I grew up in Canada..Calgary to be more specific. I have now been away for 10 years, living in Chile. I go visit every couple of years and I understand completely, id have a hard time moving back. Maybe for people who have arrived in the last few years it seems fine, but for the rest of us that remeber how it was 15, 20 or 30 years ago..its a shocking change. The big cities are full of drugs and homeless, which increases crime. Its expensive and good jobs are hard to come by. It seems to me 2015 was the turning point and only these last 2 or 3 years are Canadians realizing the mess that has been created.

If you or anyone inn the same situation have enough (A lot) of money, of course it's the smart choice to move abroad. You are still super young. But someone close to retirement and after living in Canada for a long time, Its not that smart. Canadian goverment wont pay you full pension if yu don't live for a minimum amount of time a year inside Canada. So giving away your money to the Canadian gov is not something that a lot of people are willing to do. Not after living years here and paying huge tax. But again you are lucky that you are young.

Nobody asked the citizens if they want an open borders policy. Radical mosques will turn Canada into something else.

Canada and the most of the western world are pushing socialism very hard not realizing that capitalism is what made those countries great and attractive to immigrants. Now even immigrants are leaving. Leftist ideology does not work once again.

These issues are prevalent in the EU, US and Canada. All these countries are experiencing inflation, homelessness and related problems with health care access. If you think Poilievre can wave a magic wand and solve lack of affordable housing and inflation you are not very bright.

Canada has been like these for long time, not perfect, but not many places on this planet better than Canada…. \n\nYou have more qualities than most of celebrities, hope you good luck in your next endeavour…..

Canada has always had great potential, BUT that is and has been under attack and is eroding quickly. No country can do what we are doing and remain organized and plentiful like it used to be. Hey! I live in Edmonton Alberta Canada,population around 1.2 million. We have a huge awesome river and river valley that is utilized year round. There are non stop festivals, right now we have the Cari West the largest Caribbean festival in western Canada. Our tap water is amazing, my daughter rents the main floor of a renovated house that includes a garage for 1,400 a month. Gorgeous south side neighbourhood within walking distance to anything. Lots of imperfections as it is a big city and yes there is crime but it does not define what I do and where I go except possibly late at night. The cold in the winter is tolerable for the most part but that doesn’t stop any one from outdoor activities. Just put your warm clothes on and just get out there. I get fed up with winter when it drags on but all of a sudden we’ve been having record breaking heat this summer so I am looking forward to Autumn. We’re 4 hours from the fabulous Rocky Mountains and the wonderful city of Calgary is about an hour 1/2 from there. Alberta is my province and Edmonton is my home. The rest of Canada varies from one province to another. PS. We’ve travelled to various locations in the U.S. and were always treated well and enjoyed our visits, just sayin!

Build affordable housing and it won’t be an issue. It is NOT affordable to live in Canada without a minimum income of $100,000.00 per year, per earning person in the home.

Affordable housing stock can be overcome and more infrastructure built. IF there are new approvals and investments. But, Canada economy has stalled.

It’s crazy how most people think that Canada is importing an army of workers !!\nOnly a small percent of the million that come in every year have work visas (in the UK it is 15% and Canada is similar). It is a mix of everything, IMO. Several other countries are also in the same situation (Canada is not the only country facing this). I think the big part is capitalism, which squeezes out everyone and reaches a junction where there is no balance.
