and skills need to be learned. I would think this to be the same elsewhere.

I would not be interested in moving to the US and would have to have pretty strong reasons that I needed to visit. Not a place I would consider as a holiday destination anymore.
