Hi Febby, stumbled upon your video and wanted to know your experience in Canada. As someone who was born in Canada and left, I wanted to know about some current sentiment, especially by younger people. I think you had some interesting information. I'm actually sad to hear that crime and homelessness has gotten even worse, especially in places like you mentioned, DTES. One thing I want to share with you about the housing issue. Canada acts like a Federation. Meaning that a lot of decision making is delegated to the provincial and municipal level. Yes, Canada has goals for immigration. That's a super valid goal because every developed country is going through declining birth rates. Canada wants to lessen the damage that will be felt by so many other countries like Italy, Germany, China, Japan, etc. The issue with this federated government is like you said, a disconnect between goals and readiness. However, I really feel this will never be accomplishable because of all the lobbying that occurs at the municipal level that the Federal and even Provincial level government cannot control. Yes, there may be shortages in labour to do development, but even then, I really think that lobbying and corruption is keeping adequate supply from being built. From the homeowners and the perspective of the wealthy property owners, they want to keep the valuation of housing high by keeping supply low. Why else is the municipal government keeping such archaic zoning laws? From what I could find, there has been some talk about changing this (https://bc.ctvnews.ca/b-c-to-table-housing-law-targeting-outdated-zoning-rules-1.6627260) but I struggle to see anything really being done. That's probably because of lobbying. The immigration laws set by the government had too many loopholes and flaws ultimately. I don't think we are getting enough productive immigrants. Actually, the opposite seems to occur a lot. The wealthy from the countries I mentioned are abusing the immigration policies in Canada to transfer and preserve their wealth in Canada. I think it has hid in plain sight for a long time, and people have started talked about it in the last 5-10 years because of the struggles of housing affordability from the middle class. What about the immigrants that really want to start a life in Canada and find opportunities like you said? The housing is too expensive for them to do that. Really chicken and egg problem like you mentioned. And this issue can't readily be fixed with the way Canadian government operates. Look forward to hearing your thoughts. Your comparison of Canada to the US is seriously misplaced. Canada is the second largest country in the world, next to Russia. Our population of 40 million ppl is low which is great. Canada is a very diverse country. CANADA is more than Toronto or Montreal. There are many beautiful cities in western Canada, Saskatoon is an example with a population of close to 400K and yes, it’s a city, not a small town. Personally I’d never live in Toronto, and as a life long resident of Canada, born and raised here, who has travelled the entire country. And visited several states as a former professional softball player. Travelled many countries as well as the Caribbean. I would also move to the West Indies, primarily the island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines or maybe New Zealand. If I moved from the west within Canada, I’d move to the Eastern seaboard, Nova Scotia is really nice. Both of you, your eyes are wide shut about Canada lol. You’re missing the boat with your country comparison. Come to the west, outside of Vancouver. Give it a go. You just must like it!!! Thx for the reaction tho.

Saskatchewan is the worst. No major cities, no NHL team, no large bodies of water, no mountains, freezing cold winters, and bug filled summers. Not to mention, farms smells like crap. Winnipeg saves Manitoba, but outside of that its second largest city (and really only other city) is Brandon at 55,000. Over half the province actually lives in Winnipeg. BC is the most beautiful, but also has the most ugly part of Canada with the DTES of Vancouver. That place is hell on Earth.

The prices of plane tickets in the U.S. may be better than in Canada, but I have to admit that whenever I flew with an American airline, the comfort was AWFUL. There was almost zero leg room in the economy seats (and I'm a skinny dude of medium height)... I can't imagine how awful it is for taller or especially fatter people (and let's face it, a lot of Americans are). Maybe I just got unlucky, but it felt like they were trying to jam pack as many flyers as possible for maximum profit... So horrendous comfort as a result.

100% true. I pay 30% as tax of my income and nothing we get in return. Last year, l was pregnant and as showed in the video...got gynecologist after 4 months...luckily l got it, because l didn't even have a family doctor at that time. Worst experience was my delivery. They discharged me on 3rd day, and l got admitted in emergency again on 4th night. Horrible thing is that l waited 5 hours in emergency. ?....list is long ....Canada is a trap.

Whatever you are saying its a lie , i ll tell you my story i was looking for a government job in UP Police or CRPF later i found out i have knock knees and i was shattered i moved to canada in 2010 and my start was really hard i cleaned washroom , i worked in mcdonalds and i received my citizenship in 2020 and currently i am working as a police officer in RCMP and i am proud to say that canada have given my dream :) there is problem but i would say it just 20 percent and rest everything is a lie indian girls never dated but i found my love in canada i was lucky enough that i met my wife here and she approached me i didnt do any effort

I am watching this video from Canada and I have 4 words for you - “DO NOT COME HERE!!!” Everything that was mentioned in the video is absolutely true. Canada is facing many problems, unaffordable housing, broken healthcare systems, homeless people, drugs. I am always scared to walk in downtown at night when I’m returning from work. And the worst part is, you cannot even defend yourself here if a homeless person is attacking you. If you do that you will be prosecuted saying that why did you touch that homeless guy and it is a violation of human rights, which is stupid. So does that mean that we should just let a random homeless person kill us?? How does that make sense?? My friend who was having an asthma attack had to sit in the emergency room for 8 hours. If something would have happened, who would be responsible? And the list just goes on. And what does the Canadian prime minister do about that….? Let a guy be a girl and a girls become a guy? What does that even mean??? I have nothing against the LGBTQ people. That’s your life do whatever you want, I don’t care. But there are so many other issues going on in the country and the government is focusing on allowing people to change their genders !! \nAnd the worst part is that a portion of the tax we pay from our hard earned money goes to the homeless people. And what do they do? Buy drugs and start attacking random people. I really feel sorry for this country and the people of this country. \nI always respected my county, India but now I really feel that the sense of security, belongingness, our culture is amazing !!! \nIf anyone is planning to come to Canada for studies, please think again. To in short , a person can apply for visa , take tickets, come to india and visit any govt hospital , get treated and return in time for their appointment in canada. Weird that we blame our govt hospitals for the rush when the treatment is actually free here
