Moved here recently. My friend in Canada mentioned how many immigrants are ruining the place. We moved here for a better future, to work and provide a stable future for future generations, to contribute to the economy. It's sad that those who are given the opportunity to immigrate, rather trash the country than appreciating the environment, and contributing to society in some way.

Canada and U.S. are almost the same, high rate of taxes/cost of living/rent, etc. but anyone who wants more opportunity for their children, just have to be patient especially for new immigrants because when I immigrated here in the U.S. way back on 1979, I had my family with me, my wife (pregnant) and 4-daughters, ages 8, 6, 4, 2 that even I am a civil engineer and a Captain with the PA, worked in Saudi Arabia for 1 year, I started working as a security guard, then draftsman, engineering associate, manufacturing operator, etc. and now retired with my children & grandchildren enjoying their lives, have good jobs.

Just wanna present some of my views on this topic, as a indian living in Canada, a lot of points in this discussion are pretty valid. Although, the hate is also in my opinion a little misdirected.\n\nInternational students pay three, maybe even five times as much as domestic students in terms of tuition fees, and while I 100% agree that not everybody even deserves to stay here, a major portion of fault is on government. If you want to make an argument, that government or the country in general never promise the residency status in Canada, then regulate the tuition fees, make it manageable for everyone.\n\nIf you don't want to do that, fair enough, then provide opportunities, there 100% are bad apples in the population, I will not deny that! But you called them, you took the responsibility, you promised the opportunities and students paid for it. Now you hate us for that, either build the bridge both ways or don't hate.\n\nI am genuinely more frustrated with the system rather than immigrants, it is becoming a widespread trend to hate immigrants but I believe the government is just as much at a fault. If you think I am wrong, I would to hear your views on the topic, it is a pretty complex one, just be respectful.

It is just over priced now. in the 90s in SC it was so GOOD. \n\nMy only hard disagreement is our politics. Our politics are boring I agree but that is because classically in Canada, our politicians stick to the issues. We try not to make our politics a spectical like Pro Wrestling. Frankly, Canada is freer & more democratic. I'm no Trudeau fan but his government got their shit together for Covid and have really done an amazing job on the economic recovery. The thing about rent and living cost, we're earning Canadian dollars and being taxed Canadian taxes, that lowers our incomes in a way that makes those rents harder to pay.\n\nMontréal isn't a fair picture for all of canada because Quebec does things differently than the rest of Canada. We should allow any non criminal person that is fleeing abuse or danger. They need to be able to prove this of course. During World War 2, Canada denied entry to 900 Jews escaping yhe death camps. Canadian here, born and bred in Toronto. Just where are you getting those housing prices for Canada $550,000 per house??! As I live very close to Toronto just to get into the housing market now you need at least $1 million Canadian. I think it down payment now is $50,000 or more. In 1980 the average income for boomers was 20 grand, a house in the heart of Kitsilano was 50 grand, that house is now worth four and a half million dollars... A toddler could inform you that that isn't a sustainable business model. Suffice to say if I live to a thousand years I will never see a 10,000% return on investment. The older generations have abandoned the younger generations. There was recently a pole done and it showed that Canada ranks eighth for happiness in the world for over 60, and it ranks 65th in the world for under 35... Case closed. LIVING in canada from last 5 years 2019-2022 were great but after 2nd half of 2022 we have experiences the worst period. Shortage of jobs, influx of asylum seekers/immigrants and unskilled labors bringing wages down as they are ready to work under the table on low pay.

But as a Country Canada has a right to stop or slow down immigration if it is in the best interest of Canada and their economy. Australia, Singapore, USA all have done that. We cant call it hypocrisy.\n\nAlso once you leave your home and immigrate to another country for study, job or whatever, you cannot expect the governments of those counties to make decisions favorable to you. In Trump era, USA was very strict on Visa policies and many Indians moved out of USA. USA has gun problem, racism and so on. \n\nPoint being, when you immigrate it comes with your own challenges, irrespective of which country you select. The critical thing is to weigh the pros and cons and decide if the benefits outweigh the challenges!! \n\nGreat research for this video though!
