I am an older white trans woman that prefers to date black men as I just find them more attractive. Here it comes the proverbial but, I sometimes find it hard to not be prejudice. I hate myself for that, but I need to be honest with myself or I could never change to be a better person. That is something I strive for everyday. Sometimes I feel like I am making no headway though. \nI seriously hope that’s not true.

Remembered in the early 90’s working at one of the Big 8 accounting firms and interviewing a fella who had a turban and we talked about everything from work to Ice Hockey. Thought he was a good fit and went back to sit with the team (all White) and atmosphere was very clear, the turban fella was not to be considered. I sat quiet as the lowest on the pecking order. To be fair, we did have other minorities and even a staff with the name Mohammed - but they were far and few in-between. Industry has changed and we now have partners from minority groups (clearly tied to groups and countries that have grown economically). Unfortunately discrimination or prejudices still exist and seems to have made a comeback led by Trump.

Canadians have a lot of prejudice that isn't limited to racism. Productions like CBC are disingenuous with their reporting to push a narrative. The 'test' alone (link above) uses semantics to manipulate responses, thusly results. Also, you can't peg a corporation for the perceived behaviour when following around white minimum wage workers. Attack corporations for the slave labour used to produce the goods you take for granted every day, how about that? Nope, you work for the government who is in bed with corporations. Dishonest journalism at it's finest. EDIT: You just held an experiment submitting double resumes with the same creds for min/wage positions then moved on to professional music auditions with a screen after resumes have been vetted /eyeroll

Racism, discrimination, ignorance and prejudice are parts of white peoples’ culture and their DNA but things are getting better and there is hope at the end of the tunnel for many reasons so be patient. # Use your brain not your ignorant culture.

Canada is one of the worst places to immigrate to. I’m Canadian. I know what it’s like to live here. Plus I’m indigenous. So I’ve face racism and prejudice. Many think my people gets free handouts. From my experience that’s far from the truth. I’ve left my community for a better education. I was completely alone without parents and my siblings, living with an aunt that used me for another pay check. I couldn’t go to college because I couldn’t afford it, even tho I got accepted into three colleges. Now I’m working a part-time job that forces me to stand on my feet all day. Not many job opportunities are out here unless you’ve gone to college or obtain training. plus the rate for rent is horrendous.

If they our and the govt is still letting planes in from china , in from virus hot spots, other countries it's not being prejudice worrying about catching co vid , getting sick may be dying , the govt , the tv media it's there fault they have put so much fear into the population , plus on CBC , global a infectious disease expert said 15 percent of the cases were from international essential travelers in two months 270 came to Canada, example say 20 confirm 3 our from international essential tavelers , about mask, how come cases our going up as soon as they make people ware mask, grocery stores, all workers and people keep touching them , letting them down for a second to catch there breath,, scratching there face , now it's contaminated , it's the same with the whole country , carry alcohol and a running water, carrying a sink around all the time to be 100 percent safe from wearing mask.\n, in hospital medical professional , even touch there mask , face too , get contaminated ,so how do you think 2 years and above can have that kind of control. The insanity .\nJesus Christ is the way truth and life ?❤️ peace.

I'm well into my 40s and have NEVER seen a case prejudice at the corporate level nor have I seen a instance of gender based discrimination. Infact, many of my employers have provided me female managers and POC. This narration doesn't speak to many because IF it's seen, it should be dealt with in a car by case basis as there is no systematic bias in North America other than this current narration that there IS a bias everywhere. Ashamed my tax dollars have funded this agenda as the CBC itself is a clear example of how diverse the Canadian work force has been and continues to be.

PleAse why don't test black people about being prejudice
2020-06-27 0
The world is too kind to this type of people. If you have nothing to worry about prejudices. The one who started to talk about colour and race should be lynch in court. Witch hunt them all.

I can truly say iv been to Canada once in my life Montreal and didn't feel any prejudice but it was only for a few hours. But I was told to expect it to happen, thus was in the 80's
2020-06-26 0
It baffles my mind people can hate certain people that they don't know because of the way they aren't white. I don't understand the motives. I find myself being prejudice towards those type of people it makes me so angry to see it or hear it being done.

Of all the people in Canada who are convicted of shop lifting, what are the proportions of whites, latinos, blacks or aboriginals? Are shopkeepers justified in their suspicion? We hear a great deal about racism, but never any comparative statistics that prove or disprove it. What I am trying to say is: is there any reason why this prejudice exists in the first place?\nIn Edmonton a few years ago an aboriginal man died of a stroke while waiting for triage in a hospital emergency area. IF I remember correctly, police and hospital staff alike assumed he was drunk, not suffering a stroke. I think the chances of someone in a downtown lower east side area being drunk is much higher than having a stroke. So staff just assumed he was drunk. \nIf more people of all ethnic backgrounds behaved more like whites would that suspicion disappear? I wonder if there is a logical and reasonable explanation for why shop keepers feel they way they do.

