I don't care what side of the fence you sit on. I did not need to hear this man speak to already know Canada was, but may yet be, our greatest ally and trading partner. I have no idea what possessed Mr. Trump to decide to stab our allies in the back, but it was not something good. 27.5% of voting age adults voted for him. How many of them were serenaded by hollow promises and a good slogan. Perhaps all of the mud slinging and Russian media interference helped? If you add in our more studious teenagers, truly reformed felons, and immigrants who actually deserve a gold card, that number plummets to less than 25%. I won't ask people to wake up, if you are reading this you are already more than capable of finding out that I speak only the hard truth. This means less than a quarter of america wanted this. This means your vote and opinions DO count. I know it is incredibly difficult to reach for and find answers in a world where your president or primary candidate throws 'fake news' in your face on a regular basis. He is actually telling the truth. When he is not telling you is that he is a primary enabler of 'fake news'. To him, only his word is law, only his opinion matters, only he deserves to be on top, and he deserves authority over all of your lives. Do the right thing, we all have a civil duty to understand our candidates to the very best of our ability. When a man has been convicted of dozens of felonies, and we tell you that this is only what we were willing to expose. You may want start believing us. The genuine facts of his past are unilaterally corrupting to our children and good people alike. Do not let the american people repeat their mistakes, force Mr. Trump to atone for his mistakes. No not empower him to sweep them under the rug for the sake of his own arrogance, because that is exactly what he is doing by trying to dismantle the CIA and FBI. These two institutions are shining examples of America's pursuit of freedom and justice. Freedom to keep billionaires from corrupting the morals of our children. Freedom to know that the rule of law is immutable, our constitution is not just a paper with fancy traditional sentiment. Even if the law may sometimes be bent for the sake of decency, forgiveness, and the pursuit of 'united we stand', our constitution cannot. Amendments require the FULL support of nearly all Americans, not 27.5% of unrestricted adults.

There is no economic war! A war is a war. The tarrifs is a fuse for an escalation, and this is likely what Trump plans. I wouldn't be surprised that the former suggested a partnership to Putin to militarely attack Canada, and the world, by the way. Lets think about this. As European I admired the canadian democracy since years. Now, my respect grow even bigger. We need to stand together and work together against the stupidity in our modern world.

Canadian here: I don’t agree with the WSJ that DJT is a very smart man. I think they are just being diplomatic and putting the emphasis on the actions, rather than speaking ad hominem. I think he is crafty, but not well-informed, or logical. Even if he is smart, he is not wise, and there is a huge difference. If you read Proverbs, you’ll see he has the traits of a nabal, a fool. Plus, he is showing signs of cognitive decline. That’s not his fault, but he should be reassessed, and then those who CAN act, need the courage to do the right thing for the sake of the US and the world.

Things are getting out of hand. In just over a month the world has gone from being in an uncertain place with multiple wars etc into a very grave and dangerous place. Great speech, at last a Leader standing up to trump and his cronies. Canada needs you so a shame you are not continuing. As a born Brit but now an Aussie my husband and I applaud you. The Democratic world needs to stand up to trump and musk. Canadians are tough and just know that many of us are with you in spirit and wherever we live are not buying US products either. Can BOTH sides of the aisle please just chill out!?!? We all need to stop. The media keeps people with opposing views and opinions SO SEPARATED! We are all human beings trying to navigate through this stressful and chaotic thing called “life”. It’s okay that others have different opinions. It’s okay. That’s what makes the world go round. Can we all please just be a tiny bit more caring, compassionate, understanding, and empathetical towards one another. Not even a lot, just a little bit. It’s really simple to be kind.
