I used to like Toronto! Now it's too crowded and over priced! Probably the worst city in Canada!

If someone dont stop at stop signs in their own country, you dont let those people come to Canada.

I’m in Vancouver at the mo, been here for several months over the past year (from London, UK) … I don’t think this is much of a problem (check the size of the ‘crowd’ at the beginning) in reality, just blown up by the usual handful of RW windbags … it’s diverse and friendly here … sure they need to build more houses … just do it, this is Canada ffs, not the uk … population density in Canada overall is about 4 persons per sq km, in the UK it’s around 280 … and I don’t think that the UK is even full, in reality. Governments need to stop pandering to the landlord class (of which too many politicians are a part and profit from the status quo)

Thanks to immigrants Canada has survived this long. Immigrants bring in much needed dollars and skills that locals don’t have. Further, immigrants are the hard working people unlike the ‘locals’ who rather than work two jobs to make ends meet, sit back and complain how bad things are. \nIf you haven’t guessed, I’m an immigrant too and have been in Canada for the past 24 years. I have contributed to the coffers and have not taken any money out from it for the past 24 years!

Research them before coming. It's not hard Indians are more intelligent why coming Canada with triple fee ?

Canada needs to stop immigration for next 5 to 10 years in order to bring the housing and food cost down.

I was pro-immigration too when Canada was bringing in 300,000 per year. Then they added over a million, like of course that's not going to work.

I agree with this feeling shared all over. No, for now Canada don’t need a lot of people. The country need to fix this housing problem and fix its immigration policy. It’s insane to see people paying for 900$ for shared bedroom, this is crazy. Fix it first then later you’ll scale up the immigration process again.

Well Canada is obviously different from England I think. The land you currently call Canada was originally owned by the native people. If you are not happy with it, why don't you move forward or out, to somewhere better ? ???

These people are not migrants, they are opportunists. Here in Canada we watch daily on news people escaping from US crossing the border. I guess in New York migrants can get prepaid card for some time and then authorities cut them off and migrants come back to Canada for canadian money, it's a revolving door

I am an immigrant, I have nothing against immigrants. This is gross mismanagement from the liberal government. Why would you let Soo many people come in soo fast in such a short time. \n\nTruth is government doesnt care. It's all about how much money is coming into Canada.

Add in greed driven inflation by the oil & grocery giants and there is no extra money for rent. Now poilievre wants back in power, when he’s had 20 years and done nothing to increase housing, and pander to those exact same conglomerates. Meanwhile, our interest rates keep going down according to plan, the housing bubble has leveled, & progress is being made. Canada isn’t broken, we just have to keep working on it.

Canada needs to look at the public housing program in Singapore. It has worked very well for its citizens and permanent residents.

As a first-generation immigrant who grew up in Toronto, Canada, especially Ottawa and big cities in Ontario, have become unrecognizable as a result of immigration! I’ve been priced out of my home province! It also doesn’t help that the immigrants these days overwhelmingly come from countries with very different cultural values

And now Mexico is more expensive than ever simply because many Canadians and US citizens are packing up and moving there permanently. On arrival he was given a list 5 A4 pages long of things he COULD NOT DO in that country. He didn't complain and abided by that. One Westerner broke one of the rules accidentally and literally had to leave the country taking nothing with him. Why is ok to enforce culture one way, but not the other? That's your problem. We came to Canada 60+ years go and life then was so much better than now. Prices were low and taxes were low. There were lots of apartments available and lots of jobs. \nMy parents rented an apartment and got good factory jobs. \nThroughout the years various governments have increased the deficit and increased taxes. Now Canada is ruined.

Canadian government is begging immigrants to fill their job requirements . You don't study hard, work hard, dream big. What do you expect from your government. I've lived in Canada for around 8 yrs, still don't get it, how come a country with 2nd largest land in the world has a housing crisis?? When I just arrived in the country, the cost to own a house was around $400k, now it is about $750k to maybe $900k. I am soooooo regret I didn't get one when it's relatively affordable.