Try renting a single room in a house these days (2020), lots and lots of prejudice just in the ads themselves....

i am an older white woman living in an apartment complex for people who have lost everything. i lost my entire $750k retirement. i have lived here for 10 years. the population is \n15% white women over 50 \n10% black women over 50, \n5% white men under 50 \n2% white women under 50\n3% black women under 50 \n65% black men under 50\ni have been sick so i havent been out of my apartment. but i am concerned. i dont know many people. the ones i know accept and know me as i am know to not be concerned \nbut i am afraid when i leave here, people are going to look for my prejudice based on current events\nthat test sounds like it will make you sound prejudiced. thats a loaded question\nDo you believe black as can have it as good as whites if they try harder\nhow do you answer that without sounding bad\nyes i believe that is true - definitely a bad answer\nno i dont think thats true sounds like i dont think blacks can have it as good. \ni worked for BDMi in Houston\nfor 4 yearsa not one bl;ack was hired because the original partner, retired who owned the building would not permit it.\nit was blatant\nafter 4 years i had it, i reported it to the eeoc people, they said they couldnt do anything. nothing happened except i was 'let go'c

City really has a lot to with it. I’m a Hispanic in Houston, Texas, one of the most Hispanic places in Texas, and I’ve never really felt uncomfortable or felt like people have any prejudice towards me, but I didn’t know racism was still a thing until I was 19, so I may be super oblivious to these things still

Sad Ive tried not to be like that. Ive had black friends off and on since i was in 2nd grade. My dad was very prejudice. My s4lf i think its ignorance..

think some of these tests should be structured better to make us more aware of our *actions towards different races in specific situations and suggestions to improve collectively. we already know most ppl have a higher pref for whites..most ppl generally have prejudice views but whats ur point?? we already know this and why but what can we do to change as a society??
2020-05-15 0
I just have to say this i feel like it so unrecognized, the prejudice that people you have never met and dont know are prejudiced that you as an individual are prejudiced.

My son worked at Superstore and he said it was 90% Natives stealing and being caught for shoplifting. Women with carts full of groceries surrounded by little kids as shields trying to walk out without paying. And when they were stopped they shouted “racism”! You make your own bed, ppl don’t get these “prejudices” from thin air. And I wonder what those little kids watching their parents steal will do?...give me a break snowflakes! And I wonder what faces the black guy would prefer? A Chinese store owner will watch the black guy and the native too, are the Chinese racists??

Wow I never knew of Canada's prejudices. I encounter a lot of Toronto ppl in NYC that I'm not keen on but their personalities just remind me of folks you encounter on the upper Eastside. I have southern roots (SC and MS) and have grown up in Missouri most my life so I know racism. I would hope it couldn't be worse than that in Canada, as I still do want to visit one day soon.

Its an unfortunate reality for Canadians. How ever let it be known that European heritage aren't the only ones who make prejudice comments and actions.... In my reality I had prejudice attacks from Hispanics, Nigerians, Filipinos and INDIAN Canadian, as I appear very Canadian Indegenous.

Terrible social experimentation, also boarders on unethical to experiment on the unknowing public!!!! Racism is bad but provoking sexism, violence and prejudice for the sake of a social experiment. Personally I question if it is even legal to conduct social experimentation on the general public???

Canada just doesnt have as many people of colour willing to live in our cold climate.\nThere may be five families where i live and i only knew one family in my hometown of brantford ont. where we have huge native families.\nGrowing up half breed myself i have witnessed many racial prejudices.\nThe canadian propaganda wheel spews the company line 'dirty, lazy indian' , they don't even call us natives! \nThis is the respect we are denied at every turn.\nAfter buying $1,400 worth of items for my sons dorm room from walmart we were held and searched , after they embarassed us and held us for the police i was strip searched and given no apology for the false accusations

I'm not suprise at all, in canada there is racism and prejudice , I have been of victime of that on several occasion here in canada , once I was denied a room and spent the night out because I had a french accent and yes I'm white.

Theirs extreme prejudice in every country. I hate it when someone plays the race card. It diminishes your freedom of speech. The CBC is the worst for promoting hate. That's why I don't watch their programming.

I took it maybe years ago in a college course and I showed no prejudice but now I dont think I would get the same score because the experiences I've had since then and I try to keep an open mind by keeping my high school friends around me of many different races but it's hard

I think what you are missing is that the majority of us don't care about\n what religion people practice in their homes or in private....... we just don't want to be ruled by that \nreligion. We believe in free democratic leadership, free of dark age \nreligious prejudices and hatreds. By the way, I'm female so please keep \nyour religious based beliefs and comments about women to yourselves.

They did the test for each individual three men. \n Many Black people if they were to do the same test, their result I guarantee you would be, “Little to No preference for European American and African American.”\n We Blacks aren’t prejudice against NoOne! But unfortunately for us, we get the most hate from everyone. ??‍♀️

I just ignore it or confront the person if I sense that someone is being prejudice towards me. Otherwise, MOST people are NOT prejudice! So QUIT focusing the negative aspect of human frailties and focus on the good side! It seems like if one person is one bad apple, media likes to focus on that one bad apple and forgot to focus that the rest of the apples are still good and healthy!

I often think Racism is being confused with being Prejudice.

Maybe if every other colored didn't steal something people wouldn't follow every one. \n\nThere is a reason for prejudices and stereotypes, stop trying to make people think there isn't

I was arrested with extreme prejudice and ordered deported from Canada. The RCMP is a branch of the military, and did this. Only problem for them was the fact I was born in Canada. I am now a political asyli in the US, and it was the Canadian authorities own police reports that made my claim valid.

Dear CBC you should have done Winnipeg, racial prejudices and alive and kicking here and nobody hides it

Racism and prejudice is everywhere! Some places are just more in your face about it. It also depends on the situation and how ballsy the perpetrator wants to be that’s all.
